Rock of Dunamase son unas ruinas de un castillo normando que se encuentran en Portlaoise. En tiempos antiguos habia sido un asentamiento celta, hasta que los celtas "conocieron" a los vikingos.&lt;br /&gt;
Se encuentra en un lugar estrategico ya que el castillo fue construido en la cima de monte, que tiene llanura en 3 de las 4 direcciones.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Costo: 15 euros (tren Interrail, promocion ida y vuelta de fin de semana). El lugar es gratis y de libre acceso.&lt;br /&gt;
Como llegar: Tomar el tren a Portlaoise desde Heuston. El viaje dura entre 45 minutos y 1 hora. En Portlaoise, ir a la oficina de turismo, que queda en el centro comercial, para recoger un mapa. Luego caminar 7 kilometros hacia el este. Las ruinas se van desde la ruta. &lt;br /&gt;
Dificultad: media. Queda a 7km de la ciudad y no hay transporte público, por lo que se debe ir caminando.&lt;br /&gt;

Es bastante raro beber sidra de una lata y sin que sea las fiestas de fin de año. No obstante, lo he hecho y estaba rica. &lt;br /&gt;

Se puede llegar con el tren que sale de Heuston station. Hay algunos horarios donde hay una van/furgoneta gratuita desde la estación de tren hasta el shopping.&lt;br /&gt;
