Summer is here, and prices at PorterMason.com are dropping. Dropping like my rent when I move to Los Angeles in September!

Yes, in September I’m leaving New York to move to Los Angeles.

And you know what I don’t want to move across the country? Unsold piles of my book of Bassist Wanted comic strips, All Local Bands Suck (Except Ours)!

So help me out: buy my book of comic strips now

We all know you want to buy the book, but you just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Well friends, this is your moment.

I’ve even dropped the price to $11.99 for a limited time.

Only $11.99!! That’s less than a single ticket to Transformers 2! For 92 beautiful pages of comic strips! And none of that $11.99 will go to support director Michael Bay. I guarantee it.

I think we can all agree my book is this summer’s alternative to Transformers 2.

So again, if you’ve thought about buying the book, I’d really appreciate it if you’d pull the trigger now.

Buy it online right now.

You can use your PayPal account to pay for it, but if that annoys you, PayPal also lets you just use a credit card.

Now if you ever see me in person, I will always have copies of my book on me, and will be happy to sell you one right then. Believe me. Just ask.

But don’t wait to see me! Who ever sees me? No one! And you won’t have cash! Or you’ll I won’t be able to make change! Bah! What a hassle! Just buy it now online instead.

And if you wouldn’t mind, please pass on the word about the book.

Email friends. Blog about it. Put stuff on Facebook. Twitter some tweets. Every little bit helps.

Remember, this is a one-man operation.

I have no company backing me and my comics. It’s just me and you, friends. It’s me and you (and my book) against AIG and Halliburton! So let’s really give those corporate jerkfaces a run for their money, huh? Yeah!

OK, that’s it.

Love,

Porter

All right, now then. Here they are, the best around for this month:

So which is the most frightening land mammal? That which possesses sinister magicks allowing it see our future, or that with a mighty bloodlust for fiscally-conservative/socially-liberal billionaires?

The answer is neither. This is the most frightening land mammal.

Yes yes yes, it’s time for the big Charleston contest!

Oh, wait, this isn’t the scene from It’s a Wonderful Life where the dance floor opens up and Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed fall into the pool and get all wet and do the dirty dancing?

Oh, then it must just be the five most popular cartoons on the site from last month.

Some new stuff, mixed in with some old. And Back Bay makes a showing! If you’ve never read my strips involving cute, little animals, you really should.

Boy howdy, are there some fun shows to see in February!

In addition to Ye Olde Reuben Williams Comedy Houre, (almost) every Saturday at 10:30 at UCB, I get to be a guest at the world-famous Comic Book Club!

Reuben Williams Attacks!
Sat, Feb 7, 10:30 pm – 11:30 pm at UCB Theater

Reuben Williams Attacks!
Sat, Feb 21, 10:30 pm – 11:30 pm at UCB Theater

Comic Book Club
Tue, Feb 24, 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Peoples Improv Theater

Reuben Williams Attacks!
Sat, Feb 28, 10:30 pm – 11:30 pm at UCB Theater

This is exciting for two reasons:

I am a nerd for the Comic Book Club, and listen to their podcast most every week.

I’ll also have my new Bassist Wanted book in tow that night, and will have a planned impromptu book release party/signing after the show at some bar TBD. More on that soon.

So come to the show(s), buy a book and listen to this:

While I have not found the right girl to marry yet, I have found the right band for my wedding. And it is those guys. (Thanks to Pat for the link!)

Breaking news has occurred! So I need to update my post about my shows in January.

I just found out earlier in the week that I’ve joined Reuben Williams! An illustrious group of folks including my old pals Charlie Todd, Anthony King, Kate Spencer and Charlie Sanders. Another pal, Ben Rodgers will be joining the team also. At this point, I feel like I’ve listed more than half the group, and it makes it seem like the rest of the folks are not my pals. This is not true, so here are the remaining pals: Eugene Cordero, Eric Scott, Lennon Parham and Joe Wengert.

“But what does this mean for me, Porter?” Well, this means I won’t be performing intermittently on Tuesdays, but rather I’ll be up every single Saturday at 10:30pm.

So you can’t use your “I can’t go see shows on weekdays” excuse anymore, folks! And you can’t use your “you have to tell me which weeks you’re performing” feint either! You can still, however, pull your “I don’t want to see your stupid shows, dickface” trump card, just like always.

For January specifically, this means your options are:

Reuben Williams: As Seen on TV
Sat, Jan 17, 10:30 pm – 11:30 pm at UCB Theater

Reuben Williams: As Seen on TV
Sat, Jan 24, 10:30 pm – 11:30 pm at UCB Theater

Reuben Williams: As Seen on TV
Sat, Jan 31, 10:30 pm – 11:30 pm at UCB Theater

Also, earlier today, a plane choked on some birds and crashed twitpic, and things were batshit, but then everything was cool.
