Birthday Blessings

The big idea of the story of Elizabeth is that God has given us the ability to bless one another. One way we bless each other is by paying attention to what folks enjoy and love. This story is a special way I was able to bless my daughter on her birthday. It is inspired by one of my favorite heroes of the Faith–Elizabeth.

The video was shot at one of our favorite restaurants in Kansas City, a creperie in the Westside North area called Chez Elle. It looked like we would have a quiet shoot when a street cleaning machine showed up. Well, what you see is what you get in this video. I hope you enjoy the talk.

Make yourself comfortable. I love to tell and to listen to stories. I hope to use this site to tell many stories that will encourage, uplift and inspire you. Come back often, and stay as long as you like.

Where I grew up, the front porch was the place to tell stories and to connect with family, friends, and neighbors. There are not as many porches as there used to be, but we all still long for stories and connection. I hope you think of this weblog as a kind of porch where you are welcome anytime, and where you know you will find the ear of a friend who offers encouragement, laughter, tears, and hugs.
