<p><strong>Is fear and apprehension preventing you from becoming the success you always dreamed of becoming?</strong> Lets understand where your anxiety is coming from &#8211; and find out how you can overcome it.</p>
<p><em>What&#8217;s holding you back from achieving success? Is it a lack of talent/skill to do something worthwhile?<span id="more-8600"></span> </em></p>
<p>I doubt it!</p>
<p>Chances are you&#8217;ve got a compelling passion for a particular type of skill, whether it&#8217;s assisting others, developing a product, or supplying a service.</p>
<p>As a counselor, I&#8217;ve found that the number one reason most people never take the plunge and start working on their passion is anxiety.</p>
<h2><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>Where oh where does the Fear come from?</strong></span></h2>
<p>I completely understand apprehension because I&#8217;ve experienced it myself. Many times in the very far past while was helping others to defeat personal struggles &#8230; I found that instead of feeling a sense of achievement, I was drained. I was seeing people go on to better futures and more fulfilling lives through finding their true sense of Self &#8211; yet here I was grounded, and almost resentful, after my work was done. Instead of anticipating the next successful patient, I almost shunned taking many on. I was in a dilemma and I did NOT like it one bit!</p>
<h2><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>My dilemma?</strong></span></h2>
<p>When I started feeling this way a few years back, I knew there had to be a change &#8211; in my life, in the way I thought and in the way I approached my work. But at the same time, I was fearful that if I changed, the whole thing would go south and I would fail miserably.</p>
<p>With lots of introspection I realized that the reason for this negative thought process was this:<em> that instead of really hearing my Self, I was listening to everyone else</em>. I intrinsically knew what would make me feel content. I&#8217;d done all the exercises I recommend to my own patients and asked myself all those magical questions to find out who I really am &#8211; but I&#8217;d repressed the power they held over my own life. I was making decisions based not on my own core values, but on what was critical to others, and apprehensive about what would happen if I didn&#8217;t heed them. I feared being a &#8220;loser&#8221; because it would affect my family, my friends, my co-workers and my own self esteem.</p>
<p>I should have been more afraid of going against my own wants, needs, and core values!</p>
<h2><strong><span style="color:#800080;">How to Kick Fear to become the Success you always dreamed of becoming</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>1) Your Life is Your Own:</strong> </span>You must realize that your life is your own. You will never achieve an overwhelming sense of personal fulfillment until you recognize your core values and stay true to them &#8211; regardless of what someone else has to say about it. Your excitement is fueled by a career that focuses on the key values most important to your sense of Self. And that passion is what fuels your vision; your inspiration to get up each morning and face the day with a sense of enthusiasm.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>2) Believe in Yourself:</strong></span> You must have belief in yourself. Even if other people around you are skeptical, you can&#8217;t let that deter you from your goals. Only you can create the &#8220;big picture&#8221; of what your dreams will look like when everything is in sync with your values, and it will never be the same as someone else&#8217;s creation. Complete faith in your Self is what will keep you going, facing obstacles and defeating them, doing the things that will move you ever closer to the big picture goal.</p>
<h2><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>Some awesome questions that will help you Fearlessly achieve your BIG Dreams:</strong></span></h2>
<p>It&#8217;s not easy to stay true to your Self when so many others are imploring you to give up on your dreams and passions. And it&#8217;s certainly no less challenging to keep moving forward when you have an aversion to change.</p>
<p><strong>Don&#8217;t give up; ask yourself these four awesome questions to refuel the fire:</strong></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="color:#993366;">1. What are the tasks I am dreading? How can I get them over with and get on with what I love?</span><br />
<span style="color:#993366;"> 2. Who am I assisting by staying true to the Big Picture?</span><br />
<span style="color:#993366;"> 3. What am I doing that someone else couldn&#8217;t do as well?</span><br />
<span style="color:#993366;"> 4. What is the worst thing that could happen right now? Is it really all that distressing?</span></p></blockquote>
<p>When I sat down and honestly answered these questions, I found a renewed sense of purpose in my life&#8217;s work. The passion was back &#8211; and I was more successful than ever helping others heal positively to achieve their goals.</p>
<p>Becoming a successful person takes energy(you need to DO the work), a clear vision(you need to focus on the BIG Picture), and most of all, the ability to defeat(kick those negative thoughts) your fears and anxieties.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>Lets STOP listening to other people and stay in harmony with what your Self is saying. You can take your dream and turn it into something really awesome! You just need to have complete and utter faith in your SELF.</strong></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">Self-sabotage is an inner conflict that goes on between your yearning to make your dream a reality and the feeling that you shouldn’t or can’t do it.</span></p>
<p><a name="_GoBack"></a><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">When you consistently get in your own way, on an unconscious level, you are afraid of the negative side of success and what it could mean for you.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">Beyond the goodies such as, increased income and travel, it may be helpful to ask, “How might my life change if I were to succeed?”<span id="more-8567"></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"><b>Some possible answers:</b></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You will have to leave certain family member or friends behind.<br />
People will be jealous of you.<br />
Coworkers will expect more from you.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You responsibilities will increase.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You’ll have to work more.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">Your boss will be more demanding.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You will be treated differently by others.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;color:#800080;"><b>Signs that you fear success:</b></span></h2>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You feel that you’re unworthy or not deserving of receiving your good and reaching your dreams. You simply choose to stay where you are because you don’t feel good enough.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You don’t take daily consistent action due to your lack of inspiration and motivation. You waste time doing unnecessary tasks and fear doing the most important ones.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">Your irrational beliefs, choices and decisions keep you stuck and hold you back.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You feel guilty about having more than others. You believe that someone else has to lose in order for you to gain.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You get in your own way. On the edge of success, you self-sabotage with destructive behavior. For example, you may have an affair, embezzle money or have an addiction spiraling out of control.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You are unable to make well thought out decisions. You act impulsively or don’t listen to your intuition. You’re unable to get out of your own way.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You don’t want to work the long hours that success requires. You’re comfortable where you are today. You don’t want to rock the boat; instead you play it safe.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You don’t want the responsibility and accountability that comes with success.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;color:#800080;"><b>How to overcome the fear of success:</b></span></h2>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"><b>*Write down the negative consequences of success.</b></span><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"> Answer the question, “How might my life change if I succeed?” Write out a plan of action for handling the changes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"><b>*Be positive.</b></span><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"> Train yourself to <a href="http://positiveprovocations.com/2013/05/31/how-to-boost-your-happiness-with-positive-thinking-5-special-steps/" target="_blank">think and act positive</a>. Stay away from people who don’t support you or your dream. Choose a positive attitude. Choose daily gratitude over doubt.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">When you believe in yourself; others will too.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"><b>*Write down everything that frightens you about success.</b></span><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"> Write down a solution down for </span><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"><i>each</i></span><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"> fear. For example, “I fear that I’m not good enough to do proper marketing because I don’t understand technology.” Your solution: I could get an intern or hire someone to help me.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"><b>*Learn.</b></span><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"> Study what you don’t know. Educate yourself. It’s like turning the light on in the dark. Study famous and successful people. Don’t waste time with gaming, television and other addictions. Choose to dedicate yourself to what you need to learn and do.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"><b>*Enjoy each day.</b></span><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"> Success is a journey not a destination. Focus on what you do have. Spend time with the people you <a href="http://positiveprovocations.com/2013/05/07/12-ways-to-just-do-good-for-the-joy-of-it/" target="_blank">love</a>. Work hard and keep working towards your goal. Love the process.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"><b>*Don’t stop.</b></span><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"> Commit to forever. The best time to be alive is now. There are limitless ideas, dreams, inventions and opportunities. If something doesn’t work. Try something else. Be all in.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;"><b>*Stop the excuses</b></span><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">. Stop telling yourself: Why you can’t. Why you can’t get started, why you can’t learn something new. Stop the excuses of why you can’t try again, why you can’t make it. Don’t allow your excuses to keep you from going out on a limb and live your life vision. Stop believing that others are smarter, richer or better than you are.<br />

<p><span style="font-family:Verdana, serif;">You have been given unique gifts, abilities, experience and knowledge. Other people need what you have to offer. People are waiting to hear from you. Begin today feeling a sense of freedom and enthusiasm for the great things that are coming your way!</span></p>

<p>We are all chasing happiness is some form. Be it in the form of money, health, fame, love&#8230;.We all live with the misconception that happiness can be achieved by possession of the things we hold so dear to our heart. Is that really true??<span id="more-8547"></span></p>
<p>One of my favorite comedians and actor Jim Carrey rightly said <em>“I hope everybody could get rich and famous and will have everything they ever dreamed of, so they will know that its not the answer.”</em></p>
<p>The happiness we seek stems forth from within. Within where your thoughts lay. Within where your feelings rest. Your mind and your heart is the within where true happiness resides.</p>
<p><em><strong>So why aren&#8217;t we happy then? If its that simple, if its right Within us, how come we are all still chasing it..happiness I mean?</strong></em></p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>It all boils down to ONE single thought.</strong></span></p>
<p>Ever notice how when something &#8216;not so happy&#8217; is happening in your life, your heart and mind automatically go to the worse case scenario. That is the root cause of all unhappiness. That single starting point where the negative thinking spiral starts&#8230;that&#8217;s where we need to nip it in the bud.</p>
<h1><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>Here is &#8216;HOW to Boost Your Happiness with Positive Thinking&#8217; and nip that negative thinking in the bud :</strong></span></h1>
<p>You and only YOU can boost your happiness by focusing on positive things and reducing your negative thinking. You can do it with practice: <em>Simply, by following a negative thought with a positive one</em>. This practice will help to retrain your habitually negative thought patterns to bring more positive thoughts to your life.</p>
<p>Ratios especially the ratio of positive to negative thoughts is a major factor in our overall happiness. Our brains are constantly monitoring the emotional tone of our thoughts – too many negative thoughts and our brain responds by creating stress and sadness in our body. When we add more positive thoughts, our brain will create relaxation and happiness. By training yourself to follow (or dismiss) negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll improve your positive/negative thought ratio and be happier.</p>
<p><strong>Now, How do you <em>stay motivated</em> to Stay Positive?</strong></p>
<p>After you’re aware of your negative thoughts and feelings and work to counteract them for a few days, they will gradually begin to lessen. You’ll be able to concentrate more on what you want to do without experiencing distracting emotions and stress. This will make you more productive and energetic. And best of all, it will make you happier.</p>
<h2><span style="color:#800080;">Steps to boost your happiness with Positive thinking:</span></h2>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><b>Step 1 - </b><b>Start by Listing Happy Thoughts:</b></span> Start by taking about 15 minutes and list all the happy thoughts you can think of. Just use a piece of paper and make a long list, give it a good 15-30 minutes. List people and places that make you happy – good friends, favorite vacation spots, childhood memories and more. List things that make you happy – puppies, babies, the smell of a new car, a favorite dinner, a day off relaxing by a pool. List(happy list) anything and everything you can think of that makes you happy.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><b>Step 2 &#8211; Awareness of Negative Thoughts &amp; Feelings: </b></span>Just for this week, commit to pay attention to your thoughts. Whenever you catch yourself thinking about or feeling anything negative, sad or stressful, label that thought “unhappy.” Don’t worry if you have a lot of unhappy thoughts and feelings throughout the day, that is perfectly normal. Just pay attention and label them.</p>
<p><b><span style="color:#993366;">Step 3 &#8211; Instantly Follow With a Happy Item:</span> </b>After you label an unhappy thought or feeling, follow it immediately with a happy item from your Happy List. You might pick one item to use all day long, or choose different ones each time you need them. Just bring that happy thing to mind for a second or two.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>Step 4 &#8211; Smile SO much:</strong></span> Whenever a negative thoughts comes up, replace it with a happy item from the list, but don&#8217;t forget to smile while doing so. A smile makes your mind calmer and every negative thought seem less stressful.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>Step 5 &#8211; Make your personal Commitment to think positive:</strong></span> Positively Affirm everyday(especially when those negative thoughts and feelings strike) by saying this to yourself : <em>I will flip my negative/stressful thoughts and feelings and follow them with a happy thought. </em></p>
<h3>Some special tips:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Please don’t judge yourself. We all have lots of unhappy and negative thoughts throughout the day. As you become more aware of them you might feel embarrassed or ashamed about how many you have. Don’t worry, it is perfectly normal to have all sorts of strange thoughts – we usually don’t pay so much attention to them.</li>
<li>Force a smile on your face as you bring your happy thought to your mind. This will help erase the effects of the negative thoughts.</li>
<li>As a few days pass, the vast number of negative thoughts and feelings often decrease. As if the brain gets bored being negative, because you replace the thoughts so quickly(and happily) with positive ones.</li>
<li>Make sure to remind yourself to do this task throughout the day. Don’t let a day go by without engaging with your negative thoughts and substituting positive ones.</li>
</ul>
<h2><span style="color:#800080;">Add to this Positive Thinking Skill</span></h2>
<p>Will you be waiting for negative thoughts to come along to think something positive? Add to this skill by making a conscious and planned effort to think positive thoughts throughout the day. Decide that you will think only positive thoughts for your entire lunch hour or during one of your breaks. Decide that you will only think positive thoughts while driving in your car or while riding the train/bus. Create times in your day when you will be “positive only”. This will give you even more practice at being positive and happy.</p>

<p><strong>Have you ever felt like you want more out of your life? Ever felt like you have no control of whats happening around you? Then this is the article that will help you gain positive perspective.</strong></p>
<p>If you want more in your life…thats ok and that’s a great place to start. It doesn’t matter if you are dissatisfied with your personal life, the career path you have taken, or something not as easily defined. When you make the decision to move forward in a different, more positive direction, it’s the first step that needs to be taken. The second step is to take control. If you are truly set on experiencing positive change, you must take control of the factors you can.<span id="more-8516"></span></p>
<h2><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>Positive Control- What CAN you really control?</strong></span></h2>
<p>In our day to day lives there are many many things we have no control over&#8230;.like there is no way to predict how much traffic will be on the way to work or whether a friend will say or do something that will hurt us deeply. We can’t singlehandedly make the economy turn around and we can’t make gas prices change, no matter how much we complain. These are the things we have to deal with but can’t change on our own.</p>
<p><em>So what can YOU control????</em></p>
<p><strong>YOU are able to control is how YOU deal with things that happen in your everyday life.</strong> We’ve all had one of “those days” when it seems that the entire world is against you. You know what I’m talking about: a day that starts with losing your phone only to find it in the desk drawer. This causes you to be late getting to work, followed by a call from the school telling you that your child is suffering from food poisoning&#8230;right when there is a super important meeting at work you need to be at. Top it all off with breakfast that burned while you were looking for your phone, the kids whining until you feel like screaming, and a phone call from your mother-in-law telling you she’s leaving her husband and coming to stay with you until she gets on her feet. Yikes!</p>
<p>Your first reaction might be to step outside to scream at the top of your lungs&#8230;but you hold it&#8230;take a few deep breaths. You draw a nice, hot bubble bath, sip on an entire mug of iced tea, and sit in your lukewarm bath to de-stress. Some days this really is the only way that you are able to take care of yourself! But what would happen if you <em>took control</em> instead?</p>
<p><strong><em>What if you could view life as happening FOR you instead of TO</em> <em>you? </em></strong></p>
<h2><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>Lets Do Something About It &#8211; take control</strong></span></h2>
<p>“Taking control” means taking action; it’s not possible to take control of anything unless you are DOING instead of just TAKING.</p>
<p>In the bad day example above, a confident, well-grounded woman might thank her lucky stars for the opportunity to change. She might be reminded that one of her goals is to lose weight and chasing grumpy kids around the house gives her the ability to do that. Instead of looking at the food poisoning epidemic with disdain, view it as time away from work where she’s able to get to know her children better. While enjoying a staycation with the kids, she could meet someone at the doctor’s office who will help her start her own business(if thats what she wants). And having her mother-in-law move in for a while? Perhaps this will provide her with a built-in babysitter so she can take a college class a couple nights a week, or maybe, she can find a way to say “no” or at least put boundaries around the situation while still being the supportive daughter-in-law she wants to be.</p>
<p><strong>By taking control of your responses</strong> to the situation, you are able to adjust your perspective, alleviate stress, and enable your creativity to kick in. With creativity, you can <em>make</em> your own destiny. It is up to <em>you</em> to decide how you are going to act – and react – to every situation. Sometimes you need a nudge in the right direction before you truly bring about a positive and lasting change in your life. And sometimes, that bubble bath – or listening to the kids scream in the highest register possible &#8211; is a great way to unwind, and find the space within to be in perspective about all that’s happened.</p>
<p>Now you might think &#8220;that my problems are far bigger than all she talks about in this article. How am I to take control of a problematic life full of hurdles?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8230;well,</p>
<p><span style="color:#800080;"><img class="alignleft  wp-image-8522" alt="Positive Control – What CAN you really control?" src="http://zeenatsyal.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/istock-balloons-letting-go.jpg?w=121&#038;h=179" width="121" height="179" /><strong>There is a positive way to look at your problems too</strong>.</span> Think of every problem you have as a balloon you are holding on to. Naturally in due course of time, the balloons will either automatically burst or fly away one by one&#8230;.leaving you with fewer and fewer balloons. Life, has a way of making problems naturally run its course. What seemed like &#8216;hell&#8217; a few years back, now seems like &#8216;wow I went through <em>that</em> and survived&#8217;. What seems like todays &#8216;hell&#8217; WILL be tomorrows &#8216;victory&#8217;.</p>
<p><em>Always remember, you may not be able to choose what happens in your life, but you are able to see what is happening FOR you or TO you. This simple positive shift in perspective can help you regain control of your life.</em></p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-8503" alt="Lessons From 6 years of Motherhood~A Tribute to all Mothers and their Children" src="http://zeenatsyal.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/46.jpg?w=600"   />Every day when I look at my little girl,</strong></span> growing up in front of me..all I can think of is how she has so much NEW to her everyday. Everyday there is a new sentence she will learn a new way to say something old. Everyday to me is a marvel with my little girl around.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>As I think back to my childhood days,</strong></span> I remember being very naughty. I also remember being very rebellious and difficult when I was a teenager. But I also really remember how my mother tried her hardest to make me understand life with love. She stayed up nights when we were ill, cried when we scraped our knees, nursed us when we were down. She was there always. My mother worked very hard, but she still tried her level best to put a hot meal on the table, made sure we said our prayers, kept us clean and most of all happy. Today as a grown woman I can appreciate all this.<span id="more-8502"></span></p>
<p><strong><em><span style="color:#993366;">WHY?</span></em></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#993366;"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-8506" alt="haaniya and mummy 2" src="http://zeenatsyal.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/haaniya-and-mummy-2.jpg?w=264&#038;h=300" width="264" height="300" />Cause today I&#8217;m a mother too.</span></strong> I always loved kids. I was the neighborhood&#8217;s favorite baby sitter growing up. I knew, I wanted to be a mother even when I was 12 years old. But the first time I felt my little one kick me from inside me, it was the most profound moment of my life. There was life inside me&#8230;a life that depended on me <em>completely</em>. It was my largest leap of growing up ever. The sense of immediate responsibility makes your mind boggle.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>Then when I saw her smile amidst pain and pants,</strong></span> those tiny fingers, those glimmering eyes&#8230;.ahhh&#8230;that was pure bliss for me. But the real test of motherhood comes amid the smiles. When she would cry all night, when she would get a nappy rash or when she would get a fever&#8230;.oh I would cry with her too-buckets! My own mum would say, &#8220;I haven&#8217;t seen you cry this much in so many years, the way you are crying for your little one.&#8221; Its kind of true.<em>I literally started appreciating my mother and all she did and still does for us.</em></p>
<p>I feel at all times, my girl is like this little person who is walking around the world with my heart totally attached to her. The attachment, the love, the connection, the bliss is more precious to me than all treasures of all the worlds put together.</p>
<h2><span style="color:#800080;">Lessons I learned from 6 years of motherhood:</span></h2>
<ul>
<li><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>To Love Unconditionally-</strong></span> I knew &#8216;love&#8217; long before having a baby. Or atleast I thought I knew love. But when you carry and nurture a baby for nine months inside of you, feeling her every move, hearing her every thought&#8230;and then when she comes into the world-seeing her every tear, feeling all her pain and knowing, just knowing &#8230;as a mother you will be so completely in love with her divinity. I know what she needs before she needs it, or ever asks for it&#8230;.I feel her moods change, even before she does&#8230;.if thats not proof of unconditional love what is? I feel like, I will never be able to love her enough&#8230;.there is still so much love to give&#8230;.sometimes even I&#8217;m in complete amazement at how much love I can feel for this little angel of mine.</li>
<li><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>To Appreciate Purity-</strong></span> Life conditions you to be strong. To be logical. In the process we kind of lose our pure divine states. But becoming a mother, opens you up to so much purity. The purity of the child&#8217;s smile, the child&#8217;s love, the child&#8217;s actions towards you. You cant help but appreciate Purity in its true state&#8230;and have some rub off on you too. I always feel like children are Gods little angels, full of love and purity.</li>
<li><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>To go Back to Innocence-</strong></span> As we grow up and take responsibility of life and all things in it, our own innocence gets covered up in layers of worldliness. But with a child in the house, there are innocent questions, there are innocent conversations, there are innocent ring-a-ring-a-roses and chook chook trains and doll houses and tea parties&#8230;..how can the innocence of it all not take you back to that childlike state of complete innocence. There is a certain charm, a certain divinity that comes forth from pure innocence.</li>
<li><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>Acquired Tremendous Patience-</strong></span> Children are little angels, but can be naughty too. Parenting and motherhood requires that we nurture our little ones to the best of our ability&#8230;.yes, even in the middle of a grocery store &#8220;I want chocolate&#8221; tantrum. At times like these patience is the only virtue that can keep you sane. I have to admit it took me a while to get this one right. The little trick for me is to be calm myself, and then handle whatever tantrums that come my way. Calm me, calms her faster <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </li>
<li><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>Fine tuned my personality-</strong></span> Here in comes the taking responsibility bit. When you realize your every move, every word is being watched with complete and total attention and even emulated, it jolts the daylights out of you. Especially when the little one picks up on a something not-so-good you might&#8217;ve said or done. Its incentive enough to clean up your act. After all we are the role models for our children. Being a positive role model is all I can think of since I have become a mother.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>Noone really has the perfect relationship with their mother&#8217;s,</strong></span> but whats imperative is that the love and the connection don&#8217;t change. Situations change, Love doesn&#8217;t.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>Today as a grown woman, as a mother, as a human being</strong></span> I try my level best to live a conscious life. But even then, I make mistakes. I fall. And that&#8217;s ok. I learn, I understand and move ahead with the lessons I learned along the way. Its because of this reason and this reason only, I can let go of the little imperfections of my mother. Infact, thats what makes her more interesting to me today. Today she is my best friend and even my BFF <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  We talk about everything, share everything. Yes, she still lectures me, corrects me, takes my case and we do disagree on so many things&#8230;&#8230;but like I said earlier, <em>the love hasn&#8217;t changed</em>. <em>I know she means well and says, and does everything out of love.</em> I might not understand those reasons sometimes&#8230;but that doesn&#8217;t affect our relationship. After-all I&#8217;m no perfect little daughter either na <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  We all have our minor imperfections.</p>
<h3><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong><em><span style="color:#993366;text-decoration:underline;">Love does truly Conquer all! </span></em></strong></span></h3>
<h3>Today on this precious day full of love I salute the spirit of every Mother. The spirit of every Child that teaches the mother new lessons everyday and vice versa.</h3>

<p>Having traveled extensively to many countries and meeting many many souls, I have noticed one common negative trait in almost 95% of people(for sometime even me!). What is this negative trait?</p>
<p><em>Here it is: We do good(awesome!), but only because we feel like we are going to get something back in return(not so awesome!). Doing good for personal gain is no good at all.</em></p>
<p>As an occupational hazard, I tend to analyze everything. So, when someone I know made a huge donation to a charity dear to my heart I was mighty pleased ofcourse&#8230;.up until this &#8216;someone&#8217; started talking to press and media about the huge donation they had made. Now I know these people&#8230;I know they started out donating money to this charity out of the goodness of their heart. But, almost unconsciously, when that goodness of heart turned into self promotion and self gain is hard to pin point.<span id="more-8479"></span></p>
<h2><span style="color:#800080;">Negative or Positive Mental Conditioning</span></h2>
<p>I believe it all starts with our mental conditioning. We have been trained since childhood to be a certain way or do a certain act to please someone else. As children we were told &#8220;If you want your teacher to like you, be on your best behavior &#8221;, &#8220;If you do well is your exams, you will get a new toy.&#8221; &#8230;.We have been brought up to believe that all good acts we do deserve a gift or remuneration of some sort. While I have nothing against positive reinforcement, we must realize that there is a very fine line between &#8216;positive reinforcement&#8217; and &#8216;promoting personal gain&#8217;.</p>
<h2><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>What if we were brought up to believe that every good act we do was good for our heart, for our mind and our soul? What is we were brought up to believe that all good acts we do bring immense joy to us and to the person we are doing it for?</strong></span></h2>
<p>Since I have realized this trait was present in me too, I have kept myself in check by asking myself a simple question before I do any GOOD act for anyone. I ask myself &#8220;What am I expecting in return?&#8221; If a bit of personal gain comes up, I correct that thinking by telling myself  &#8221;I do all GOOD acts only for JOY.&#8221;</p>
<p>With practice we can let go of the negative &#8216;personal gain&#8217; mindset and just DO good for the joy of it. What a wonderful world that would be <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<h1><strong><span style="color:#800080;">Here are 12 ways to Just DO Good for the Joy of it:</span></strong></h1>
<ol>
<li><strong><span style="line-height:13px;">Lend your shoulder to someone who needs it without judging their story.</span></strong></li>
<li><strong>Donate a small amount to a charity anonymously.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Teach someone something they need to learn without making them feel like you know best and they don&#8217;t.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Solve someones problem without rubbing it in their face at anytime in the present or future.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Appreciate someone even though you know they have never been kind to you.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Tell someone you believe in them without really expecting the same support back.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Alter or change your plans for someone you love, without ever expecting the same from them.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Ask someone, &#8220;Can I do something for you today?&#8221;&#8230;then do it and let it go.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Allow someone else to teach you a thing a two, even though you might be closed minded about it.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Forgive someone who has wronged you, not because you are proving to be better than them, but because you have genuine compassion for them.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Leave an appreciative comment/line in someones inbox. Not because you want to show them you are so nice, but because you genuinely care.</strong></li>
<li><span style="color:#333399;"><strong>&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;this one is for you. Share one way you can just do good for the joy of it in the comments below. Lets learn from each other.</strong></span></li>

<p>Human tendency dictates that we will make mistakes and we will get on the negative mindset wagon once in a while. And that is ok. The important thing is we started off with good intention hence when this negative mindset sets in, we can make an effort to change it. It gets easier with practice&#8230;I promise. I&#8217;m living proof of it.</p>

<p>Whether we like it or not Social Media is here and SO in your face, that its pretty hard to ignore it. I agree it might not be for everyone, but its here and its literally everywhere.</p>
<p>When I started writing this post it started on my wordpress app on my phone while stuck in traffic. I however continued to finish this post on my laptop later on. If someone whould&#8217;ve told me 5 years back that I would be so uber techie I would have surely had a hearty laugh&#8230;cause at that time all the app and techie jargon was for geeks and nerds(who I love by the way&#8230;psst married to one <img src='http://s1.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' />  ).<span id="more-8275"></span></p>
<p>Today <a href="http://www.facebook.com/zeenatsyal" target="_blank">Facebook</a>, <a href="http://www.twitter.com/zeenatsyal" target="_blank">twitter</a>, <a href="https://plus.google.com/112224440634408353553" target="_blank">Google+</a>, <a href="http://in.linkedin.com/in/zeenatsyal" target="_blank">Linkedin</a> etc are part of our everyday lives. We connect with friends, we stay upto date on current events, we get latest product news, latest book and movie releases are instantly downloadable&#8230;.all through these social networks. And in many many cases, while in the eye of the storm, tweets and facebook status updates have saved lives.</p>
<h2>The world today is truly a global village.</h2>
<p><strong>Among all the positives of Social Networking&#8230;there are negatives too.</strong> While there are &#8216;not so emotionally balanced people&#8217; who try to take advantage of innocence there are also some &#8216;emotionally balanced&#8217; people who don&#8217;t spare language and feelings while voicing opinions online. While its a free world and everyone can say whatever they want, can&#8217;t it be said with a little more politeness?</p>
<p>I have been on these social networks for more than four years now. During this time I have devised ways to BE a Positive Social networking Butterfly <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  By that I mean to be a positively happy social networker rather than a ranting, constantly complaining whiny kind&#8230;.cause really there are way too many whiny ones out there.</p>
<h1><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>How to be a Positive Social Networking Butterfly</strong></span></h1>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>1) BE a friend, Have a friend: </strong></span></p>
<p>Making friends has never been easier than it is right now, mainly thanks to social networking sites. Just a few decades ago it was pretty tough to connect with people, unless you were the overly outgoing type able to make conversation with anyone at a party. The rise of mobile phones helped change this, connecting people in a new way, but then social networks sprang up and the whole idea of friendship changed once more and for ever. It’s entirely possible to have hundreds of friends on Facebook. They may not be friends you know on a personal level and spend time with in the real world on a weekly basis. But they’re friends nevertheless. There are several people I consider friends who I have never met – indeed, who I do intent to meet one day – but that doesn’t lessen the connection we have thanks to social networks.</p>
<p><strong>Being a Positive Social Networking butterfly means</strong> making new friends and keeping them. Infact I have reconnected with so many old school friends through social networks. I love seeing their families grow with new births and snippets of anniversary celebrations.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>2) Have an Empathetic Heart: </strong></span></p>
<p>We each spend a little too long talking about ourselves on social networking sites. Which is perfectly natural. We’re sharing our lives – the ups and downs, the twists and turns – with people we think will care. They generally do care, and will tell you so. They will listen to what you have to say, and help you deal with any problems you may be facing. If this isn’t the case then you may want to find new friends. The point is that by all of us sharing our experiences, both good and bad, on social networking sites, we’re able to empathize with each other. A friend may have gone through a similar problem you are now going through, and they will be able to inform you how they got through it. You’ll also be able to read for yourself how they came out of the situation, that this issue didn’t derail them, and that they’re perhaps better for the experience.</p>
<p><strong>Being a Positive Social Networking Butterfly means</strong> giving your helpful input and lending your experience positively. Social networking sites can act as a kind of group therapy session. You can be a catalyst in someones healing by simply being empathetic.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>3) Communicate freely and simply: </strong></span></p>
<p>Our time is being stretched thinner and thinner by work and family commitments, but social networking sites offer a chance to communicate in a speedy and efficient manner. Writing an update for Twitter takes all of 20 seconds, and with cross-posting over other social networks switched on, that update reaches everyone you want it to reach (and probably more besides) in an instant.</p>
<p><strong>Being a Positive Social Networking butterfly means</strong> using this mode of communication to spread happiness and good vibes. It means congratulating friends when they get engaged, married, have a baby, have a birthday etc&#8230;.no matter where you are geographically located. You can spread happy positive vibes right from your own little computer.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>4) Be the builder of Great relationships: </strong></span></p>
<p>It is true that social networking sites can lead to the breaking up of relationships. But there is another side to the tale, which is that people are moving onto other, perhaps better, relationships at the same time. Social networks can put you (back) in touch with those you have lots in common with, and that common ground is often the starting point for long-lasting relationships.</p>
<p><strong>Being a Positive Social Networking Butterfly means</strong> making an effort to foster friendships and create long and lasting bonds. I have found soul sisters on my Social Networking sites&#8230;which is such an uplifting feeling. When we make the effort to create more meaningful relationships, we are indeed connecting on a heart level. When hearts are connected  only love is spread.</p>
<p><span style="color:#993366;"><strong>5) Be a Like minded Sharer: </strong></span></p>
<p>As I have said earlier, social networking sites can help you find people you share interests with. Facebook, for example, asks you to list who and what you are into right from the start, meaning common ground with others is much easier to find. On Twitter you will follow those who have something to say that you’re interested in, making connections with like-minded individuals much easier than is sometimes possible offline. This does require sharing information, and giving up a certain amount of privacy in order to do so. Which is enough for some people to reject social networking outright. Keeping key personal information private(address&amp;phone number) is necessary, but likes and dislikes, interests and obsessions, thought and views, isn’t. And actually contributes to an open, highly communicative society.</p>
<p><strong>Being a Positive Social networking Butterfly means</strong> you belong and fit in simply because you are &#8216;in network&#8217; with like minded people who share with you similar interests. To be a happy and positive sharer adds icing to the fun Social Networking cake. Yes, this does mean you open up a little bit&#8230;but isn&#8217;t that awesome for your self confidence?!</p>
<h1><span style="color:#800080;">In Conclusion &#8211; Only Kindness Matters!</span></h1>
<p>I love how just a kind line from an old friend can bring a smile to my face.</p>
<p>Almost every week I make an effort to write a small 3 line message to the lovely friends on my social networks. In the private note I tell them how their being there has helped me and how much I appreciate them. This is my personal Positive Social Networking Butterfly habit. Make it yours <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  I know from experience how satisfying this practice can be.</p>
<p>There is far too much negativity around us everyday&#8230;if we can make Social Networking about spreading positive vibes and good cheer it can be another great step in healing the world as we know it.</p>

<p>As I stood in my little kitchen preparing dinner for my family, it suddenly dawned on me &#8220;Four Years! Its been four years. I have been blogging for so long. wow!&#8221; Then the mind completely on autopilot goes to where it all began.<span id="more-8410"></span></p>
<p>My little girl had just turned two and was a joyous handful(still is!). I was slowly getting back to work finding the balancing act of work and home very overwhelming&#8230;when a dear friend suggested starting a blog. &#8220;But why?&#8221; I asked her. And she immediately responded &#8220;The world needs what only YOU have.&#8221; This friend was a blogger/writer/corporate diva. I had counseled her out of a sticky emotional situation and thought she is just flattering me. Four years back blogging was next to invisible in India and was just kind of picking up in some other countries. I took it on as a silly experiment. I thoughts to myself, &#8220;Alright so I will start a blog. Whats the worst that can happen? Noone will read it&#8230;but then hey I already expect that.&#8221;</p>
<p>Ha! The jokes on me now <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  Cause not only did I get a good response to the actual writing(which I never thought I had IN me) I was growing spiritually and learning so much in the process of it all.</p>
<h1><strong><span style="color:#800080;">Inhaling Calm, Exhaling Love</span></strong></h1>
<p>The one thing I heard all my life from all those near and dear to me&#8230;&#8221;You are SO patient.&#8221; While I might have developed patience in the experiences of life, by no means was I of calm mind.</p>
<p>Starting this blog, writing every line in every blog post here, every interaction, each and every soul connection, every <a href="http://twitter.com/zeenatsyal" target="_blank">tweet, retweet</a>, comment, <a href="http://facebook.com/positiveprovocations" target="_blank">like, share,</a> email and above all the love that overflowed my heart over these past four years have instilled in me a Calm. A calm that comes when right in between that oh so deep meditative state.</p>
<p>So you see, in all its reality, I am Inhaling Calm and Exhaling love because this blog made it possible. Your presence made it possible. I am constantly amazed and mesmerized by the love I feel in this blogging art form.</p>
<p><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>BLISSFULLY POSITIVE</strong></span></p>
<p>Every year this month I release an Ebook which I offer free to every Email Subscriber. This year will be a bit different. This year I am writing a book for my little Positive Provocations heaven and the world too! Yes, &#8220;Blissfully Positive&#8221; is where my energies are being spent these days. There are still three ebooks which will forever remain free to every subscriber here, but now as I exhale love some more, I feel like I need to spread my wings. God willing, the book will be ready for release my July/August this year. You will ofcourse get the first preference.</p>
<h1><span style="color:#800080;">My Simple Mission</span></h1>
<p>My mission with this blog and with my life in general is to “To ease human suffering through Positivity, Love and Happiness“<strong>.</strong> I want to be remembered as a person who shed light &amp; made a positive impact on the lives of others. This might well be my legacy.</p>
<p><a href="http://positiveprovocations.com/online-counseling/" target="_blank"><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>ONLINE COUNSELING:</strong></span></a> Over the past few months I have also relaunched my <a href="http://positiveprovocations.com/online-counseling/" target="_blank">Online Counseling service</a>. I offer online counseling by email, chat and skype. If I could help you heal and become more positive&#8230;it would be my honor and privilege. This is my passion, my purpose and my calling afterall <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>As I head into another year of blogging/helping/healing &#8230; and exhaling love, I feel nostalgic. I love how I was so excited when I started this little experiment and now I am <a href="http://www.devacoaching.com/2013/04/09/cracking-the-happy-code/" target="_blank">happy</a> and excited that this experiment is my purpose, my calling. I always saw myself having a private healing practice. But I had no idea this blog would make it a world WIDE Private healing practice.  We <a href="http://www.poweredbyintuition.com/2012/09/16/why-meditation-is-the-spiritual-gateway-to-growth/" target="_blank">create</a> our very own limits. My choice was to flow with life and not limit myself and that created limitless possibilities for me.</p>
<h1><span style="color:#800080;">Love &amp; Gratitude</span></h1>
<p>I thank my Diva Blogger friend for nudging me into this gorgeous art form. I know she isn&#8217;t blogging anymore cause she is knee deep in diapers and baby cuteness, but you know who you are and I am forever grateful.</p>

<p>Almost always when a relationship ends, one person tends to shed it faster, while the other wades through the pain and grief of parting.</p>
<p>Your response to this parting depends on your personality type and state of dependence on your partner. It can also be impacted by the manner in which the parting happened. Did one unexpectedly walk out of the relationship while the other was unprepared? Or, was it a slow and helpless falling out of love on both sides? Did one cheat or hurt the other in any way? Was there respect in the relationship?</p>
<p><strong>If the break up is for the right reasons it helps.</strong> If two partners decide to break off to move on to more positive and fulfilling stuff, the parting is likely to be amicable. However, if one partner walks out seeking to hurt or punish the other, the parting and subsequent interaction is bound to be acrimonious and painful for both.<span id="more-8393"></span></p>
<h3><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>In order to have a peaceful after, it’s important to weed out the negativity along with the relationship.</strong></span></h3>
<p>For the sake of the relationship and earlier shared love, it is an absolutely necessity on the break-up pair to ensure the impact on the other is minimal. Some people find it helps to have a Transition Relationship around the time of a break up. Almost always in a break up, one person has found someone else to love, while the other is dwelling under disbelief and grief.</p>
<p>Whoever is hurt the most may attract such a temporary relationship. It is commonly looked upon as a “relationship on the rebound.” However, I prefer to look upon a transition affair as a<em>helpful hand Destiny extends</em> to get us through a difficult period. And since such help is needed for just a while, these relationships, by their very nature, are short lasting.</p>
<h3><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>In the midst of the grief<strong> the most critical thing to remember</strong> is that time heals all.</strong></span></h3>
<p>A time will come when the tears dry up, the heartache stops and what remains is a regret for what could have been. Unless of course you have reason not to let go that last link with the relationship.</p>
<p>You will move on and stops grieving, no matter how sharp and unnerving the parting. Knowing this as a reality in the middle of your tragedy helps. And what helps more than anything else is if both partners accord each other due respect and make an effort to help make the parting easier.</p>
<h3><span style="color:#800080;"><strong>You cannot predict or dictate how a relationship ends.</strong></span></h3>
<p>But you can certainly <strong>choose</strong> to let go of it with dignity. For this, it is important to first accept that the relationship has actually ended. The support of friends and family is something that should be actively sought to help tide over the worst of the crisis.</p>
<p>When a relationship is on the breaking point, tempers can be mercurial; try and avoid getting into fights, and make some allowances for the other partner’s irrational words and actions; it will help you retain your sanity.</p>
<p>Although you might have moved into a new relationship, try not  to flaunt it in front of your ex or mutual friends; it can hurt like nothing else. Try and give your relationship a closure. It is important to talk as well as to listen, to discuss and together try to understand rationally and without emotion what went wrong. Also, inject a positive note by thinking of all the things you can do once you are free. Plan your days in a manner that doesn’t allow you time for brooding.</p>
<p>Staying away from reminders of happy times spent with your ex is a good idea, at least for a while. Those memories will bring a smile later, currently they will only make you miserable. Do not try to remain friends at least not at this stage it’s unnatural when you are hurting and can perhaps come later.</p>
<p>When handled carefully on both sides, a break-up though still painful, can at least cease to be a lifelong trauma. <em>And perhaps when you look back in the autumn of life, it can just be a sweet sorrow. .</em></p>

<p><strong>What is your definition of happiness? Do you think you need to be successful to be happy?</strong></p>
<p>I am sure you’ve caught yourself a time or two saying things like, “I’ll be happy when I lose 5 kgs,” or “I’ll be happy when I find Mr./Mrs. Right,” or “I’ll be happy when I have my dream home,” or “I’ll be happy when my husband/wife changes his/her attitude.”</p>
<p><strong>It does <em>not</em> really work like that. Does it!?!?<span id="more-8381"></span></strong></p>
<p>In my experience I have come to realize that, success follows happiness. Not the other way around. When we really feel happy things in our life begin to take a positive turn.</p>
<p>Just think about it – Is it easier to attract Mr./Mrs. Right with a look of sadness and doom on your face, or with a cheerful smile and bright outlook on life? Is it easier to live healthy and exercise when you’re miserable or when you’re feeling good?  Will you ever be able to afford that dream home when you’re so negative you can’t attract abundance? And as far as the husband/wife goes … is it possible that when you’re lighter and happier, people around you will seem easier to deal with and more fun to be around?</p>
<p>hmmm&#8230;.lots to think about eh <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  Dont worry.</p>
<p>Try something different. Make the decision to be happy NOW – you may very well find that you attract all that you want by first becoming happy, by simply deciding to do so.</p>

<p>1. Please accept yourself and love yourself – unconditionally. Practice extreme self-care and set healthy boundaries. Self-love is not selfish.</p>
<p>2. Just Stop resurfacing and rethinking the past. Don’t invest your energy in things you can’t go back and redo. Make peace with it. Get out of the past and into your life.</p>
<p>3. Do not make the mistake of comparing your life to others. Don’t try to walk in their shoes – you have no clue what their life’s journey is all about. Keep your feet in your own shoes and follow your own path. Discover your own life’s purpose.</p>
<p>4. Oh please oh please, don’t waste your precious time and energy on idle gossip.</p>
<p>5. Take a really good look around you. Who are you spending time with? Are they draining your energy? Clear out your heart space and physical space to make room for positive, like-minded people who will contribute to your life – not take away from it.</p>
<p>6. Laugh a lot, smile a lot and lighten up. Don’t take yourself so seriously. Life is more fun when we greet it with a smile.</p>
<p>7. Let go of the &#8220;what if&#8217;s&#8221;.
