This art is titled "The Virgin Spanking Christ" by German artist Max Earnest. In the painting there are 3 people on the left in a frame. This can mean perhaps the trinity, but are labeled as witnesses. These three people are Max Ernst, Andre Breton, and Paul Elard. Edgar Degas is a French artist (19 July 1834 – 27 September 1917) famous for his work in painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. This photo above is titled "Blue Dancers" is regarded as one of the founders of Impressionism although he rejected the term, and preferred to be called a realist. A superb draughtsman, he is especially identified with the subject of the dance, and over half his works depict dancers. These display his mastery in the depiction of movement, as do his racecourse subjects and female nudes. His portraits are considered to be among the finest in the history of art.
Early in his career, his ambition was to be a history painter, a calling for which he was well prepared by his rigorous academic training and close study of classic art. In his early thirties he changed course, and by bringing the traditional methods of a history painter to bear on contemporary subject matter, he became a classical painter of modern life.

Carmen Cicero Art

This photo titled "looking back" by Carmen Cicero and his eariler work made an impression in the art world. He joined the acclaimed Periodot Gallery on Madison Avenue in New York in 1957 and by 1965, Cicero had won two Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowships and a Ford Foundation prize, and was in important exhibitions at such venues as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. During 1950's studied at Hunter College. After a fire destroyed his studio and a large body of his work in 1971, he moved from New Jersey to New York City.Cicero returned to figurative expressionism in the later 1970s before embarking on a new approach to his work in the late 1980s: A kind of expression difficult to define and variously termed by critics as "fantasy," "mystery," "surrealism" and "visionary." These works produce a peculiar atmosphere, a strange, enigmatic spell—images that linger in the unconscious mind. Filled with beautiful pieces—watercolors, paintings, drawings, and collages—this fine book offers an expansive survey of the life work of Carmen Cicero.

Saolta Ban is an Hungarian artist. Her art work is breathtaking, and as she states on her website, she prefers that her pictures talk. In this photo a tree is sitting on a bench. This art really displays creativity and imagination by the artist to make an ordinary everyday object and make it special and interesting.

i keep knowing

last night
the fears of my mother came
knocking and when i
opened the door
they tried to explain themdelves

Tower of Pisa

Tower of Pisa stands at 60 metres and until 1990 was leaning at about a 10 degree angle.

Although it was designed to be perfectly vertical, it started to lean during construction. Tower of Pisa is one of the most remarkable architectural structures from medieval Europe. In 1964 on Feb 27, the government of Italy ask for help to keep the Leaning tower of Pisa from toppling over. In 2008, it was estimated that the tower would be stable for another 200 years.

Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide and attains a depth of over a mile (6,000 feet / 1,800 metres) For thousands of years, the area has been continuously inhabited by Native Americans who built settlements within the canyon and its many caves; it is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in the state of Arizona. On Feb 26, 1919 U.S. President Woodrow Wilson signs an act of U.S. Congress establishing most of Grand Canyon as a National Park. Also considered as one of the seven wonders of the world.

Last night I had the pleasure of being invited to a fashion runway show by Adrian Alicea know as "Haute Couture". Adrian Alicea work is inspired by his Puerto Rican and Taino roots,and all is work is done by hand himself making every outfit unique. The show was sexy, provocative, and entertaining with a lot of drama and attitude. This event was hosted at 160 central park west on the corner of 76thst, which happens to be The Church of the Divine Paternity Fourth Universalist Society.

Sir Isaac Newton Jan 04 (1643-1727) English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, Alchemist and theologian is considered by many to be the greatest and most influential scientist who ever lived. Published the 'Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica' ('Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy'). This showed how a universal force, gravity, applied to all objects in all parts of the universe.

DIGNITY: In Honor of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and the associated international exhibition, DIGNITY had this exhibit in may of 2011 at the Hilaneh von Kories Gallery. It is a testament/display of the ongoing struggle of indigenous peoples to survive. She has permanent collections at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
