This Trinity Stitch Tunic by Valentina Devine is one of four sweaters in the “Outrageous Color” section of the magazine. All four are fun, over sized sweaters worked in vibrant colors. I like the happy honey color of this one and the way the stitch pattern makes an interesting collar.

This sweater is knit using Noro Karuta, a 40% Silk, 30% Cotton, 30% Wool blend with approximately 165 yards per 100g. Karuta is new this season and is available in 8 tonal colorways.

This sweater is for an intermediate knitter and is sized for finished bust of 39 (43, 50, 54, 59)”.

Greetings, Just a quick note on the happenings at Warm Hearts Yarn: We have a variety of classes and knit-alongs planned for the month of May, with more planned for the beginning of the month so as not to interfere with graduations, Memorial Day vacations, and end-of-school activities. Please see our calendar for individual class details. Starting after Memorial Day, Warm Hearts Yarn will be opening a half hour earlier to better serve our customers. We will be open Tuesday-Friday from 10:30am-6:00pm and Saturday and Monday from 10:30am-3:00pm. We will continue to be closed on Sundays. Our Open Stitching Group is also changing from Tuesdays to Wednesdays, but will be at the same times of 4:00-6:00pm. To help celebrate Mother's Day we have an area in the shop of items that are $5 and under, as well an area with items $10 and under. Our thoughts are to be able to help children pick out gifts for their mothers, grandmothers, teachers, etc. with just a few dollars. We're also happy to help with the wrapping! Oodles of Yarn and Bead Gallery is bringing Nicky Epstein, a celebrated knitting author, designer,
and knitting teacher, to Santa Fe to teach a workshop March31-April1 at Vanessie's.
The workshop will consist of three classes:Edgings and Embellishments, Intarsia and Fair Isle,
and Knitting Block Party. There will be a reception with book signing and design presentation with
Epstein from 6 to 8pm March 31. To register for classes, contact Bev Ungar at Oodles Yarn

Hello All, During this time of turbulent weather that we call spring, Warm Hearts Yarn is offering many classes in a variety of genres. For the months of March and April we have classes for beginners, sweater classes, mixed-media classes, and time slots for one-on-one instruction. Please check out the Warm Hearts Yarn calendar (or attached class listing) for detailed information! I would also like to direct your attention to a survey regarding store hours on the Warm Hearts Yarn homepage. We would appreciate your feedback on how we may best serve you, our customers, in regards to our store hours. New yarn, as well as patterns and books, gift items, mixed media/stamping supplies are now at the store--be sure to come by and check out what is new! March and April Classes Warm Hearts Yarn Stitching Group Come and join us for our community stitching group—beginners are welcome! This group is FREE and meets every Tuesday evening from 4-6p.m. Hope to see you there! Children’s Knitting Class This class is geared towards children ages eight through twelve. Each participant will learn how to make a garter-stitched hat. Instructors: Katie Brousseau and Doris Prokop Fee: $25 includes all necessary supplies (yarn, needles, pattern) Dates: 1:30-2:30p.m. on Wednesdays, March 7th, 14th and 21st Limit: 8 participants Knitting SOS and UFO Need some help or just inspiration? The finished project can be used as a candle mat, display or maybe even a Mug Rug for your favorite beverage you enjoy while crafting. Instructor: Rosanna Anderson Fee: $20 Date: Wednesday, March 14^th Time: 4-6p.m. Sign up will close March 6; class limit: 6 Holiday Mixed Media Collage* New Series! This month: Autumn/Halloween This series will feature Mixed Media Collage canvases with new classes focusing on a different holiday. Each kit will contain: canvas, modpodge, theme appropriate papers and tissues, and a brush. There will be a selection of embellishments, rub-ons and textural elements that are theme specific as well. Please bring some paper cutting scissors. YEP! there WILL be dies that are specific to Halloween and Autumn. SQUEAL!!! It is going to so much fun! We will decide on a Finishing class during the class for those who want to further embellish. Instructor: Rosanna Anderson Fee: $20 Date: Thursday, March 22^nd Time: 5-8:30p.m. Please sign up by March 16^th; Class Limit: 6 Beginning Knitting Class* This class is for those wishing to learn how to knit! In this class we will cover casting on, the knit stitch, binding off, as well as other useful knitting information. Each participant will be able to set up a one-on-one follow-up session with the instructor to answer any further questions. Instructor: Katie Brousseau Fee: $25 includes ALL supplies Date: Saturday, March 24^th; Time: 1-3p.m. Beginning Mixed Media Collage This a series to introduce you to the wonderful world of color and artistic fun called Mixed Media collage. You will need to bring a good pair of scissors to cut paper and wear messy clothes. Your KIT will include: canvas, mod podge, brush, a variety of paper and tissues, patterns. You will also have paint, rub-ons, ink, clear stamps, embossing powders, etc. to further embellish your art. We will decide on a Finishing class during the class for those who want to further embellish. Instructor: Rosanna Anderson Fee: $20 Date: Thursday, March 29^th Time: 5-8:30 pm Please sign up by MAR 22; Class Limit: 6 Make Your Own Stamps!* In this class you will learn to make your own personally designed stamps. The biggie project will be featuring the a kit that has everything you need to cut your own stamp. There will be other methods that will knock your socks off with FUN!!! Kit includes EVERYTHING you will need to put "your own stamp" on things from now on!this class involves sharp tools and is not recommended for young children. Participants will be instructed on chart reading, a skill that is especially useful when reading patterns written in foreign languages! Instructor: Katie Brousseau Fee: $15 includes pattern Date: Saturday, April 14^th; Time: 1-3p.m. Primitive Rug Hooking "something a little whirly" Lets do a little something whirly and free form with our mini rugs. This free form class will allow you some creative freedom and really let you get the "hook" of things. YOU will have a hand in the designing, drawing out and producing your own piece of art AND heritage! Though not well known this is an addicting needleart that you will be hooked on.. :) Come give it a try! Yu will just need an embroidery hoop at least 6 inches in diameter, though oval hoops will work well too! This is just to hold your piece taunt while you work. KIT INCLUDES: WOOL STRIPS, LINEN BURLAP AND PATTERN PAPER. If you need a Primitive Wool Hook they will be available for purchase in the CheerUps! Folkart Booth. Description Beginning Knitting One-to-One Pick a Dishcloth workshop or bring in your own project and I will give you one-to-one help in one hour blocks follow up included for workshops.

Knit and Purl Dishcloth – learn the purl stitch along with In this workshop you will learn how to do the purl stitch. We will also learn the knitting-on cast-on, basic purl bind-off, basic pattern reading, and slipping stitches.

Lace Dishcloth - In this workshop you will learn how to knit lace stitches. We will also learn the Single cast-on, suspended bind-off, and lace pattern reading.

Kathy made this wonderful headband/ear warmer - I did not get a picture of the button so if you are lucky enough to get to see it ask her to show it to you.

Jody’s grandmother had a pair of these that were crocheted. She asked Jody for another pair and Jody created a knit version. Very cool.
