Happy Summer!

2016-06-29T07:48:00.001-04:00

A warm "Hello" to anyone who still reads my blog. I've been taking some much needed short vacations to properly kick off the summer and also planting mental seeds for artistic inspiration.

I just wrote a new poem "The Opposite of Fair" last week and I'm going to try it out at a few open mic venues to see how well it goes over with the crowds.

I'll be doing my best to share all the awesome sights and beautiful places that I'll be visiting from quaint hidden gems to popular vacation spots. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, here's a midnight view from the fascinating Carousel resort in Ocean City, MD!

Usher - Chains by Film The Future ft. Nas, Bibi Bourelly

2016-02-02T13:57:00.001-05:00

Usher did just what he was meant to do by using his talents to express himself and to represent what many of us have been feeling involving the black injustice all over the world. Well done Usher! The video is powerful and so are the lyrics. Check it out below:

The best commercial ever! I cried laughing when I saw this... and I don't even watch football but this commercial is everything. P.S. Seal was looking good and chocolatey too!

Eargasms All Over

2016-02-02T11:36:00.001-05:00

So I finally updated my iTunes account (😜) and treated myself to some new music. I'm more than satisfied with all of my purchases! Let me go down the list.

Rihanna did NOT disappoint! I heard some time last year that Rihanna was working with a plethora of new producers and this album proves it. She introduced a new style but still stayed true to Rihanna. She also has some cuts on there that make you wish you were at the beach twerking on the boardwalk. Thank you Rihanna! You've helped me cope with the snow blizzard here in DC.

Call me biased but Jeremih has never made an album or mixtape that I haven't absolutely loved! This one is no exception. So far I'm feeling "Pass Dat" and another track with Ty Dolla $ign on it. He's another one who makes music that gets you amped up for summer shenanigans!

And last but not least, BRANDY! Push through Slayana!

Dear Sweet Baby Jesus,

Please let Brandy, Mo to the E to the, grace us with a new album in 2016! This song will do for now but I sense I'll be going through withdrawals in a few more weeks.

Bossip Gossip!

2016-02-02T11:00:00.001-05:00

Now, I love Bossip. Their blog keeps things good and messy without compromising integrity (which is more than I can say about another website that shall remain nameless). Anywhoo I never read the Bossip advice column where readers send in these Dear Abby letters asking for advice... but today, I DID!

Honestly, it could be a hoax - some person with spare time on their hands hoping that one of their bogus e-mails makes it onto the Bossip site, but when I tell you I got my entire life reading this shit, I got my life and lost my edges! Take a read and let me know what you think. Click below:

Merry Christmas!

2013-12-25T01:25:00.000-05:00

Tis the season to be jolly and I hope that you are all in the best of spirits this holiday season. Whether or not you celebrate the Christmas holiday in particular, I hope that you use this time for reflection, giving thanks and being grateful to and for the ones you love. I for one am grateful for all of you; my supporters. Thank you for your interest in the work I put out. You all motivate me to continue my quest for greatness.

I'm currently back to work in the art studio and I've got some wonderful things brewing for 2014. I can't wait to share all of my upcoming projects with you all. DC Pop-Up Art Show

2012-10-20T10:01:00.001-04:00

So last night after going to see the The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which might I say was even more amazing that I'd imagined, I decided to take a walk to Chinatown and breathe in some parts of the city I've left behind as an adult. I started straight on F Street and noticed a large crowd of people waiting to get into a club but before them was a small group of people scattered about in front of an old club. I think it used to be Platinum. Anyway music was booming from the inside and the doors were wide open so I went and asked the nice man at the door "What's going on here?" and he proceeded to tell me what a pop-up art show was. Here is some of the awesomeness I discovered! Please take a look and leave comments!

Title: Carnival

Story: I became inspired to do a piece of work inspired by events synonymous with the summertime. I think you all would agree that the Carnival or any Carribbean celebration in your neck of the woods would top the list.
