PoliceFireEMS was on the scene of 25 Bible Street in Greenwich for a small structure fire Thursday evening. The fire department responded to 25 Bible Street to observe smoke from the side of the residence. The district chief on scene confirmed a working fire. The fire was mainly contained to a laundry dryer on the 3rd floor, a floor rug was also engulfed. Both were extinguished within minutes. No injuries were reported.

NORWALK, Conn. – A blazing inferno has destroyed a 3-story condo building in Norwalk and displaced many people, according to Rick Reardon, a citizen at the scene. Reardon describes it as one of the largest complexes in Norwalk, and many people have been displaced. Firefighters found the building on Oakwood Avenue fully involved upon their arrival at about 6 a.m. “The biggest challenge they had when they got there was to make sure they got all the people out,” Reardon said.

Live ammunition in one of the back apartments complicated firefighters’ efforts. Fire crews and ambulances from surrounding areas responded to the scene. Wilton and New Canaan sent crews. “There were actually firefighters on their way to work who stopped at the fire,” he said. “They used their new 1500-feet feeder hose.”

Greenwich CT – Abis Restaurant – Working Fire (12/21/2011)

Greenwich Fire Department responded to an initial call from a resident and an off-duty police officer reporting smoke in the restaurant and smoke/flames emitting from the roof of the building. The fire extended up through the ventilation system in the kitchen of the restaurant and into the cockloft, where the fire came through the roof and extended into D exposure side.

Saugatuck Congregational Church – Structure Fire – (11/20/11)

The various Fire Departments that responded did an amazing job in saving the Sanctuary and Steeple of this 179 year old church despite having water supply issues. Departments on scene included Norwalk, Fairfield, Weston and Wilton Fire Departments.

25 Almira Drive Structure Fire (9/16-17/2011) – Greenwich, CT

Dispatched were E1, T1, E3, E4 to 25 Almira Drive for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, it was a confirmed working fire. Flames were quickly doused. Trucks were on scene from arrival (11:45pm) and were on scene until approx 4:30am.
