Party Poker Monster, I’m in!

Oh Yes, finally conquered my Head to Head phobia and won through to a 100K Party Poker Monster ‘Freeroll’.

Once I got to the Head to Head play the key difference this time around was concentration. I was determined not to let the guy win; however, at the beginning he had twice my chips.

Played tight and very aggressive when I had something. Ground the guy down… doubled up and then crushed… a nice feeling as this had been happening to me… a lot!

So things looking good for my missions as I’m at Stage 2 for Poker Classic and have qualified for 100K monster. Also got two Freeroll's for the Pacific Poker UK Open.

I’m thinking about adding WSOP 2007 qualification to my list as I’ve spotted that Pacific Poker are now running qualifiers where if you qualify you also get entry into a WSOP $1,500 NL Holdem event; adds a nice twist and there not many people playing in the qualifiers.

Another day another Head to Head loss!!!!! Entered two Sit&Go qualifiers today, one for Monster and one for Poker Classic. Got Head to Head in both…

I’m sure this all might be down to ‘tilt’. For the Poker Classic as we entered the Head to Head phase I had twice the chips. The other guy doubled up through me with a flush on the river at which point I lost it and started playing all sorts of rubbish. Donkey!

Much the same for the Monster. Got to love Party Poker, so far the Monster ‘Freeroll’ has cost me few hundred bucks.

Been in 3 Sit&Go Party Poker Million, 2 PokerRoom Stage 1 and 1 PokerRoom Stage 2 head to head situations today and lost the lot…

Now that is enough to tilt a man horizontal!! I’ve read Doyle Brunson on this, “tight but loose” is his suggestion.

Well F£$%^&*(cking Bo£$%^&cks is all I can say!

Each PokerRoom Sit&Go took about 1 hour to get to head to head and then to loose the lot. Party was marginally better as the Monster Sit&Go’s fly along.

Well better not play anymore poker today, far too wired, think I’ll go and throw myself around the room instead.

Added a current mission statement to let you know what I’m up to:

Pacific Poker UK Poker Open III: $500,000 prize pool held between 25th September to 8th October. Got three routes through to this, Freeroll held on 2nd September, qualifying for another Freeroll via Whichpoker.com whereby I need to get 250 comp points (currently on 185) and last of all buy into one of Pacific Pokers UK Open Qualifiers $105.

PokerRoom Ongame Poker Classic: $5 million prize pool, Online Final 4th Nov. There are two routes to this one Sit&Go steps, already qualified to stage 2 but blew it so starting again. Also going to try get in via the MTT’s direct buy in to stage 2 $54.

Party Poker Monster: I reckon this is going to be the biggest tournaments of all time… the guys behind this are geniuses. First qualify for $100K weekly Freeroll and be in top 2,000. That’ll qualify you for monthly $1million.

Got a Freeroll for the Pacific Poker UK Open, not sure how many other people are going to qualify for this as the registration doesn’t start until 30th August. The tournament is on 2nd September.

I’m assuming there’ll be 1,000’s of qualifiers but who knows? Anyway I’ll be there.

Well I’ve made it to stage 2 which is a $68 Sit&Go winner goes onto stage 3, 2nd place gets another crack at it plus $7.

Needless to say I got heads up with a guy who had double my stack, had a real go at him but couldn’t break him down. Oh well, I’ll just have to do stage 2 all over again.

Well that’s your luck.. just as I finished putting pen to paper on the last blog I got Head to Head on both a PokerRoom Ongame Poker Classic Sit&Go and a PartyPoker Monster 100K Sit&Go.

Well the room that I find the hardest I won and qualified for stage 2, PokerRoom, and the room I enjoy most, Party Poker I came second and got my money back.

Sooo, onto Stage 2, a $68 buy in Sit&Go. Gonna leave that a couple days until I’m ready for it.

Next stop Monster 100K Qualification.

Going tournament crazy with this to; although like Party Poker’s Monster can’t get passed first base. Trying to get in via the Sit and Go’s. Stage 1 goes onto Stage 2 onto Stage 3. Stage 3 winner get’s $5,000 buy to main event.

Anyway can’t get past stage 1 so won’t be seeing any of you at the main event.

Lol, got to read Doyle Brunson’s ‘Super System’… my super system has me beat all the time. Problem is I’m a gambler at heart and find it hard to not to play the cards.

This is obviously a major flaw in poker playing…

I’ve gone Tournament mad. Trying to Qualify for a Party Poker Monster Weekly $100K. I’m currently playing on the Monster Qualifier NL Holdem $11 Buy In but as usual I’m playing like a jerk/fish/donkey and can’t qualify.

I’m watching the Party Poker Monster Jackpot ticker go up and up and I’m guessing these guys at Party know what there doing… I’ve put my fair share into it I can tell you.

Been over in Las Vegas for a bit mainly to watch the WSOP Main Event. However, you know what it’s like… best laid plans and all. It’s just Vegas gets to you.

One minute you plan to attend the WSOP in Vegas the next minute WHAM! Your weeks up and your not entirely sure what you’ve been up to for the last week except that your seriously SKINT!

Played a bit, Drunk a bit, Played a bit, Drunk a bit, Played a bit, Drunk a bit…24/7!

Anyway back to reality and it’s painful.

Party Poker V Poker Speed Madness!

Just won another $77 Texas Holdem Speed Sit and Go at Party Poker collecting $350. Feeling good about my game plan went onto Pacific Poker for some Heads Up action. Won three games in a row, two $30 and a $50, soooooo moved back to Party Poker for the Speed $109 Texas Holdem Speed Sit and Go.

Then I moved to Bad Beat City:

Game 1: Dealt QQ on first hand, a few bets slip in giving a nice healthy pot, then one guy goes All In, can’t resist it I go All In… done by AA.

Game 2:Dealt KcKd on first hand, a few bets slip in giving a nice healthy pot, then one guy goes All In, can’t resist it I go All In… he’s got AcQh.

River: [ 5h ]

Game 3: On tilt gone to play $215 speed table.

Shouldn’t have done that… Oh well that’s the last weeks work undone!

Not feeling to clever, broke one of the basic rules of gambling of any sort… Don’t go chasing loses.

I just can’t get enough… GOTTA FEED MY SPEED POKER ADICTION… anyway on to today’s action and as usual it’s a Party Poker Sit and Go, this time gone a bit higher and played in a $77 buy in.

I went all fishy at the start calling everything in site while the buy in’s where small and my stack large. A risky strategy I hear you say… well it isn’t if you’re careful, you can catch a slice of cheap nice action and everyone else at the table will think you’re mad… (I probably am! LOL!). Needless to say I didn’t catch any action and had significantly reduced my stack so I tightened up my game.

The game went smoothly ebbing and flowing from then. Kept my concentration high and whittled down the table so that I was heads up with ndjuren.

This is where the fun really started… tried to play aggressive but ndjuren was up to the task. In the end it came down to this:

I’m Big Blind and its $1,200 antes $50. ndjuren has $10,092 and I’ve $9,908.

Just come across Mr Angry playing a $55 Texas Holdem Sit and Go at Party Poker. He’s got a user tag of ‘shivalseki’. I’ve come across some banter or to use a cricket term ‘slating’ before but this guy took it to extremes.

Swearing calling me a ‘F@cking fish’ etc etc. Anyway, he kind of made the game even sweeter when he dropped out in third. I finally came in first scooping $250.

He first got angry (tilting) when we both went All-In. shivalseki claimed he had 'AA' in the chat box which got me thinking...
