The new Beyblade game for DS is certainly not light on features, not when it contain s a whopping 37 characters to play as and features hundreds of different combinations to create the most powerful Beyblade the world has ever seen! In Arcade mode you pick a team of three: so while one play-through could see you play as Gingka, Benkei and Masamune and play against Dashan Wang, Chiyun Li and Chaoxin in a best-of-three match, the next playthrough could see you play as Hyoma, Tsubasa and Kenta against Kyoya, Tsubasa and Nile.

Before each match you’re asked to ‘pour your spirit in the string launcher’ which is essentially you pressing X (Speed), A (Power) or B (Timing) at different times as fast as you can to power up the corresponding stat. Once you’ve got the hang of it you can easily get the maximum three-star rating for each stat before the beginning of a match. After winning a match, you’re rewarded with new parts to add to your collection for you to customise your very own (one of three) Beyblades for use in other modes – sweet!

There’s certainly a lot of gameplay to get to grips with in this DS Beyblade feast! If you’re a fan of the series, then this is an essential game to add to your wish-list. All the collecting, battling and unlockables will ensure that your spinning-top dreams come true… LET IT RIP!

This Shiny Larvitar knows the powerful Fighting-type move Superpower, which can only be learned in Pokémon HeartGold or Pokémon SoulSilver from a special tutor. It also comes holding a useful Chople Berry, which is difficult to obtain in the games. Larvitar can eventually evolve into Tyranitar, which, thanks to its strong stats and its Ability to kick up an unending Sandstorm, has been a very popular character since its introduction in Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version in 2000.

Get the popcorn popping because there are two brand new Pokémon movies coming to the USA on 3 April and the UK on 9 April. Even more exciting – they are both in the same pack! As you will know if you’re a big Pokémon fan, the Pokémon Black & White series movies come in two lavours: Pokémon The Movie White: Victini and Zekrom and Pokémon The Movie Black: Victini and Reshiram. The National Media Museum in Bradford is having a fun Moshi Monsters Half Term from Saturday 4 February through to Sunday 26 February. It’s free to get in and packed with fun Moshi activities to keep you busy on your school break. There will be Moshi Monster clay animation workshops using the cool Clay Buddies packs. Pop-up online Moshi stations for some online gaming and you can step into a Moshi world in their virtual media studio. Getting a Head Start

You can get a jump-start against the competition in these three attractions: Bulbasaur’s Daring Dash, Dusknoir’s Speed Slam, and Absol’s Hurdle Bounce. When the race begins, immediately press 2 on the Wii Remote to obtain a speed boost and better your chances of winning the race.

Unlimited Berries

Berries act as the main currency in PokéPark Wii. They allow you to compete in various at tractions. For only five Berries, you can max out your Berry supply at 9,999 by playing Venusaur’s Vine Swing over and over again. By obtaining a Pokémon’s target time, you will earn a bonus of 100 Berries.

Trial of Strength

These are skill games and are an important part of PokéPark Wii. They allow you to obtain Berries and befriend Pokémon to compete in the game’s 14 at tractions. There are a total of five skill games to compete in (as detailed on the next page).
