1951 Dodge Power Wagon $37,300 [NJ] A truly rare find - This 1951 Dodge Power Wagon has been garaged nearly it’s entire life, and has no rust! It started out life as a utility truck (I think for Bell Telephone). After a time, it was acquired by the East Brunswick NJ Brookview Volunteer Fire Department, where it was converted and used as a Brush Truck for nearly 50 years. It was then acquired by my family and was repaired. The fire company bed was modified to remove the water tank, pump, and hose reel, and the sides cut down, and the whole truck was repainted. Warn hubs. PTO Winch works great. Custom puncture-proof steel gas tank. It retains many of the “modifications” imparted while driving through the woods to accomplish its fire-fighting mission! :-) Everything works presently, except the gas level gauge is not connected electrically. I bought it 4 years ago, and towed it down from northern CA. It has been sitting for about 15 years. Replaced all electronics on the engine, rebuilt entire brake system, including the booster. Rebuilt carb. Tires are one-year old. It has a 318 industrial engine, 5 speed manual transmission, and 6.80 gears. Top speed is about 45 mph. I have been using it for driving in a local car show and a couple dump runs. Truck is a true beast and requires some strength to drive it. Truck weighs 9,900 lbs unloaded. GVW is 20,000 lbs. Was purchased from a gentleman in Cody, WY who worked for Park County, WY. He indicated that the Dodge had been a fire truck in Clark, WY. It does have extra holes in the dash. Cab is pretty much rust free, except around some cab mounting bolts but don’t think it’s too serious. Truck was running when moved into storage approximately 7 years ago, but not since. Spare parts include NOS Selectro hubs ( 1 warn & 1 Dual A Matic on truck now), behind the seat gas tank from VPW, a LU-2 winch (free wheeling handle is stuck), and drive line for it from a 1963 W300.
