Huh?

Yeah, you heard that right. After the recent cold snap (Atlanta has been shut down for 5 days) many people with whom I have spoken, and even some people on television have begun to beat a different type of global warming drum. Their excuse for the recent cold weather is that, “Global Warming is Causing Global Cooling“.

Now if that isn’t a stark contradiction, then I have never heard one in my life. However, before I poke too much fun at them, they truly believe that this is true. They are convinced that global warming has caused the ice caps to melt, cooling the ocean currents and causing the recent extreme winter weather events. Therefore “Global Warming is Causing Global Cooling“.

Let’s play devil’s advocate here. If the previously laid out scenario is indeed the case, and global warming is causing the ice caps to melt, resulting in global cooling, then wouldn’t logic say that the ice caps would begin to freeze again because of the colder temperatures? Hell, maybe we have had so much global warming, that we have set ourselves on an unavoidable collision course with the next ice age?

It wasn't that long ago that we were freaking out about the coming Ice Age

Is Global Cooling the Reason for the Moderate Hurricane Seasons the Past 5 years?

I remember that even the great Nostradamus predicted Hurricane Katrina was the result of an unavoidable trend of increasingly severe tropical cyclones. These storms would continue to get worse and worse until we reached the point that life as we know it would cease to exist. As an avid follower of weather in general, I have noticed one trend that NOAA seems to proclaim year in and year out. Their last 5 hurricane season forecasts have stated that we were to have an extraordinary amount of powerful storms, many of which would make landfall in the U.S.

You know what? Much to the chagrin of the doom and gloom crowd, the last 5 seasons have been extremely moderate.

So is global warming causing global cooling, thereby reducing the severity of tropical storms, but increasing the severity of winter storms, as a result of the cooler currents, because of the melting ice caps, that may freeze back up because of the impending ice age caused by global warming? (quite a mouthful…..I know)

Global Warming and Global Cooling are Natural Trends

Let’s face it. People in today’s day and age need an excuse to freak out. (See Swine Flu Epidemic Declared Over)

I know that we have had summers that have been much warmer than normal recently, even portrayed as “The Hottest Ever”. However, what the global warming crowd doesn’t seem to acknowledge is the fact that the Earth has constantly been in a state of climate change. Even if we continue to be on a warming trend, it is probably a very natural type of thing. I will leave you with this snippet, which basically says that we do not know what the hell is going on.

As an authoritative review by the Heartland Institute of two international-scientist surveys shows, there is no consensus:

“The question most people are most keen to ask climate scientists is probably ‘do you agree or disagree that climate change is mostly the result of anthropogenic (manmade) causes?’” writes Heartland, summarizing the 2003 survey. “Slightly more than half (55.8 percent) of climate scientists surveyed agreed, 14.2 percent were unsure, and 30 percent disagreed. Interestingly, more scientists ‘strongly disagree’ than ‘strongly agree’ that climate change is mostly the result of anthropogenic causes. The survey clearly shows that the debate over why the climate is changing is still underway, with nearly half of climate scientists disagreeing with what is often claimed to be the ‘consensus’ view.”

***2,428,943 people declared that life as we know it is over due to Global Cooling after reading this article.

My Response to my friend about the Obama repeal of the Bush Tax Cuts

Okay. Now that you have posted the propoganda with the pretty bubbles, a few questions for you.

1) First and foremost, how do you figure that there is going to be a middle class tax cut? That is the biggest falsehood in the world. You seem to forget that George Bush (AKA the Devil) is the one who lowered all tax brackets to their current levels, ie. 28% to 25%, 31% to 28%, and 15% to 10%. So Obama isn’t “lowering” taxes at all, but only keeping them where they are. How is that “holding a middle class tax cut” hostage, or even lowering taxes in the first place?

2) I am still figuring out how people making $1,000,000 a year will save 100k, if the marginal tax rate were to increase by 4.9% on the top tax bracket? Is my math failing me, or isn’t that $49,000.

3) Okay……that is a good idea. Go ahead and tax that person $49,000 additional dollars. Did you know that they majority of people making that type of cash are business owners? You know, those same people who have employees? Gee, I wonder if the person who gets laid off because the employer gets their taxes increased will enjoy becoming an addition to the 10% unemployment pool. I bet that they will be really happy with their middle class tax bracket if they aren’t earning any money.

4) I wonder if it will help the stock market if everybody’s long term capital gains will be increasing from 15% to 20%? That will mitigate some of the upside of the market, and you will see the stock market losses over the next few weeks as a result of everybody selling their stock to save the 5% on their capital gains. So if the market drops by 10-15%, and the upside is limited, how do you think that a middle class person with 100k in retirement savings will enjoy losing $10,000 of those stock market returns. (Especially if they are one of the people who were laid off because the Small Business owner in #3 had to let them go as a result of the increased taxes).

5) I am sure that those who are middle class and have retired after working 40+ years will enjoy the tax rates on their dividends increasing. Many retirees rely on company dividends for income will see the taxes on those earnings move from 15% to ordinary income rates. I am sure that they will enjoy losing 10% of their earning power go out the window.

I could go on, but those are a few things that the colorful globes in the video from whitehouse.gov don’t seem to mention for some reason.

That is right….I said it. In hindsight, the gulf oil spill is beginning to look like another story that was over exaggerated (See Swine Flu Declared Over) in order to whip the public into a frenzy, when in fact it never was as bad as it was reported. As a matter of fact, I think that the media owes the residents of the gulf coast a big apology, and come to think of it even Tony Hayward deserves amends for the coverage of this cataclysmic disaster.

Gulf Residents should be furious

During the course of the spill, I made a point to ask numerous people who live on the coast to give their personal input into what they have seen first hand. The answer that I received was generally that they saw no ill effects, except for the fact that the beaches and resort towns were deserted. They took it a step further and were very frustrated due to the fact that the only real damage was to the economy of the area. Tourism, Fishing, and other recreational activities were non existent, making these businesses the true casualties of the Gulf Oil Spill.

Thanks to the media coverage, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more people sunbathing in the Russian city of Chernobyl this year than spending time on the gulf coast.

Even I bought into the Act

As readers of this site know, I bought into the hysteria as well. It was hard not to do with the beating of the media drum 24/7 about the impact of the spill.

However, I started to become skeptical when I kept on seeing the same picture an oil coated pelican floating in a pool of crude. I saw the same picture on the cover of Newsweek, Time, and every other supposed “news” magazines. As a matter of fact, I heard that this pelican has been swarmed with offers for interviews, and even a new reality television show about its experience during the spill.

Tony Heyward is another victim

The beleaguered Tony Heyward is another victim of the spill. Don’t get me wrong, he is not beyond reproach for what happened, but to hear the coverage, you would think that he strapped on a wetsuit and planted the explosive that caused the DeepWater rig to explode.

BP has poured a large amount of money into the clean up for the disaster, and tried to do the right thing, but he was still held up there as the poster child for all that is evil in the corporate world. He was even chastised for taking a day off to sail on his boat, while Obama avoids criticism for playing golf more often than Tiger Woods.

Obama deserves praise for his recent actions

Barack Obama did a great thing when he took his family down to the gulf coast this weekend to show support for the tourism down there. He even took it a step further by getting into the water with his daughter for a swim, which should provide amble evidence that a dip in the gulf will not cause immediate and painful death. Kudos to the president…..

What have I learned?

Unfortunately, I have learned yet again that the media in this country will not hesitate to overplay a story in order to get more eyeballs on the screen. As a result, I think that we will have to start doing more research into the news stories that break to avoid buying into another Armageddon like the gulf oil spill.

Here is the official press release from the WHO

GENEVA — The World Health Organization declared the swine flu pandemic officially over Tuesday, months after many national authorities started canceling vaccine orders and shutting down hot lines as the disease ebbed from the headlines.

WHO Director-General Margaret Chan said the organization’s emergency committee of top flu experts advised her that the pandemic had “largely run its course” and the world is no longer in phase six — the highest influenza alert level.

“I fully agree with the committee’s advice,” Chan told reporters in a telephone briefing from her native Hong Kong.

The virus has now entered the “post-pandemic” phase, meaning disease activity around the world has returned to levels usually seen for seasonal influenza, she said.

But Chan cautioned against complacency, saying that even though hospitalizations and deaths have dropped sharply, countries should still keep a watchful eye for unusual patterns of infection and mutations that might render existing vaccines and antiviral drugs ineffective.

“It is likely that the virus will continue to cause serious disease in younger age groups,” she said, urging high-risk groups such as pregnant women to continue seeking vaccination.

Swine Flu? Rings a bell somehow.

Oh yeah, now I remember……the swine flu. That was supposed to be the next flu pandemic, and it dominated headlines for the better part of a year. We stockpiled vaccines, and avoided the general public so we wouldn’t be infected. After all, not only would the swine flu cause instant death, but it would also cause you to grow a long snout and live in filth as well.

According to the World Health Organization, it is not a threat anymore

Was it ever really a threat, or is this just another crisis in the constant stream of planetary killers that the media is so kind as to impose upon us?

The final tally is that nearly 20,000 people died as the result of the H1N1 virus, which is an afterthought when compared to the nearly 200,000 worldwide who die as a result of the flu each and every year. So you may ask yourself, “What the hell was all of the hand wringing all about”?

I hate to say it, but a good crisis attracts eyeballs to television shows, and readers to the daily papers, so I am of the opinion that the media has never seen a crisis that it didn’t enjoy. And better yet, if there isn’t a real crisis for the media to whip up into a frenzy, then why don’t we just make one up?

Wasn’t the Swine Flu George Bush’s Doing?

Actually, I may know just what happened. Since George W. Bush caused global warming, Hurricane Katrina, and the 9/11 attacks, maybe the swine flu was just another one of his clever ruses. I am positive that Bush created the swine flu, and it was only due to the fact that he left office that spared our world from a tremendous catastrophe!

Now if this isn’t a damn farce, I don’t know what is.

According to the president of the NAACP, Ben Jealous, the Tea Party is chock full of racist people bent on harming African-Americans. Speaking at the organization’s annual convention this week, Mr. Jealous let loose on the Tea Party folks: “Here comes the genetic descendent of the White Citizens Council, burst from its coffin, carrying signs and slogans like ‘Lynch Barack Hussein Obama’ … ”

As we mentioned in a previous post about the Tea Party’s Racism, or the lack there of, they are absolutely fabricating the whole thing. I have yet to see any evidence of anyone at a tea party rally carrying any sign that has “Lynch Barack Hussein Obama”. However, to me, the proof that there is no such thing is the fact that it hasn’t been shown in a single photograph yet. As a matter of fact, if anyone has ever had any aspiration to being featured on the cover of NewsWeek, here are some sure fire steps to get on the front cover.

How to get on the cover of every mainstream news publication in the United States

Make a Sign that says “Lynch Barack Hussein Obama”

Find the nearest Tea Party Rally

Go there

When you get there, take the sign out and hold it up for between 3-5 minutes

Yell loudly

Leave the Tea Party Rally

Wait one week

Go to your neighborhood news stand, and choose between Newsweek, Time, the New York Times, Rolling Stone, and at least 20 other mainstream publications that have your photo on the cover with the label, “Tea Party Racist”

Now that you are officially the most hated person in America, make sure that you change phone numbers, hire private security, keep your children out of school for the next 6 months, and call in sick to work (I know that if you like the Tea Party, you have a job)

You wanna find Racism? Look at the NAACP

Thats right……the door swings both ways. I am not doubting that there are still white idiots who are holding on to these archaic beliefs as well, but the most glaring way of race baiting in todays society can be awarded to organizations like the NAACP…..

They sit there and bitch and moan and complain about their sad state of affairs, and seem to never tire of blaming the white man. As a matter of fact, if they spend 1/4 of the time trying to develop a real solution to their troubles, than complaining about white people, they wouldn’t have any of the problems that they seem to claim to have today. And yet strangely enough, as most whites vehemently denounce racism, these morons turn a blind eye to people like this dumbass who recently went on a rant about how he would love to kill crackers, and especially their babies.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the one, the only King Samir Shabazz!

Now take a look at this little twerp, King Samir Shabazz (no it isn’t a character from the Lion King, that’s his “real” name)….this fine young man is also the one who was brandishing a night stick at the polling station during the election of 2008. He is every bit as bad as any Klan member, but for some reason, he flies under the radar when the NAACP are decrying racism every single time………hypocrites…….

There is an old addage that reads, “If you see something in other people that you hate, you need to take a closer look at yourself, for that is where the problem tends to lie”.

That’s exactly what the NAACP needs to do. Take a close look into their actions, and their own lack of condemnation of groups like the black panthers and King Samir Shabazz. But noooooo……let’s instead spend all of our time condemning that damn racist tea party…….

We should all do the same thing….white, black, brown, green…..

We should all uniformly condemn everybodywho exhibits any type of racist behavior. If we team up against these idiots instead of making blanket assumptions about races in general, then we will be way ahead of the game.

How they have tried to stop the Leak

BY MID-JULYADDING MORE CAPACITY

By mid-July, BP expects to have a total of four vessels on site to collect and process oil and gas. The Q4000 will be replaced by another vessel, Toisa Pisces, which will be connected to one of two floating risers that can be disconnected in the event of a hurricane

JUNE 16-CAPTURING MORE OIL

A second containment system has begun siphoning oil and gas from the leaking well. BP estimates the system will carry 5,000 to 10,000 barrels a day to the surface, supplementing the roughly 15,000 barrels collected daily by a containment cap on top of the blowout preventer.

Using equipment originally put in place to inject heavy drilling mud during the failed “top kill” procedure last month, the new system extracts oil and gas directly from the blowout preventer, passes it through a manifold on the seafloor and pipes it up to the Q4000 surface vessel.

The Q4000 has no storage capacity and will burn the oil and gas.

Source: BP

JUNE 4—-BEGINNING TO CAPTURE SOME OIL

A cap placed over the upper portion of the leaking well was funneling some oil and gas to a surface ship, though oil continued to billow from under the lip and through four open vents on top of the device. Methanol is being pumped into the cap to prevent the formation of icy hydrates that could block the mile-long pipe rising from the cap. Engineers hope to capture more oil by progressively closing the cap vents.

MAY 31—-ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO CAP THE WELL

After the failure of the top kill operation, BP began a new operation to cap the well. The damaged pipe will be cut from the blowout preventer, and a dome will be lowered over it to catch the spewing oil.

MAY 26—–THE TOP KILL AND JUNK SHOT

BP tried two more operations, called the “junk shot” and the “top kill,” to stop the gushing oil. In the “top kill,” heavy drilling liquid is pumped into the well until the weight of the liquid overcomes the pressure of the rising oil. The “junk shot” involves injecting objects like golf balls to clog the blowout preventer, the stack of valves at the top of the well.

Oil spills suck, and obviously have no winners whatsoever. In this case, it is damaging the environment, has instituted a new policy of not drilling offshore, and worst of all, it is being politicized by the Obama administration. As the gusher continues to spew on the gulf floor, it seems that the government is pointing their finger at BP, as opposed to helping to solve the problem.

Stop politicizing the spill and DO SOMETHING!

Here is a thought Obama administration. Get off your ass and stop blaming BP, and start doing everything in your power to fix this damn leak! Are you telling me that the United States, with all of it’s technology and innovation, can’t come up with one single thing to help? Why the hell have we created a bureaucracy for every little idea, like a “Green Jobs Czar”, and get on the ball with a solution for this problem.

New Poll Finds Spill Anger Growing

More than a month after the gulf oil spill, most Americans find BP’s handling of the situation as severely lacking. However, BP isn’t the only one drawing fire about the spill. Americans disapprove of the Obama administration’s handling of the spill, according to a new CBS News poll.

According to CBS News:

Seven in 10 of those polled disapprove of how BP has handled the spill. Forty-five percent disapprove of the Obama administration’s handling of the spill while 35 percent approve. President Obama’s overall job approval rating is 47 percent while 43 percent express disapproval.

The telephone poll, conducted Thursday through Monday with 1,054 adults, has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Is this the Excuse Obama Needs to Cease Drilling Offshore?

Over the past decade, the oil and gas industry has been demonized by the people on the left as no industry ever has…..maybe with the exception of the tobacco industry. However, oil and gas are not only a vital part of the U.S. economy, but they also are a key component of the overall security of the United States itself. After all, don’t forget that way back in the 1940′s, it is believed that the Japanese attacked the U.S as the result of an oil embargo.

Obama would rather golf than come up with a solution

So if oil and gasoline is so important, why on earth would we start to cut back on exploration and drilling offshore? You know that all of the other countries currently drilling in the gulf sure as hell aren’t going to quit their own oil efforts. However, since we are obviously so cautious about public perception about anything, why don’t we get to the root cause.

You know the sad thing……..Obama won’t do a thing until this problem is fixed. He played golf twice this week since he was obviously so concerned. When it is resolved, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the President take credit for stopping it after the fact….

Specter’s flip flop bites him in the ass

I guess that switching parties in a constant search for political relevancy just doesn’t do the trick. On Tuesday, Pennsylvania voters kicked Arlen Specter to the curb in the Democratic Senate primary. Hell, even Barack Obama, AKA. the messiah, came to Pennsylvania to campaign on his behalf. Yet he lost the primary. If this isn’t well deserved justice, then I don’t know what is.

By sending home this politician, it gives a clear signal that voters have had enough of politicians whose only purpose in public service is to use their seat as a platform for personal gain. Politicians who will do anything, and say anything to get elected are getting ready to go the way of the passenger pigeon. So Benedict Specter……..exit stage right!

Final Tally on Arlen Spector's Primary Defeat

Charlie Crist, you are next!

Are you paying close attention Charlie? If I were you, I would make sure that you have some hobbies lined up, as you are getting ready to have quite a bit of free time on your hands. Maybe he can spend more time working on his oompa loompa like tan, and out of place white hair!
Crist exhibited a severe case of confusion by declaring openly on Fox News Sunday that he would never consider a run for the Senate on anything but the Republican platform. However, like Specter, Crist noticed that he was lagging substantially in the polls, so he decided that winning a seat by any means necessary trumps any semblance of a personal belief system.

As a result, Crist has done a 180 degree turn and decided to run as an independent candidate, not as a Republican. By doing so, that damn idiot is putting the seat in danger by possibly splitting the conservative vote come November. How selfless of him……..

So Crist is getting ready to get the boot, and I can only convey my gratitude to Marco Rubio for sending him packing.

Pay attention Politicians. The American Voter isn’t stupid

All of the jockeying for position in Washington aside, the one person that these politicans are estimated are nothing but your average run of the mill voter. And these voters are fed up!

We have officially lost our minds

The terrorists of 9/11 are probably looking up from hell and see something that makes all of the hellfire and brimstone that they are subjected to on a daily basis. A brand new mosque rises over Ground Zero, and it is set to open its doors……..on 9/11/11.

The Plans for the Muslim house of worship, is topped by a 13-story cultural center with a swimming pool, and resides in a building damaged by the fuselage of a jet flown by extremists into the World Trade Center.

The opening date shall live in infamy: Sept. 11, 2011. The 10th anniversary of the day a hole was punched in the city’s heart.

Have we gone absolutely *^#*ing insane? I hate to sound xenophobic, but this is just absurd.

In todays age of political correctness, which is killing us slowly, do we care so much about not offending anyone that we don’t give a damn about the nearly 3,000 American citizens who died on 9/11? Could they not wait another week to open the doors of the mosque in a reverent gesture towards the victims of the 19 hijackers that took their lives in the name of Islam?

The New Mosque near the World Trade Center Site

Paul Sipos, member of Community Board 1 in New York City made the point that, ”If the Japanese decided to open a cultural center across from Pearl Harbor, that would be insensitive,” Sipos said. “If the Germans opened a Bach choral society across from Auschwitz, even after all these years, that would be an insensitive setting. I have absolutely nothing against Islam. I just think: Why there?”

What a great, well thought out point!

The group, Stop Islamicization of America, has a rally planned for my birthday on June 6th to show their disagreement about the opening date of the new mosque. Executive director Pamela Geller said, “What could be more insulting and humiliating than a monster mosque in the shadow of the World Trade Center buildings that were brought down by an Islamic jihad attack? Any decent American, Muslim or otherwise, wouldn’t dream of such an insult. It’s a stab in the eye of America.”

Stay tuned…….
