In Japanese tradition, making one thousand paper origami cranes grants a wish. Last week the uptown community in Vancouver, WA gathered at Pop Culture(Vancouver's Premiere Soda Shop and All Ages Music Venue) to make paper cranes in the wish for health and recovery for Japan after the massive earthquake, tsunami, and impending nuclear disasters have taken their toll.

Over $2300 were raised at the event for Mercy Corps to aid in their relief efforts! If you'd like to donate to Mercy Corps, here's a link to the Cranes for a Cause donation page.

Mostly a lot of rock shows with the occasional open mic. But we are not limited to live music, we also host comedy, dances, parties and movie nights, and even a fashion show.
