According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and “lockdown”, under which movement is severely restricted.

According to highly trusted sources, the Obama administration had received warnings of threats to attack as many as seven US missions in the Middle East on the anniversary of 9/11. As early as September 4, and again a few days later, the warnings were received, but largely ignored.

This is huge. A clear example of how Obama’s foreign policy has failed.

The invitation to Mohammed Morsi, a member of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood, a group with a violent past, could raise concerns among lawmakers who have questioned continued U.S. support for Egypt.

The liberal polling outlet, Public Policy Polling, has a new survey out showing Mitt Romney leading Barack Obama by 7 percentage points.

The Hill points out that it is the “second consecutive survey of Wisconsin to find Romney has overtaken the president following the selection of Ryan as his running mate. A survey earlier this month from conservative-leaning polling outlet Rasmussen also gave Romney a 48-47 lead in the state.”

Let’s keep this going all the way till November…

Newsweek writer, Niall Ferguson, wrote a story titled: Obama’s Gotta Go, detailing why Paul Ryan scares team O so much and why the GOP ticket is the clear path to prosperity for the country.

Do I think Newsweek is turning Conservative? Hell no. Do I think Tina Brown will actually vote for Romney? Hell no. Is Newsweek still a hack organization? Absolutely.

Still… it is interesting to see a story like this make the front cover.

Gallup has a poll out today showing Obama receiving a 60% disapproval rating when it comes to the economy. Additionally, he garners a 64% disapproval rating when it comes to the federal budget deficit. He gets similar marks when it comes to creating jobs.

Gallup also has Obama compared to past presidents at this point in time in their presidencies.

Obama’s ratings on the economy are significantly worse than all three prior successful presidential incumbents at this same point in their first term, according to the available Gallup trends. His 36% approval rating on the economy is well below George W. Bush’s rating in August 2004 (46%), Bill Clinton’s in August 1996 (54%), and Ronald Reagan’s in July 1984 (50%). Still, in terms of comparisons to presidents who lost, Obama’s economic rating is substantially better than that of George H.W. Bush in July 1992 (18%). Gallup did not measure Americans’ approval of Jimmy Carter on the economy in 1980.

Overall, Gallup reports that Obama’s current approval rating is 44%. Historically, presidents running for re-election have above or about a 50% approval rating. Gallup notes that, “as with previous presidents it seems to have been the issue approval most closely linked to overall job approval.”

Then Scott Walker survived the recall election, winning even more votes in 2012 than he did in 2010.

Now that Romney has tapped Paul Ryan, a Wisconsin congressman, to be his running mate, Wisconsin is within reach of voting Republican for the first time in a presidential election since 1984.

Today, Rasmussen has a poll out of likely voters showing Romney/Ryan beating Obama, 48% to 47%.

Three weeks ago, Obama had the advantage over Romney with a three percent lead.

Additionally, CNN has moved Wisconsin from ‘lean Obama’ to ‘tossup,’ on their electoral map.

No one can dispute that Wisconsin is in play for the Republicans.

Today, the New York Times ran a 778-word story on GOP Veep nominee, Paul Ryan’s…. clothes. Yes, the NYTimes spent a good hour or so investigating Ryan’s clothes.

The Israeli minister responsible for preparing home defenses, has reportedly said that Israel is “ready as never before,” to launch a war with Iran. A war that he says could last 30 days.

“The assessments are for a war that will last 30 days on a number of fronts,” he told the Maariv newspaper.

“It could be that there will be less fatalities, but it could be there will be more, that is the scenario that we are preparing for according to the best experts.”

I reported back in March, that a “senior American official,” stated that Israel had already decided to strike Iran, with a timetable of Fall 2012.

An attack on Iran could happen any month now, if it is going to happen at all that is.

Ever since the selection of Paul Ryan as Veep, Romney has been giving amazing speeches and doing awesome at hitting back against the Obama campaign.

Today in Ohio was just another great example…

Romney was responding to Biden’s suggestion that the GOP ticket’s economic policies would “put y’all back in chains.”

“This is an election in which we should be talking about the path ahead, but you don’t hear any answers coming from President Obama’s re-election campaign. That’s because he’s intellectually exhausted, out of ideas, and out of energy. And so his campaign has resorted to diversions and distractions, to demagoguing and defaming others. This is an old game in politics; what’s different this year is that the president is taking things to a new low.”

Darrell Issa will be launching a civil lawsuit against Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, this Monday over his failure to relinquish key documents regarding Operation Fast & Furious.

“The committee expects to file the civil contempt suit against the attorney general Monday,” a Republican source said. The suit will be filed in the federal district court for the District of Columbia.

Back in June, Holder was found in contempt of Congress, which allowed for such a lawsuit to be filed.

The absence of the national Democrat party in a the battleground state of Wisconsin is just sad at best. After all that media crap they put us through for months last year and now it is turning into a cake walk for Walker.

Thank god I say….

Anyway, Walker is up by nine in the latest We Ask America poll.

While other polls also show Walker in the lead, no one is suggesting that this race is anywhere near over. Walker only leads among self-described Independent voters by 47.6%-44.6%, and the underlying numbers seem fluid. Still, some of Walker’s detractors have been vocal about the fact that Walker was duly elected in 2010 and in most states would not be able to be challenged with a recall without greater cause. And a whopping 95% of those called said they plan to vote in the June 5th election which will have the national spotlight on it.

Right now the DNC is too preoccupied with their gay president…

If Ron I Hate Israel Paul actually ran as a third party, it actually benefits Mitt Romney, rather than Barack Obama.

…Yet despite apparent Democratic hopes that a Paul candidacy might cut into Romney’s total, the likely Republican nominee is the winner of a three-way race if the election were held right now. Given that matchup, Romney earns 44% support to President Obama’s 39%. Paul runs a distant third with 13% of the vote. Two percent (2%) like some other candidate, and another two percent (2%) are undecided.

Very interesting, considering how much damage Ross Perot did to George H. W. Bush in 1992.

In that ’92 race, Perot got 18.9% of the vote and in this Rasmussen poll Paul gets 13%. Still, 5.9% gap could change the election drastically. Bush lost re-election due to the same reason Obama will lose in 2012.

I reported the other day that the Young Guns Network, a group led by two former top aides to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, is spending $100,000 in the primary between Sen. Richard Lugar and state treasurer Richard Mourdock in a bid to protect the Indiana incumbent – and here’s what some of that mail looks like.

A lit piece that the YG Network dropped focuses, as they’d said it would, on energy policy – but it is targeted to non-Republicans, as it reminds voters that Indiana’s GOP primary is an open one in which Democrats and independents can vote.

“Indiana does not have party registration,” the mail piece says over a picture of a smiling child giving a thumbs-up sign. “You simply need to show up at your polling location on May 8, 2012 to vote for Senator Dick Lugar in the Republican Primary.”

In case anyone didn’t get the point, the piece adds, “You can vote in the May 8th Republican Primary election! The May 8th Election is open to all voters.”

At other points ,the piece says Lugar, who is seen as facing an uphill battle against the conservative-backed insurgent, “has always represented mainstream Indiana values.”

If you live in Indianna, please cast your ballot for Richard Mourdock, he’s the only Conservative in the race and will help bring true change to Washington.

On Feb. 4, 2011, Weich wrote to Congress that the idea that “ATF ‘sanctioned’ or otherwise knowingly allowed the sale of assault weapons to a straw purchaser who then transported them into Mexico … is false.”

“ATF makes every effort to interdict weapons that have been purchased illegally and prevent their transportation to Mexico,” Weich added in that letter.

The DOJ has since retracted Weich’s letter but has not held anyone accountable for providing that misinformation to Congress, or for Operation Fast and Furious itself.

On top of that, Weich is claiming that the DOJ doesn’t know anything about a bribery scandal in the Virgin Islands, despite the fact that “two DOJ prosecutors on a team of more than 25 accepted cash bribes from indicted finance executives in the U.S. Virgin Islands.”

So when will Holder resign with Weich?

Yet another new survey shows that Republican supporters know more about politics and political history than Democrats.

On eight of 13 questions about politics, Republicans outscored Democrats by an average of 18 percentage points, according to a new Pew survey “Partisan Differences in Knowledge.”

The Pew survey adds to a wave of surveys and studies showing that GOP-sympathizers are better informed, more intellectually consistent, more open-minded, more empathetic and more receptive to criticism than their fellow Americans who support the Democratic Party.

“Republicans fare substantially better than Democrats on several questions in the survey, as is typically the case in surveys about political knowledge,” said the study, which noted that Democrats outscored Republicans on five questions by an average of 4.6 percent.

The widest partisan gap in the survey came in at 30 points when only 46 percent of Democrats — but 76 percent of Republicans —- correctly described the GOP as “the party generally more supportive of reducing the size of federal government.”

The widest difference that favored Democrats was only 8 percent, when 59 percent of Republicans and 67 percent of Democrats recognized the liberal party as “more support of reducing the defense budget.”

Plus, I think it is worth noting that Pew polling skews solidly liberal….

Iran claimed Sunday that it had recovered data from an American spy drone that went down in Iran last year including that it was used to spy on Osama bin Laden’s house weeks before he was killed by U.S. forces. Iran also said it was building a copy of the surveillance aircraft.

Obama rejected three different proposals to recover or destroy the US drone, basically giving Iran a top secret drone. Plus, by all means, it could still be functional.

Obama claims his reasoning for not sending a team to retrieve the drone was so that a war with Iran wouldn’t break out. To be honest Barack, Iran couldn’t do anything to America. We could takeover that entire country in a month.

The downed Drone was not recovered or destroyed specifically per Obama’s orders.

Oh he isn’t focused on polling data? Then why did his campaign and the DNC spend $1.4 million on polling in March?

The DNC has spent $1.2M on polling, with eight different firms in March — following a February where the committee spent another $1.1M on polling. The Obama campaign spent another $237,000 on polling in March with one firm.

For a guy who isn’t “focused on polling data,” $1.4 million sure is a lot….

The Congressional Budget Office said Thursday that 45 million people in 2011 received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, a 70% increase from 2007. It said the number of people receiving the benefits, commonly known as food stamps, would continue growing until 2014.

Spending for the program, not including administrative costs, rose to $72 billion in 2011, up from $30 billion four years earlier. The CBO projected that one in seven U.S. residents received food stamps last year.

President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus act allocated $10 million to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for a program that traced guns sold to straw purchasers, an operation that was designed to prevent Mexican criminal organizations from obtaining U.S. guns.

The $787-billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the stimulus, was passed by Congress and signed into law in February 2009. From this near-trillion dollar trove, the administration allocated $10 million to the ATF’s “Project Gunrunner” to increase staff by 37 persons, according to a November 2010 Department of Justice Inspector General report.

The phased-in hiring of stimulus-funded staff was almost complete by September 2010, according to the IG report.

Obama eating dogs isn’t important, but Romney having dogs on top of his car is.… at least according to the Huff Po.

A new CNN poll shows that former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, leads the preference of GOP voters, with 26% of the support.

According to the survey, Condoleezza Rice is on top of the list. Twenty-six percent questioned said they would like to see Rice, who served as national security adviser and later as secretary of state under President George W. Bush, as the Republican vice presidential nominee. In second place in the survey, at 21%, was Rick Santorum, who was Romney’s chief rival for the nomination until early last week, when the former senator from Pennsylvania suspended his campaign for the White House.

Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie were each at 14%, with House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin at 8%, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal at 5%, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell at 1% and Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio at less than one half of one percent.

This is definitely very interesting….

However, among Tea Partiers, it’s a slightly different story. While 85% of Tea Partiers have a favorable opinion of Rice, she isn’t their Tea Party pick for VP. A plurality, 22%, picked Rubio, in second place at 18% was Chris Christie, and 16% selected Condoleezza Rice .

This poll comes from the liberal-leaning and SEIU pollster, Public Policy Polling.

Scott Walker also currently leads all recall candidates challenging him, garnering over 50% of the vote.

“The president’s decision to circumvent the American people by installing his appointees at a powerful federal agency, when the Senate was not in recess, and without obtaining the advice and consent of the Senate, is an unprecedented power grab,” McConnell said. “We will demonstrate to the court how the president’s unconstitutional actions fundamentally endanger the Congress’s role in providing a check on the excesses of the executive branch.”

But seriously…. what took them so long? I would have immediately cut all funding off to the agency until Obama agreed to rescind the appointment.

Obama sure as hell isn’t in for a win in 2012. Yes, he’s the incumbent, but he doesn’t have this one all sealed up.

Conversely, Obama does have a fair chance at reelection. I will admit that and I do believe that. We must stop it, but we must also not think this is going to be a cake walk for Mitt Romney.

The fact that Obama is losing to him this far out, means absolutely nothing. Hell, you could have that poll with Romney: 75% Obama: 22% and 3% voting for other candidates. That still doesn’t mean Romney has this in the bag.

He can screw it up real easy and so can Obama. We must fight until November 6 and onwards.

What ever will they do?

Occupy Wall Street is becoming mired in an ideological civil war just as it seeks to reestablish itself as a dominant force in American political discourse and openly pushes for a crippling general strike on May 1st.

What’s behind the various Occupy Wall Street (OWS) factions engaging in online squabbles and tweet battles? Believe it or not, Barack Obama. Within the movement, there are those who believe the established Left is trying to co-opt OWS to get President Barack Obama reelected. And it’s causing quite the stir.

In fact, Adbusters — a prominent force in the movement — is calling it a “Battle for the Soul of Occupy.” It is railing against groups like Moveon.org for seeking to piggyback on the enthusiasm and digital organization of the Occupiers to ensure the status quo in the federal government continues for four more years.

But the Occupiers aren’t taking this usurpation lightly. Since Adbusters wrote an article decrying the phenomenon, Occupiers have been rallying to the meme of “Jump, jump, jump over the body of the old dead left.”

A bankruptcy court has given 2o top Solyndra managers and employees over $368,500 in bonuses, as the failed-Obama company is continued to be investigated by the FBI and Congress.

Solyndra is one of the biggest crony capitalist deals that Obama has conducted since becoming president. The cronyism started in the months prior to the approval of the Solyndra loan by the Department of Energy in March of 2009, when billionaire and Obama bundler, George Kaiser, held numerous meetings with the White House about the pending loan.

George Kaiser holds the biggest stake in the now defunct Solyndra.

White House logs revealed that Solyndra executives and investors held four separate visits the week before the company received its cut of your stimulus cash. Those meetings all took place while a White House budget analyst warned in an email that, “this deal is not ready for prime time.”

On May 26, 2010, Obama visited Solyndra, boasted about the loan and said, “the true engine of economic growth will always be companies like Solyndra.” He praised Solyndra as a Recovery Act (stimulus) success story.

On September 6, 2011, Solyndra filed for bankruptcy. The immediate result was the layoff of 1,100 workers.

The scandal took another turn when, on September 8, 2011, the FBI raided Solyndra’s headquarters.

Obama was so impressed with the failed solar company that the administration wanted to give it another $469 million on top of the $535 million to make it an even billion dollars in taxpayer cash.

CNS News reported:
A bankruptcy court ordered $368,500 in bonuses for 20 top managers and employees of Solyndra, the solar panel firm that received $535 million from taxpayers two years before filing for bankruptcy and laying off 11,000 employees. The bonuses kicked in on March 31.

The 20 high-level workers earned a total base pay of $2.49 million before the bonuses. One of the executives earned a base annual salary of $206,499 and received a $30,000 incentive under the court order handed down on Feb. 22 by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Mary F. Walrath in Delaware.

Another executive earning $189,000 in base pay was awarded a $20,000 bonus and a third, who earned $190,800, received $15,000 more.

Most of the bonuses awarded were between $15,000 and $25,000, with the three top beneficiaries receiving $30,000, while the three lowest received $10,000 each.

Take that unions… the collective bargaining bill is actually lowering property taxes.

On Monday Mr. Walker’s office released new data that show the property tax bill for the median home fell by 0.4% in 2011, as reported by Wisconsin’s municipalities. Property taxes, which are the state’s largest revenue source and mainly fund K-12 schools, have risen every year since 1998—by 43% overall. The state budget office estimates that the typical homeowner’s bill would be some $700 higher without Mr. Walker’s collective-bargaining overhaul and budget cuts.

Scott Walker currently leads all the candidates challenging him for recall, garnering over 50% of the support.

Tea Party gets behind Mitt Romney in San Francisco

If you thought that big political rally in San Francisco on Saturday must have have been a “Romney for President” event, then you are forgiven — because it sure looked that way.

But it actually was Tea Partiers from around the Bay Area who gathered on the Embarcadero for the biggest Tea Party of the 2012 election season so far. (That’s right — they’re ba-a-a-a-a-ack, demanding fiscal responsibility and smaller government, and not letting the mainstream media’s lies silence the debate.)

And although early in the campaign Mitt Romney was not at first the Tea Party favorite, they’re now rallying to his side, if Saturday’s event was any indication.

So why is Walker leading? Well beside his Conservative agenda, his TV ads have proven to be very effective, as Tom Jensen points out.

The biggest change is probably that this was our first time using a likely voter screen, We found with almost all of the recall elections last summer that the electorate just wasn’t as Democratic as 2008, even if people were at least more excited about the recalls than they were about the 2010 elections. Gov. Scott Walker gains a few points as a result of that.
The other thing is that independents have flipped from our last poll, from supporting Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett by 12 to going for Walker by three. We’ve seen independents go back and forth on Walker several times over the last year, though I’m not certain what causes that. Walker’s been very aggressive about getting on the air and that may have helped firm up his standing, especially as Democrats fight amongst each other over their nominee…. Screening this poll for likely voters (as opposed to just registered voters) has had one other notable effect: Walker’s job approval has ticked up, from 47-52 to 51-48. But it’s had an even bigger effect on Barrett’s favorables, which went from 41-33 to 41-45, a fall of 12 points. Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk saw a much smaller net drop of 5, going from 31-42 to 36-52. Barrett’s been the target of some tough attacks both from certain unions (which are backing Kane) as well as Walker, who has aired ads going after both leading Democrats, but apparently has made Barrett his focus.

Its essential takeaway is that Obama is running a pay-for-play White House despite his promises to keep lobbyists out and clean things up. ‘Drain the swamp’ is how Nancy Pelosi phrased it. But all the Democrats have really done is make sure the swamp is under their management.”
