It is proven in the saheeh Sunnah that the Quran will intercede for those who read it at night, as Ahmad (6626) narrated from ‘Abd-Allah ibn ‘Amr that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"Fasting and the Quran will intercede for a person on the Day of Resurrection.
Fasting will say, ‘O Lord, I deprived him of his food and his desires during the
day, so let me intercede for him.’ And the Quran will say: ‘I deprived him of
his sleep at night so let me intercede for him.’ Then they will
intercede.” Narrated by Ahmad; classed as saheeh by al-Albani in Saheeh al-Jami’, no. 3882.

Narrated Abu Musa: The Prophet said"

"The example of a believer who recites the Qur’an is that of a citron (a citrus fruit) which is good in taste and good in smell. And the believer who does
not recite the quran is like a date which has a good taste but no smell.
And the example of an impious person who recites the Qur’an is that of Ar-Rihana
(an aromatic plant) which smells good but is bitter in taste. And the
example of an impious person who does not recite the quran is that of a
colocynth which is bitter in taste and has no smell.” (Book #93, Hadith # 649).

As is stated in the hadeeth narrated by ‘Abd-Allah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allah be pleased with them both), in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"Whoever recites ten aayaat (verses) in qiyaam will not be recorded as one of the forgetful. Whoever recites a hundred aayaat (verses) in qiyaam will be recorded as one of the devout, and whoever prays a thousand aayaat (verses) in qiyaam will be recorded as one of the muqantareen (those who pile up good deeds).” (Reported by Abu Dawood and Ibn Hibbaan. Every moment counts. Whatever you need to do for the next ten days to make the most in

Ibada

Good deeds

Reciting Quran

Dhikr

Making dua

rewards are going to be multiplied. No one knew about the importance of these days more than the prophet (saws). Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the last ten days of Ramadan began, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would stay up at night, wake his family and tie his lower garment tight. According to Ahmad and Muslim: he would strive hard in worship during the last ten nights of Ramadan as he did not do at other times.

If we lose this opportunity, we get our next opportunity next year – assuming we are still around and are in good health and shape to make use of it. Even if we are – we have the past years’ sins on our shoulders and life’s normal trials and tribulations to face the coming year. So, there is no better time to ask Allah to make all that easierNOW.

Get a Quran and recite as often as you can

If your sins are holding you to move forward, this is the time to get them forgiven

What to say on Laylat al-Qadr –

Get in the class of the Pious People

Finally...

source:http://www.iqrasense.com

Lailatul Qadr

In this blessed month of Ramadan, we have now come to the grand finale – the last ten days of Ramadan that are even more blessed than the rest of Ramadan. In it is a night that Quran tells us is better than 1000 months (yes, months – not days).

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

There has come to you Ramadan, a blessed month which Allah has enjoined you to fast, during which the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the rebellious devils are chained up. In it there is a night which is better than a thousand months, and whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived.” Narrated by al-Nasa’i, 2106; Ahmad, 8769. classed as saheeh by al-Albani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 999.

On the Night of Power pray to God with all your heart and He will definitely answer all your prayers. The Quran says : "Surely We revealed it (the Holy Quran) on the grand night. And what will make you comprehend what the grand night. The grand night is better than a thousand months. The angels and Gibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair, Peace! It is till the break of the morning." (97:1-5)

The Night of Power is full of blessings because the Eminent Quran descended in it. The Quran is peace by itself. It distinguishes between the good and evil and shows the path of eternal Peace and Bliss to all Mankind forever. This being so, the Night in which this Divine Book was sent down is worthy of great esteem. During this night, as explained in the verse quoted above, the Angels and the Heavenly spirit (Hazrat Gibreel Alai-his-Salam) descend. Their nearness to earth gives a spiritual luster to the hearts and souls of the believers. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) and the 12 Imams (A.S.) passed this night in prayer and worship of God.Those who pass his night in Prayer, experience an unimaginable bliss, a deep feeling of great pleasure as a result of immense heavenly blessings in this night.Recite the Holy Quran, seek Allah's forgiveness and pray for the good of this world as well as the hereafter.

Source: http://www.flickr.com/photos/firozeshakir/2881771397/

Ramadan Al Mubarak Du'a

Assalamu alaikum Brothers and sisters.

Here are the Du'as to be recited each day of the most blessed month of Ramadan. click the link below to have the du'a collection.

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'; Hope it would be useful for you epople.

Allah, the Most High, says,

{And let not those who covetously withhold of the gifts which Allah hath given them of His Grace, think that

it is good for them: Nay, it will be the worse for them: Soon it will be tied to their necks like a twisted

caller, on the Day of Judgment. To Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is

Well-Acquainted with all that ye do.}

                                                                                                                                 ( AI-Imran: 180)

The Qur'an also states,

{And woe to those who pay not Zakat and who even deny the Hereafter. For those who believe and work

deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail.}

                                                                                                   (Fussilat: 6-7)

Allah, the Almighty, says,

{And there are those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah: announce unto them a most grievous chastisement. This is the (treasure) which ye hoarded for yourselves: taste ye, then, the (treasures) ye hoarded.}

                                                                                                                (At- Tawbah: 34-35)

The Prophet (pbuh) said,

"A wealthy person who has got gold and silver, but does not pay the Zakat due on the same, (should know that) his gold and silver will be melted on the Day of Judgment and Converted into slabs which will then be heated in the fire of Hell, and then has sides, his forehead, and his back will be branded therewith. When these slabs will get cold, they will be heated up once more in the furnace of the Hell, the branding will be continued throughout the day, the duration of which will be equal to fifty thousand years, and the cases of all the people will have been decided by this time and they will be shown their way either to the Hell or to

Paradise.”1

It was related that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,

"There are three people who will enter the Fire: An oppressive leader, a wealthy person who does not pay Allah's right from his wealth and a proud poor.”2

Ibn ' Abbas, (may Allah be pleased with him), said, "Whoever has enough property to make pilgrimage orto pay Zakat but he does not will ask Allah to return (to this world) when dying." Someone said, "Ibn 'Abbas, fear Allah, No one asks for return but the unbelievers." Then Ibn ' Abbas read Allah's saying,

{And spend something (in charity) out of the substance which We have bestowed on you, before death should come to any of you and he should say, ' O my Lord! Why didst thou not give me respite for a little while I should then have given (largely) in charity, and I should have been one of the doers of good.}

There is no Zakat on (gold or silver) jewelry that is for permissible use, but if it is prepared for uses of renting or as an article which is pennanent acquisition then Zakat is obligatory. Zakat is also obligatory for trade.

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, related that the Prophet (pbuh) said,

"Whoever is made wealthy by Allah and does not pay the Zakat of his wealth will be made like a baldheaded poisonous male snake with two black spots over its eyes. The snake will encircle his neck and bite his cheeks and say, "I am your treasure " Then he recited the following verse, {And definitely let not the ones who are miserly with what Allah has given them,' no indeed, it is an evil (thing) for them. They shall have annulated (about their necks) whatever they were miserly with, on the Day of Resurrection and to Allah is the inheritance of the heavens and the earth,' and Allah is Ever Cognizant of whatsoever you do}

                                                                                                               (AI-Imran: 180)

In his commentary on Allah's saying

{On the Day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell, and with it will be branded their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, -This is the (treasures) which ye hoarded for yourselves: taste ye, then the (treasures) ye hoarded}

                                                                                                               (Al- Tawbah: 35)

Ibn Mas'ud said, “Dirham and Dinar will not be put in his skin collectively but separately and will

cover him totally.”

It was related that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,

"Five (actions) entail five (punishments)" They asked, "What does it mean?" He said, "Whenever some people break a covenant, Allah will entice their enemy to attack them. If they rule in other than Allah's law, they will be plagued with poverty. If indecency (adultery) prevails them, there will be more deaths. If they give short scales or weights they will be deprived of tillage and will suffer the barren years, if they do not pay Zakat, there will be no rain.”

Muhammad Ibn Yusuf Al-Feriabi said, II Once I went out accompanied with a group of my friends to visit Abu Sann'an, may Allah have mercy on him. When we entered his house and sat down for a while, he said, “Let us visit a neighbor whose brother has recently died to console him.” Then, we all went to the man but we found him wailing and impatient for the death of his brother. Accordingly, we tried to console him but of no avail. We admonished him that death is an inevitable end. Then, he said, I know. I just weep for my brother’s death abode and the torture he is in. We asked, “Did Allah enable you to know the Unseen?” He said,” Of course not, but when I buried him and people went away I sat down by his grave. Meanwhile, I heard a sound of distress. I heard someone crying.” Oh, they left me alone to suffer the torture. I was

praying, and fasting. Then, I wept and out of pity I began to snatch the grave to see him. The grave was full of fire and I noticed a circle of fire around his neck. Out of pity I extended my arm to extricate him from such circle of fire. No sooner did I extend my hand than my fingers were burnt. Then, the man showed us his burnt hand. He went on saying, I hoarded the earth over him again and went away. Thus, how can I keep patient after I have seen how he is. We, then, asked, "What did your brother do in this world?" He replied.“He did not pay Zakat." We said, "This is in accordance with Allah's saying, {And not those who covetously withhold of the gifts which Allah hath given them of His Grace, think that it is good for them: Nay, it will be the worse for them: Soon it will be tied to their neck like a twisted collar on the day of Judgment.} (Al-Imran: 180)

Your brother, therefore, is being tortured in advance in his grave until the Day of Judgment.

Afterwards, we went ahead to Abu Dharr., the Prophet's companion, and told him this man's story. We also said, "When a Jew or a Christian dies, we do not notice them suffering like that," He said; "They are undoubtedly in the Hell-fire. Allah just shows you the abode of the Muslims to learn the lesson. Allah, the Most High, says,{Now have come to you, from your Lord proofs (to open your eyes): If any will see, it will be for (the good of) his own soul: If any will be blind it will be to his own (harm) I am not (here to watch over your doing.)} (AI-An' am: 104)

Why Islamic Fasting Is Different Than Other Types of Fasting.

Why Islamic Fasting Is Different Than Other Types of Fasting (ref. 7)

As compared to other diet plans, in fasting during Ramadan, there is no malnutrition or inadequate calorie intake since there is no restriction on the type or amount of food intake during Iftaar or Sahar. This was confirmed by M.M.Hussaini (ref. 6) during Ramadan 1974 when he conducted dietary analysis of Muslim students at the University of North Dakota State University at Fargo . He concluded that calorie intake of Muslim students during fasting was at two thirds of NCR- RDA.

Fasting, in Ramadan is voluntarily undertaken. It is not a prescribed imposition from a physician. In the hypothalamus part of the brain there is a center called "lipostat" which controls the body mass. When severe and rapid weight loss is achieved by starvation diet, the center does not recognize this as normal and, therefore re-programs itself to cause weight gain rapidly once the person goes off the starvation diet. So the only effective way of losing weight is slow, self-controlled, and gradual weight loss by modifying our behavior, and the attitude about eating while eliminating excess food. Ramadan is a month of self-regulation and self-training in terms of food intake thereby causing hopefully, a permanent change in lipostat reading.

In Islamic fasting, we are not subjected to a diet of selective food only (i.e. protein only, fruits only etc). An early breakfast, before dawn is taken and then at sunset fast is broken with something sweet i.e. dates, fruits, juices to warrant any hypoglycemia followed by a regular dinner later on.

Additional prayers are prescribed after the dinner, which helps metabolize the food. Using a calorie counter, I counted the amount of calories burnt during extra prayer called Traveeh. It amounted to 200 calories. Islamic prayer called Salat uses all the muscles and joints and can be placed in the category of a mild exercise in terms of caloric out put.

Ramadan fasting is actually an exercise in self discipline. For those who are a chain smoker, or nibble food constantly, or drink coffee every hour, it is a good way to break the habit, hoping that the effect will continue after the month is over.

Psychological effect of Ramadan fasting are also well observed by the description of people who fast. They describe a feeling of inner peace and tranquility. The prophet has advised them "If one slanders you or aggresses against you, tell them I am fasting". Thus personal hostility during the month is minimal.

* Islam quiz 3

Try the third part of our Islam quiz and gain knowledge about Quran

* On which night was the Qur'an first revealed?

*Through whom was the Qur'an revealed?

* The Last Day

*Read this story

I read this incident and I want to share it with all my friends. Spend 2minutes to read this...

A teenage girl about 17 named Aisha had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Aisha asked Allah to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for Allah's protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been attacked in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking Allah for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story.The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a line up to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Aisha for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. Aisha was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, 'Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men (Angels) walking on either side of her. ' Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're never alone. Did you know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God?
Allah is always there in your heart and loves you no matter what.....and if you stand up 4 him he will stand up for you.

Islam Quiz -2

This is the second question for Islam Quiz

Where was the Qur'an revealed first?

*Your mother

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: A person came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: Who among the people is most deserving my companionship (of a kind treatment from me?) His past sins are forgiven.

2. He is assured paradise.

Then, as these things have been achieved he should now increase his good deeds to the extent possible. Don’t you see what Umar radiyallahu anhu did when he had committed the mistake of arguing with the Prophet sallallahu alaihe wasallam, at Hudaibiyya. He used to offer special acts of worship, (like fasting, almsgiving, etc.), to atone for that sin. The following hadith should also be considered.

"He who commits some evil deeds, and then turns to doing good deeds is like the man who had on him a tight-fitting coat of mail made of steel, so tight, it would almost choke him. Then he did a good deed and it opened up a little more until it became so loose as to fall off to the ground."

So you see how good deeds release a man from the clutches of past sins and liberate him from the tension that they cause. Let me at this point offer you the abridged version of an incident, which is laden with lessons.

Ibn Mas’ood radiyallahu anhu says a man came to the Prophet sallallahu alaihe wasallam and said, "O Apostle of Allah. I found a woman in a garden and did everything to her except having intercourse: I kissed her and hugged her and so on, but I didn’t go beyond this. So judge me as you wish." The Prophet of Allah sallallahu alaihe wasallam said nothing in reply and the man went away. Upon this Umar radiyallahu anhu remarked, "Allah would have kept it a secret if he had kept it a secret." The Prophet sallallahu alaihe wasallam in the direction the man had gone and said, "Call him back." When they called him back, he recited to him the following verse, "Establish Prayers at the two ends of the day and early part of the night. Indeed good deeds wipe out evil ones. And this (Qur’aan) is a reminder unto the mindful."
(Qur'aan 11:114)

Upon hearing this, Mu’adh radiyallahu anhu (and according to another report Umar radiyallahu anhu) said, "O’ Apostle of Allah sallallahu alaihe wasallam, is this for him alone or is it (this ruling) common?"

he replied: "No, it is common."

What Should I Do After I Have Sinned?

Someone may ask, "How do I go about repenting from a sin?" Do I just say, "I repent." and that’s it, or is there anything to be done after that?

Two things should immediately be done. The first is an act of the heart, to sincerely regret the sins of the past. The second is an act of the body, to bring up some good deeds, starting two cycles of prayer of repentance. The following is a hadith in support:

Hazrat Abu Bakr radiyallahu anhu, says, "I heard the Holy Prophet sallallahu alaihe wasallam say, ‘There isn’t a man who, when he commits a sin, rises, makes ablution, and offers two rak’ats of prayers, but Allah forgives his sins.’ Then the Holy Prophet sallallahu alaihe wasallam recited the verse, ‘Those (are the true believers) who, when they commit an evil deed, or wrong their souls, remember Allah, and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who but Allah forgives sins? They do not insist upon the sins they have committed, and they know (that Allah is forgiving)."

( Qur'aan 3:135)

There are other reports that describe more in detail how these two cycles of prayers of repentance must be offered.

For instance:

1. There isn’t a man who makes ablution (and does it well, but sins fall off the limbs of the body with the last drop of water. And doing the ablution well includes saying the Bismillah in the beginning, and some other prayer words after it such as:

"I bear witness that there is no deity save Allah , the one, and I also bear witness that Muhammad is his slave and messenger."

"O’ Allah! make me of the repenting, and make me of the purified."

"O’ Allah! with praises to you I bear witness that there is no deity but you. I seek your forgiveness and turn to you in repentance."

2. Offer two rak’ats of prayer. Performs them in full presence of mind and heart. Commits no mistake within the prayers. Does not speak to himself within them. Recites the prayer-words in them well and in humility. Then seeks Allah’s forgiveness.
