Meski demikian, saat ini ada beberapa petugas dari kepolisian dan TNI yang tengah membantu proses evakuasi warga dan menyelamatkan barang-barang berharga korban.

"Saya minta pemerintah cepat tanggap dalam hal ini, apalagi bencananya sampai segini," kata Yogi.

Yogi dan warga lainnya belum bisa memastikan penyebab bencana banjir yang terbilang paling besar berdasarkan catatan banjir di wilayah Kota Tasikmalaya. Namun, mereka menduga adanya fungsi drainase yang kurang baik sehingga air meluap akibat hujan deras.
