This poem was written in response to an anonymous interaction that felt intentionally harmful, or tried to be. On April 26, 2026, between 4:04 a.m. and 4:05 a.m. CST, an account under the username “DExWtSbs” assigned twelve separate 1-star ratings to all my posted poems within approximately two minutes before the account was later deleted. I chose to channel that experience into something reflective and constructive. “Negative Ninja” is about resilience in the face of pettiness; it acknowledges that failed hurtful actions often come from a place of personal struggle, insecurity, or pain. Instead of retaliating, the poem extends an unexpected response: forgiveness, strength, and even compassion. At its core, this poem is not about confrontation, but about reclaiming control; it reinforces the idea that negativity, especially when it hides behind anonymity, does not define the worth of creative expression. More importantly, it invites the source of that negativity, whoever they may be, to step out of the shadows and find a healthier path forward. This poem stands as both a personal affirmation and an open message: adversity can be transformed into understanding, and even those who attempt to cause harm are not beyond growth.
