I'm sorry for the low quality picture! Luckily, the most important points of this picture are clear. 1. How happy shopping makes and 2. the fact that my favorite shorts match my favorite purse. Both those items were $4! The top I am wearing was also thrifted for about $4 too! Its sheer... of course. I haven't bought a top that isn't see through in four months.

Alright, so the title is a bit dramatic and mostly false. I don't have much to say to excuse my bad blogger behavior.
Since my last post I landed an internship at an art gallery/vintage boutique with the most amazing owner. She's a photographer and jewelry designer and anything else that requires creativity. I don't start the internship until August but I have been helping out at the gallery by modeling for its monthly art parties. The last one was yesterday and the theme was Dada. The current intern designed some awesomely crazy outfits from reconstructed vintage clothes and our hair and make up was 1940's inspired. So what else could I do the day after the show then to put red lipstick on and leave the waves in my hair?
I have mentioned in other posts that when I like something I like it too much... well readers... I'm REALLY liking the 1940's. Brace yourself for lipstick and waves posts for the next few weeks.

I never do my nails. I never remember and I've never bought a nail polish I'm madly in love with with. But I think I am going to start making 'em pretty... another way to get creative!

This is an ad... and a joke. But I'd DEFINITELY have that done to my nails if I knew someone that had the sort of patience doing this would require!

This may very well be the gaudiest thing I've ever seen but I'm really drawn to it. In the same way we're drawn to the cigarettes covering Lady Gaga's sunglasses. Is Gaga a compliment yet? You know, like "That's so GAGA!" Meaning fabulously outrageous.

I've been dreaming of headbands a lot lately. I feel they look funny on me but I still very much adore them.
I found this strictly headbands brand. Little Fille. Even the name is so appropriate and precious. These are definitely the amazing headbands ever. I guess they must be if this is their specialization.

Here it is. The shorts that came with the top from the last post. This was the second time I wore these in a week. I just feel so fantastic in them and so tall! I can't explain why but I just do. I also get a lot of looks in these. Pleasant looks! Excuse the exaggerated number of pictures. I just love this back yard and the lighting was amazing. And this little girl loves pictures! I am her babysitter :]

This blouse was part of a two piece set. Both pieces are absolutely amazing. The bottoms are these fabulous high waisted flowy shorts. It almost looks like a skirt and of course, its the same print. I wore them yesterday and I felt so great in them. Now THESE shorst featured here I also got at the thrift store. I am so happy to have finally found something like this. To think I almost paid$30 for a pair at Urban Outfitters. They were pants so I cut them right before wearing them. The pant was just a little too baggy. I got two other super cool things at the thrift store. It was all just $15! I think my wardrobe is set for the summer. Its been super hot here, but that's not a surprise, just an annoyance. Even in this little outfit I was veryyy hot.

Hello blogger world! Excuse my four day hiatus from you. Its not that I've been busy. (The last 6 months of my life have been the farthest thing from busy) My head has just been somewhere else for the last few days but not too far away... every day that went by that I didn't not blog my conscious would remind me of this New Post page. This is probably a good sign of my mind getting used to this new hobby. I still haven't heard back from that job I wanted which totally blows for too many reason... le sigh.
After a week or so of being away from fashion blogs I came back to realize that Vogue Nippon has THE BEST editorials.

I spent part of my day yesterday sitting on a dock starring at the sea. Thinking how big the ocean is, how there is a huge ecosystem in there. A wholeeeeee different world way bigger than ours. I started day dreaming of what it would be like if we could inhabit this place! My day dream looked sort of like this. This editorial is not only beautiful but so precise and detailed. Every article of clothing chosen, the hair, the make up, the lighting, the poses, they just make so much sense. We see a lot of underwater shoots but they hardly ever represent the beauty ocean. This one was done perfectly.

Water Wednesday

I had a wonderful Wednesday. After waking up entirely too early and running a few errands I decided to do a solo beach venture. I grabbed my thoughts, Einstein Dreams, March Vouge (I never finished reading it) and my Ipod. It was complete serenity. I had not been to the beach in far too long! I must mention that I bought a big floppy hat today. That had 85% to do with my decision to go to the beach.

This entire week I've been in total love with the Arctic Monkeys. I've always liked them but I definitely forgot about them for a while until I heard they were coming to Tampa and googled them to find out they came out with a new album late in 2009... and well, I'm soooo in love with it. The music, the somewhat different more grown up sound, the amazing lyrics and ALEX FREAKING TURNER! Goddd, he is so precious! I think my heart is going to fall out of my chest with every note he'll sing. This week of cyber stalking him I came to find out that he has a girlfriend. And not just any girlfriend but ALEXA CHUNG! How cute right? Alex and Alexa.... my heart is still broken.

The pants I've been waiting for

We're seeing pants everywhere aren't we? Not jeans, not stretchy stuff, not exactly harems either. Pants! And guess who finally got herself a pair? Yours truly. I found these babies at a new vintage store in my town. Its so precious! The presentation is amazingly flawless unlike so many vintage stores. Turns out this place might be hiring and I totally need a job so you bet I applied. This job would be perfect for me! So I'm crossing my fingers, sending out good vibes into the universe and contemplating killing a rabbit for its foot.... I MUST get this job.

That unusual smile surfaced from the hopes of possibly working at this place and of course from the joy of wearing these awesome pants. Those are my new shoes, Vince Camuto :]

A pop of color

I put this on practically in my sleep. I had to wake up too early to go see the doctor and run some errands. So I grabbed these pants that were conveniently never put away then one of the only tops I have clean (Its a floral lace somewhat see-through fabric). I remembered it was Spring and grabbed this awesome thrifted blazer. Nothing fancy and I like it.

My birthday is Monday so my awesome mother took me out today to a very delicious and authentic venezuelan breakfast in a hole in a wall restaurant. It was AHHmazing. I haven't had Venezuelan food that good outside of my grandmother's kitchen. After stuffing our faces until moving was difficult we soldiered our way through the mall. Where I found these.

My mother bought them for me as a birthday present. They are Vince Camuto and super duper comfortable. So yay, that made my birthday great.
I think its time to introduce you guys to my partner in overspending, silly moments, and great times. Mi Madre.

No she didn't have me when she was 16. She was just blessed with awesome genes. Hoping I got some of those too. Ain't she a doll? A stylish doll!

This is the cardigan I just got from UO. Its super light weight and it looks good tied and untied. Sorry for the low quality pictures. Its a shame you cannot see the texture on the top I'm wearing under the cardigan. Its also a floral print but black and cream. The black part is mesh and the cream is almost a velvet texture.

Favorite Book-
Don't laugh but my favorite book is Oh The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss
The message in it is incredible and its oh so inspirational. The day I read it I was feeling very down and worried about the future and then I read this book and well, I trusted Dr.Seuss haha.
Want an adult book? 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia-Marques is my second favorite book. Its politically charged with issues in South America back in the 60's and early 1900's yet they are so relevant now. Not to mention the genre is described as magical realism. Marques speaks of abnormal surreal things in the story as if they were real. Its an amazing story. Very long but very worth it.

I fail by 2 hours and 35 minutes, to make my day TWO post of my 30 Days of Blogging. So I'm going to cheat and post something else later. Possibly the outfit I wore on Saturday to one of the best parties I've ever been to.

I've been ranting about wanting to find a demin shirt but not wanting to pay $60 dollars for one... welllll, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. I stumbled upon an awesome demin shirt at PacSun on sale for only $20 AND my brother paid for it! So I win biggg time. The shirts were made to fit a little more taylored than I wanted a laid back demin shirt to fit so I went a size up. I shall post pictures as soon as I get the stuff I bought from Urban Outfitters. Once this arrives, I will be beyond ready for spring :]

The Golden Days by Balthus

This has become one of my favorite paintings. I've never looked at a painting and felt so drawn to it. It was more than the beauty and skill of the painter but what the painter could convey with just paint on a canvas. This might be my very first time 'getting' a painting. The fashion and glamour of it probably has a lot to do with it. This girl is confident, maybe even vain but she's a dreamer, and a romantic. She lies there, bored with the world but not with herself. She's not just admiring her beauty, although she is very aware of it, she's admiring her being and looking forward to something. Anything. She hears a knock on her door accompanied by the news that her suitor is there to see her. She's giddy but refined. Not having to hold anything back because she knows just how to act. They run through gardens. Play childish love games and she talks of things he doesn't understand but he would like to. When she judges her need to entertain and be entertained are satisfied she leaves him behind, hardly saying good bye, but still he will be back to see her again. She goes back to reclining without a care in the world.

This video is just as visually stimulating and inviting as the painting above. Ahh its so beautiful. The song is great just like all of A Fine Frenzy's songs. Enjoy :]

I am finally enrolled into school. Not where I pictured myself at 19-21 but I also didn't want to take a year off of school after high school and that turned out to be not that bad of a situation. The next two years of my life will require patience but hey, that's a lesson I still need to learn anyhow.
Now onto the weather... I feel the Florida summer in the air... and on my sweaty skin. I hate FL summers... Expect the outfit post from April Til September to be very naked.

Self discovery through a flowery path

I put this outfit on as it is in the first picture but I felt too girly. Nothing wrong with being too girly but Its just not me. Maybe my style is more like New York than it is a flowery LA.. So I added the blazer and the socks for an edgier trendier look. I haven't worn this anywhere. I put this together at midnight last night because I found myself restless and unable to entertain myself, so why not try on outfits right? I think the need to add the dark blazer and socks might have surfaced from watching too many FALL 2010 Runway shows... so here is my attempt to fall out of Fall and jump into Spring.
These are the trends that I'm excited for.

I'm digging these pale nail colors. I recently saw a blogger with a pale gray and I loved it! But I'll try some colors as well.

One Month

My blog is one month old today. Yay! I wish I had something fancy to celebrate this but I must confess I didn't prepare. Not because I didn't care but because its a huge surprise I even know the date. Its the truth, I'm a mess.

Here is what I do have. I came across this interview with Lady Gaga on the New York Times. I knew I liked Gaga but I wasn't sure why I did. Obviously I like her music and her eccentricity but we all know that doesn't necessarily belong to the performer, so that doesn't justify why I like her. I guess I always knew, or thought I knew, that it did belong to her, that is wasn't an act and that she did all this for a purpose. Well, this interview confirmed my suspicions.

I didn't feel weird about featuring Gaga on a fashion blog because to me Gaga is art and fashion She is doing a great job at making the world a little more aware of what she is and making the world accept it.
