For years I believed in love
that you really cared for me
years I let you ran my life
I have lived with all your lies

now it’s my turn to see
of how life would be
if I’ll look it through my eyes
and let my heart decide

I gave you my heart, my own
made you the center of it all
in return you shower me with pain
for years I cried every night

now it’s my turn to see
of how life would be

and let me find my way

others have looked me down
but tired of living my life for them

Unspoken words, silent goodbyes
apparently some good things never last
the obvious is so bitter to swallow
but it’s hard to keep holding on
the path to where it started, unseen
only clear is the coming end

it takes two to tango as they say
and you cannot keep on swaying alone
soon the music of love will stop playing
only the sound of a broken heart, crying
it was a good dance, best thing of its kind
but cannot go on, when you’re left alone

why all the lies, when you can just say
“it was fun but i have to say goodbye”
it would be easier and best that way
than to go all through this masquerade
let go of those promises that were made
vows are just done during the best moments
but hardly ever be kept. It’s just the way it is

any dance will last the moment the song stops
and the heart that loves will surely bleed and falter
happiness that used to be, comes pain and misery
so be brave enough, go on and just bid farewell
lies won’t help, it will just add more pain and hurt

A warm night it was, on the beach
We were talking yet you are far away
Your mind is somewhere else
And you kept on admiring the seashells

You can deceive others with your smile
As if everything is just fine
I see you laugh so often
But never saw you happy even once

You’ve been living in a box
You have embraced loneliness
A prisoner in a world you made
Your best friend was your bed

You were living an empty life, living for others
You existed, surviving but not living
As fragile as you are, you've been a real fighter
For you need to, for the sake of your beloved

A starry night on the beach again
It was a different one this time
Like a kid you’ve played with the water
Never seen you so happy, not in a while

It was that night, genuine laughs
The glowing water made you forget
Burdens that you carry within yourself
The iron-mask suddenly disappeared

For a moment I saw the real you
The person behind that tough look
It was then, that I felt the pinch in my heart
Even from afar, I began to care

Then came, unforgettable night on the road

You see things others wouldn’t even notice
As most by material things that they are please

Suddenly I was arguing with myself
Is she real? Or just my make belief
Is she the one? The girl of my dreams
Indeed, she isn’t just another pretty face

Realization hit me, I am falling deeply
Not knowing if she’ll catch my heart
Still, I kept my distance, be with her is enough
But my heart bleeds with her false laugh

She’s a diamond in a veil of sorrow
A great woman inside and out
But was kept in a dark shroud of pain
She just needed a light buff to shine

Fate has its way, things happened
Gods favored events that made us closer
It was heaven, first time we became one
Love bloomed, friendship got stronger

The girl that used to wear a tiger-mask
Became the jolly kitten, the sweetest
With so much love for life, she laughs
This time genuine laughs, true happiness

From the box, she came out
Now she’s the Queen of my heart

Strange Feeling-The Day Before Mother's Day

Today this morning, I woke up with a heavy heart
I felt a very painful sensation, a sting in my guts
I got up straight to the toilet to take a bath
Wishing that the warm water would make it stop

What could be it that makes me want to weep?
Is it the dream that woke me in my sleep?
I don’t really remember, it could have been a nightmare
But the hurt is so bad, making it hard for me to breath

I got out of the house, the sun with all its glory
My heart refuses to see the light, what could it be?
The trees sway with the passing breeze, seem so happy
Yet I cannot appreciate even the birds’ melodies

I kept on searching for answers within myself
Even tried to dig in to my subconscious thoughts
What is it that makes me wanted to cry and shout?
Why so suddenly there is a sore in my heart?

Until finally, I noticed the calendar near my desk
Tomorrow is the second week of the month of May
I guess my heart remembers what my mind has forgotten
Now I know, now I know why, tomorrow is Mother’s Day
I can no longer kiss my mother and say “I Love YOU mom”

I have travelled around the world
Seen so many places and different faces
Sailed away on a cruise, rapids I rode
Yet there is something, an empty space

I have dated so many women, a lot
Been so many times that I have thought
She is the one for me, could be my better half
Yet no one has been able to fill that gap

I rode horses raced with the open air
The rush of adrenaline filled me in
Freedom I feel when I am racing cars
Yet in the evening I feel so confined

I jumped from a plane countless times
Even tried the bungee jump, to feed the hunger
The thirst I have been trying to quench
Yet nothing is enough, it never ends

I hate the moon, I don’t know why
I like to walk yet I despised the path
I hate the sun, I don’t know why
I like to swim but the water I hate

The void is too great, too deep
Sometimes at night I end up in the abyss
The feeling of nothingness, it suffocates
With all the wealth, nothing is adequate

Until one day, I met a homeless man
He seems so at peace, as if he owns the street
With a pen and a notebook at hand
He look me in the eye and said, this is my wealth

I glanced at the notebook, began to read
There I learned he used to be a movie star
Adored by millions and by thousands was envied
I asked, why did you chose this life of having none

He smiled and said, I have all what I need
The street will provide for my food
The creek bathes me and keeps me clean
I do not have to worry about money, and he grinned

Why a homeless man is so happy and content?
And me who have everything, living a despondent life

I am weak yet happy and content
with you my child I feel so safe
but embarrassed to say the least
for I see how much you care
trying to make me be at peace

my child I am old, respite I seek
forgive me for being a burden
how I wish I could still do the laundry
but my knees are betraying me
if I could just stand and wash the dishes
and prepare coffee after the dinner
that is, if I could just remember the pantry

every time I see you going to work
I always want to get up from this bed
a sweet chocolate cake I would bake
but I couldn’t even reach for the toilet
my child, I want to show you I still care
that for me you are still the baby I caressed
but even words cannot slip from my lips

every morning is a blessing for me
another day of seeing you my beloved
do not bother with the tears in my eyes
I cried not because of any discomfort
I always cry whenever I reminisce the past
when I cuddle and poke your blushing nose
those moments in my heart I shall keep
until time and age, claim of what is left of me

my child you are my greatest triumph
the reason I can sleep soundly at night
you are my precious gift to the world
the angel I have carried in my wound

A laughing crazy man brags
He owns the sun and the moon
Another sleeps on riches

There are moments when I could almost
hold the earth with my bare hands
those are the times when I feel you most
minutes of love and affections

there are some instances I am so lost
and confused of where I stand
what and who am I in your life
where do I fit in your world?

am I just too caught up in a fantasy?
I wonder if what we have is just a dream
that I just made it seem so real
are we real or just merely an illusion

I can’t seem to find the rhythm
and rhyming lines hardly come by

cursing and condemning the heavens
Love is a such a positive feeling

every battle is easier to fight and conquer
defeat can never be, long as she’s beside

but the feelings remain
that night I won’t forget
the most precious moment

the elation I felt
like a dream so surreal
it took me a while

I heard the birds sing in the silence of the night
