I’m really excited about this piece. What I’m doing is consolidating all of my favorite Twitter Tips and Tricks into one blog post. I’ll probably add to this over time as Twitter evolves and new tricks are created.

CW: There’s some female nudity in this piece while I’m explaining the Specialty Images Layouts and using active pieces of copy we’ve posted.

I’m writing this as a reference guide so it reads straight through or you can click a link below and go to just that specific section!

Fair warning… it’s a lot of content. So get ready and let’s get into it!

Twitter Image/Video Optimization

I created this graphic last year to be a definitive cheat sheet for sizing images and videos on the Twitter feed, Profile Avi’s, and Profile Headers. Even with this being from 2019, it still works in 2020. Enjoy!

So, that’s the recommend sizing. Realistically, it’s more about the aspect ratios as opposed to the actual image/video sizes. For instance, both 1200×695 and 1920×1080 (Also known as 1080p) are both 16:9 aspect ratios, so both will appear at the optimal size on the feed. By optimal size, I mean that the image can be seen completely on the feed without needing to tap it to open it.

Now, the above is specifically for images, but optimized video on Twitter is 1920×1080 or 16:9.

Let me recap all the sizes below:

• Header Image
  • Aspect Ratio: 3:1
  • Recommend Size: 1500×500
• Profile Avatar Image
  • Aspect Ratio: 1:1
  • Recommended Size 400×400
• Feed Image:
  • Aspect Ratio: 16:9
  • Recommended size 1200×695 or 1920×1080
  • You can have much higher resolutions, but the aspect ratio is the most important part of this.

Now there’s also three things I want to point out on the above cheat sheet.

1). When you share a link URL on Twitter, you’ll notice the image resizes with a border around it, shows an image from the link, and some text underneath. This is called a “Twitter Card.” The Twitter card has a slightly different size than the standard and constrains to a 2:1 aspect ratio.

2). As you see in the top image, there’s a horizontal line across the top and a vertical line along the left side. That’s not a design choice, I did that to intentionally show the Twitter curve. See a normal image has right angles on the corners, but Twitter rounds those out. The round is located near where those lines intersect!

3). Lastly, depending on what device a user views your profile from, you’ll notice subtle changes to the size and position of the profile avi. If you’re making a custom header, be aware of these differences, otherwise you may block important information on the header itself.

Content File Sizes and Types

Quick section! Below are the file size and type limitations of Twitter:

Photos

• Photos can be up to 5MB
• Twitter accepts GIF, JPEG, and PNG files.
• Twitter does not accept BMP, TIFF or other file formats.
• Your photo will be automatically scaled for display in your expanded Tweet and in your gallery. (See previous section on optimization).

Animated GIFs

• Animated GIFs can be up to 5MB when posting from mobile, and up to 15MB when posting on web.

Videos

• Videos must be 2 minutes and 20 seconds or less.
• The minimum resolution for Twitter videos is 32×32 and the maximum resolution is 1920×1200 or 1200×1900. Again optimal sizes are within a 16:9 aspect ratio.
• Supported formats are MP4 and MOV on the Twitter mobile apps and, on the web, MP4 with H264 format with AAC audio.
• The maximum file size is 512MB.

Specialty Image Layouts

Now that you have the standard sizes down pact, let’s have some fun and create what I call the Twitter 2-pic, 3-pic, and 4-pic layouts!

These arrangements of images are used when you add multiple images to a single tweet. Each image will have a different size and aspect ratio depending on the use of it. You’ll need photo editor like Photoshop or Canva to create these layouts and resize them properly

Let’s start with the easiest one in the list; the 4-pic.

4-Pic

The 4-pic follows the exact same rules as the original single image from the last section. Each of the 4 images in this arrangement are 16:9 aspect ratios arranged in the selected pattern. Simply optimize each image as your normally would and line them up.

Once you know this size, you can do something fun, like this!

This 4-pic layout allows all 4 images to create 1 single image. It’s a pretty eye-catching layout and we use it periodically to stop users from scrolling past since it’s so different. To do this, remember the total aspect ratio is 16:9, and each image is around 1920×1080, therefore the 4-pic size is still 16:9, but the total combined size is 3840×2160 (also known as 4K resolution).

2-Pic

We’ll come back to the 3-Pic in a bit and go to the next easiest one; the 2-Pic. Shout out to Rin, or @awoozyyouth, for this one!

The 2-Pic is a completely different size to the normal Twitter optimal sizes. With each image at 1400×1600, or 7:8, it makes the images more vertical than horizontal. This still allows you to layout your images side by side to create 1 cohesive image like this!

To do this, you’re looking at 2800×1600, or 7:4, as the total image size.

3-Pic

Lastly, we have the 3 pic. This one is a little trickier, but still really simple overall. It has a featured image of 1400×1600 on the left and 2 1920×1080 images stacked on the right. Again, you can still do a cohesive layout, it just requires some additional thought. So you have 1400×1600 (7:8) on the left and 1920×2160 (8:9) on the right. I don’t recommend trying to jam a single image into these aspect ratio, but rather do a featured image and a stacked image.

Third-Party Apps and Tips

Next up, I want to talk about third party applications to aid in the content creation pipeline. There’s a myriad of applications out there that you can attach to your Twitter handle. Schedulers, follower managers, site-sharing, etc. For sake of time, let’s cover a few of the one’s Quinn and I use to manage @Bubbl3AndSqueak! Hootsuite

I’ve raved about Hootsuite before and it’s probably my favorite application. It’s a social media scheduler that allows you to manage your entire social media effort from 1 dashboard. In vanilla marketing projects, I have each brand laid out so I can effectively manage all 8+ brands I work with just in Hootsuite alone.

Unfollow for Twitter

Ever have someone follow-bait you? It’s when someone follows you, knowing the likelihood of Twitter users following someone back, then once you’ve followed them back they unfollow you. It’s annoying as hell and can skew your credibility and reach due to “ghost follows.”

These accounts are simple stacking followers to either a). resell the account or b). build-up their own follower counts albeit unethically. Personally, I don’t associate with people like that and use a tool to out them. It’s an iOS application called Unfollow for Twitter. Basically, it scans my followers list when I tell it to and shows me who has recently unfollowed me to do the same to them. It’s a little petty sounding, but protecting your algorithmic reach should be priority 1 on Twitter and these dead followers are a waste of space. Remember, you should always maintain a ratio of at least 1:1 (following/followers) to have a decent reach. Over time you can expand this to 1:2, 1:3, etc. These dead followers make that more difficult to maintain, especially early on.

Note: The last time I discussed this app a follower mentioned that they don’t use this type of app due to the fear of “shadowbanning.” So I’ll state my opinion on that quickly. Until someone is able to show me definitive proof that this Twitter-Approved application does have a correlation AND causation on the engagement algorithm I’m going to keep using it.

Canva, ImgPlay, and Photoshop Express

Now, I know these three aren’t technically “Twitter Apps,” but I’m including them, because these are all apps I believe every SWer out there should know about. For purposes of this post, each one has specific options to resize content for the specific social network you’re using. Canva can automatically resize content for almost every social platform and other printable materials. Photoshop Express can do the same. ImgPlay is a .gif creator, with a feature that specifically reduces the file size of a .gif to post to Twitter.

Resharing Content

To RT or not to RT, that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind’s eye to create new copy or reshare existing copy… Can you tell I’m having fun getting back to writing?

So it’s 100% socially acceptable to RT your own content on Twitter. There’s several advantages to doing this.

Time Zone Bumping

There’s millions of users and the liklihood of many of your followers missing your content is fairly high. RTing your own content at different times of day will give you a better opportunity of reaching them. Especially if you’re like us and have a pretty noticeable audience from across the globe. For instance, we get most traffic from the USA, but we have a strong presence in UK buyers too, so we RT our own content during peak UK times to better reach this audience.

Home Feed Resets

If you’re in RT groups you may be worried that your own content is getting drowned out by all the other content you’re RTing. Well, after you run through your RTs in your groups, hit a couple of your own posts to reset them to the top of your feed. This way, when a user clicks through to your page they readily see your content instead of your peers.

Further Boosting Engaging Copy

Lastly, when you RT your own content you’re giving it a little extra push back into the audience to simply further your general reach on specific content. If you have a post that’s been doing fairly well, RT it and see how much further you can send it. Maybe it under performed and just needs an extra push to get it out there.

Words of Warning

So it’s 100% acceptable, but that doesn’t mean it should be a regular event in your pipeline. Use a self-RT sporadically and strategically. If your audience consistently sees the same copy over and over again, you risk causing what’s referred to as “ad-blindness” or “banner-blindness,” the phenomenon in which consumers become subconsciously “blind” to banner-style message. Something I cover more in-depth in Breaking the Ban, when I talk about the REAL problem behind the “shadowban.”

At the end of the day new content is ALWAYS better than resharing old content, by far. Use this sparingly and strategically. Focus on making new content as regularly as possible.

The Dreaded Algorithm

I wanted to include this section in this post because there are so many rumors surrounding Twitter, and their rules and “shadowbanning.”

Now, I’ve said in previous posts that I don’t believe in the “shadowban,” because I don’t believe we should use politically charged buzzwords, specifically designed to instigate fear, in a business space. For times sake, quick recap.

Twitter uses an engagement algorithm (like virtually every other social media platform) to populate the feed. You can actually shut off the Twitter algorithm by switching from Top Tweets to Chronological.

All the algorithm does is affect how a user receives content. For instance, let’s say Johnny enjoys professional wrestling. He goes on twitter, follows the WWE and a handful of wrestlers. As he uses the platform more Twitter picks up on this trend and will start showing him more content around that topic.

Same thing will happen in Sex Work too. If Johnny engages with specific sex workers on a regular basis he is more likely to see their posts whenever he logs in.

This is why to have good algorithmic reach YOU have to focus on creating engaging content. Ask questions, run polls/contests, respond to EVERY comment you get, etc.

If you only post yourself and think that’ll be enough you’ll be really stressed when your reach plateaus and then starts to drop. Keep things consistent.

Don’t be afraid of the algorithm. If you understand the fundamentals of it, you will have success using it! For more in-depth info on the algorithm, check out my post “Breaking the Ban,” here!

Protecting Your Account

Good topic here. Let’s talk about protecting your account from a real ban or suspension.

It’s pretty simple. There’s things you HAVE to do and things I recommend you SHOULD do as well. Let’s start with the “have to’s.”

You HAVE TO mark your tweets as containing sensitive content. If you’re in an adult community this is just something you have to make happen. What this does is create an age-gate on your image/video/link posts that removes liability from Twitter. It’s how they’re able to maintain a platform with adult content and prevent minors from seeing adult subject matter, but more important, protects Twitter’s liability from minors using the platform in ways they shouldn’t.

You HAVE TO keep your avi and header safe for work. I’m not even talking about nudity here. As Twitter puts it, you can’t have anything “intended to cause sexual arousal.” Yes, I know that’s vague and with fetishes and fantasies surrounding virtually everything this one may be tricky. I encourage you to use this litmus test! Twitter’s youngest users are 14 years old… so would you willingly show your avi or header to a 14 year old? If the answer is no, change it! See the avi and header sit in front of the sensitive content filters, therefore minors can see them regardless of how their settings are set up. Avoid the bans and keep it clean in front of the age gates.

You HAVE TO avoid violating TOS. That’s kind of a big aspect of this. For instance, there is a rather extensive “targeted harassment” set of rules you should know and observe. Things like subtweeting (.@ mentioning, RT w/ comment, etc.) and consistently targeting someone with tweets, comments, or DMs they do not wish to be apart of is against the TOS. Porn is still acceptable on Twitter, but specific things (e.g. violent sex) are not allowed. That’s why it’s so imperative that you educate yourself on the Twitter Rules and TOS. You’ll find the entire list here!

Oh.. and Stop. Fucking. Doxxing. All of it, including the “exposed sub” posts. Regardless of whatever kink it’s associated with or if you’re purposefully doing it to hurt someone, exposing someone’s personal information online is highly illegal and incredibly dangerous. Stop risking your handle and an entire platform for Sex Workers, when it’s vanilla people who are monitoring Twitter Reports. They won’t care if it’s a kink or fetish.

Now onto my other recommendations!

You SHOULD avoid feeding the trolls. A little easier said than done. A troll’s sole purpose is to ruffle feathers and purposefully be offensive. One of the biggest things I recommend is to never engage with them; block them and move on. While sometimes they may boil your blood, engaging with them provides them with more ammo and the ability to come back swinging. It’s a never ending cycle. Seriously, just block and move on.

You SHOULD diversify your content. There’s this little rule in the TOS about if you violate the TOS AND your account is dedicated to adult content, you’ll be permanently suspended. Now if you abide by TOS there’s really no risk here, but I recommend posting some clean or personal content that prevents your feed from being 100% adult content. In fact, this can also boost the connection you make with buyers by giving them a look at the person behind the content!

You SHOULD avoid content that is controversial; e.g. religion, politics, etc. Remember, this is a recommendation, not a “must do.” Ask yourself a simple question, “why do my buyers come to me?” Controversial topics risk what’s referred to as market segmentation. While sometimes it’s intentional (e.g. targeting two target markets at the same time), unplanned market segmentation can immediately diminish your income.

You SHOULD secure your account with a phone number, email, and two-way authentication. I know there’s a lot of fear about connecting phone numbers and emails to Twitter accounts, but if you’re ever suspended or lose access to your account, it’s the quickest way to verify identity and restore your account. Same thing with two-way authentication. It may be a hassle to have to input a second code generated by a third-party app or text, but if someone ever gets your password it’s the final barrier to prevent them from getting into your account.

Content Writing for Twitter

Still with me? We’re almost done. Just 2 sections left!

Content Writing, or as we call it in the marketing world, Copywriting, is the act of developing content for marketing efforts. There’s a lot to cover here, but I’m going to hit the highlights.

I did a video post on this on MVLive a while back in which I took some weak copy, or as I call it “sloppy copy,” and cleaned it up. Check that out here.

See words have a huge impact on the perceptions of your buyers and remember, in content marketing, perception = reality for your buyers. If you aren’t communicating effectively with your audience you’ll feel like no one is listening to you and people are purposefully ignoring you.

Here’s the things: You’d be 100% correct too. When you learn how to write effective copy you can easily convert sales. Here’s a couple tips specifically to copywriting on Twitter:

Active Word Choice

Focus on using an active voice in your writing and avoid passive tones whenever possible. Active word choice evokes emotion and tells a story, passive word choice just says something happened or is happening. The main difference is sentence structure.

Let me give a straight forward example:

Passive: Billy was pegged by a 12″ strap-on worn by Jane.
Active: Jane pegged Billy with a 12″ strap-on.

In passive copy, the receiver of the action is before the verb, then followed by the one performing the action. Whereas in active copy, the person performing the action is before the action and the receiver.

Going along with this, avoid filler words and focus on emotionally evoking words. Like the word “very,” it’s a pointless filler word. In, one of my favorite movies, Dead Poet’s Society, Robin Williams explains it best:

“So avoid using the word ‘very’ because it’s lazy. A man is not very tired, he is exhausted. Don’t use very sad, use morose.”

KISS It

Keep. It. Simple. Stupid.

You may have heard this acronym before, but when you’re writing marketing copy, you have to KISS it. Keeping things simple and short is one of the most effective approaches to copywriting. In fact, it’s important to note, that even with 280 characters available, tweets around 100 characters perform better!

Keep things short and direct and you’ll see your copy reach more people.

Tailor Towards Your Audience

One of the hardest things to teach new copywriters is stepping in and out of different voices. When you have a target audience in mind you must learn how to adapt to their style of communication and then apply that style to your own copy.

This takes a lot of practice, but your writing needs to resonate with your audience. To do this your words need to provide consistency and evoke emotional response from your audience.

Don’t just sell content, you’re not a retail store. You’re a brand requiring emotional connections with your audience to sustain the brand/buyer relationship and grow it further. You can do this by effectively communicating with your audience on their levels.

Stay On-Brand

Last bit on copywriting. Once you’ve developed a proper brand, pulling away from your brand’s rules of engagement will instantly destroy what you’re trying to create. Again, perception is reality for your buyers and you should always appeal to a buyer’s self-interests, never their gratitude.

I see this constantly. A SWer starts to lose sales due to something unpredictable like market fluctuation or lack of new content and they take to Twitter to complain about their lack of sales.

Now, to a buyer, this is often perceived as “no one else is buying their content so it must not be that valuable.” Now, whether or not that is true, it doesn’t matter.

Once you shatter the perception of a brand you’ve lost your target audience. As you grow, it’s imperative to stay on brand at every step of the way.

General Twitter Advice

Alright, that’s it for the main tips, but let’s just chat about some general advice regarding the Twitter platform.

It’s a SOCIAL Network, Not a Marketing Platform

Twitter is the platform of “what’s happening.” It’s their slogan, their creed, and their mission. It was developed as a rapid social network that quickly connects people based on combined interests. It was NOT developed for you to sell content on.

You CAN have great success using it to market content, but, just like the SAW movie series, there are rules to play by and if you break them, you won’t survive the game. At the end of the day, you have to use social media to be a social person. Once you’ve done so, your content posts will go much further than before.

I follow a 5, 2, 1 approach. Before I drop a post about our content, I have to RT 5 posts and comment on 2. This allows me to be social while also pushing content. It’s difficult to maintain this formula, but if you can you’ll notice your organic reach start to grow on your own content posts.

Test Peak Times

Now the average peak time on Twitter is around 1pm EST (UTC-5:00). It’s when the platform is most active. That’s an ideal scenario though. It varies on every single brand so make sure you test for your personal peak times.

Release content at various times throughout the day and see what content performs best regularly. In doing so you’ll understand your audience’s schedule better and release content that they will be more likely to see.

Hashtags

Think of a hashtag like a database of similar content. When you use a hashtag on Twitter you can add your tweets to that database and other users can find it by searching that hashtag.

It’s a fairly effective tool, but Twitter has limited the acceptable use of hashtags to around 2-3. Personally I’ll never do more than 2. If you use too many your account may be seen as spam and your reach will plummet.

Twitter Etiquette Is a Real Thing

Twitter is a unique platform. It’s one of the quickest ways to engage with people outside your immediate, personal network. Therefore there’s an unspoken etiquette on the platform that new people are never taught. When you’ve been on Twitter for like 10+ years, like me, you know the etiquette like the back of your hand. Here’s a few things to remember.

• Never promote yourself on someone else’s content without permission or being asked to. It’s just a real dick move.
• While Twitter allows you to add people to Lists, ask them for permission first before doing it.
• Same thing with adding someone to a group DM. Ask them first.
• Unsolicited advice is generally a bad idea. If someone is publicly struggling with something, don’t steam roll them with advice. Ask if they’re open to advice first.

Pettiness is Pointless

You should never waste your time sinking to someone else’s level, it already means they’re beneath you. This goes back to feeding the trolls. Always remember, you don’t have to engage with anyone you don’t want to. It’s always better to quietly block/ignore someone and report them to Twitter than to publicly engage against them.

The reporting process isn’t flawless by a mile and the more you go on the offensive the more you open yourself up to risk. I, personally, am always more focused on growing my brands and earning revenue than to deal with pettiness.

Have Fun!

Last bit. Have some fun on Twitter. Don’t take it too seriously. Don’t overthink it. Just tweet and showcase your brand’s personality and content. Twitter is supposed to be a fun, social place and the more you play into that design the more success you will have!

I completely understand that. Marketing and sales kind of go hand in hand in the business world. In fact, one of my biggest issues of the vanilla world is how a lot of businesses use job titles like “Marketing Representative” or “Marketing Account Manager” to mask a sales position to generate more interest in it.

So I’ve been doing digital marketing for 10+ years, but during that time I’ve also done my fair share of direct sales/sales training as well! In fact, one of my first jobs out of college was door to door sales, then Erectile Dysfunction Medication, followed by investment sales in Oil/Gas, Medical Devices, and Mining (Precious Metal Investments). I’ve been doing cutthroat sales for about ~7 years alongside my marketing efforts. Sales is in my blood and I really am excited about getting to talk sales!

One of my duties in the vanilla job I have is to train our sales team and manage their success. So I’m going to pretend that you’re all new-hires and today is your first day! This is how I train EVERY sales rep I work with, no matter what shot they’re taking. This is usually a 4-hour session, but I’m going to consolidate it down to a 15-min read and 8-min video clip! Let’s do it!

No One Likes to Be Sold…

…But everyone NEEDS to be sold to. If you don’t remember anything else from this post. Remember that line. That was taught to me by my sales trainer about 7 years ago and it haunts me to this day.

No one likes to be sold, but everyone NEEDS to be sold to!

Even if you have content in a digital store like ManyVids or AP Clips, I do not believe you are a “store.” See a store requires things like product knowledge, price tags, etc. I believe you’re much more than that!

I believe Sex Workers sell an experience! That requires things like differentiation, effective branding, and adaptive sales approaches to meet buyers on their various levels!

Expecting someone to know product knowledge in a sea of competition is a a pretty futile pursuit, in my opinion.

How many times have you dealt with a sales rep? Maybe during your last car purchase? Maybe at a high-end/specialty clothing store? Maybe walking past a kiosk at your local mall?

As annoying as they may be, there’s a reason why they do it: it works.

See the average human being has things they like and things they don’t like in this world. Often, it’s incredibly difficult for anyone to step outside of their comfort zone and try or buy something new or different. That’s the whole reason why salespeople exist. They are the “experts” that convert people into buyers of their products.

I put “experts” in quotes, because at the end of the day, they aren’t really experts in their field, but rather they know enough experiential selling, product differentiation, and conversation skills to sell a product. Any product. Literally anything.

Note: I don’t consider telemarketing, “sales”. Telemarketing is scripted selling and sales should be a natural process! You can still do AMAZING phone sales without being a script reader!

A true seller is willing and ready to take any shot that comes across their plate. It’s more about a person’s attitude than their skill set.

Sales is actually the one of, if not the largest job market in the US, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, with about 14+ million sales people working in some type of sales capacity.

“A Guy Don’t Walk On the Lot Lest He Wants to Buy”

I love sales movies like Moneyball, Boiler Room, and The Goods: Live Hard Sell Hard. The above comes from the iconic sales movie, “Glengarry Glen Ross.” Alec Baldwin deliveries such an amazing monologue and performance to 3 failing sales reps in the real estate investment sales game.

Quick warning, there’s a LOT of aggressive and vulgar language in this including one homophobic slur. This movie was released in 1992 and while that was only 28 years ago, we have evolved so much as a society away from language like this.

I also will say that sales used to be a heavily male-dominated field, which has since started to balance out, so I know a lot of that messaging and imagery is tailored towards men. I just ask that you keep an open mind as you watch!

But here it is, the famous “Coffee is for Closers” monologue.

I request my sales-hires at my vanilla job to watch this entire movie. It’s actually (as silly as this sounds) the main reason I drive a Cadillac and give out Steak Knives as wedding/birthday presents! The cast is amazing; Al Pacino is also in this, but he’s conducting a sale during this monologue. Today we’re going to talk about the 2 things Blake (Baldwin) brings up in this speech. These are the two pillars of sales.

The ABCs of Sales

Always. Be. Closing. If you’ve ever had a sales job, I almost guarantee you’ve heard that line before. It’s often the first thing a new salesperson is taught.

But what does it mean?

Well, a conversation in the world of sales is less about talking/listening, but rather pushing towards the desired outcome; closing the sale. Virtually everything you do and say during the sales process should be aiming or redirecting back for the sale!

For instance, if someone comes into your DMs with a generic “hey” message and you don’t respond with a link to content or push for a sale, you’re leaving money on the table (another sales idiom which means walking away from opportunity).

I’m not saying every message will be a sale. There’s a qualifying process you should go through to determine if something is worth pursuing. I’ll be covering that in part 2!

Everything you do and say should be leading someone back to the desired outcome. You can’t discredit someone as a “timewaster” if you’re not going to take the effort to make a sale with them. If they ignore you completely then they become a timewaster, but until they have proven no interest in the sale they’re still fair game.

Develop your research skills, that’s the secret here. When we have a new fan or prospective sale, we head to their profile on Twitter and/or ManyVids and see what they’ve been buying and engaging with. Then we respond to the message and direct them to those specific items which most likely meet their standards and expectations.

As you approach your conversations in the future Always Be Closing every chance you get. Often I’ll go for a close 4-5 times before I completely ignore and ghost someone in our DMs. By that point, my likelihood of closing is <1% and my time is much more valuable.

AIDA

So back in the 90s, this meant exactly what Baldwin says in the monologue:

After the birth of the internet and digital sales, this changed to:
Attention (Attraction)
Interest
Desire
Action

It’s important to note why this has evolved. Consumers are typically smarter in the 21st century. Many of you are too young to know the world before the internet. Admittedly, I was really young when the technology boom hit, but I do remember both sides of the coin.

Research required going to the library. Price shopping required going from store to store with newspaper ads and negotiating between various vendors. This is why the majority of people over 30 years old, who actively buy porn, still expect a significant amount of interaction prior to making a sale. It was the peak of brand loyalty.

So let’s go through each topic here:

Attention

By approaching you through a post on Twitter or another platform you’ve gained someone’s attention already, but you have yet to harness their interest in your brand.

Attention is someone looking over at you. That’s it. They may be attracted to you, but they probably aren’t truly interested just yet. It’s up to you to cultivate that interest.

Interest

This is 100% up to you. To develop interest in a brand you must cultivate an expectation of your brand inside someone’s mind. That expectation is their interest in you. We have buyers that are only interested with Quinn because she’s a squirter, has this really bubbly personality, etc. Then we have fans interested in us because of our couple dynamic and real approach to this business. I also have my own fans as a solo male! Each one of these buyers gets a personalized experience specifically designed to cater to their fantasies and desires!

To develop someone’s interest in you, you MUST put in the work to make it happen. Otherwise you’re throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks.

There’s a reason people who study and understand consumer behaviors rise to the top in a business while those who simply release content plateau. Once you have someone’s true interest you can acquire their desire.

Desire

Again, this used to be “Decision,” but as the consumer has evolved this had to evolve too. Desire is taking an expectation and turning it into an experience that the prospect can’t live without.

That is the true secret to sales. Literally anyone can release content or product. It’s not hard at all. The difference between rising to the top of your industry and maintaining the status quo is your ability to gain someone’s desire for you and your brand directly.

This alone is why I ignore the (most) mass calls for blocks for “timewasters” on Twitter. What you consider to be a timewaster may eventually become one of my buyers and I’ve had significant success in cultivating a desire in many of these people. Ultimately, it requires you to understand how to convert a buyer.

Action

Have a direct path to conversion and directly lead your buyers there. If you expect people to convert themselves you’re going to miss out on a lot of business!

Let me explain. We’re looking at porn and there is literally millions of videos available and a lot of them are “free” or “unverified.” If you cannot demonstrate why a person should pull out their wallet and buy from you with branding and sales efforts, you can’t be disappointed when they don’t purchase from you.

This is getting pretty long so I think I’m going to pause here and work on the part 2 for this. During the next part we’ll talk about some more aggressive sales tactics like FUGI (Fear of Loss, Sense of Urgency, Greed, and Indifference). We’ll also discuss qualifying prospects and recognizing buying signals and phrases that you need to understand in order to go for conversion (e.g. any time someone mentions money or costs directly, you better be prepared to convert directly).

Her consistency in messaging and branding is spot on. What’s more is she is successfully able to protect her fans from “banner blindness” (the subconscious response consumers have towards banner-style messaging) by constantly flowing in and out of several types of messaging.

Yes, she uses her fair share of banner ads on sites like Twitter, but you also can quickly notice that she separates it with additional messaging like one-off phrases or calls to action.

That alone is a staple of branding success; the ability to communicate with your audience on multiple levels!

Consistency

Another key aspect that draws consumers to her brand is her constant consistency both in imagery and messaging. Scroll through any page she has, whether ManyVids, Twitter, AP Clips, etc. and you’ll see the perfect consistency a brand needs to succeed.

A brand has to be consistent at every level. If you’re not, you risk dissuading your audience from buying, solely because you’ve shattered the identity of your brand.

Quality of Content

Lastly, and again I should mention I’m a fan of her work, is the quality of content she puts out every single day.

In Part 2, today, we’re going to cover 2 things:

1. How to preschedule video releases AND marketing content to simultaneously push at a specific time automatically.
2. How to standardized and automate initial fan and timewaster interactions to speed the process along.

Let’s start with video scheduling!

Why Schedule Releases?

So I know this might sound weird, but it’s counter-intuitive to release a piece of content as soon as it’s ready to go! Let me explain.

As soon as the content is released, you become limited in what you can do with it! If you hold your content until planned days you now have the ability to pre-market to generate additional buzz, position your social handles to push the content further, plan your word choice and imagery, etc.

Once something goes to market, it’s “released” from you in a sense. The biggest aspect of this is the price point.

Once something goes to market you can easily lower a price without your audience batting an eye, but if you try to raise a non-subscription price your audience will rebel.

Lastly, you schedule releases because sometimes you don’t want to deal with the rush of needing to push content. When you rush, the likelihood of making a mistake is significant. If you plan things and approach them methodically, you’ll have success.

Quinn and I schedule everything on our @Bubbl3AndSqueak brand. In fact, many times we’re scheduled out 3-4 weeks ahead of ourselves! This allows us to develop the peripheral content to create the most value we possibly can out of each release while maintaining minimal stress!

The Video Release Pipeline

So in order for this automation to work, you need an established pipeline. I’m going to share how Quinn and I approach every single video we release. We average 3-4 releases per week so having a plan in place makes the pipeline smooth! Oh, and the items in ‘blue’ are all the things we automate! Here we go!

Planning/Prep

Before we can shoot anything, we plan it our thoroughly. This includes any scripting, prop sourcing, lighting design, etc. we possibly need. Also, this includes hair/makeup/costumes as well.

Pre-Shoot and Shoot

Next for us is the actual shoot. During the shoot we try to snap several pieces of behind the scenes content for our MVCrush and/or other outlets for our fans. We also tweet and tell people we are shooting! This starts the pre-buzz process.

Post-Shoot First Look and Pre-Buzz

The first look is one of the most important. It’s a first baseline at who’s going to be interested in this specific piece of content. We generally schedule this to release the day after a shoot or even later that same day. We take note of which fans interact with the first look and then develop the rest of the campaign around those fan’s demographics and interests.

Post-Production and BTS Looks

While the video is being edited, we often keep scheduling content about or around the video release. These are things talking about how “hot” the new release is going to be or how doing a specific action in the video release was or felt as well!

Pre-Orders and Pre-Sales

On select releases, we offer pre-orders to our fans for small discounts of what the price points would be (10-25% off). They don’t receive the video until it goes live, but it’s an awesome way to make another touch with your fanbase before a release.

Release Day

Release day is a unique day, since the video releases at a specific time, we schedule a tweet to simultaneously be released at the same time too with a link to the content. We often will schedule a second tweet about the same content for a different demographic later. For instance, if the content is a blowjob facial our first post might be tailored to “cum-lovers” whereas our second post might be tailored to “deep throat fans.”

Content Touches 1-7

Quinn and I will market a piece of copy about 7 times before “putting it to bed,” it doesn’t get deleted or removed, but we know that after 7 looks our audience risks ad-blindness and we need to focus on new copy. Tweets 1-7 about a video release are all automated!

See all that blue up there? That’s all actions that we, generally speaking, pre-plan and schedule to release! In doing so we don’t have to stress about our content posts and instead can focus on engaging with fans and maintaining our affinity score in the Twitter Algorithm.

Scheduling Video Releases

I have never liked rushing copy to release. You sit there for minutes trying to think of the perfect 140-280 characters to share this content on and when creativity is rushed it often appears forced and lackluster.

When you schedule everything in advance, your business can start to run itself! So we’re going to do exactly that! First, we’re going to schedule a video release on ManyVids (This may work on other sites, but we’ll focus only on them right now).

When you go to upload a new video. Look for this in the settings!

That’s it! All you have to do is select the toggle switch and select a specific date/time. Note, ManyVids will actually use your respective time zone for this release. So this video is now going to release tomorrow, Dec. 11 at 10a (UTC-5:00)

Automating Video Promotion

So you have your video scheduled out, but let’s take it a step further and automate a promo tweet to drop simultaneously and automatically when the video goes live! (You can do this on any platform available in your content scheduler, but I’m focusing on Twitter for this)

To do this, we need to utilize a social media scheduler application; like Hootsuite or Crowdfire. I’m partial to Hootsuite and that’s what I’ll show you, but just know all of the schedulers will be able to do this!

Once you’ve scheduled a video on ManyVids and click save, you’re taken to the MV Content Manager (you can also find this from the menu; My MV > Content Manager).

Look at the top for the blue text of “Launched” and click the arrow next to it. Then clicked “Scheduled.” It’ll show you your upcoming releases, like this!

Here is where you can edit those releases if you need to! Just click the 3 Vertical Dots on the right to get that menu!

Wait a sec!? ‘Tweet’ is in that menu… But it’s not released yet! How could you tweet something unreleased?

Well, once you schedule a video release on ManyVids, a URL link is instantly generated as part of the process. That means that the video exists on their site, but they are not allowing anyone to access said video until the specific day/time. Let’s use this to our advantage!

Click on ‘Tweet.’ A new window will open on Twitter connected to your handle that looks like this.

Notice the URL in that tweet? That’s what we need! Go ahead and highlight/copy that link.

(Note: You can also access this URL if you click on ‘Edit‘ in the menu on ManyVids as well. I just personally enjoy doing it this way).

Remember, that’s a live URL link, but no one can access that webpage until the video goes live. If you accidentally send it out, no big deal, the link just redirects to the MV homepage.

Now, open your scheduler. I’m using Hootsuite.

Create a new post and schedule it to coincide with the day/time of your video release! Click on ‘Schedule.’

Now tomorrow (12/10) at 10am EDT (UTC-5:00) our video link will become active AND a promotional post will be sent from the handle notifying our fans of the new content! Now I can be at work, having a day off, whatever, and I know my new content is getting sent out without me having to bother with it.

When you automate this process you will save literally hours each week thinking of new tweets! What I like to do is schedule 5-7 tweets for each video that is about to release, before anyone even knows it’s coming! That way we just have to sit back and respond/direct our traffic instead of pushing our creativity, and stress, to its limit!

Isn’t automation fun! At the most, we’ve prescheduled an entire month of video releases and simultaneous tweets! It made this past November our most productive, efficient, and highest selling month yet!

Auto-Text Replacement

Quick shout out to the lovely @pine_katherine for this tip. She sent it to us about a year ago and we still use it daily!

Now, word of warning, you don’t want to use this with returning and regular buyers. Invest the time in these fans and the rewards will be greater!

You DO, however, want to use this for initial contacts.

What we’re going to do is reprogram the auto-correct text feature found on most mobile devices to speed up the qualifying and initial contact process to weed out a timewaster or cultivate a buyer! Let’s do it!

Standardize Your Initial Messaging

First order of business, you need to standardize some messaging to make this process work. You’ll be able to alter it after it’s set up, but this is the most time-consuming process of this tip.

Think of all the interactions you have daily and come up with a stock response. For instance:

Best part of the above? I wrote that response in 2 seconds by inputting a code word I have set up on my phone!

Let me show you how!

Automating Your Text

I have an iPhone X so I’m going to use this as a baseline, I’m sure Android and Google (and older/newer Apple) phones can do the same thing, but I don’t know the specifics.

I like to draft all of my messaging in the Notes App on iPhone. It makes things really accessible. You also want to draft it long form first. When you go to input it, your field of vision is pretty limited. Make sure to save your notes! Now, copy the text for the standardized message.

Open your ‘Settings‘ and find ‘General.’ Tap it.

Find and tap ‘Keyboard.’

Tap ‘Text Replacement‘

In the top right corner look for the ‘+‘ symbol.

In the ‘Phrase‘ input field, paste the desired standardized message you want to use and in the ‘Shortcut‘ field write a memorable code or sequence. Since this is about our MVCrush promo message 1 of 4, I have it labelled “MVC1.”

Now, go into ANY app, like Twitter or even ManyVids, on your mobile browser, that has a text box and type your code sequence.

If you enter the shortcut properly, the middle auto-replace option will revert to show the replacement you entered!

Tap the middle box, ‘Space,’ or ‘Enter/Return’ and the text will auto-populate in the field! Now you just have to hit send and it’s done!

Go to Settings > Smart Typing > Text Shortcuts > Add
This has been tested on Android Version 8.1.0.

No more thinking about how to respond to initial contacts! Automate it and save yourself some time/headaches!

I’ll say it again, do NOT do this will returning/existing fans, they will feel unimportant to you (unless that’s your brand), but this is how we respond to virtually every random and cold DM we get. 1-2 standardized messages, then, depending on their response, we either send them DND1 (Short for Do Not Distrub; a shortcut which explains how we’re no longer responding and why) or we actively step in and begin the real conversation to make a sale.

You never want to be fake when using automation like this, but if some asshole wants to waste your time, this minimizes how long you have to spend with them. Just quickly qualify them via standardized messaging and move on past them if they’re unqualified.

I love automation. It’s what keeps things innovative at a brand POV. When your mundane tasks are managed by technology you can invest your time more heavily into furthering your business!

Add in a personal life, maybe a family, and periods of inactivity due to things like self-care days or emergencies and Sex Work really starts to consume the entire clock!

So what can we do? Are we going to have to constantly be working 16+ hour days just to keep everything afloat?

Today we’re going to talk about automating the Sex Work marketing process using some tools, tricks, and workarounds Quinn and I have developed for @Bubbl3AndSqueak over the years!

What’s the Point

I know a lot of people find a method they enjoy using for their brands and businesses, but as the market evolves and changes many brands are unchangeable and they loose their relevancy as time goes on. Further, if you’re spending all your time maintaining your business instead of innovating, disrupting, and growing your business, you will plateau and feel unable to get ahead of where you currently are.

I’m a relatively lazy person. I’m also incredibly driven and have amazingly lofty goals! So rather then looking for ANY way to do a specific thing, I’ll often research the most timely or efficient!

The goal is to get through the boring, but extremely needed, tasks to get back to the things we love the most (interacting with fans, selling content, prospecting and qualifying new buyers, etc.).

Automation is often where I head to. I like when my technology works for me! Small, simple things can often save hours in total! It’s pretty insane how something as small as creating a logomark or pre-scheduling video releases can make you generally more productive and efficient!

So let’s get into it!

Watermarking

You may not think about this while you’re doing it, but watermarking content is a lengthy process when you realize that you add about 5-20 seconds each time you have to do this! I’m mainly going to focus on images, but just touch briefly on videos.

It takes me, on average, 5-7 minutes to edit 1 image in Adobe Photoshop and another 2-3 minutes in Lightroom for additional effects. So each image we do is about 7-10 minutes in total. A set of 10 images takes between 70-100 minutes (1-1.5 hours). We are currently working on a 120+ image photoset, it’s going to take a few hours. Now add 20 seconds to each image and you’ve added ~40 minutes of the process, just to watermark content! ANY time we can save from this process is time we can invest elsewhere to make more sales.

Videos are the same issue! When I stretch a watermark across a 10 minute video, I’m adding another layer of content to the video. This process increases my rendering time by ~10-15%. The more effects and details, the longer process it becomes! We recently did this Oni review video on a toy from mrhankystoys.com. The video is less then 15 minutes, but because of the amount of production I put into it, that <15 minute video took 2 hours to render and export. Just to render and export! I’m not even talking editing, just my PC working to produce a completed video to watch, before it exports. That’s 2 hours I’m unable to use my PC to do anything else as all the processing power goes into bouncing the video.

So how can we speed this up? What can we do to make this process, watermarking, move quicker? Well we can get our technology to work for us, starting with creating a standardized watermark!

Lettermark vs. Logomark

A lettermark is a logo when the business/brand name is still legible. It’s a bit different from a logomark, which is just an image that identifies a brand, but does not directly state it.

For instance, these are lettermarks:

Whereas these are logomarks:

Either one can be incredibly helpful in speeding up your process! Here is the lettermark that Quinn and I use with our @Bubbl3AndSqueak brand.

It’s simple, has our brand colors and some extra elements like bubbles and a “clean shine” to theme it to our brand. Now that I have this though, watermarking gets really easy! Now that we have either a logomark or lettermark, we can batch watermark!

Batching Watermarks in Photoshop

A lot of people, when they first use Photoshop, take each individual image and adjust a watermark for each one. There is, however, a much more efficient way you can get a watermark quickly applied to a set of images!

Photoshop Actions

One of the more advanced features in Photoshop is the ability to record a set of actions and instantly run them on one or multiple images. Whether you’re editing 10 images quickly or batching 100+ images, this action feature can save you tons of time!

What we’re going to do is record 2 actions in Photoshop and I’ll show you how to apply each one to the specific need.

Single Image Watermark

First up is the basic watermark action. I recommend doing this on an already edited image to save yourself some time and to make sure it looks good against your standard editing styles.

Creating the Action

To create a new action in Photoshop:

1. Start by heading to the ‘Window‘ tab, then select ‘Actions.’ A new pane will appear.

2. At the bottom of that select the Group Folder icon to create a “New Set.” Name this something appropriate (e.g. Watermark). Select ‘OK‘

3. Click the “New Action” icon (next to the Group Folder) and name it something appropriate (e.g. Watermark Single).

4. Click “Record.” Everything you now do will be recorded as a series and saved to this action.

5. Import your watermark (or create one via the text tools) and edit the size, location, and even the effects like opacity, drop shadow, etc.

6. Once done, select the ‘Stop’ icon, near the Group Folders in the Actions window pane.

Applying the Action

To apply the newly created action to an image:

1. Select the top layer of the project (even if it’s an adjustment layer). Click and highlight the ‘Watermark‘ (or whatever you named it) action we just created in the previous list, in the Actions window pane (You may need to reopen the pane, Windows > Actions).
2. Select the Play icon.
3. The action will recreate itself and apply to the new image!

Batch Watermark

So there’s the quicker way of doing a single watermark in Photoshop, where you don’t have to recreate it each time! Now let’s save even more time and batch an entire photoset!

Creating the Action

To create a new action in Photoshop:

1. Repeat step 1-5 of the previous creation steps (You can also edit the existing action we created or duplicate it, but I recommend doing this as a separate action. Give this a new name like Watermark Batch).
2. Add this final step to the action series, Go to ‘File‘ and select ‘Save As.’
3. Select the final save type (I recommend JPEG or PNG) and save it anywhere on your PC.
4. Now click the ‘Stop‘ icon in the Action window pane.

What this does is tells Photoshop to apply the watermark and instantly save the watermarked image to your chosen location!

Applying the Action

To apply the newly created batch action to a set of images:

1. Go to the ‘File‘ tab and navigate to ‘Automate,’ then select ‘Batch.’
2. A new window will appear. Under the ‘Play‘ heading, select the Watermark Batch action we just created.
3. Under the ‘Source‘ heading navigate to the location that has your set of images in it. Keep this source type as a Folder.
4. Under ‘Destination‘ select the final save location of the new images.
5. Make sure the ‘Override Action “Save As” Commands’ box is checked.
6. Select ‘OK‘
7. You’ll see every image open and close on the screen. Once done, it’ll revert to the screen you started on.
8. Head to your save location and make sure everything is looking good!

Batching Watermarks on Mobile

Mobile users, fear not! There are ways to still have this level of convenience right there on your mobile devices as well!

There are dozens of apps and tools to use to do this quickly, but for time’s sake, I’m only going to cover the one Quinn and I currently use for @Bubbl3AndSqueak. I covered this in a recent post about the various apps Quinn and I are using, but I highly recommend the eZy Watermark apps for this!

Both the eZy Watermark Photo and eZy Watermark Video are phenomenal apps that I believe do a great job of getting this process done efficiently. Each app has a “Lite” version and a “Pro” version. Lite is free, but limited, whereas Pro is $5.99 for each app ($11.98 in total).

I recommend investing the $12 if you’re a Sex Worker who mainly operates with mobile devices. What I like about this app is the ability to add images and text to your content and then save those images and/or text as templates (similar to Photoshop Actions). Then you just have to select the template every time you need a new image or video watermarked.

The batch watermarking feature is pretty straight forward too! Just tap all the image, or videos, you need marked, select the template you want to use, and let the app do the rest!

Word of warning, it’s a pretty battery consuming process so I recommend plugging your charger in! If your phone/tablet auto-locks during it, there is a chance the app might close (especially if you’re in “Low Power Mode” on iPhone).

Back in the old blog I had this epic piece about the software and apps Quinn and I use to manage our Sex Work business. We use A LOT of different programs for different needs. So I’m going to showcase everything we use, what it’s used for, and a little on how to use each one!

Now we use a combination of mobile and PC apps, but since we use 28 different phone apps for our Sex Work business, I want to only focus on mobile apps.

Here are all the phone apps we’re currently using! I’ll explain them all beneath the image. To enlarge, click the image to open the gallery!

So I’m sure 50% of you have done the math and are saying, “But PornoBot…that’s only 27 apps.” I know! I can count. There’s 1 app I don’t keep in this folder and I want to highlight it all on it’s own.

Dashlane – My Go-To VPN

Dashlane has improved my life in so many ways! First of all it’s a digital password vault. You have to remember ONE password and Dashlane stores all of your password data in it! What’s more is when you log into a website, and have Dashlane, you just have to remember that single password! You’ll be prompted to enter it and then you’ll auto log-in to whatever site you’re on! On the mobile app you have to manually select to use Dashlane, but it’s still amazingly fast. There’s even more!

Dashlane also has tools and features like strong password generators, notifying you if a service you use has had a breech, and it even audits your passwords and helps you replaced reused passwords/strengthen your online security! You can store almost anything from passwords, payment methods, addressed, etc. Anything to speed up your online activity!

So why am I paying $60 a year for it? Well 2 reasons:

1. The paid version allows you to sync your various devices so if I create a password for a site on my PC, that password immediately gets stored onto my phone, iPads, and second PC. It makes life so much easier when you never have to try to remember a password!
2. The second reason I pay for it, is simple. Dashlane is one of the most user-friendly and powerful mobile VPNs I’ve ever used! The best part is if you pay for the service, all the devices that you’ve connected have access to the VPN.

I cannot recommend Dashlane enough! Go check it out!

Video/Photo Editing Apps

Probably our most used apps in this collection are the photo/video apps. We edit almost all of our content in Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop on the PC, but sometimes you need something quick and easy to make things happen!

A lot of people find one and just use that entirely, but in my experience, each app for photo/video editing is a unique program that has it’s own benefits and use. Therefore, we use several consistently!

Let’s start with Photos:

Photo Apps

There are really only 3 we’re using these days (again, most of our photos go into the PC version of Photoshop or another Adobe Creative Cloud program called Lightroom.) So they are:

Snapchat

While Snapchat is primarily a social media platform, the filters provided are often incredibly fun to use and you don’t need to actually send them via Snapchat to save and use them!

We’re a little weary of Snapchat though and tend to shy away from using it as of late. Those filters often downgrade the quality of the images and our brand virtually requires every image to be HD.

Photoshop Express

The mobile version of Photoshop! Now, I’ll be very upfront, it’s not as robust as the desktop version nor can you do about 60% of what you can do with the desktop, but in terms of quality, this is my current mobile go to.

Since I have an Adobe Creative Cloud Business license, I also get the premium features like blur and direct edits, but the pre-built templates are choice and in minutes you can make amazingly high quality images 100% on mobile. You can get Adobe Creative subscriptions for as little as $9.99/mo and get apps like PS Express and Pr Rush.

PS Express is also my mobile image watermarking app too! They have a lot of pre-installed fonts that you’ll also find in other programs, so brand consistency isn’t too much of a worry.

Probably the best feature in PS Express is the blemish removal tool! It’s basically the Stamp Tool from the desktop version of Photoshop, but a lot simpler! You simply click on a blemish (or any unwanted object really) and it finds replacement content for it instantly! It’s not always perfect, but it can definitely help! Oh… and yes, it works for larger “blemishes” like cats and wall outlets too!

Pixaloop

This is actually the newest download into that folder and it’s an app I’ve just started playing with. Pixaloop is a Cinemagraph creation app. Basically it takes still images and adds subtle animation to said images to create slight movement in a still image. You’ll start to see it more as the years go on and I’m trying to jump onto that trend before it goes consumer! (wink wink, nudge nudge)

Video Apps

There’s a lot of em! And each one has a very specific purpose. It’s not uncommon for Quinn and I to use 4-5 of these apps on 1 piece of content!

Premiere Rush

The mobile version of Adobe Premiere. It’s decent, but like PS Express, don’t go expecting it to do everything. This, unlike the rest of the apps, is a full video editor though, so it is definitely worth checking out.

It takes a while to get use to working with their sequencer, but you’ll get it in time! I mainly use this app when I have to do something on the fly and just can’t use my PC to make it happen. Definitely one to keep around if your primary editor starts acting up!

Quik, Splice, and GoPro

Going to hit all three of these at once since they’re a family. These are the GoPro capturing and editing applications! We film with a GoPro Hero 5 and these apps all come with it! You can download them independently, but to be honest, I’m not entirely sure about the costs associated with each. I know you can get Splice 100% for free, but I recall having to log in with my account on Quinn phone to bypass a paywall for Quik.

So the best part… the names kind of explain exactly what they’re used for!

Quick warning, a lot of these apps in this family do include music. Please note, it is NOT for commercial use, which means if you plan to monetize that video, do NOT use their music.

GoPro – This is the app to control the physical GoPro camera! So we set up the shot, turn on the camera, and use my phone as a monitor and remote to record. This is how we’re able to get those headcam shots for our “Be Like Bubble” POV series looking so clean!

Quik – Like the name implies, this is a quick and easy video editor. It’s robust enough to handle 4K content, but easy enough to use without ANY formal training! We don’t edit our videos with it. What we do, is use their “action” or “balanced” trim feature to create our ManyVids 20-29sec previews! This app basically seeks through the footage to find the most exciting moments across the clip and creates and instant trailer! Don’t want the trailer feature, go to each clip and tap ‘Trim.’ It defaults to Balanced, just switch it to manual and you’ll get the whole clip!

Splice – This is an awesome compilation editor and sometimes, I’ll use this over Premiere solely because of how quick it makes the process. You upload your clips, adjust the timings, and you’re done!

The biggest downside of the entire GoPro family is that there is no good way to watermark content inside of the apps. You can create titles, but that’s about it. You’ll need something else to make that happen, like this one!

WatermarkV (eZy Watermark Videos)

My go-to mobile video watermarking app! As you look on the app store, make sure you look for this specific version. This is the pro version and the free version limits you too much to use for this business. I don’t think I paid more then $5 for the pro version and it’s my go-to mobile watermarker! There’s dozens of options, hundreds of fonts, you can upload imagemarks for easier editing too!

Probably the best feature is the batch watermarker! You upload multiple pieces of content and watermark ALL of them in one go. The most we’ve ever done was 10 videos at once!

Record it!

Record it! is a basic phone screen recorder. Nothing really special here aside from it allows you to record you interacting with your own phone. Works great when you have to show someone how to do something specific on a mobile device!

ImgPlay

Last on for the video apps! ImgPlay is a .gif creation app! Basically you add a clip, trim it, add some additional things like a sticker or watermark, and then export those gorgeous, engaging gifs everyone loves.

This one is worth the $3 paid version too! There’s a feature in the pro version that allows you to resize perfectly for Twitter so you never have to worry about content not fitting your timeline!

Social Media

They’re in there so I should include them. For social we use Twitter and Snapchat. I’m pretty sure you all understand both so we’ll just keep moving!

Marketing Apps

Whew… Y’all still with me? Good, cause we’ve got more to cover! Next up is the apps specifically used in our marketing applications! I’ll also briefly include my WordPress app here. Pornobot.org is a WordPress Hosted site if you didn’t know and that’s simply the mobile app I use to post and check analytics from.

unfollow

A really simple app, but worth understanding. We all want followers, it’s a reputation metric. It will always be secondary to engagement metrics, but it’s true, a higher following count denotes credibility. So a lot of people mutual follow each other. Well as you get into the thousands of followers, some people may drop off of your following list, but you’re still connected with them.

In marketing terms, this is called a “dead” or “ghost” follow. This app shows you who’s unfollowed you so you can do the same thing.

So a lot of you may think this is pretty stupid right? Why bother? Well the algorithm on Twitter is stacked and dead follows can result in your content not going as far as it should, especially if your following to followers ratio is heavily one sided (e.g. accounts who don’t follow anyone and accounts who follow more people then who follow them).

This app allows you to maintain some balance in that effort!

Canva

Canva is a quick and easy graphic design application. Even if you have no real graphic design understanding, Canva has built-in templates and makes it really simple to use!

We use Canva for things like Tip Menu’s and misc. text graphics. In fact a lot of the content I produce specifically for the Pornobot brand is made in Canva for the sheer convenience of that application.

Pexels

Pexels is a cool app and website I use for my vanilla jobs, but I’ve also started doing content with it for Sex Work too. Basically, Pexels is free-to-use for commercial use images! You source the images and then can add text or other misc. content.

You’ll be seeing Pexels content a lot more in the Pornobot brand, we’re not using it too much for the Bubbl3andSqueak brand at the moment.

Hootsuite

This app is everything to me. In my vanilla life I manage around 40 social media profiles for businesses, influencers of those businesses, and my own personal accounts (including the two sex work accounts @Porn0bot and @Bubbl3andSqueak).

What I do would not be possible without Hootsuite. Basically you add your social media accounts to the service and use it to schedule posts and tweets. You can also use Hootsuite to check your notifications and such and really never log into a platform directly again!

Personally, I like to work ahead of the current day so we schedule out our content about 2-3 weeks in advance and the daily stuff we do is just maintenance! It makes this job so much simpler when you don’t have to spend an excessive amount of time drafting tweets on the spot!

Misc. Apps

Home stretch everyone! Here are the other apps we’re using for Sex Work!

Google Chrome

While iPhones come pre-installed with Safari, we choose to separate our sex work from vanilla lives completely. Chrome is for Sex Work and Safari is for vanilla. This way I can show something on my phone to a vanilla person without worrying of what was last in my browser!

Giphy

I’m not a big fan of the Twitter .gif search, instead I use Giphy to get those awesome reaction gifs we use in so much of our content!

GMail

Our email provider’s builtin app. I know we could set it up in our normal Mail app on iPhone, but like Chrome, we keep everything 100% separate!

Dropbox

Nothing beats cloud storage! We use Dropbox since I just flat out don’t trust Google Drive with our content. We pay $12 per month for 3TB of storage!

Google Calendar

Quinn and I are on a very, very rigid work/life routine. It’s honestly the only way we can get stuff done with everything we both manage. We use block scheduling and since Google Calendar works so well for this we’re using them as of late to manage our whole life!

I’ll even show you all how we do it! I’m purple, Quinn is green, and both of us are blue! Here’s what tomorrow looks like!

Google Docs

Google Docs is basically a script writer for us. We can collaborate on content on our own personal devices and review each others work. A great app for getting on the same page!

iScanner

Uses pictures you take on your phone, cleans them up, and turns them into .pdf documents. This is a great tool when you’re Producers, like we are, as we have to deal with additional contracting for additional models. This speeds up that turnaround significantly!

Authenticator

This is an app provided by Google that connects to various services (Chaturbate is a great example of this!) and provides two-way authentication as an added layer of security. For instance, if you have this turned on with your Chaturbate account, someone could know your password and still be unable to access your account because they don’t have access to this app. It’s an amazing security tool!

Trello

Scrum project management, simplified! Trello is basically a scrum board to manage your projects. Not familiar with a scrum board? Basically you create a workflow, add tasks to that workflow, and then track those tasks across said workflow!

It’s a pretty straightforward app and it works great if you’re like us and have dozens of ideas a day, but never have enough time to film them all before you forget!

Speedtest

This is the mobile version of the speedtest.net website. Basically it gives me ammo when I call my ISP each month and complain about dropouts. With this evidence I often negotiate discounts and rewards because “I’m a home business and losing internet ruins my revenue streams.”

Reversee

Last one! Reversee is a mobile reverse image search application. Don’t believe someone is who they say they are? There’s a chance their avi or other images might be elsewhere online. This is the quickest way to out a catfish or scammer too! You simply save an image, search with that image on the app, and that’s it!

And there you have it! There are the 28 mobile apps Quinn and I use almost weekly to manage our business! It’s not all of them though and there’s several more I’ll cover when I do part 2 to discuss PC applications!

To optimize images for Twitter, simply create images to mirror this exact aspect ratio. You don’t necessarily have to follow the specific pixel counts, but match the ratios. If you do it right your content will appear uncropped on your audience’s Home screen! Like this! (This is a screenshot from my home feed on the Twitter iOS app).

See how you can see the whole image (save minor visibility on the corner, where the lines intersect)? That’s what image optimization for social media is all about! The full cheat sheet is below. Now get out there and make Twitter look good!
