PokéBallerz playing Pokémon marathon for WaterAid

PokéBallerz, a group of University of York students who play video game marathons to raise money for charity, will be playing Pokémon Red, Silver and Emerald versions, Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Stadium 2 and the Pokémon Trading Card Game video game from June 13 to June 17 to raise money for WaterAid by streaming the marathon online on Twitch TV and receiving the donations through the site for which a hyperlink to is shown above.

Viewers who donate will be able to request for Pokémon to be caught and nicknamed. The six most donated Pokémon at any time will be used by the group in their Pokémon party and this will be updated regularly. Other donation requests are also available and donors will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win paintings of Pokémon.

Satoshi to battle Adeku Oct. 13

Televi magazine (also known as Terebi, among other names) revealed that the fifty-second episode of Pocket Monsters Best Wishes!, which will air on Oct. 13, will feature Satoshi and his Pikachu battling Champion Adeku and his Buffron. The episode will be called 「サトシVSチャンピオン・アデク！」 Satoshi VS Champion Adeku!.

As seen in the latest series of previews shown on Best Wishes!, also making its debut in the episode will be the Pokémon Gigaiath.

In English, Satoshi is known as Ash, Adeku is known as Alder, Buffron is known as Bouffalant, and Gigaiath is known as Gigalith.

Old Mansion Dream World event announced

The latest issue of Famitsu has announced a new Pokémon Dream World expansion for players with Japanese accounts.

The expansion, 「古びた洋館」 Old Mansion, comes with new Pokémon with Hidden Abilities, includingSpiritomb and Chimecho, obtainable through the location-exclusive mini-game 「ろうそく消し」 Candle Extinguishing. Available through the location also are new items and berries. A promotion for new Décor will also be available.

This promotion will be available starting Sept. 28.

Dub of 'Black Hero,' 'White Hero' to be released this December

The latest two Pokémon movies have had their English titles and release dates revealed on Pokémon.com.

「ビクティニと黒き英雄ゼクロム」 Victini and the Black Hero: Zekrom and ビクティニと白き英雄レシラム Victini and the White Hero: Reshiram will come out in the US in December with the titles Pokémon The Movie: White—Victini and Zekrom and Pokémon The Movie: Black—Victini and Reshiram, respectively.

The two movies are known collectively as 「劇場版ポケットモンスターベストウイッシュ The First Movie」 Theatrical Version - Pocket Monsters Best Wishes!: The First Movie. A corresponding English title has yet to be given.

Birthday Togekiss distributed internationally

Last December, a male Togekiss with its Hidden Ability, Super Luck, was made available to players of Pokémon Black and White Versions who were members of the Pokémon Daisuki Club during their month of birth.

As discovered by Bulbagarden moderator Bluesun, seemingly without any announcement, the same Togekiss has been released internationally. There have been no known advertisements for this promotion on the official Pokémon site.

Dutch playday to give away Zoroark: Pokédex 3D featured in 3DS demonstration

This Sept. 18, a "playday" will be held in Hoorn in the Netherlands. At this event, players will be able to download a Zoroark. The event provides Nintendo 3DS systems for people to try. Visitors will also be able to take photos with Terrakion via Pokédex 3D.

Zoroark, Deerling C-Gear skins available

The Pokémon Global Link has begun distributing several C-Gear skins today.

North American players have access to a Zoroark-themed C-Gear skin. The password is stated to be revealed Sept. 7, 2011 on a special page found on Pokémon.com. The skin will be available for download from Aug. 31, 2011 to Jan. 11, 2012.

Likewise, a C-Gear skin of Deerling in its Spring Form has been released for Japanese players with no password required. All other players have access to the same skin, but require a password to access it. Its password has been revealed on Pokémon.com to be JJW2X97D. This skin will be available from Sept. 1, 2011 to Oct. 5, 2011

Pokémon Center to open in Sendai

The Pokémon Company announced on Saturday that they will be opening "Pokémon Center Tohoku": a "Pokemon Center" store in the earthquake-hit Sendai City this winter. The new store will be the first of its kind in the Tohoku region (the northeastern part of mainland Japan which was devastated by the earthquake earlier this year). The store will be located in the Aer Skyscraper, the tallest building in the region. According to creators, the goal of the new store is to create a place for all children in the region to come together and smile.

The Pokémon franchise in America celebrates this month with various releases featuring one of the first Generation V Pokémon to be revealed: Zoroark.

Highlighting this event is the weekly Zoroark Sweepstakes available to all legal residents of the fifty states of America, as well as the District of Columbia, from Sept. 6 to Oct. 3. Physiology

Pidgeotto is a large raptor-like bird. While its primary color is brown, its plumage is much more elaborate than its pre-evolution, Pidgey. Its head-crest is much longer than Pidgey's and is a reddish color. The plumage of its tail is also quite colorful, alternating between red and yellow. Other than its ornamental plumage, its basic coloration is similar to Pidgey, with pinkish-gray feet and black markings around its eyes. Pidgeotto has powerful talons to grasp prey so these claws can inflict a lot of damage.

Gender differences

None.

Special abilities

As well as being a powerful flier, it is capable of carrying prey several miles to its nest. Pidgeotto have an amazing sense of sight and hearing. Its eyesight is so good that it can spot a Caterpie from several miles up in the air.

Behavior

After evolution, Pidgeotto assumes a predatory niche. It claims a sprawling territory (more than 60 miles) and will fiercely defend it from intruders. One must be careful when moving through the territory of a Pidgeotto; while there is no evidence that they would attack a human, their sharp claws could cause a lot of damage. Although its nest is usually in the center of its territory, it circles its territory throughout the day, looking out for prey and intruders.

Habitat

Pidgeotto typically dwell in forests with thick growth and large trees. They need a lot of space, and are very territorial, so it can be assumed that their territories usually do not overlap. They are most common in Kanto and Johto.

Diet

Pidgeotto, although omnivorous like most Pokémon, appears to prefer preying on other Pokémon such as Exeggcute. Both the anime and Pokémon Adventures have shown it attempting to eat a main character's Caterpie. Pidgeotto are known to prey on Magikarp by catching them in mid-jump.

Shelmet and Karrablast at Pokémon Adventure Camp

Pokémon will be making a special appearance at this month's GuilFest Festival in Guildford. Go to the Pokémon Adventure Camp at GuilFest and you'll be able to get your hands on Shelmet and Karrablast for Pokémon Black and White plus some Augmented Reality Markers for Pokédex 3D.

Although those who were at Glastonbury may have spotted a Pikachu flag in front of the Pyramid stage, this will be the first time Pokémon have officially appeared at a festival.

If you're attending GuilFest it's worth paying a visit to the Pokémon Adventure Camp as Pokédex 3D will be there and thanks to the Augemented Reality Markers, you can be photographed next to a life-size 3D animated Pokémon.

Also, Nintendo has confirmed that Augmented Reality Markers for Pokédex 3D will be available to collect for the first time at the festival.

Yet it's not all about 3DS. DS owners will be able to get the Pokémon Shelmet and Karrablast only at GuilFest for Pokémon Black and Pokémon White. Pokémon players will be able to trade their Shelmet and Karrablast at the festival and see them evolve.

That's not all. There is also a special screening of the Pokémon: Zoroark: Master of Illusions movie.

The movie will be screened on the Saturday and Sunday morning at the Vintage Fayre. The three Unova Starter Pokémon - Tepig, Oshawott and Snivy - will also be there along with Pikachu. Visitors can have their picture taken with their favourite Pokémon character and have their face painted.

Special concept artwork from Pokémon White and Pokémon Black will also be on show.

There is also a Battle Test where fans can compete with experts and friends for the top spot on the leader board.

There is also an official Pokémon adventure cap for those who pick up a training card on entry to GuilFest and complete their training for each area.

Pokémon plush dolls at Europe

Toys New Online, a toys industry's trade website, officially announce that Tomy has made a deal with Pokémon Company which will see it roll out a line of plush characters across Europe from September. The plush to be modeled will be from the starter Pokémon introduced in the Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version Nintendo DS games together with Pikachu.

The interactive talking plush dolls will be release starting with Pikachu to be release this fall 2011 while snivey, Tepig and Oshawott in January 2012.

McDonald Japan Released Hydreigon and Golurk

McDonald Japan is releasing a Hydreigon of Karita and Golurk of Janta for your Nintendo DS. This is for the upcoming Pokemon Movie for 2011. You can only receive only one of the pokemon where Hydreigon can be get on Black and Golurk will be on white.

This coming July 8th- 10th will be a big event for Pokémon ™ Trading Card Game and video game players for Pokemon U.S. National Championship Finals and will meet up on Indianapolis, Indiana. The players who will win the event will be moved to 2011 Pokémon World Championships in San Diego, California, this coming August.

The championship is the major event of Pokémon franchise. The championship includes the Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games for the Nintendo DS™ family of systems, a brand-new Pokémon TCG: Black & White expansion, and the imminent debut of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online that will allow Pokémon TCG fans to battle head to head, anytime, anywhere.

Now only the top Regional finalists remain to compete at the Pokémon Video Game National Championships for 24 spots at the 2011 Pokémon Video Game World Championships in San Diego, California, August 12th-14th.

Divided equally among the Junior Division (born in 2000 or later), the Senior Division (born in 1996, 1997, 1998, or 1999) and the new Masters Division (born in 1995 or earlier), the Regional finalists will battle head to head playing the recently released, top-selling Pokémon Black Version or Pokémon White Version video game.

Players who finish in the top eight in each division at the Pokémon Video Game National Championships will receive invitations to the 2011 Pokémon Video Game World Championships in San Diego, California, August 12th-14th, with the top four winners receiving paid travel and accommodations. At the Pokémon World Championships, U.S. video game players will battle against top players from Europe, Japan, and South Korea.

Top Pokémon Video Game National Championship finishers also receive medals and a Nintendo 3DS™ system.

Pokémon Trading Card Game National Championships

More than 1,500 players are expected to attend the 8th annual Pokémon Trading Card Game National Championships, the culmination of the nine-month Pokémon TCG season in the United States.

Competitors from across the United States in the Junior Division (born in 2000 or later), the Senior Division (born in 1996, 1997, 1998, or 1999), and the Masters Division (born in 1995 or earlier) will battle during the three-day tournament that is open to all U.S.-resident TCG players in good standing in the Play! Pokémon program. Players do not need to qualify for the Pokémon TCG National Championships; however, there will be a limited number of slots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration for the Pokémon TCG National Championships will take place on Thursday, July 7th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Friday, July 8th, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., at the Indiana Convention Center.

Players who finish in the top eight in each division will receive invitations to the 2011 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championships in San Diego, California, August 12th-14th, with the top four winners receiving paid travel and accommodations to Southern California. There, U.S. Pokémon TCG players will battle against top players from more than 25 countries all around the world.
