The question for Republicans is straightforward: Should veteran state lawmakers be tossed aside simply because they refused to go along with Trump’s redistricting demands last year?

There’s less suspense in Ohio, where tonight’s primaries are not expected to produce much drama.

Polls close in Indiana at 7 p.m. ET and in Ohio at 7:30 p.m. ET. 

“Several businessmen who spent millions on Mr. Paxton’s campaigns for state attorney general have not given to either his Senate campaign or a political action committee backing his run, including a former top donor who gave far more to Mr. Cornyn.”

“Perhaps most strikingly, the billionaire West Texas oilmen and far-right kingmakers who have long supported Mr. Paxton have spent little on his Senate run.”

“But Mr. Trump’s conviction that these tactics will bring about Iran’s capitulation is deeply flawed, officials and analysts say. They say it is a misreading of the Islamic Republic’s strategy, psychology and capability for adaptation.”

“The Iranian government believes that it has the upper hand for now, and that it can withstand economic pressure, as it has in the past, longer than Mr. Trump can tolerate rising energy prices brought about by the halting of traffic through the strait.”

“If anything, Iran’s positions have hardened. But Mr. Trump’s tactics have not changed.”

Said Griffin: “If you look at the price of eggs, you look at the price of fast food, you look at the price of housing, you look at the price of almost anything in life, it’s materially higher than it was seven years ago.”

He added: “And so when gasoline prices go higher, I think it’s really triggering to the American people that the inflation genie is back out of the bottle again, and I think Trump has to deal with that reality that the American people have just had it when it comes to inflation.”

“Kennedy’s not a moderate like Lisa Murkowski, a contrarian like Rand Paul, or untethered and near retirement like Thom Tillis. Yet President Donald Trump’s second term has seen Kennedy transforming into a folksy force who’s willing to maximize his leverage and platform as a member of some of the Hill’s most powerful committees.”

“Then the agents discovered something unusual.”

“Leaders of the prison gang known as Los Tiburones, or the Sharks, were selling drugs to inmates not only for money, but for their votes. Specifically, votes for now-Gov. Jenniffer González-Colón, a longtime Republican and supporter of President Donald Trump, investigators found.”

“Only two ships were known to have passed through the waterway on Monday. None appear to have made the trip on Tuesday, when the United Arab Emirates said it had come under attack by Iranian missiles and drones for the second day in a row.”

“The private message suggests the White House wanted to mitigate the risk of potential escalation. But despite the warning, the Iranians launched a string of attacks on U.S. Navy ships, commercial vessels and the United Arab Emirates.”

“Just last fall, the same senior Virginia Democrats who pushed the redistricting gambit were telling Dan the effort was a slam dunk — that they were 90 percent confident the court would quickly allow the new maps to take effect. Yesterday, those same folks told Dan their confidence has cratered to under 50 percent.”

“The source of panic? That the state’s high court failed by Friday afternoon to toss the GOP’s challenge to the new maps.”

Said Scott: “He’s breaking 75 years of precedent. Every time you get a new chairman, the former chairman leaves. That’s good news because what you don’t want are these philosophies in conflict.”

He added: “I think for the country and for the Fed, it would be best if he left.”

“Abortion rights advocates are hoping to capitalize on the legal uncertainty, as they did when scoring a string of Democratic victories in the 2022 midterms shortly after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.”

“In a series of weekend calls while in Florida and conversations at the White House on Monday, Trump sought advice from his advisers about Makary and the importance of flavored vaping to young MAGA voters.”
