“The old belief was that there is not enough abundance to go around, and so we thought if you get yours, I lose mine. If I get some abundance, I have to deprive you of yours. We have believed that people are constantly waiting out there to take our good from us. We thought that there is only so much substance in this world, and therefore it can be used up.

The human race has had it all wrong. We have to re-educate ourselves so that we firmly realize that God’s source of good is unlimited. God, by nature, is a creative process, always capable of (and desirous of) bringing new and more into our lives.

The key to prosperity is the realization that prosperity doesn’t come by getting more. It comes by giving more. The law of prosperity is actually 180 degrees from what most of us have been taught. We prosper not by concentrating on what we are getting, but by emphasizing what we are giving. There is simply no way to circumvent this law, and it may take a quantum shift in your thinking to bring yourself around to the truth.”

“There is no guarantee that you are going to be here tomorrow, much less next week or next year. If you don’t give 100 percent of your effort and focus to your life, what is the point of being here? If you are not about treating other people the way you want to be treated, what is the point of being here? If you cannot say that your life is the dream that you always wanted it to be, and that if you died tomorrow it would be all right because you knew you had fulfilled your destiny, what is the point of being here?

Let me spell it out for you. The point of being here is to live your dreams as if your life depends on it – because it does. Each of us fills a niche so unique, so vital, that to live any other way is in direct conflict with the laws of Spirit.”

“It’s not what happens to us, but our response to what happens to us that hurts us. Of course, things can hurt us physically or economically and can cause sorrow. But our character, our basic identity, does not have to be hurt at all. In fact, our most difficult experiences become the crucibles that forge our character and develop the internal powers, the freedom to handle difficult circumstances in the future and to inspire others to do so as well.

Victor Frankl suggests that there are three central values in life – the experiential, or that which happens to us; the creative, or that which we bring into existence; and the attitudinal, or our response in difficult circumstances such as terminal illness. My own experience with people confirms the point Frankl makes – that the highest of the three values is attitudinal, in the paradigm or reframing sense. In other words, what matters most is how we RESPOND to what we experience in life.

Difficult circumstances often create paradigm shifts, whole new frames of reference by which people see the world and themselves and others in it, and what life is asking of them. Their larger perspective reflects the attitudinal values that lift and inspire us all.”

“Nothing but nothing happens in your life without the say-so of the Soul. The brain creates nothing – it only repeats processes over and over again. The brain can take in sights and sounds and perform procedures based on rules that have been established, but it alone does not draw anything to itself. So if you have found yourself concentrating and focusing on something to have, then that is the brain repeating what it has learned from Certified Attraction Coaches, Gurus, or others that sell these mysterious secrets.

I tell you this: There are no secrets between you and I, simply because I do not know how to keep a secret. I always, always forthcoming, for it would not serve Me to be otherwise. I need you to take me to all the places of physical experience I wish to go. Nothing personal, but I would never allow you to (guess) your way through this journey.”

If you are vibrating to injustice and resentment you will meet it on your pathway, at every step. You will certainly think it is a hard world and that everybody is against you. Hermes Trismegistus said several thousand years ago, “To change your mood you must change your vibrations.” I make it even stronger; I say, to change your world, you must change your vibrations. Turn on a different current in your battery of thought, and you’ll see the difference immediately.”

“We all struggle in a seemingly never-ending cycle of disappointment in which we attempt to control our lives. We search endlessly for the one grand choice that will put everything in our lives into permanent order, halting the motion of change long enough to establish final control over everyone and everything. Is that choice the right career? The right marriage partner? The right geographic location?

In seeking this one right choice constantly, we give form to our fear of the changing rhythm that is life itself. In looking for this single external person or thing that will forever bring us peace, stability, love, and health, we dismiss the more authentic power that lies “behind our eyes and not in front of them.” The truth contained within the paradoxical nature of dualism is this: It is not WHAT we choose that matters; our power to influence an outcome lies in our REASONS for making a certain choice.”

“The emotional desire for the acquisition of something cannot be based on need. If you want something because of not-enoughness of it, it will not manifest. Emotional desire has to be based on excitement about what you want and curiosity about how you are going to get it, not neediness. Just like with any manifestation or materialization, the desire for acquisition has to be constant over a certain period of time. You cannot wobble your desire and expect alchemy to occur! We often wobble when what we want does not happen right away—we start doubting our ability to make it happen. This doubt is what breaks the alchemy of acquisition into pieces, mutating the process in such a way that instead of the desired ‘stuff’, we acquire self-punishment and self-judgment.”

“There is no “right” way to grow. There are many paths to enlightenment and God. See what is beautiful in every person’s path, in every religion, and in every belief system. Honor other peoples’ paths even if they are different than yours. Be inclusive and loving, and look beyond the form of people’s beliefs to the essence. There is no right way; there is only the way that is right for you. There is something unique, perfect, and beautiful in every culture, in every system of belief. Look for what you have in common with others and accept and love those who are on different paths.

If you have been around people who wanted you to change a habit or do something differently, you know their trying to get you to change made it harder to do. To create a desire to grow in others, share you enthusiasm about your life. Listen to people, draw them out, and find ways to assist them in loving themselves more. Grow yourself, and become an example.”

Everyone has their own definition of what faith is, but it’s easiest to understand by watching how faith works.

Faith is falling in love. It’s raising a child. It’s trying again to run the race, get the job, make the marriage work, or learn the language, when you failed the first time and the third time and the sixth time. It’s understanding that all this pain and crap and mess is not without meaning. It’s believing that things will be okay even when nothing feels okay. It’s about being awed by the sunset though you’ve seen it a hundred times before and hope to see it a hundred times more. It’s knowing that there is something bigger than what you can see and feel and touch and it’s behaving better because of all that.”

“A guru was once attempting to explain to a crowd how human beings react to words, feed on words, live on words, rather than on reality. One of the men stood up and protested; he said, “I don’t agree that words have all that much affect on us.” The guru said, “Sit down, you son of a bitch.” The man went livid with rage and said, “You call yourself an enlightened person, a guru, a master, but you ought to be ashamed of yourself.”

The guru then said, “Pardon me sir, I was carried away. I really beg your pardon; that was a lapse; I’m sorry.” The man finally calmed down. Then the guru said, “It took just a few words to get a whole tempest going within you; and it took just a few words to calm you down, didn’t it?” Words, words, words, words, how imprisoning they are if they’re not used properly.”
