Harry Reid is a senate majority leader who is attempting to fight congress in a move to legalize online poker in an attempt to enact legislation. The bill that Harry is attempting to circulate is funded by Large Casino Giants. He mentioned that this bill would provide some financial protection to online poker players as well as put some extra money in the pockets of the state and federal governments so he argued on this basis that it would be a win win scenario. However the Republican's aren't so anxious as Harry Reid is to get this bill passed and they sent him a letter saying that they were against this bill. Republican Spencer Bachus thinks that that passing this bill will only end up taking advantage of the weak and desparate and that the extra funds sent to the government would just use these funds to cover more spending by the government.

Right now the bill states that only established casinos, slot machine manufacturers and horse tracks will be able to operate online gambling sites and just for 2 years after the bill passes. The proposed taxes on all these wagers would both be sent to federal and state governments. I'm not really sure what impact if any this bill would have in the effort of legalizing online poker, it seems that everyone who wants to do it is already doing it, there's only about 4,000 books on how to win at online gambling already.

This book is more of a soup to nuts solution with the intention of shaping players win. One thing you should be aware of is that this book already assumes that you play poker pretty well. Since this book isn't geared towards the beginning poker player about 90% of beginners strategies are thrown right out the window. But don't look for lots of rudimentary information because you won't find it here. Many of these popular poker concepts are just used for filler and you won't find that type of filler information in this book.
