I love live shows, especially shooting them. Anyone who has seen me shooting at a concert (wether it be on an assignment or just for kicks) has caught me singing and possibly dancing while shooting. I do manage to be still though to compensate for the blurry shots that I produce when i can't contain myself:)

Here are some shots from The J*Davey show @the Blockley here in Philadelphia this past summer. Also featuring photos of Elevator Fight and Def Sound. Deserved credit to Yusuf 'yuiE' Muhammad for putting a great lineup together.

A Personal Touch

If you're here and you're reading, you're wonderful and I appreciate you. Blogging consistently has been a challenge yet my engine in sharing what I create. This blog is where I first began showcasing my work some years back and its been wonderful to hear such genuine admiration and feed back from followers and passerby. Thank you for looking, peeking in from time to time, reading, and especially your comments.

I feel inspired to share some of the same love here, in this case, vendor love with Kraft&Jute for being so great. Their service is punctual and they are friendly and open to answer any questions. I couldn't be happier. I found them last year and have continued to use their packaging service. Its so valuable to find small local businesses like theirs that aline with my vision. i love giving credit where its due:)

"Love comes in all forms, shapes, sizes..." and apparently potatoes. The food gods must know i won't pass up the opportunity to help reveal how beautiful nature can be. What are the chances. I was going through some small potatoes I was prepping for dinner and I ran into these two at the bottom of the bowl....

charming at best... taste great I'm sure, but i'll never know since i had to compost them after some busy and productive weeks, in other words I took too long to photograph them. However, they remain in my pictorial memory <3

Goddesses are a Constant Muse

I had so much fun photographing some crazy talented women and bright spirits. Michelle (half of SEAMPOETS) created the concept of gathering inspiring and creative women in her circle and honoring them with a goddess themed photoshoot. She asked that I photograph and take part which was a task all of its own. Some how I managed to be in the group photos; doubly playing photographer and subject. The Intense Mushroom

So you all may remember some time ago I posted 2 images of the Love Peach that I found at a local farmer's market. Astounded by what I saw I immediately knew that I would photograph it, I almost didn't want us to even eat it. But of course we did and it was well worth it. After that I definitely didn't think I would be as lucky again to encounter yet another emoticon in my food. But I was wrong. I started chopping mushrooms to cook for dinner and this face was staring back at me and I thought oh "wth?"

I grabbed a camera and started shooting (really what else would I do I this situation).

It took a while to think of a name for this post. The first thought was calling it "angry mushroom" but that felt inappropriate. I can't imagine any vegetable (or edible fungus for that matter being angry). I stared back at this image for some time and realized "this mushroom was mad intense." Bam!

I had the absolute pleasure of hanging out and photographing West London's 12 Dirty Bullets a couple of weeks ago here in Philly. Everyone who knows me knows that I'm a hard music critic (some say a music snob) so it means something when i say that this band is GOOOOD! real music and real passion.

"Nothing personal: The War on A Modern Stereotype"

We attended a photo exhibit this weekend in Charlotte, NC which displayed the work of my sister from different parents, Jasiatic. Visitors were challenged to rethink their own stereotypes of single motherhood. The exhibit was based on her work documenting her adorable and often "flier than most" children as well as "more than just a mommy" self portraits.
