I must admit, stamp and postcard making is addicting. So here’s a stamp I made from a photo I took in 2008…It pays to have all photos stored, you just won’t know when you’ll use it again.

And yes, this was done via Picnik’s free service. Make yours before they take the site down…

Nuremberg/Nürnberg

If there’s one thing good about Picnik closing (no, I’m still not happy about it despite this claim), it would be the fonts being free for now until April. For this Nuremberg postcard I used the FF Tartine Script and faded it out a bit. I also used Picnik’s frame tool and because most of the features are free I also used the Postage stamp to create a stamp from the same photo…now I can send Maxicards!

About Nuremberg: it is a city in the German state of Bavaria, in theadministrative region of Middle Franconia. Situated on the Pegnitz river and the Rhine–Main–Danube Canal, it is located about 170 kilometres (110 mi) north of Munich and is Franconia’s largest city. Its old fortifications are still up until now. Would show photos I took soon.

Picnik Closing

Might have been the shock that kept me from posting this. Picnik, one of my favorite online tools in photo editing is closing. Thank Google for “killing” them. It is said that picnik will be incorporated to Google+, that’s perhaps to make it more appealing to users. (Do you even login on your google+ account?)

To divulge; I use picnik to put frames and text for the postcards I make. I really love those features. A click here and there and voila, your postcard is done! There’s Photoshop of course but Picnik is my first choice because it’s much easier to use. *sigh* Here’s hoping that google makes the most out of Picnik’s features.
