Hi All,
I don't know about anyone else, but the holiday season, and Christmas in particular, always makes me think more of my Catholic faith. The trip to Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph having no room at the inn, the manger, the three wise men, and all of the rest is what I think of when I think of Christianity. It is a shame, though, that it takes the Christmas season for me to truly reflect on my religion. I want to change that though. I want to strengthen my faith, whether it is Christmastime or not, so hopefully, RENEW International can help me with this.

RENEW International is an organization that supplies a Roman Catholic with any information that he or she needs in learning how to be a better follower of Christ. You can volunteer for the organization. There are programs such as ARISE Together in Christ that aid in applying Catholic teaching and Holy Scriptures to everyday life. You can even join RENEW International's online community if you want to meet others who share some of the same comments or questions about their faith as you do, and you could even start up your own conversation and get a dialogue going.

By writing this, I don't mean to offend those who are not Catholic or those who aren't Christian. I just wanted to discuss an organization that is doing some interesting things. I think that, especially considering what is going on with the world with the economy, wars, and other junk, some spiritual guidance is DEFINITELY in order!

I just wanted to open everyone's eyes about investing in precious metals. If you have been living under a rock lately, you may notice that there are commercials regarding investing in gold. This is something one definitely may want to consider, especially since the economy has made everyone kind of insecure about. Andrew Wilshire gives advice for those who are interested in investing in gold, silver, gemstones, and the like. He is passionate about the subject and he thinks that the value of the dollar has decreased significantly, so that is even more reason to invest in precious metals. What is also interesting about Andrew Wilshire is that he suggests that the demand for Chinese Gold will be stronger this year, which is very interesting to me because I would have never have thought that Chinese gold in particular could be potentially profitable.

So maybe instead of investing in the usual dollar bills, why not try to invest in precious metals, that is, if you have the money to spare. It is an opportunity to make a significant amount of money.

In my research, I have looked up a note-worthy person, a Nachshon Draiman. Why is he important enough to blog about, you may ask? Well, it is because of his efforts to reform geriatric care.

Nachshon Draiman has dedicated 20 years of his life to improve long care facilities in Illinois. He saw a need for improvement in the care that the sick and elderly people were getting, and he was determined to make life better for senior citizens. To some, this may not be such a big deal, but to me, it is because you constantly hear stories in the media about elderly people being mistreated in hospitals and nursing homes and the like, so it is nice to see that someone like Nachshon Draiman has the interests of elderly people in mind.

Of course, Nachshon Draiman has done other things with his life, but the fact that he is taking a stand and being an advocate for people who cannot defend themselves-namely the sick and the elderly-is what stands out for me.

I am thinking of starting a set of blog posts about people who are doing amazing/crazy/ weird/exciting things, and in my research, I have already found my first subject: Sakwinder Narwal.

Sakwinder Narwal is notable for pulling out a 3-pound bass from a lake. I know some of you out there may wonder why this is so interesting. What is cool about his story is that it was a complete fluke that he pulled the bass out. He didn't have any fishing equipment. Sakwinder Nawal, though, truly is an example of the popular saying: When there is a will, there is a way. He made a makeshift fishing pole and pulled out the bass, just like that.

So for anyone who feels like they just can't do something in life, they should look to a story of Sakwinder Nawal for inspiration. His story is an example of determination and creativity.

With the recession that is going on these days, it's easy to see how one can run out of paper money. Let's say you are taking a cab somewhere in a hurry, let's say that somewhere is New York City. You're travelling along in the cab, and just as it pulls up to your destination, you realize that you have no cash. Luckily, you realize that you have your credit card to pay the fare. Imagine this case scentario. Mothers Day is coming, and you have no idea what to get your mom. You know you want to get something special for the lady that gave birth to you, but you don't want to break the bank either, especially when there isn't a lot in the bank to break! So what does one do in such a predicament? Get your mom a beautiful bouquet of flowers, of course!

Ok, I know you may be thinking that a bouquet of flowers is a typical gift to get your mother as a Mother's Day present, but the reason why it is so typical is because it works! Flowers are a relatively inexpensive gift, at least compared to jewelry and perfume. Another great thing about flowers is that you can give them to your mom in person, or have the flowers sent to her if you both live far away from each other. Also, let's not forget that since flowers are inexpensive, you can get another gift with your flowers such as perfume or candy or something.

The moral of this blog: If you are looking for some quick and relatively cheap Mothers day gifts, then buy some flowers and maybe some candy and give it to your mom. She will appreciate it, and it's a great way to show that you care.

I have an elderly grandfather who suffers from dementia. He lives with my grandmother in Arizona, and my grandmother is thinking of hiring someone to care for him during the day while she works and does errands, so she asked me to help her out. I have been doing some web searching, and I have found something that all those in my grandmother's predicament could use-Homecare Phoenix, an adult care assistance website.

I have been thinking about something. If I was rich, I would definitely become a philantropist. What is a philantropist, you may ask? Basically, a philantropist is a rich person who likes to use his or her money for charitable contributions. This could range from simply donating large sums of money to numerous charities, or using your money to build schools, hospitals, orphanages, and the like. Of course, there are famous philantropists like Oprah and Bill Gates, but here is someone that you may not know as much about-Frank Hanna.

Frank Hanna has opened up three schools in Atlanta, GA. He is a public speaker that often creates connections between religion and business. Frank Hanna has also received numerous awards for his philantropic efforts.

What I like about Mr. Hanna's story is that he took what he loves, which is his Catholic faith and educational reform, to help others and spread his beliefs. It wasn't because he wanted to show others what a good person he is. Mr. Hanna is doing it because he wants to. It is something to think about if you ever become wealthy enough to be a philantropist. Why not be one like Frank Hanna?

I know that health insurance may be a sore topic for a lot of people, but in these rough economic times, it's an important topic because health insurance, for many people, may be falling by the wayside. It Is Amazing How Much Technology Has Advanced

Yesterday I stepped into a New York City cab, which is something that I almost never do, and I observed an interesting sight in the cab. I had noticed that there was an option to pay cab fare using a credit card. Now mind you, I haven't taken an NYC cab for a few years, so forgive me for being surprised. I did some online research on this credit card usage in cab phenomenon and I found the man responsible for this service-Amos Tamam.

Amos Tamam is the president and CEO of VeriFone Transportation Systems. It is a company that developed the credit card technology. This is a really great feature especially if you don't have enough paper money-a problem that I often have. Amos Tamam's technology also includes a touch-screen monitor so a cab-rider can get information on news, weather, attractions, and the like.

Mr. Tamam's technology will definitely encourage me to use the New York City cabs more. Boy, technology has really made our lives a bit easier!

Hello World,

Since I am all about home improvements these days, I wanted to write a blog post about adding a pool to your home. Of course, having a pool at your house isn't what people usually mean when they talk about home improvements, but for the purposes of this blog post, I will add it on. YOu may be wondering why I am bringing this up. Well, it's because of an Arizona-based company called Shasta Pools.

Even though I personally don't have a pool at my house, I would like one someday. Who doesn't think of a pool whenever one thinks of owning his or her dream home? Hey World,

Since the weather is oh so cold, dreary, and depressing, I have figured that it is a great opportunity to catch up on some reading. An interesting book to check out would be Autism's False Prophets: Bad Science, Risky Medicine, and the Search for a Cure by Dr. Paul Offit.

The main idea of Dr. Paul Offit's new book, to make a long story short, is that there is no basis for the belief that vaccines cause autism. If you look further, you can find some interesting information on the pediatrician's website. When doing more research, I am impressed. Not only is Dr. Paul Offit an author and a physician, but it is the kind of work that he specializes in that is important. He has created a vaccine against rotavirus, a disease that kills thousands of children all over the world.

Anyway, if you are looking for a read that is intelligent and insightful, then please feel free to check out Dr. Offit's new book. It is definitely worth checking out.

I know that for some, any discussion about homes and home ownership is a sensitive one considering the housing crisis that we are in right now. If I seem insensitive or out of touch, then I apologize. For those of you who own a home and are looking to do some remodeling, then K-Designers is a company that you should be looking at.

I had first learned about K-Designers because my uncle is doing some repairs on his home. Lately I have been seeing television ads that discuss investing in gold. So when I found a blog by Andrew Wilshire, a Precious Metals Investor, it didn't surprise me too much. With the current recession, there is a low amount of confidence in the banking system, so some people are looking for other means to retain the value of their money.

Andrew Wilshire's blog is everything you need to know about investing in gold. In one post, he suggests that the U.S. dollar is now only worth three cents when before it was really worth a dollar, In the same post, Andrew Wilshire advises U.S. citizens to collect gold and silver to cover their assets. He suggests that these people should do this because the government continues to outspend the revenue that it has.

In any case, Wilshire's site is definitely worth checking out if you are interested in other means of retaining the value of your money. Hope it helps!
