Ok, I’m putting this up here for several reasons:

1. I’m getting tired of just making shop update posts
2. I promised some time ago to try and liven things up here with more personal anecdotes
3. I need to finish the clean-up on my weaving, cut it off the loom, and get it hung!

I started this wall hanging last year (I think it was in the fall) because I wanted to mimic a vintage hanging. Kind of a challenge finding the right yarns that weren’t too pricey and attempting to match the pattern but acknowledging this would be in no way a perfect copy. I’m pretty happy with it, and more than ready to start up on the next piece.

Anyway, this post is mostly supposed to serve as motivation to finally complete the darn thing! I’ll post after photos – I promise

Really pleased to announce the arrival of another new-to-the-lineup designer today. SAMMA is the delicate, architectural jewelry label by sculptor Hanna Sandin (you can read more about her artworks here & here). These are really special pieces that easily take an outfit to a new level

Brand new label this week! Sarafan + Duende is a knitwear label from the gals of Tel Aviv based Sarafan Showroom and knitwear designer Adva Bruner. Their debut SS 12 collection is all about a lacy mesh knit and soft leather piping and accents, and it’s obviously perfect for summer layering. I paired the tee with a bunch of other new spring items for our product shots because it’s so versatile. Anyway, hope you all have a great week!

All new SS 12 items from Correll Correll up on the shop today. The knit circle tee is back along with a really gorgeous ruby red silk dress, and the sisters’ classic colorwheel tee. Much like some of our other designers, the Correll sisters refine their themes and colourways every season, working intensively to perfect their dye treatments and expanding their colour palette gradually

The Dusen Dusen SS 12 collection has arrived at the shop this week! Ellen always comes up with the best prints each season – the Bugs print is my favourite of this collection. We’ve also stocked a couple of her signature backpacks in a paisley and grid print.

In other shop related news, we shot our SS 12 Lookbook over the weekend. We weren’t sure we’d have time to, but we managed (mostly because I always overbook myself-ha)! I brainstormed up something pretty different this go-around so stay tuned. We should have it up in the next couple of weeks. Two new arrivals this week! Faux/real channels a summery work-out vibe in their latest SS 12 collection with chunky, beach ball coloured neoprene accessories. Rachel Comey‘s back with the classic Hitch boot in beach sand coloured suede, and a very walkable platform sandal for the fast approaching warmer months

This week the shop has brand new S/S 12 arrivals from Osei-Duro including their footwear debut as well as a fresh update to their popular bogalon bag. The collection is full of soft silk and breezy dye treatments. Pretty much perfect summer essentials

Brand new line again this week everyone. Fiel is an LA based footwear company that produces some crazy comfortable shoes. Plus, I’m just really excited that we’re getting closer to sandal season and we’ve got three styles to choose from. Happy Monday!

Today we introduce two brand spanking new to the shop labels: Ursa Minor by Elizabeth Hudson & Cursive Design by Chicago designer Sarah Fox.

Elizabeth has been creating her own line since 2010 but the SS 12 season is her first offering it to retailers. I can’t tell you how utterly bowled over I was when she sent me her lookbook for this season. Her designs are anything but the same-old -they’re subtle, interesting, classic, and the workmanship is amazing. She not only drafts all of her own patterns but she sews every piece. Consider my mind blown. This is serious, quality work.

I first became acquainted with Sarah’s jewelry line via instagram. Yes, Instagram. Yes, I’m hooked. Anyway, her pieces have a relaxed, delicate geometry and are inspired by the natural world. She sources, dyes, and assembles all of her jewelry by hand, and I should mention – they’re very affordable. I paired both necklaces with a couple of Elizabeth’s pieces and some other coming-soon items.

I’m just super excited to be offering these two handmade lines now. Really, it’s what the shop is all about so definitely check it all out!
