<itunes:summary>The Text: John 5:1-24; where Jesus cures the invalid who had waited at the pool of Bethesda for 38 years. //  Later after Jesus had cured him, He meets up with the invalid at the temple and says "See, you are well again. STOP SINNING or something worse may happen to you!" // Pastor Bill Calvin delivers this weeks message, the 5th in the series on the Gospel of John : Jesus' story; Investigating what He taught and how He lived.// Pastor Bill explains the ramifications of Jesus healing on the Sabbath and all the points of analysis this fact brings out.// The only thing that separates us from God is SIN, and Jesus wants to DELIVER us from our sin.// God is everywhere, but it is sin that obscures Him from us.// Since Jesus is God, His death on the cross is an infinite sacrifice, and Jesus knows ALL of our sin.// The last note is to read the promise in John 5:24.//
This weeks TAP readings are://Monday: John 5:1-15//Tuesday: John 5:16-30//Wednesday: II Corinthians 5:17-21//Thursday: John 5:31-47//Friday: Matthew 5: 13-2</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The Text: John 4, where Jesus talks to the woman at the well, who was not only a Samaritan woman, but also a very broken person, a sinner, and Jesus tells her everything about her life, and how He can save her as the Messiah with living water.//  Mark Taube gives the message this week continuing with the series on the Gospel of John: Jesus' story, how He lived and what He taught.//  Mark starts by pointing out how Jesus just HAD to go thru Samaria, when there were 3 other possible routes.//  Again, our unconventional Jesus first goes thru Samaria when there is a deep hatred between Jews and Samaritans, second TALKS to a Samaritan, and third, the Samaritan is a woman who is alone at the well.//  The woman was an outcast, considered unclean , yet Jesus asks her for a drink of water.//  Jesus transforms a regular conversation into a spiritual one, talking of living water when the woman has no mind at the time for the spiritual.//  Jesus makes the woman a believer when He tells her everything about her life and explains that He is the Messiah.// At that point she runs to tell everyone, the first missionary in a sense.//  The Samaritans that came back to see Jesus said " We know He is the Savior of the world" , the first time He is ever given that title.//

<itunes:summary>The Text: John 3:22-30 //  Jesus' ministry has begun and crowds of people are gathering regularly to hear him, while Christ's forerunner, John the Baptist, has also had public notoriety teaching to seek God honestly by repenting of their sins.//  Pastor David Riemenschneider begins this message in the series on the Gospel of John with an illustration: a trailer cart hooked up to the back of his bike.//When backing up a trailer you must turn the front wheels in the opposite direction that you want the trailer to go.//  John the Baptist was identified by Jesus as the greatest individual in Matthew 11:11, and was Jesus' forerunner, yet knows as stated in John 3:30; "He {Jesus} must become greater and I must become less" . //  John the Baptist knew joy comes from God's voice of approval and that life is not about "me".//  The practical application of Pastor David's message is 1.] Experiencing the joy of the Lord, and 2.] Letting go of the self focused and self destructive "me" attempt to control.//

<itunes:summary>The Text: John 2 : 13-17 ; Jesus reacts to the hideous misuse of the temple courtyard which the religious leaders supported.//  Please excuse the changing audio levels is this podcast posting due to some rewiring that was done for our day camp vacation bible school.//  Pastor David Riemenschneider continues with the series on the Gospel of John and Jesus' story, investigating what He taught and how He lived.//  In John 2 : 13-17, Jesus was agitated because he despised the fact that God's house was being misused for commercialism by people that claimed to be God's representatives.//  The temple was supposed to be a sacred place of prayer and the consumerism distracted from a genuine relationship with God.//  Do not allow "religion" to crowd out genuine faith or hinder others who are seeking God.//  Pastor David ends the message with some practical applications, questions, and conclusions on what we are to do.//  We need to keep a "for real" relationship and connection with God.//  Our religion should be a house of prayer, not a house of cards.//

<itunes:summary>Pastor David Riemenschneider concludes the series on the 10 Commandments with Commandment #10 : Do Not Covet. //  We get confused about what we really value by promoting 2nd shelf items to the top convinced that we are doing an adequate job with our priorities in life and by letting the devil hand us 3rd shelf items to place on the top shelf. //  The 10th Commandment raises the bar to ones inner thoughts, not only what we say and do. //  The prohibition of "Do Not Covet" addresses inappropriate desires, not ALL desires. //  Coveting is a problematic desire for more affluence / wealth that is non-essential.//  Practical strategies are to monitor what you allow to capture your attention, only get what you really need, and be thankful for what you have.//  Pastor David ends the message with a few evaluative questions.//

<itunes:summary>Pastor David Riemenschneider continues with the series on the 10 Commandments with Commandment #9 : Tell the Truth.//  A lie is intentionally misrepresenting the truth and to deceive by making a false impression. //  Commandment #9 is in the Bible because lying ruins relationships and is highly destructive.//  The defence mechanisms used to misrepresent the truth are : 1.] Denial.  2.] Rationalization. and 3.] Projection.//  Pastor David presents 6 personal inventory questions.: 1.] Do you deceive others for personal gain? 2.] Do you deceive others to make yourself look better? 3.] Does your public image and private behavior match up? 4.] Are you in touch with your self deceiving defence mechanism? 5.] Do you model truth telling to others? 6.] Do you let other's opinions of you influence you more than God's truth about you? //  Pastor David ends the message with 2 points of practical therapy for us: 1.] Read the Bible every day and do the T.A.P.  2.] Listen non-defenceably to the input of truthful friends.//

<itunes:summary>The series on The 10 Commandments continues this week with Pastor Bill Calvin delivering the message on Commandment #7 : Be Faithful In  Your Marriage. //  Adultery is a nuclear bomb of sin and the fallout effects everyone around it. //  See Leviticus 20:10 , and realize that the verdict of death is never carried out in the bible because saving a marriage is of life and death importance. //   There are other alternatives as in Matthew 19:9 , but keep in mind that adultery does not limit its effect on just the couple involved. //  After reviewing Matthew 5:27-29 we may think "I have no chance, this is impossible to live up to" , but Jesus did not come to condemn us, but to save us thru himself. //  Jesus waits to help us with the battle line that is drawn on our "thought lives" . //  The Bible does not gloss over sin, from David's adultery to Peters denials . //  Jesus knows our every thought, so, are we pressing closer to Jesus? Does it show? Do we have Joy? //  Jesus WILL change your life for the better, and He DOES work thru other people. //  James 5:16 says to confess our sins to one another, and to pray for each other so we can be healed.  //</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Pastor David Riemenschneider continues his series on The Ten Commandments with Commandment #6 : "You shall not murder." //  All the ramifications of this commandment can be summed up in one statement: "Angry attitudes and wounding words are murderous." //  Frustrations come out as anger and inner violence.//  Angry attitudes and wounding words lead to over-reacting and character assassination which lead to verbal homicide.//  Angry attitudes and wounding words do damage to others and to us.//  Anger has a silent partner, a killer named "bitterness."//  Anger and bitterness can dominate and control your life and foster isolation and discontentment.//  When we forgive we renew relationships and experience joy.//   We should forgive and not be angry because God forgave us!!//  God always acts benevolently towards us and He does no wrong, yet we feel He is not fair to us at times.//  If that is how you feel, TELL HIM,  because He can take it!!//  Do not remain a victim and let it ruin your life.//  It is right to make our relationships right.//  Forgiveness and reconciliation is better than anger and bitterness.//

<itunes:summary>Pastor David Riemenschneider continues in his 10 commandment series with Commandment #5 : Honor your parents.//  This is the first commandment that comes with a promise, and that is the promise of a long and full life.//  Parents are the first authorities in a child's life.//  Our attitude toward authority reveals out character and dominates our contentment because we always have a boss.//  Children are self centered sinners who need major redirection in their lives.//  Undirected they can trash their lives in a short time.//  For parents: Listen first and do not be to quick to give advise.//  Parents are the primary people in forming the values of kids around them.// For kids: How do you honor parents if there are major problems?//  Major problems do not give you a pass on commandment #5, so honor them anyway for what they have done for you and changed your life positively.//  Pastor David gives some solutions and examples of this issue.//  Both kids and parents should set an example for believers in speech, life, love, faith and purity.//

<itunes:summary>Pastor David Riemenschneider continues in his series on the 10 commandments with commandment #3: Respect God's Name.//"The Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His Name" is a very strong statement from Exodus 20:7.//  It grieves God's heart because He is perfect and good and has nothing to do with the disgusting profane lies His Name is associated with when His Name is used in vain.//  Using His Name in vain cuts down His character, His role in our lives, and His relationship He seeks with us.//  People misuse His Name because of ignorance and arrogance.//  Pastor David goes over profanity in words and actions and then reviews some examples of each.//  The message ends with a personal inventory of ways we may be profaning the Name of God.//

<itunes:summary>Pastor David Riemenschneider continues with his series on The 10 Commandments with Commandment #2 : Do not make an idol of anything.//  Our top self priorities should not contain any other "false gods" or false images of God.//  The difference between Commandment #1 and #2 are explained and how sometimes  we decide what someone is like by the image we perceive and respond on that basis.//  We must not respond to just the image we have, for this is a misrepresentation of the True God.//  Pastor David goes over some common false images of God we have, and the sources of these ideas.//  The big question is : Who do you worship, and do you have any false images of God on your top shelf?//  The message ends with a sure strategy to study the Scripture to know what the truth of God really is.//

<itunes:summary>Pastor Bill Calvin delivers his Palm Sunday message about 2 truths that have changed peoples lives for over 2000 years.//  Our King, Jesus Christ was truly the most extravagant giver of all time and has saved lives from depression, sadness, hopelessness, and many other human conditions.//  The first truth is that Jesus Christ is THE most worthy person in the world to receive our praise.//  Pastor Bill gives examples of Lazarus and Zacchaeus, and how massive crowds formed to see Jesus because of  life changing miracles like these.//  The second truth is that Jesus is worthy of many KINDS of praise, all the time.//  There are 20 different ways of praising listed in the bible like clapping, shouting, singing, dancing, and many more.// "Shouting" is in the bible 155 times, and "praise" is in the bible 375 times!.//  Palm Sunday celebrates what Jesus does in peoples lives!!.//</itunes:summary>
