Missing Twilight fanfiction, Edward and Bella, the bonding...all of it...

I have felt a void...it's been lonely out here.

The phenomena known as "TWILIGHT" brought millions of strangers together, and out of that union FanFiction became the secret of the uber-cool blog world. It was soooo fun to group obsess about MOTU, and I proudly reviewed dozens of FanFics. To our joy and chagrin, Icy (EL James) has become the "hottest" author on the planet, and Fifty will be in a theater near you at some point. UGH - you all know how much I despise mainstream Fifty. BUT.... it has opened the door for lots of other fanfic authors to actually publish stories we all read and loved. Here are two new mainstream book releases that PCJ reviewed a bazillion years ago.

Fanfiction "The Office" is now Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren, please recall Bulletsucker's fanfic review and our obsession with LaPerla lingerie!

Fanfiction "Edward Wallbanger" = Wallbanger by Alice Clayton, please recall my review and rec for y'all to read it.

I have already downloaded both to my kindle, and I look forward to re-reading them in book form. But here's the thing; has the compulsion to stay connected to Edward & Bella gone away for you??? Will there ever be another TWILIGHT to spawn such a bonding experience across the miles and generation gap???? Do you miss the preoccupation with the next chapter, the next movie release, the next HAWT photo???? I'll be honest, I do, and so do you.....!

Inspiration for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Movie Screenwriter: HOT Fan-made Movie Trailers!

Ok pretty ladies, I’m sure most of you have heard by now that screenwriter Kelly Marcel has been chosen to pen the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie script. I don’t know of her myself, and her work to-date doesn’t ring a bell, but I’m sure she’s very talented. So I was thinking we needed to send a little inspiration her way in the form of hot hot hot fan-made movie trailers from YouTube! Good idea, right?? Plus, it’s important that she sees Matt Bomer as Christian Grey, because he is. :)

So without further ado, this is my favorite Fifty Shades trailer so far. Mainly I love the hot Florence and the Machine remake of “Addicted to Love”, which is so fitting for the trailer. But I also love the footage the editor chose, with that #hotassshit scene with 50 looking intensely at Ana as she reviews the contract (at :42 seconds). I also like that I can actually see this as a legitimate TV preview for the movie. Like, can you picture just chillin’ on your couch watching ‘Dancing With the Stars’ and then this preview came on for the first time? Wouldn’t you lose your shit right there on the couch? I would.

This next trailer is new for me, as I just stumbled upon it recently, but I freaking love it. The quality imagery is superb and the song “Stripped” is so sexy. Could there BE a better choice for Christian Grey than Matt Bomer? I hear no objections, thank you.

Alrighty, the following isn’t a ‘Fifty Shades’ trailer, it’s just a montage of C-R-A-Z-Y hot clips from ‘White Collar’ that only further solidify our reason to cast Matt as 50. I mean, this video almost sort of pisses me off in a very strange backwards way because I feel like if MB doesn't get cast as CG, there is something really effing wrong here. P.S. You might need a change of panties after this..............Is this guy for realz??

And this final video is not necessarily one of the best fan-made vids I've seen, per se, but I love the music, and the question at 2:28 in the video that follows a shirtless Christian stepping up to a blindfolded Ana with handcuffs is so freaking seductive that it had to make my favorites list! How would you answer the question at 2:28, hmm?

I hope Kelly has been thoroughly inspired by these videos. And I also hope she hurries the heck up so we can see this movie in this lifetime. Get a move on movie people!!!!

Is Robert Pattinson the Sexiest Man in the World? Glamour Magazine thinks so!

For the 4^th year in a row Robert Pattinson has been named the Sexiest Man in the World by Glamour Magazine UK. Whaddya think?

First, let me say that People Magazine should def take a page out of Glamour’s book and start making young, hot men the Sexiest Man Alive in its annual issue. It's time to stay away from the likes of a certain yellow, snaggle toothed senior actor like Johnny Depp -- cause he just ‘aint sexy no 'mo. That being said, outside of its #1 pick, Glamour started sucking wind as the top 100 list went on. A guy I’ve never heard of that looks like this <-- was the runner up. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Did the editors of Glamour suddenly go blind after picking RPattz as their #1 guy? Did they decide on charity cases for #2 and beyond? In what world is Nick Jonas sexier than Bradley Cooper or Ryan Reynolds? Side note, Johnny Depp is #3 on this list, which completely discredits the entire thing.

But alas, at least RPattz was #1. Do you agree? Is Rob seriously THAT sexy? Now, a year ago I would’ve been like skipping all over my house and fist pumping at this distinguished title for RP. But now I’m just sort of like, meh. I mean, he’s def sexyasf*ck -- sometimes. But let’s define sexy. To me, sexy has swagger. Does Rob have swagger? He does as Edward……………………but sometimes his lack of confidence and goofy demeanor just sort of kills it for me. I know some of you think the goofy side of Rob is cuter than 6 puppies sleeping in a basket, but it sort of makes me cringe. And then I see certain magazine pics of Rob and I literally expire on the couch with the back of my hand pressed to my forehead, all fainty and stuff.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s HOT HOT HOT, and despite my declarations for Matt Bomer being cast as Christian Grey, he’s still popping in my head as my Fifty while reading Fifty Shades Freed. But I just don’t know if he’s THE sexiest man in the world for me, right now. What if we could pair Robert Pattinson’s looks with Ryan Gosling’s swagger and boyish charm? OMG, can you imagine? That shit wouldn’t be street legal! Here are just a few of my favorite smexy Rob pics, that def support his latest title...

I can’t talk about this Glamour list without mentioning that Matt Bomer came in at a disappointing #78 out of 100. That’s so beat. Right now, my sexiest man in the world would be Matt Bomer. It could be totes different in a couple months, but he’s my current obsesh.

Obviously this list was made by a bunch of old British ladies with really eclectic taste for bad teeth and greasy hair. Idk how they settled on RPattz as their #1, but at least they made a pretty well informed choice there, so they get some credit from me, I guess.

The ladies of Pop Culture Junkie finally meet 'Fifty Shades' author EL James!

Ladies, I’m so excited to tell ya that Bulletsucker and I finally got to meet EL James face to face this week! She came to San Francisco on her book tour, so obvy we had to make a trip into the city to meet our favorite erotic love story author!

Of course, leave it to us to not pay attention to the rules of the book signing, and find out the day before that we needed to purchase a ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ book from the store as our ticket in the door. DANG IT! So Bullesucker decides to take matters into her own hands and just tweet EL (or as we like to call her, ‘Icy’) and ask for a guarantee that we’d see her. BALLSY! I mean; remember how EL is the most famous author in the world right now? Just how many tweets do you think she gets a day? Like she’s gonna notice our single needle tweet in the haystack. Well, to my surprise, Icy tweets back “DM your names :).” Yay! Idk what this means, but it sounds so back stage passy. But hell, I’m still not convinced that’s all we need. So I purchase a book for insurance. Does Bulletsucker? Nope. She’s gonna act like she belongs, which she’s so much better at than me.

So I get there around 7:15ish and wait for Bullet, who is forever and a day late, but hell, we’re letting the crowed thin out. Thank goodness there was a restaurant/bar next door so I could order a martini to keep me company. Once Bullet pops up and we finish another round of cocktails, we make our way over. I step back and let Miss Thang do her thang and act like we belong. She says; “Um, hai, we’re on Erica’s list….we’re friends of hers.” Erica? We’re on first name basis now! LOL! The manager looks puzzled, like, I don’t know of any lists? But he says he’ll be right back, and scurries to the back of the store to ask someone if we can pass the line, I’m assuming. Then he comes back and waves us back - SCORE! So we got to pass the long line right up to the table where EL was signing books. Awesome!

A few of EL’s Twitter friends were hanging out and immediately asked how we knew the Fifty author. We said we did a podcast interview with her in Feb. 2011 and they were super nice and wanted to hear all about it. They invited us to the back room to chit chat, and brought up the oh-so-important-question: Who do you think should play Christian Grey in a movie? Uh, duh, isn’t it obvy? MATT BOMER! One of them mentioned Ian Somerhalder and I had to set her straight about how Christian Grey ‘aint no shrimp, so we need a bigger man to play the role. She caved when I showed her this Instagram pic of MattyB. My job is done here.

The manager peeked his head in the back room and said EL is almost done, so if we want a book signed, we need to go out there. Bulletsucker lays her 3 books down in front of Icy and says her name and asks if she remembers her. Icy looks up and sort of looks puzzled. Then I give her my books and say “I’m Courtney from Pop Culture Junkie.” She immediately perks up and says; “Oh yes, I do know you, I know these girls, I know these girls! If you would’ve said your Twitter names I would’ve known who you were right away! I’ve got to get up and give you all a hug!”

Yay, she remembered us! So when she finished signing books and taking a couple pics, she turned and gave us a hug each and posed for a few pics with us. She even asked me how my baby girl was, which was super sweet of her. P.S. Don't hate on my orange cardigan, I came straight from work!

Icy was the same chic that we interviewed a year and a half ago, totes humble and down to earth. It was so cool getting a chance to meet her in person. Needless to say, Bullet and I were on cloud 9 when we left.

The next day I sent our podcast with Icy to her Twitter friends that we met at the signing. Of course that means I sat and watched all 5 episodes of the podcast just to relive the fun times. I have to say, a lot of the stuff we heard on Katie Couric last week, we heard it first on Pop Culture Junkie!! Clearly EL James is NOT excited about Ian Somerhalder playing Christian Grey

Ladies, did you DVR Katie Couric’s new show today to see her interview EL James? Well, natch I did. As always, I love EL’s shy, humble demeanor, which hasn’t changed one bit since she has become mucho famouso. You can totally tell though, for a humble British lady like EL, having an hour long interview talking about her and how she’s changed the world seems like it might have been mildly mortifying. I mean, she told Katie it wasn’t painful in a good way. LOL! Good pain = getting flogged in the Red Room of Pain. Bad pain = an hour long interview with Katie Couric!

Aside from seeing if we learn anything new about EL in the Katie interview, what I really tuned in for was to hear who won Katie’s Facebook poll for casting Christian and Ana. As you know I’m 100% on Team Matt Bomer for Christian Grey. So clearly, I was beyond deflated when Ian Somerhalder won the poll -- which was apparently a close race, though they didn’t mention who was #2. And you know who else seemed not too thrilled with the results? EL James.

Doesn't the guy on the right looks supes cheesy in that pose and eyebrow face? Just sayin. And doesn't the guy on the left make you want to bend over his knee willingly? Uh huh, me too.

Unless I’m totes misreading her body language, upon hearing Ian’s name it looks as though EL was thinking; “Pshhhhhhhhhhh, meh.” I think at least 1 if not all 3 of her top 3 picks were in that poll, but idk, I don’t think Ian is one of them.

Here’s my beef with Ian Somerhalder… he wants to be Fifty #SOFREAKINGBAD. He’s been throwing his name in the hat in every interview he’s done over the last 6 months! Ok, so maybe only like two that I know of, but jeez, play hard to get, Ian, will ya? It’s so very un-Fifty of you. Also, I think he’d just play his Vampire Diaries character in the movie. Are you ok with Fifty the fangless vampire? That’s what you’re gonna get with Ian. He’s going to over-play Christian Grey. He’ll be too brooding, give too many of those chin-tucked-down-looking-up-at-Ana-with-piercing-glare-and-flaring-nostrils-look. (See image to the left as evidence.) He’s going to come across like 99 Shades of Creepy instead of Fifty Shades of F*cked Up. Plus, they better make sure they pick a short actress to play Anastasia, because our man Ian is a shrimp and a half.

Oh man, I’m on my knees here -- Fifty can’t be played by no shorty!

Seriously, I don’t know how else to say this in a more convincing way, but MATT BOMER HAS TO BE CHRISTIAN GREY. He IS Christian Grey, from the way that man can werrrk a suit, to his amazingly chiseled jaw, to his piercing blue eyes, to his over the top handsome good looks, to the way he freaking walks, to the way he talks. It’s cray cray to think of anyone else in that role, and at this point, I’ve gone down this path with my Bomersessed friends online and in RL, and I would be so disappointed in anyone else.

Pa pa pa please EL James, hire Matt Bomer to do the job. He’ll kill it -- in a good way!

As for who won the poll to play Anastasia, the winner is Gilmore Girls’ Alexis Bledel. What do you guys think? She’s a little too Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants innocent looking for me. I’ve got my eye on Felicity Jones (above, in the pic). She did a great job in an indie love story called Like Crazy and I totes think she can pull off Ana. But really, I think what’s most important is picking the right Fifty and then screen testing what actress plays well opposite our man. Because let’s be honest, all we care about is Fifty anyway.

I’ve had a nagging suspicion for a while that perhaps one of my worst nightmares has come true and Fifty Shades of Grey author EL James might hate me. Well, to be inclusive, she might hate Bulletsucker, too. She hates both of us. Maybe.

To anyone who is new to this blog you’re probably wondering WTF I’m talking about. Why on earth would the most famous author in the world at the moment have a clue that me or this little ole blog even exists. Well, she does. For my longtime homies, you know that EL James graced PCJ with her presence in a 5-part podcast series in February 2011 -- before she was famous. Back then she was a FanFiction author that went by the name “Snowqueens Icedragon”, or just Icy. So if she gave us her time and attention back then, you may be wondering why she would hate us now. Well, idk, this is Bulletsucker’s theory --> we’re old world fans still talking about “Master of the Universe” fanfic. We need to #shutthefuckup about MOTU and move on! It’s FIFTYSHADESOFGREY now!

*Throws hands in the air, surrendering*

OK, I’m over it--> MOTU WHO?? Christian, you’re the master of my universe, now.

All these insecurities stem from the fact that Icy (EL) used to respond to our tweets like she was our bestie… She was so accessible and we loved it! And obvy since she’s blown up she’s not as responsive… er, she doesn’t respond at all anymore. :( I should get my head outa my ass and accept that she’s mega famous now and I’m no longer her favorite person in the world. OK, FINE.

SO, Bulletsucker and I found out that EL is having a book signing in San Francisco on September 25^th and we literally jumped out of our thongs thrilled to pieces to meet her. And then fear struck. Oh fuckedy, I need to stop kidding myself, she’s annoyed with us trying to swing from her coat tails during the rise of FSOG. She wishes we’d just go away.

This is when I decided we needed to start a campaign called “Project: Get EL James to love Pop Culture Junkie again.” Look, she needs to remember why she fell in love with us in the beginning. I mean, we’re still just as funny and interesting and funny as we used to be. We just don’t blog and tweet as much as we used to because we’re just busier than we used to be. Hey, life happens.

On Thursday, I sent EL a nice little tweet to her @SQIcedragon twitter account saying I was coming to her book signing and excited to meet her in real life. So obvy you can imagine my excitement when, GASP, she tweeted back this --> @SQIcedragon to @CourtneyPopLife: Awesome! Look forward to meeting you after all this time. :) @Bulletsucker”

***SQUEE*** Maybe she doesn’t hate us after all? Was it all in my head? Should I stop being so narcissistic in thinking that the author of Fifty Shades of Grey has even thought about me or Bulletsucker since her book became a NY Times Bestseller? Whatevs, I’m just excited to go to the book signing and then hang out with EL afterward, grabbing a few martinis and waxing poetic about this cray cray post-Fifty world we live. Oh there I go again, thinking we’re besties…

'Breaking Dawn' press awkwardness, new porny book recs for you, and other important topics to discuss...

First, can you believe it's September already??

You know what that means: Breaking Dawn press tour! To be sure: this will be the Olympics of fumbling, twitching and stuttering through all the press junkets! But before we jump into the speculation of awkward Robsten moments, lets look back on what I did on my summer vacay!

It started with a pool party in Vegas over Memorial Day, minus a naked Prince Harry...*sighs*... a Seattle trip with several Escala drive-bys, a family wedding and a full summer of intoxicated poolside reading. I used to be known for reading book-ish novels, then Twilight and Fanfiction happened to me. I became addicted to kinky fuckery books.....I search the internet and consume untold amounts of wine - OK - my recyle bin is a tell all. But the stories I find are beyond ridiculous!

Samson's Lovely Mortal by Tina Folsom

This is number 1 in a series of vampire erotica. The best thing about these is that they're all set in San Francisco, but they actually deteriorate as the series continues. Bulletsucker wrote about the Black Dagger Brotherhood series (actually pretty good), but these are the dumb stepbrother version. In the third book, Gabriel's Mate, Gabriel has 2 cocks "to satisfy his dark carnal needs". Hmmmmm... My favorite line in this laughable book - "his orgasm hit him like an atomic bomb!" Well I would guess so.

Suddenly a Bride by Ruth Ann Nordin

Rilo comes from another planet, that only has men. He wants a life mate (wife), and comes to Earth to bond with Caitlyn. He stops his hormone supression medication and "keeps ejaculating into his pants" I kid you not!!! Drama ensues, yadayada... and he has to keep getting new pants!

Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye

Trapped in an elevator in darkness - kind of like my daughter in New Orleans during hurricane Isaac. Anywho - lots of' "in the dark" sex and then awkwardness when the lights come back on. No surprises - but not terrible.

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie Mcguire

This is actually kind of creepy. This guy, Travis, is a borderline stalker and Abby is a mess and it's a destructive relationship. Perfect summer reading.

Now, there is one book I can actually reccommend without hiding my head in shame - ish:

On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves

A summer tutor job involving a 17 year old boy and his 30 year old tutor involves a plane crash on an island, and for nearly 4 years of "Castaway/Lost", a lot of sex happens, so does a lot of island shit.

This is a small spattering of the depravity of my summer reading - if you need more, just ask.

But, as we pull out our tights and boots for fall - big questions remain to be answered:

Will the end of Twilight mean the end of Fanfiction as we have come to know it?
Will "Fifty" replace Twi as the pop culture obsession? Who will be cast in the movie, and when will the movies be out?
Will colored denim still be popular through the fall and winter?
Will I remember to turn my clock back in November?
Will the Hunger Games sequel be as great as the first one?
Will the TWILIGHT premier be super-weird and uncomfortable?? (YES!)

But really, take a minute - what will it feel like to say good-bye to the Cullens? I feel verklempt, how about you?

Who should play Christian Grey in “Fifty Shades” movie? This guy…

Two years ago when I originally read the life changing, job suffering, marriage improving story of “Fifty Shades”, the only man that I could envision in my head was none other than Robert Pattinson. Sure, it was a pimped out version of RPattz, with phenomenal pecs and abs, but it was his face all the same. It’s all fine and good to piece together the perfect specimen of a man in your head when it’s all make believe fantasizing. But soon, Fifty Shades is going to come to life on the big screen, and then the shits gonna get real. We need to find the perfect Fifty. And we can’t choose anyone that doesn’t possess the following attributes:

Sex hair
Beautiful face
Insane body
#jawporn
A believable sex god -- maybe this isn’t an “attribute”, but just go with it

After careful research and consideration, including hours and hours of thinking about this, internet stalking, and studying fan made YouTube ‘50’ videos, I’ve decided that the perfect Christian Grey is Matt Bomer of ‘White Collar’…and ‘Magic Mike’! This guy is so Fifty, it’s not even funny. To be sure, let’s go down our requirements for 50…. Sex hair (check!), beautiful face (check!), insane body (check!), #jawporn (check!), believable sex god…well, that remains to be seen. White Collar isn’t exactly sexing it up on the small screen -- it’s a detective show. *yawn*

For the last two weeks I decided to take up watching ‘White Collar’to see if I could really see Fifty when I watched him. I even took notes as my homework for this blog post. See below:

Great hair - could easily be sex hair
Looks fantastic in a suit
Smooth voice, sounds like Bruce Wayne
Look at that strut -- a total pimp limp!

I don’t know how I was introduced to Matt Bomer as a potential Fifty actor, but I’ve been leaning his direction for several months. I follow this great Facebook fan page called “Matt Bomer as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey”, and they’re constantly posting the hottest pics of Bomer, and sometimes they’ll add a quote from the book that matches the image perfectly -- love it! You should def follow the page for some major eye candy in your FB feed!

I seriously want to bombard EL James with Bomer requests because I know they’re likely deep in discussions on this very topic right now, and we all know EL has major input on this decision. He’s out of hiding: A heartbroken Robert Pattinson is looking good and holding his own.

He’s come out of hiding! Robert Pattinson finally showed his face to the public for the first time since the KStew cheating scandal on Monday night at the premiere of his new film Cosmopolis, as well as his first TV interview on the Jon Stewart Show the same day. There was much speculation as to whether Rob would fulfill his Cosmopolispromotional duties in the wake of the situation, because let’s be honest, he’s humiliated and doesn’t want to bare the pity pouts and stars of ogling fans who want to know how he’s doing. I get that. But thankfully, he showed he had balls and wasn’t a flake about his responsibilities, and showed up on the red carpet. Good boy, Rob!

Just before the red carpet he paid a visit to the Jon Stewart Show and jeez, you could tell he was nerviouso! Holy awkward everything. When Rob is uncomfortable he does this giggly laugh throughout the interview and he pretty much babbles vs. answering questions directly. But this isn’t anything new; he did this before KStew fucked him over. Remember my blog “Calling all speech coaches, Robert Pattinson needs you!” Now, now, before you get all pissy with me about being mean, just know that I think he did pretty well, considering the sitch. In the 8 minute interview I was sort of holding my breath for the guy. Even when Stewart (Jon) made a couple directs references to a break up, or kicking KStew to the curb (which got wild applause and cheers from the audience!), he still kept his composure and didn’t run away screaming, which is a funny mental image, btw. Btw, can you imagine how much it would suck to have s-e-x with that dude whenever you wanted and then you make one major mistake and you’re suddenly just like the rest of us fangirls – watching from afar, salivating, fantasizing. Ugh, that would blow so bad, right?Oh well, I don’t feel sorry for her. She sucks.

If you haven’t heard by now, Kristen Stewart has now been declared the stupidest woman in the world for cheating on the biggest heartthrob in the world – Robert Pattinson. I actually just declared that statement, by the way.

Following the US Weekly news flash last night of her cheating scandal with Snow White & the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, KStew issued a public statement saying:

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

Isn’t it sad that the first time she publicly declares her love for Rob comes at a time when she’s publicly apologizing for CHEATING on him??

KStew supporters and disbelieving Twi-hards were standing by Robsten, declaring the news and proof pics to be a fake. I’m imagining their faces falling, shoulders slumping, and future “Robsten” obsessing schedules looking bleak when Kristen made that apology statement. But it’s true – straight from the greedy horse’s mouth.

I just think it’s so bizarre. Supposedly the cheating happened just 8 DAYS ago on July 17^th in LA. Hasn’t Kristen been with Rob at Comic Con and the Teen Choice Awards in the last couple weeks? And haven’t they seemed happy and normal? I would think if you’re into someone else enough to cheat on your BF, then you’d be acting a little stand offish with your man. I mean, obvy I don’t see how they are behind closed doors, but that seems pretty shady how she can cheat and be with Rob the next day, all smiles. Plus, it’s also odd that the notoriously paparazzi shy celeb would be so stupid as to be outside snuggling with her director in public view where cameramen could potentially be lurking!

Did I mention her director is a married man and father of two? That’s off the charts shadeballs, Kristen. Plus, he’s twice her age – gross.

How will this effect Edward & Bella?

Although my Twilight/Robsten obsession has definitely waned in the last year due to becoming a mommy in real life, I’m not gonna lie; the news stunned me and gave me a pit feeling in my stomach. I can’t help it, I feel wretched. This isn’t just her own relaysh she’s fucking with. She’s fucking with Edward and Bella’s relaysh! How is this going to affect Breaking Dawn Part 2 red carpet and press events? As viewers, are we going to feel sad watching the movie, knowing E&B are no more? I know it’s just a movie, but for us serious Twi lovers, we can’t help but love that Edward and Bella transcended the movie screen and came to life in Kristen and Rob. Fairy tales do come true, we thought!

But didn’t we always know there would be an end? I mean, they’re young and hot in Hollywood. Did we really expect them to get married and pop out babies at 24?? It’s so unrealistic to expect that. If they did, that would be pretty cool, but I always knew it was too good to be true.

Is it over between them? Who knows? But I do think this is embarrassing for RPattz and even if he could forgive her, his public image would slip coz he’d look like a wimpy puss for sticking with her. He should go out and experience life. Experience the ladies! Become the biggest eligible bachelor in Hollywood, Rob! Sure, being 50% of Robsten helped his career during the Twilight movies, but being single might help his career going forward – just like being single helped Justin Timberlake post-Britney!

Newly Addicted to "Fifty Shades of Grey"

I remember way back when...before Christian Grey, when I heard Fifty Shades of Grey mentioned. It was back in March when my boss came in and said; "If you're looking for a good book read Fifty Shades of Grey, I hear it's the next big thing." I put it on the backburner. I had no time working full-time and having a 3-year old at home. Besides, it's probably all just hype anyway.

Then summer hits and my sister gives me her E-reader since she has upgraded to a Kindle. "What book do you want me to download for you," she asks. "I really want you to get into using this, its so much better than a book!"

I thought about it and remembered all the news I've heard regarding 50 Shades; what my boss said so many months ago, and I giggle as I think of the Saturday Night Live parody. I said; "How about Fifty Shades of Grey?" The next day she hands me the E-reader and tells me its all charged and ready to go. She tells me that she hopes I use it and like it!

That night after my 3 y.o heads to bed I turn on the E-reader... And since then, real life has been a blur. I am too busy with Christian and Ana! I stayed up 'til 2AM reading the first book. Here it is Wednesday and I am on book 3 and although I could hurry through it, I find myself taking my time so that it isn't over already! Thinking back to that SNL spoof makes me chuckle! Even my husband is aware of the media blitz over 50. "What is it with that book that all the women want to read it??" I think to myself, should I let him in on this?...Nah, not until I am at least finished with the trilogy.

Movie Christian

Now I have to put my two cents in as to who should play Christian...I vote for James Scott from Days of Our Lives. He is the only capable actor on the show. His story line already has proven that he can play this demanding roll with many mood changes and expressions that he has nailed perfectly. And since he is as soap actor, he isn't all that well known in the mainstream leading man category. He has enough experience and anononimty to pull it off.

Whoever they pick I hope it matches EL James' description perfectly..too many of the actors I see mentioned just don't fit. As to who I think who should play Ana, I'm not all that interested...come on who really cares? Don't we all picture ourselves as Ana anyway?? :)

Movie Review: 'Katy Perry’s Part of Me The Movie' concert tour is a must see! (I promise you'll like it!)

I had a wide open Sunday afternoon and I felt the best way to kill time would be to sit in a dark theater on this beautiful 82 degree day and watch Katy Perry’s new 3D concert tour movie “Part of Me The Movie.” Not gonna lie; part of the draw was seeing how her marriage to Russell Brand unraveled. BUT I also really wanted to see her tour when it came through my neck of the woods and I didn’t, so this was the next best thing. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Justin Bieber’s concert movie “Never Say Never” last year, and I figured Katy’s would likely be just as entertaining, so why not? And I can honestly say it was really good! And the fact that it was in 3D added a really cool element to it that made you feel like you were actually there at the concerts.

What can you expect? Well, you get plenty of time watching her perform her greatest hits in concert, which include all the fantastical fashions and backdrops that are very Katy Perry-esque. You’ll see home movies of her as a child and of her as an 18 year old doing video blogs talking about her strict Pentecostal upbringing and how she felt breaking free from her ultra sheltered life to pursue a music career. And in the beginning of the movie you see a gushing girl in love as Katy talks about her husband Russell Brand, and how they’ll be together forever. This only makes the end of the movie where you see her marriage crumble feel that much sadder as a viewer, watching a heartbroken, sobbing Perry prepare to take the stage for the umpteenth time during her year-long tour, knowing what she’s going through.

I know we only saw her perspective of the marriage and we don’t know why Russell never made the effort to travel to see her on tour, but you definitely felt for the girl when she sunk into a sad, sad place at the end. And she definitely appreciated her fans more than ever during that difficult time, and she cried watching them cry as she sang sad songs about love gone wrong post-split. Yep, it was touching.

Katy’s def a likable pop star and I didn’t realize how much I actually did like her and her music until I sat through the movie. She’s got a lot of great songs! In fact, she’s the first female artist in history to have 5 #1 singles on a record -- The Beatles don’t even have that many hits on one album. I found myself comparing her a bit to Lady Gaga because they’re both major female pop stars today, and I’m thinking I actually like Katy better. She’s more relatable, and though she’s kind of quirky, the visuals she has at her concerts and the way she dresses is more visually appealing; very story book, like Alice in Wonderland type stuff, whereas Gaga has completely unattractive, weirdass stuff going on at her concerts that leave you perplexed as to how someone even came up with something like that! But, obvy I like Gaga too, just making an observation.

I’m totes loving Katy’s new song “Wide Awake” and I wonder if it was written after her break up with Russell. I watched something once where she said she writes songs that somehow end up becoming true, like a sad breakup song she wrote pre-marriage is now coming out as the new single when they split. Like, I would’ve thought “Part of Me” was written about Russell, but it was already on her album even before they met! But I noticed she re-released her “Teenage Dream” album with 7 new songs, now called “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection”.It includes “Wide Awake” and some other sad/mad songs, so I’m thinking she couldn’t wait to get the music out there while it was timely and relevant to her life at the moment.

So anyway, if you’re into concert tour movies (I even loved Glee’s 3D concert movie!!), and you’re into pop music, I’d def recommend grabbing a girlfriend and hitting a theater to see “Part of Me.” Or you can do it like me and just go by yourself, whatever!

‘Magic Mike’ is box office gold, but it may leave you wanting more…

Having watched the previews of HOTSEXY shirtless men dance around on stage for the past two months got me totally pumped to go see ‘Magic Mike’ on Friday night with my lady friends. I mean c’mon; a movie with Channing Tatum, the sexy werewolf from ‘True Blood’, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer (my new FIFTY) and a few others playing strippers? Uh mah god, SCHWING! And to top it off, I was hearing the movie was getting good reviews -- cool! So my girls and I threw back a cocktail and lined up for the stripper movie, our inner goddesses literally jumping from foot to foot in giddy excitement! Of course the moment the movie starts the theater is erupting in hoops and hollers, with cat calls coming from all 4 corners of the theater. Awesome, I love when ladies objectify men so brazenly.

I’ll say that I haven’t had that much fun in a long time, actin’a fool literally sitting forward on the edge of my seat, as if I was expecting Channing to dance right to me in 3D or something. But let’s get down to the basic overview of the movie, without spoiling the plot for you slow asses that haven’t seen the movie yet.

SO, Mike (Tatum) is some jack of all trades dude who dabbles in a few businesses that he’d like to start if he could get his shit together, but where he makes his real money is dropping trou on stage in a male review club in Tampa. He meets this young guy at his side construction gig, which he names The Kid (Alex Pettyfer), and invites him out to pick up chicks and bring them down to the club that night. The Kid ends up getting sucked into the stripper lifestyle of money, girls, and partying and his sister Booke (Cody Horn) throws around some major ‘tude at Mike when she thinks her brother is going down the wrong path. Mike spends a good deal of the movie trying to get the stick out of Brooke’s ass so he could replace it with his own (oops!) and ultimately, what all this really leaves the female audience thinking is: LESS PLOT, LESS DIALOGE AND MORE STRIPPING!!!!!!!!!! Hey Mike, zip it (your mouth), and dance neked already!!

Alright, alright, so the movie wasn’t bad at all. But idk, I think my expectations were just set up to see hot dance moves for 90 minutes, so I was slightly bored with anything else. Hell, I spent like 30 minutes on Friday before the movie watching and sending CHAN-A-GRAMS to all my friends, getting butterflies from pure anticipation! Maybe I should stop taking my frustrations out on this movie and just get my ass to Vegas to see some Thunder from Down Under for a ladies WEEKEND? Jeez, I sound so freaking desperate.

Ah well, I thoroughly enjoyed myself, but if I was going to give the movie a rating, I’d probably give it 3 out of 5 stars. I don’t know though, I obvy need to see it again to make a more clear headed decision seeing as though I was sipping cocktails throughout the movie and my mind is somewhat foggy.

I’m happy to hear the movie made nearly $40 million at the box office this weekend, with an audience that was 75% women -- well duh. I hope this means that Hollywood and entertainment people are taking some serious note that women pay $$$$ for hot men, sex, and the like, with ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ also proving this claim to be true!

So anyway, I know I didn’t sing its praises too convincingly here, but I’d still recommend going to see ‘Magic Mike’ -- just don’t take your boyfriend or hubby. Make it a ladies night with cocktails before, during and after, and you’re guaranteed a good time. :)

True Blood, You Made Me

Dare I say it Truebies, but this season's a tease! All we have gotten are a few shots here and there of a shirtless Jason or half-neked Eric, but no real eye-candy to freeze-frame discuss seriously. Pretty much every character's actions this episode teased us in some way, and I'm feeling very unsatisfied.

Tease #1: Tara doesn't actually go through with drinking the stranded motorist's blood. She gets all creeped out at her own reflection as a vamp, and scurries off. Sam helps her by giving her all the True Blood she can down before the sun rises, and then sticks her in the walk-in freezer when she falls into her day sleep. Does anyone else find it ironic that he puts an out-of-order sign on the freezer door?

Tease #2: Moar Pam & Eric history. The more we get, the more questions I have. Eric's a big ol' tease, giving us very little to ogle, and we don't even get to see him bite Pam when he decides to change her. *pout*

Tease #3: Lafayette pours a bottle of bleach into his simmering, and what I can only guess to be delish, gumbo. Crazy? Nah, he's just having a flashback of Jesus' brujo mask. He shakes himself out of it, tosses the gumbo down the drain, and leaves us still pondering, where is Jesus' body?

Tease #4: Terry can't disclose any info to Arlene, except that he's leaving and doesn't know when he'll be back. Oh, and he's also going to do some top secret stuff with his weirdo army buddy, but he won't tell us that either. How much longer will we pretend to care?

Tease #5 & 6: Jessica wants Claude, whom I thought would have been much better looking since in the books, he's supposedly a male model/Magic Mike type. Jessica doesn't know who or what Claude is, yet, but his yummerliscious scent is enough to entice her back to Jason, who won't sleep with her because he just had an epiphany after sleeping with his high school teacher AGAIN. The tease here? No butt shots of Jason WHAT-so-EVER. How come he had to put his chonies and jeans on while sitting down? What happened to seductive sweet-or-crunchy-pickles-Jason? Why does he get down on himself so often? Be a real friend, Jessica, and help him out of his chonies.

Tease #7: Eric & Bill both get jiggy with Salome, at different times. The only one neked? Salome. *le sigh*

Tease #8: Nora isn't dead yet, even though she's admitted to being a Sanguinista. I'm pretty sure if she remains alive long enough to meet up with Pam, they are not going to have tea and crumpets at their reunion. She's another character I haven't bought into yet, so HBO is teasing me with the whole, will she or won't she live and see Eric again? Can they at least have reunion sex as hot as last time?

Tease #9: Debbie Pelt's parents have come looking for her, and Alcide convinces them she is back on V, unpredictable, and a straight-up h00r. Then he finds out what really went down in Sookie's kitchen, and he gets slightly upset. He's all huffing and puffing, and ready to blow... and then he just walks away. Seriously. He doesn't even turn into a were. Obvi, Debbie's a boner killer for all of us, but Alcide is the ultimate tease in the scene that changes Sookie's relaysh with the hottest, literally, supernatural she knows.

Tease #10: Final tease of the night is someone we are still waiting to see in all his glory... Russell Edgington. When the hell is this prima donna going to show his reconstructed mug again? We didn't even get a visual tease this week-- he is just the topic of convo that still keeps us hanging on! Come on, Rusty! We miss your evil ways, and can't wait to see the look on Fuck Up #1 & #2's faces when y'all reunite.

Hey everyone, Colleen here. SOOO, I guess I simply have to stop fighting "Mainstream Fifty." There is simply no escaping it. Everywhere I look, there is a women with a copy. Fifty is in the nail salon, gym, all over Las Vegas, my condo pool, my sister-in law's kitchen island, my nieces' nightstand - you know - EVERYWHERE! Bulletsucker shared Fifty parodies in her recent blog "Fifty Shades of Pop Culture" - and it was too funny - THX! But there is no stopping the onslaught, even the cheesy stuff. I also have a book rec - well sort of, it was all over the "blog world" as a women's erotica book trilogy, like "Fifty Shades." Understatement of the year - it is Fifty-lite. Main characters: Gideon Cross - bazillioaire, business guy with a troubeled past (snooze) & Eva - cutesy non-attached hottie. (whatever). I read the first book: Bared to You by Sylvia Day.

That's about all I have to say about that.

True Blood's Authority Always Wins

Truebies, Season 5 is only two episodes in, and already we have bitchy new vamps, bitter old vamps, and brooding in-betweeners. How much more drama can we pull out of all the characters, and still have something left for Sookie, who really isn't the star of the show anymore? All she does nowadays is evade vamps trying to suck her fae-jayjay, while fighting to keep all those she loves out of danger. Will she ever get to settle down and live out her dream of sitting on her porch, holding her grandbabies and watching the sun set? I just want to see her happy already.

Alas, neither she nor we are not going to be rewarded in such an easy manner. Sookie will have to endure wrath after wrath, not only from her enemies, but also her nearest and dearest this season. Therefore, I've decided I'm cheering Team Sookie all the way, with fewer vamps interfering in her happiness, less drama, and more love. It's all just my silly dream, considering Sookie just became the new caretaker of baby-vamp/ Tazmanian devil Tara. Nobody thought this was going to be easy, but day-am Gina! Could Tara take it easy on the renovations in Sookie's casa? Who's going to pay for a new fridge or that light fixture above the sink? Lala and Sookie get Tara into Eric's old bed before dawn, but then Lala realizes maybe turning Tara wasn't the best idea. As he wrestles with staking his cousin, Sookie talks him down, convincing him that the real Tara is inside the vamp exterior, and she will eventually, with lots of love and support, be okay. Not likely, y'all. When Tara wakes on her second night as a vamp, she tells her bff & cousin that she will never forgive them, and runs off into the night, but not before accidentally getting sprayed with Sookie's anti-Russell juice as she's leaving through the front door. Not soon enough, I say. I don't think Tazmanian Tara left much in tact in the house, and the landlord is indisposed at this time. Again, Sookie's left to clean up a big mess.

Speaking of the landlord, Eric, along with Blah Bill, gets interrogated by the Authority at their secret underground lair in N'awlins. They get all sorts of stuff done to them (not really) and finally get to meet the Big Cheese aka Detective Stabler Roman, who can apparently speak an ancient vampiric language that's kinda sexy. We also meet some new Authority vamps, one of whom is a 10-year-old kid (oh-kay?) Guess what else is revealed? There's a vampire bible which states that Lilith was the first vampire made by God, who is also a vampire; Adam & Eve were made to feed her. The Authority is hell bent on maintaining a "working" vampire/ human relaysh, where they coexist peacefully, so that vamps can continue to eat them mainstream. Big Cheese wants to kill Eric & Bill, but his round table of misfits can't decide one way or another. So, Bill being the negotiator that he is, offers his life in exchange for Russell Edgington's. When Big Cheese asks why he wasn't killed the first time around, Bill explains that they thought the true death was too easy for him, and they wanted him to suffer. *EYE ROLL* Eric & Bill are spared, for now.

Guess who else is spared... from a bad relaysh? Luna finally dumps Sam cuz he suggested that she allow Emma to see her werewolf grandmother and the rest of the pack. That same night, Emma turns into a wolf for the first time, and it's a bit of a given that Luna will probably go grovel to Sam about how she made a mistake, was wrong, blah blah blah. I hope Sam doesn't take her back, cuz being linked to the wolf pack only gets you into weirdo trouble; Alcide knows exactly what I'm talking about, and goes off on his own, relinquishing the packmaster position, along with the entire pack. I hope he's making his way to Sook's house, though. He's part of my silly dream for Sookie being happy.

Lastly, Terry's PTSD is acting up somethin' fierce, so Arlene goes to talk to Patrick about Terry's war history. Neither she nor we get any answers, but Terry and Patrick finally start working together to figure out why their houses caught fire. All I can say is, if this plot line doesn't start going somewhere, I'm going to lose any interest built up so far, kinda like I've done for Andy and Holly.

This episode didn't move as fast as the premier, but I still want to thank the writers for making me laugh and swoon at the following scenes:

True Blood's Turn! Turn! Turn!

Junkies, I've been letting this season's premier really sink in the last few days, and I'm not sure I'm ready for Season 5 to be here. I mean, I've been waiting and waiting, along with all of you, for this season to begin, but now that it's here, I'm kinda... *gulp*... afraid to be disappointed. I foresee this season as one that could be really entertaining, or really terrible. Aptly titled "Turn! Turn! Turn!" for several reasons, I'm not sure I can handle Tara as Pam's progeny, Lafayette literally losing Jesus, Eric humping his "sister," Alcide & Sam against the wolf pack, Russell Edgington on a leash, Terry/Arlene/Patrick tense convos, Andy & Holly getting caught neked in bed by Holly's teenage sons (srsly.) AND Hoyt hating Jason FOREVER. I'm pretty sure we haven't seen the last of the faes or the werepanther people. Anyone I'm forgetting?

Let's start with the big plot line of the episode, Tara's death/turning/attack on Sookie. Yes, we knew Tara was going to be around this season, but not to what extent. Within one hour, we have a baby vamp who's full of possibilities; anyone else scared where this could go? Tara has some serious baggage, and turning her will be trying for her maker, bff and cousin, and much more so for all of the people that have wronged her. So, who's she going to eat first? Well, she goes after Sookie probably because she not only smells of yummerliscious fae blood, but also cuz she is conveniently close. Of course Tara's not going to eat Sookie, cuz Pam still needs her to pay up, but one can only hope that the confrontation scene that is bound to happen between the bffs will be short and sweet. Yes, you hate vamps, Tara; yes, your bff traded unknown favors for your turning; yes, now you belong to Pam. I wonder if death would have been better?

Guess who else was turned? "Steve Fuckin' Newlin!" that's who! And he's now a preppy gay American vampire who is in love with Jason Stackhouse. Well, who could blame him? Jason is one hawt piece of man-meat that everyone wants, including indecisive Jessica, who thinks she can have her way with him, and then ignore him-- oh wait, she already did that last season. Of course that doesn't drive Jason away, and neither does her ear-splitting rendition of "Cherry Bomb." He wants her, even when she tells him she's just using him for a good time once in a while, and then turns & tongue-wrestles with another guy. Awwww, Jay-jay, you're getting too soft on us. Stop being the sensitive guy you've turned into since you were tied up & raped by all those werepanther ladies last season; get back on the proverbial slut, cuz Jessica is a dead end, pun intended. Plus, Hoyt will never be friends with you, Jay, if Jessica is still in the picture, and I'd hate for that life-long friendship to end, even though Hoyt is *yaaaawn* what was I saying? Oh yeah, somebody kill Hoyt off this season, please.

Speaking of dead ends, looks like Eric & Bill's kidnapping-->escape-->reapprehension is on again, this time with the voice of God a.k.a. The Authority stopping them in their tracks. What will our heroes do to get out of this predicament? Well, I know what producers did to help our dynamic duo-- just add more characters! Eric's "sister," Nora, from the same maker, Godric, *missed* him very much, as made obvious by the scene in the shipping container, leading to his confession to Bill, "We fight like siblings, but fuck like champions." Did you cringe or gigglesnort when you heard that one? Either way, you're going to get a new Eric this season-- he's no longer smitten with Sookie... for now.

Buuuuut, guess who still IS smitten with our fav blonde kitten? Our fav dog, Alcide, who tries to get Sookie to stay at his place cuz she's in "danger." Lala gets in Alcide's mug and tells him to leave-- probably not what he's going to be saying when Edgington shows up at Sookie's door. Meanwhile, the wolf pack abducts Sam, beats him and threatens his lil family in exchange for information on the whereabouts of the pack master that Alcide killed last season. Of course, Alcide comes to Sam's rescue, refusing to let him take the fall, admits to killing Marcus, and is ready to take on the pack cuz he is one bad-ass mofo. Luna & her daughter Emma are still around, so Sam may still get lucky and find happiness... LOL yeah right! No one on this show gets that lucky...

-Not Terry & Arlene, whom may be living in the Bellefleur mansion, but have an uber-weird unexpected visitor, Patrick, from Terry's war days. He talks all covert, but that's probably cuz he's military, right?

-Not Russell Edgington, who just wants to live out loud, but apparently has been taken captive by an unknown source who's keeping him locked up, but well fed.

-Not Jesus, who just wanted to die in peace and come back as a recurring role. Instead his body and the chair he died in have disappeared from Lala's living room.

-Not Andy & Holly, who weren't expecting to be greeted by Holly's sons in such an awkwardsauce way.

Junkies, it's finally here! True Blood Season 5, based on Dead as a Doornail and subsequent books, starts in less than 48 hours, and I'm so excited I could cry, kinda like this...

Preview: Don't Cry It's Back

But enough of the tears of joy that my our fave vamp show is back, let's talk plot lines! Last season, we lost4 key characters in the finale: Debbie (Alcide's cray-cray ex,) Nan (AVL mega-beeyotch,) Jesus (Lafayette's lovah,) and Tara (Sookeh's bff.) We know for sure only one of these characters isn't coming back-- Nan's true death was an excellent scene, espesh when Bill screams, "We are not fucking puppy dogs!" Buuuuuuut, do we really know fer sure that we've seen the last of Debbie, Jesus, or Tara? Well, Rutina Wesley has confirmed that Tara will be back this season, and good thing, because this season picks up right where we left off-- with Sookie cradling a bloody Tara on her kitchen floor, screaming for help. I'm pretty sure we can expect Tara to remain human, thanks to some V, prolly from one of Sookie's blood bonds-- Eric or Bill will feel her pain and come to her rescue... maybe?

Jesus is definitely coming back via his medium ex, Lala. Annnnnnnnd, why HBO would tease us like this unless Debbie Pelt is coming back, right? I'm not sure what she's going to look like when and if she does come back, but I'm sure it won't be *pretty.* Last but certainly not least is Russell Edgington, who's come back from the grave, literally-- remember that look on Alcide's face in Season 4 finale? True to the supernatural beings that make Bon Temps such a drama-ridden town, we have several "dead" characters who aren't really dead. Go figure.

And while we may be seeing some recurring dead peeps, we are surely going to see some brand-new characters this season. Remember Season 2, when wayyyyy too many characters were introduced, and we got all confuzzled? Well, get your brain ready, cuz we got some *really new characters, and by that I mean, they're not in the books, so I have no idea what kind of plot lines we're going to be led down.

Claudette-- female faery, triplet sister of Claude and Claudine

*Kibwe--male vampire, member of the Authority Council, from Africa

*Nora-- female vampire, sired by Godric

Anti-climatic MTV Movie Awards: M.I.A. Winners, no Best Kiss reenactment? LAME!

I can honestly tell you that I have no idea what channel MTV is on, but tonight I did a little channel search when I remembered that the MTV Movie Awards were airing. I have to say, year over year the movie awards are always sort of a messy live show. I’ve said this before, but it seriously looks like it’s produced out of someone’s basement. But anyway, my commentary tonight isn’t really about the production skills of MTV, but about the boringass show they produced tonight. I was thinking this could potentially be a nail biter because Twilight owns the show every year and this year the franchise finally had competition with the Hunger Games! And was it a nail biter? HELLZ NO! We’re lucky if the winning stars even showed up for the freaking event! How. Freaking. LAME?

I was immediately surprised when they read the Best Male Performance category and Robert Pattinson wasn’t even nominated for Breaking Dawn! Don’t misunderstand what I’m saying here; I def don’t think Rob is the best actor in a category that included Channing Tatum and Josh Hutcherson, but isn’t he nominated like, every year? And doesn’t he usually win? I’m too lazy to actually look up this fact, but I’m going on a hunch. Josh Hutcherson of Hunger Games won and I was pleased with that, although I would’ve rather seen Channing Tatum win for The Vow, which was an awesome movie. Then to add to my surprise of RPattz not being nominated, Kristen Stewart was also not nominated for the Best Actress category! Again, I 100% believe she should never win actress awards, but I’m just a little shocked because I got used to seeing her ass stutter around awkwardly on stage beating the likes of Sandra Bullock for Best Actress. Child, please. What is going on, where did the Twi-hards go? Did they just simply grow up or did they move on to HG?

But alas, Twi-hards showed up when it counted to vote Breaking Dawn the Best Movie! (Not that I saw this because the show ran long and my DVR didn’t catch it!) Not gonna lie; I think Hunger Games was a WAY better movie than Breaking Dawn! But this award show is never about the actual best of the best, it’s a popularity contest for tweens to vote their brains out, so whatever.

And can we talk about the fact that MAJOR winners weren’t even present for the show? I mean, I actually think it was a huge bummer that Jennifer Lawrence didn’t show up to thank the fans for winning Best Actress. Here she is the biggest thing since sliced bread right now with her role as Katniss Everdeen in HG, and she couldn’t find 24 hours to fly in for that event and back to some set, or wherever she is? Lame. And the biggest EPIC FAIL of the night was Robert Pattinson being M.I.A. and not being present to accept the Best Kiss Award with KStew. I mean, I’m always let down by those two yahoos totes corny and annoying non-kiss acceptance speech, but I always hold out hope that they’ll just get over themselves and give us a little frenchy for good measure. LAME. Funny enough, I actually think Kristen did a much better job with her solo acceptance speech than she normally does when she’s sharing the stage with kooky Rob.

The show went by with 0 fanfare and will hardly be talked about after 24 hour. I miss the days of hot on-stage Best Kiss remakes ala Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams or hell, even Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair! Either the show is just getting worse or I’m getting older, but I’m not nearly as entertained as I once was by this Wayne’s World-like production. Idk, maybe it would help if the main winners showed up! Hey stars, #getoveryourself!

50 Shades of Pop Culture!

Aloha Junkies!

Long time, no time! Today's my first day of summer vacay with nothing else on my schedule except blogging-- yeay! I have been meaning to blog about our favorite pop culture phenomenon for the past few months, but, alas, life has a funny way of keeping me so busy I don't even own cable anymore because I have no time to just sit and watch television. Blasphemy, I know, espesh since True Blood starts in one week! Thankfully, I have a few close friends who are willing to let me watch and drool at their houses. More on TB laters, baby.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed our fav yittle 50 Shades blowing up in mainstream pop culture for the past few months. I feel just like Courtney when I say, I am so proud of E. L. James, or as I still refer to her, Icy. She followed her writing dreams, has made a name for herself in international publishing, and is still the down-to-earth mama that she was before her life changed 180 degrees. Icy, keep doin' you, cuz haters gonna hate no matter what.

I totes understand why all sorts of peeps are either loving or hating on 50 Shades: they are jeally! Everyone from Gilbert Gottfried to Barack Obama (don't play coy, Mr. President) have at least HEARD of the story, if not read it. 50 Shades is beyond wildly popular, IMHO, but how do you know I'm not just drinking the kool-aid? Not only has every social medium blown up with all things 50, but now, peeps are going beyond just enjoying the actual story, and making up their own version (check out Twitter's latest: #50shadesofbay.)

Sound familiar? Yeah, I think the whole Twilight/ 50 comparison stops here, cuz I am pretty sure we covered that long ago; I also hate that term "mommy porn," cuz, um, it ain't your momma's porn, that's for shizzy! This is how you KNOW 50 Shades has made a lasting impression on pop culture, where everyday couples, comedians, and journalists alike are all clamoring to include their versions in television, radio, and of course, the interwebs. I say this with the utmost respect to the literary world when I say, if you don't think this trilogy is worthy of its New York Times Best Seller status, you're 50 shades of fcked up.

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ sends woman to hospital!!! WHAT??

This is not a joke, ladies. This is a true story about a woman who loves her some ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ so much that she tried to reenact some kinky fuckery at home with her husband -- and he literally ripped her in half! Well, not in half, but you know what I mean. The sex was so hard that HE RIPPED HER!! Ok, so said woman is actually my friend and I hope she doesn’t mind that I’m blogging about this for the world to read. (Because clearly the world reads my blog, duh…) I mean, the very first thing I said before “Are you ok?” was; “I’m totally blogging about this on Pop Culture Junkie! BWAHAHAHAHAHAH….. Oops….are you ok?”

So in this scenario I’m thinking my friend is the DOM and her husband is the SUB and she makes him spank her and say things like, “Laters, baby.” So he was just gitty with excitement as he is totally relishing this window of time where he actually gets sex while she’s reading these books. In fact, she tells me he hangs around in the room when she’s washing her face at night and casually asks her if she’ll be reading her book tonight! He even texted me thanking me for the book recommendation! I’m happy to help, really.

So, back to the story at hand… You know, details, details, details….BAM - RIP! OWWWWWWWCH! OMG YOU JUST KILLED MY SEX (Ana’s word for vag); I have to get to the E.R. STAT! (I’m paraphrasing here, I wasn’t actually there). She called me as she sped down the highway telling me all about her sexcapades that sent her to the ER. An hour later I received a text saying: “FOUR STITCHES!” Omg, I cried a little bit…laughing.

This is serious, ladies. You should be very careful when you’re forcing your fantasies on your husband and telling him to do difficult things like do you as good as Christian does Ana. It’s not really real life. I mean, real men just cannot compete with Fifty, so don’t break yourself trying, whatever you do. Consider yourself warned! And if you know of anyone who has broken their husband’s wang picturing Mr. Grey in action, please email me.

Anyway, I thought this would be a good time to share some hilarious someecards that have been popping up all over the place since 'Fifty Shades of Grey' become a household name. Enjoy…

I wish I could say I loved Robert Pattinson’s latest film “Bel Ami” but…

I was beginning to think Robert Pattinson’s period flick “Bel Ami” was never going to see the light of day in a dark cinema. I mean, didn’t he film it like 2 years ago and it just never could seem to get a release date in theaters? That told me that maybe the movie was a stinker. But being the RPattz fan that I am I was really hoping it would eventually make its way straight to DVD at least! So I was totally stoked on Saturday night when my husband and I were flipping through the new movies channel and we saw “Bel Ami” on the menu. BEL AMI! Yay! Sure, I’d have to pay $9.99 to watch it but when it comes to spending my husband’s money, money is no option. :)

Then I started watching it and minute by minute my enthusiasm started to wane. Oh damn it. I remembered immediately when the first scene appeared why I probably wouldn’t care for this movie. You see…

1) I actually don’t like period flicks - they’re totally boring.

2) I find thick British accents hard to understand when the actors talk too fast.

So unfortunately Bel Ami had two strikes against it before it even got started. So as period flicks go for me, I was almost immediately bored and really straining to pay attention so I could follow along with what’s going on. And I don’t think I ever had a full grasp on why things were happening throughout the entire movie. To summarize the movie I’m borrowing IMDb’s description:

“A chronicle of a young man's rise to power in Paris via his manipulation of the city's most influential and wealthy women.”

Essentially RPattz plays a lothario in a period pic where he has lotsa sex. ‘Nuff said.

Let’s talk about the only reason I watched this movie: Robert Pattinson. I had a feeling I wouldn’t be fainting from lust overload while watching the film because I’d seen pics of the movie while it was being made and I don’t care who you are, tweed trousers pulled up to your armpits is nowhere near hot. Then there’s the important issue of RPattz’s hair. I’ve always been very vocal about dude’s hair. It has to be like pompadour Edward hair for me to find him ultra schmexy. So this long, greasy parted down the middle mop he was wearing was swiftly curing me of my 3-year RPattz addiction. That’s so not fair, I’m still trying to picture Rob in my head while I’m reading Fifty Shades of Grey, this was so distracting!!

In fact, if you can believe it, in the naked butt scene where Rob’s character Georges was pounding a prostitute from behind I only rewound it once. ONCE. Do you know how many times I rewound a simple kissing scene in Twilight? Like 369 times!! In fact, we saw his bare arse not once but twice in the movie! This made me think maybe Rob wouldn’t shy away from playing Fifty after all.

That being said; I hate to say it but I totally think he was “over acting” the whole time. I never got lost in his character. I know, I know, you hate me. But ya, I’m leery about him playing Fifty because I really want a super amaze balls actor to play that part and even though Rob’s head is on my Fifty’s body, I don’t think he should play Fifty. *ducks from air born tomatoes and cabbage*

Have you seen Bel Ami yet? What did you think? I know a lot of you out there are major softies for RPattz and negative criticism of anything he does is unthinkable, but hey, I’m just keepin’ it realz! Here’s to hoping Rob’s next flick “Cosmopolis” turns things around for me….

Random bits of RPATTZ!

Hi girls, Colleen here! It's been a while since my last post. Let's catch up...

Soooooo, I went to the Coachella Music Festival a couple weeks back and I camped in a tent for the first time since girl scouts. The above pic was our camp site. I knew and expected celebreties, but honestly - once we got there - it didn't matter. It was all about the bands and music and I have to honestly say, it was, hands down, the coolest thing I have ever done in my life - EVAH! We were there weekend 1, and these two in the picture to the left showed up weekend 2 (I know it's a small pic, but it's Robsten). Would I have noticed them in this mass of dancing humanity? Probably not....and we were definitely dancin!

I'm going to disagree with Courtney on "Bel Ami"...

This morning I rented and watched BelAmi with our boy Robert Pattinson (it's on a special PPV for selected networks for a limited time). My first noteworthy comments -> there were three clear fanny shots! Lots of sex for his character, George Duroy - who is an SOB. It is beautifully set in Paris in 1890. Uma Thurman is stand-out, but Rob carries his weight in the film very well. I really need to see it again, pay closer attention, you know - follow the plot, instead of slowing down for each (numerous) sex scene with pumping ass in view. I have to say, he does the wardobe justice! So now we wait for Cosmopolis - premiering at Cannes this week. With each new film - he's better, has more of a presence, he's less awkward, and more mature. Hey, he just turned 26! *sigh*

I enjoyed Pop Culture Junkie's latest podcast discussing "Fifty Shades" and as Courtney knows, I am going to need A LOT of convincing, combined with a lot of alcohol to believe ANYONE can be our beloved bad-boy Christian Grey. I am so annoyed with mainstream "Fifty" I could gag - it's on sale at Safeway??!! Who else has had random people asking you: "Have heard of a book called "Fifty Shades'??" AHHHHHHHH!

Is reading ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ in public embarrassing??

As more and more people become aware of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, I’m starting to get increasingly self-conscious as I read it in public. At first when I pulled out my book on the train or at the gym I felt a sense of awesomeness when ladies would repeatedly glance at the cover. Clearly they were jealies that I had the paperback at a time when it was nearly impossible to find in a store or online. Fast forward a few weeks and it’s not just women that are sizing up my book cover… now men are noticing what I’m reading too. And now things are starting to get, well, weird.

At the gym the other day I was reading Fifty on the stationary bike when the middle aged man next to me motioned towards my book like he had a question for me. Uh oh… what is this about? When I pulled my music ear buds out, he says; “I saw a write up about that book in the New York Times. What’s it about?”

UM…..UM…….let’s see….how do I answer this question……?

“It’s a love story!” I say.

The man is clearly baiting me to see how I’ll respond, so then he says; “Ya, but isn’t it like soft core porn or something?”

WHAT! Omigawd, omigawd. I am so not having this conversation with an old freagin’ man my dad’s age!! Gross!

“Wellllll…it’s definitely a unique love story….” I say, awkwardly chuckling, trying to thwart his interest. But dude was relentless! He pushed further…“Is it like, really graphic?”

I can’t remember what he said next as he attempted to drag the words sex and BDSM and silver balls out of me. I’m pretty sure I was getting light headed due to mortification. He continues on; “It’s interesting that suburban wives are reading about this stuff.”

I got all defensive rattling off; “It’s not just suburban wives, it’s moms, it’s single girls in their twenties, it’s 80 year old ladies…it’s women from every socioeconomic background!” I literally don’t think I’ve ever used the word “socioeconomic” in a sentence before. LOL!

He told me his wife just bought the book and he wanted to know what it was about. I’m thinking; well ask her what it’s about, perv! Obvy he just wanted to watch me squirm.

But the worst is yet to come…

My husband eventually walks over to tell me something and Curious George next to me flags Jeff down and says; “I’m just talkin’ to your wife over here and I’m curious what you think of that book she’s reading.”

GOOD GRIEF, MAN! Jeff’s response was the final blow to any shred of dignity I had left…

“Oh, it’s awesome. It’s how we conceived our first child!” He literally sings this statement over the intercom as he strolls off -- he was that loud. I fainted on the handle bars as the creepy daddy next to me literally dies laughing and says “That’s it, I’m definitely reading it.”

Ay yi yi!

Now I’m acutely aware of the fact that a good percentage of people around me know about my dirty little secret. At this point, I might as well be reading a book with Fabio on the cover, it’s that obvious. My question is; am I in the cool kids club for reading Fifty Shades of Grey, or am I advertising to the world that I read soft core porn in public places? I’m not so sure at the moment!

Because I really NEED it! I hope this new look of his is for a movie and that he'll get back in shape once wrapping is done. Because if this is not for a movie, and it's just Rob when he 'ain't working, and getting older -- then we've got a problem here!

We all know Rob doesn't really care about his appearance (one of the reasons we fell in love with him) but this is NOT good! We all remember what Brendan Fraser use too look like in "The MUMMY"...Google him now. NOT good ladies....not good.

I think Robert Pattinson would be perfect for the role of 'Fifty Shades'. That's who we'll all picture, anyway. After some of the roles he's taken I think he has more than proved he could handle it.
