Sharing a view of the moon;
I can feel your touch.
Slipping away so soon;
Full of love, so much.

Sharing reflections with our eyes;
Charged in raw emotion.
Full of love, neither denies;
Bound within true devotion.

Holding hands in the moonlight;
I feel you right here with me.
Sharing this wonderful sight;
Although, here, you cannot be.

As I Sit Here

As I sit here and wait,
for destiny to fill my fate;
I reach for the cemetery gate,
because love is too late.

As I sit here and wonder,
who it is that you are under;
I feel the burning heat of summer,
and remember your blunder.

As I sit here and think,
about who broke the link;
I tip the bottle for a final drink,
my eyes do not blink.

As I sit here and look,
around for the love you took;
I feel the point of the hook,
as I drown in the brook.

As I sit here and die,
as away from me, you fly;
I run away from the tears that I cry,
because I believed the lie.

The Struggle

Running away from myself;
The one I used to be.
Becoming something new;
A better version of me.
Tearing myself apart;
Stuffing down the pain.
Locked away in the dark;
Felling the everlasting drain.
To return back to this life;
With a grin and a smile.
Running continuously on;
Growing longer, mile after mile.
The sun shines down on me;
In my head is the dark storm.
In this life, I must be;
Somehow, I must conform.
I must control this rage;
Tuck it tightly away.
Choke it so far down;
So there it will stay.

Homestead Heaven

There is a little island,
in the lake of reality.
It is quite a small one,
with a population of none.

The lake is large and deep,
full of secrets, it must keep.
It's a long journey, I assure;
dark, lonely, with hardships endured.

If you don't drown in the lake,
a little solitude, you can make.
I made it here upon the sand,
I'm building a home on this island.

Death and dismay.

Military might;
In an ordinary man.
Looking without sight;
Into another day.
Taking Truth's light,
Into the ragged machine;
And Freedom is born; yet, again.

it submerges my soul.

So cold and unforgiving;

it freezes me to the bone.

it suffocates my life.

So heavy and stifling;

it cuts my air like a knife.

This water rushes over me;

it buries me from above.

So wet and unrelenting;

I'm drowning in your love.
