In fear and faith - The Road to hell is paved with good intentions (symphonies)

So in fear and faith picked a few of favourite songs by asking fans on facebook and decided to make a symphonic version of it.

Anyone else shy as fuck?

2011-03-26T21:13:00.000+13:00

I'm just pissed off at myself because I've been madly in love with this one girl for around 2 years... I always had classes with her but I never said a word to her. And now my friend who is new to the school, just comes along out of nowhere and makes more progress with her in half an hour than I did in 2 years. And knowing this guy, he won't stop till she's his. Prom is coming up soon and I know I wont be getting with her by then but if she goes with him i'm gonna die of jealousy.

tl;dr: non musical related blog about me and how useless I am when it comes to love.

thanks for reading...........

Underrated Bands: Allele

2011-03-05T21:45:00.000+13:00

This band isn't exactly post hardcore or metalcore; more alt. rock but still, they are an awesome band and deserve a lot more recognition for their work. I'm a sucker for depressing, slow, love songs so thats why I love them even more :P

Scary Kids Scaring Kids - Self Titled album (2007)

2011-02-05T21:52:00.000+13:00

One of my favourite albums of all time, ever. This is the band and album that brought me into this genre and I could never be any more thankful than I am about this band. Too bad they split though (//wrist)

But yes, lets celebrate their talent and great music with (ironically enough) a free album download that I ripped off the original cd.

Last FM

Ok guys. I know this isn't really metal related, well at least not directly but I just have to share my love for this site.

What you do is you download its "scrobbler" which tracks your played tracks across your music player and publishes them to your profile. Using this information, you can find out similar bands/artists to the ones you like, events and all sorts of other cool stuff.

Thanks to this site I've discovered tons of under rated and unpopular bands which I love and I probably wouldve never found out them without it.

It also "scrobbles" from your ipod, phone, etc. So your music can always be tracked.

Pretty cool huh?

Asking Alexandria Life Gone Wild EP! Download link!

6 - Breathless

http://www.mediafire.com/?j68on9kq516ayyy

Even though most of the tracks aren't really original, it is still great work of an amazing band and I love the skid row covers.

Totally in love with Emery right now!

2011-01-31T02:11:00.000+13:00

Ok so i was looking for some new bands to get into when last.fm recommended me Emery. I thought "why the hell not" and streamed a few of their songs on youtube to see what they were like. I was instantly in love with them and was dumbfounded at how I had not heard of them sooner.

^ The song that got me obsessed with them =]

In fear and faith vocalist (screamer) quits?

2010-12-30T11:21:00.000+13:00

Ok I'm really late on this but wow, Cody quit?

There I was just on the last.fm page and I notice a guy talking about how he quit and what he said. So I did a quick google search and apparently this is what he said on his Facebook:

"I have left In Fear And Faith. I will not tell you why because its none of your business. Nice meeting you all. Buy whatever CD they come out with next. Scott has a better voice than any of these other shitty bands out there. If you live in SD lets hang out. Please don't talk shit cause its a pain to go to your home page and delete you. GO CHARGERS."

Hmm as much as I like the band I really don't like this guys attitude. He was a talented screamer but after seeing this and his behaviour at concerts... maybe this is for the best.

What is Post Hardcore?

2010-12-28T18:56:00.000+13:00

Often a confused genre, especially to those who are new to it.

IN MY OPINION, your typical post hardcore song has "screamed" verses, clean vocal choruses with the occasional breakdown. The guitar in the song is sometimes "punky", sometimes really heavy, sometimes in between; depending on the band.

There are lots of different types of post hardcore bands though, bands like Emarosa, Saosin, Thursday are usually considered "post hardcore" despite not/barely having screams in their songs.

Alternatively, some bands have songs with alot more deeper, crazier i guess you can say; screaming with some really heavy guitar... while still being considered post hardcore.

Also, post hardcore bands tend to have singers with really high voices. I guess thats one of the deciders. for example, The Devil Wears Prada is considered post hardcore, but if you took away their singing... I don't think I would consider them post hardcore, or not really for that matter.

Well its a very open genre I guess you can say. Some people will agree or disagree with this post, thats definitely understandable considering there are so many factors contributing to whether or not a band is post hardcore.

tl;dr: I think post hardcore bands have high voiced clean vocals, screamed verses/choruses and punky/heavy instrument sounds

So, what do you think about this? What do you think makes a band post hardcore or not?

Thanks for reading. =]

Yashin - Somewhat unknown yet awesome band

2010-12-26T23:48:00.000+13:00

Yashin is a post hardcore band from Scotland, even though they are unsigned at the moment; they are one of the most popular bands to come out of Glascow, Scotland. They're quite unknown even though they are a great band and i found out about them through Last.Fm

Heres one of my favourites from them as well as their debut video =]

A great Post hardcore/metalcore band just starting off
