Star wars and Harry Potter: Its all about two sagas

What is common between Star Wars And Harry Potter franchises?

Both were a saga, one is a bunch of six movies made in 28 years, other is a bunch of 8 movies 7 books made in 10 years.

Is it? No, There are more than one similarities in both two franchises.... let me tell them to you

Star Wars There are two parts of star wars saga,

the original trilogy: which tells the story of Luke Skywalker and his fight against empire and it's evil villain Darth Vader, And his adventures with his friend Han Solo and His twin sister princess leia organa. This triology spans star wars 4-5 and 6 which is released between 1977 and 1983. Here is the synopsis of original trilogy edited from wikipedia

In Star wars 4: Princess Leia is kidnapped by Darth Vader, but before being kidnapped she records a message meant to be delivered to Obi-Wan Kenobi in a droid called r2d2 and with a robot c3po she sends them to a nearby planet Tatooine, Luke acquires them and evetually delivers the message to obi-wan kenobi, who is a jedi knight. Kenobi trains Luke and reveals that he also trained his father anakin who killed by wader, they hire a pirate han solo and with help of rebel alliance they attack on death star made by wader, Luke and Solo can escape with leia and kenobi is killed in a duel with vader

In Star Wars 5: Luke finds master yoda, an old and most wise Jedi Master and continues his training. Meanwhile to trap Luke ,Vader again kidnaps and freezes Han and others, while in a duel Vader reveals that he was Lukes father and he wants Luke to join the dark side

In Star Wars 6: Luke returns to yoda who's dying. Yoda reveals that Vader is his father and later a spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi reveals the same thing with additional info that Leia is his twin sister. Kenobi also says that he must face his father to become a Jedi. There is a duel again between Luke and Anakin, with emperor Palpatine watching them, in the duel Luke declares his alliance with Jedis and refuses to join his father. Palpatine attempts to kill luke but saved by Vader. Vader than kills Palpatine in duel and because of his wounds Vader dies in Luke's arms.

This makes end of sequel trilogy and 16 years later in 1999 Lucas started Prequel Trilogy :telling the back story of Anakin Skywalker (Vader).

in Star Wars 1: It says the story of Anakin skywalker as a child. Young Obi Wan Kenobi and his Master Qui-Gon Jinn discover him during an escape and also discovers his geniusness. This story also tells birth of the robots c3po and r2d2, both Jinn and Kenobi brings anakin to master yoda, believing that according to a prophecy he can bring balance to FORCE. Master Yoda senses his future is clouded by fears. In a duel Qui-Gon Jinn is killed by Darth Maul and Yoda allows Kenobi to train anakin

In Star Wars 2 and 3: We see anakin is falling into dark side, here we are introduced to sith lord Palpatine who was senator. Anakin falls in love with Princes Padme Amidala and eventually marries him, meanwhile Palpatine is secretly brainwashing Anakin to fall into the dark side. Anakin sees in a dream that Amidala is dying while giving birth to his children. Palpatine tells anakin that she can be saved if he surrenders himself to dark side. Palpatine declares himself an emperor and Anakin-now darth wader-start to kill everyone from Jedi order. In a duel with Kenobi, vader is defeated and put to death beside a lava flow. However, Palpatine arrives shortly afterward and saves Vader, putting him into a black, mechanical suit of armor that keeps him alive. At the same time, Padmé dies while giving birth to twins Luke and Leia. The twins are hidden from Vader and are not told who their real parents are.

And Star Wars 4, starts exactly 19 years after the event of Star Wars 3......

- Rowling wrote epilogue of Harry Potter taking place 19 years after the events of deathly hallows

Got the first similarity?

Here are more similarities.

- In Original Trilogy and In Potter series both Hero and Villain belong to same group. In Star Wars Both Vader and Luke were Jedis, and Counting Hogwarts as group both Voldemort and Harry belong to Hogwarts.

- In Original Trilogy and In Potter series both the heros are handed over to their relatives here luke is handed to his step-uncle and aunt and Harry is handed over to his maternal aunt. Though Luke was raised nicely compared to potter

- In Original Trilogy and In Potter series, both the protagonists have Two friends who are in love with each other In star wars Han Solo and Princess Leia and in Harry Potter Ron and Hermione... Bondage between friends is more emphasised in potter while in star wars it was merely a sub plot

- In Prequel Trilogy and Harry Potter the protagonist is linked with a prophecy. In star wars there was a prophecy that someone will bring balance into force, and Qui-Gon Jinn and Kenobi believes this prophecy is about Anakin. In harry potter There was a prophecy that a half blood boy born in seventh month will kill the dark lord.And Voldemort believes this was about Harry.

- In Both Star wars and Potter Sith Lords can be compared to Death eaters and Jedis Can be compared to Order Of Phoenix how ever power and number of people are different. Order Of Phoenix was not in ultimate power anytime but Jedis guided the galatic republic. Leaving Star wars expanded universe, there are only two known sith lords(Plapatine and Vader) while there are many death eaters.

- In both SW (Star Wars) and HP(Harry Potter) the main group is guided by en elderly respectable man who died before the events of the series complete In SW Jedi Order is guided by Master Yoda (more than 800 years old, died in start of SW 6) in HP Hogwarts is guided by Albus Dumbledore(more than 150 years old, died in end of HP6)

- Composer John Williams was part of both the film series. He scored music for all star wars movies, for harry potter series. The starting music in all movies was composed by him, moreover he composed score for first three potter movies. He's regular music composer for Steven Spielberg and George Lukas.
[Trivia: For Harry Potter Spielberg was first choice as a director, he insisted potter to be a live action series and wanted Haley Joel Osment (Sixth sense and AI fame child) to play potter but warner bros. didn't like this idea.. and rest is history]

- In both SW and HP the main antagonist is believed to be died but returns in another form. In star wars vader is left to death by Kenobi but he is saved by Palpatine,this fact is known to very few . In HP Voldemort lost his powers and living in snakes' body in jungles of albania after the first wizarding war. Wader was kept into mechanic suit and Voldemort's face changed from human to a snake like face.

-Instead of popularity of both series Ignoring pressure of fans both the creators (George Lucas and J.K.Rowling) decided to end the series. In interviews Lucas says that what I have decided to tell is all in six movies. Same is in J.K.Rowling's case. Though Star Wars has an expanded universe which contains lot of novels and fan movies related to the official cannon, Lucas licenses them and earns money from Star Wars EU. In Potter what we heard is pottermore.com which will be public in august, but there are no news of Harry Potter Expanded Universe.

Last But Not the list
Releasing a certain movie in both series was a lifelong memorable event of the fans.

In star wars case it was release of Star Wars 1: the Phantom Menace in 19th May 1999. All the fans who enjoyed star wars 6: the return of Jedi in their childhood or adolescence are grown up and excited to see the revival of the franchise after 16 years. To start that journey again.

In potter this date was 15th July 2011 where the fans of Harry Potter were prepared to say good bye to this cinematic journey. With a bitter-sweet memory....

Similarities I found can merely a co-incidence or somehow J.K.Rowling may be influenced by Star Wars.... In any case nothing is wrong..... And my love and devotion to both the series is not effected at all..

Biggest fear....

When your biggest fear chases you. Your throne and castles will be blown away within a minute.
Suddenly you realize that you have lost everything... Your past wasn't with you and with your limited power in present you are sure you have already lost your future.
If you are coward, you wil cry and surrender to this fear. Suppose you are not coward but you are not prepared for it, you just make your way to your hideout. Regardless of how safe it is the mighty fear will chase you. Hit you and wil ask for a duel.... You have to pay something from your priceless treasure to shut it up. In future when you need it, you have to fight with him hard, but the bigger problem is.... facing it.
Everybody has a biggest fear. Even I have it, once surrenderd and once successfully ran away to hideout with scars on me. Probably it's time to have a meeting with it. And this time I don't have any option other than fight with it. I came back to regain that precious thing.
And here I have a strategy, to know about it and if possible, make friends with it because....
Friends are there to remove our fears, not to create them...

એક સાંજે
ટ્રેનના ચાલ્યા ગયા પછી
રેલ્વેના પાટા અરસપરસ પૂછતાં હતાં:
“બે માણસને એકબીજાથી દૂર જવા માટે
કેટલું Distance જોઇએ ?“

ટેલિફોન ઉપર ફૂલો મોકલી શકાતાં નથી
અને શબ્દોમાં સુગંધ બીડી શકાતી નથી.

શું શા પૈસા ચાર?

મારી આ પોસ્ટ વાંચતા પહેલા એક જાહેરાત... કદાચ તમને આ પોસ્ટ ભેદભાવ વાળી લાગી શકે છે [એની માટે એડવાન્સ માં ક્ષમાયાચના]

મારું વાંચવાનું શરુ થયું લગભગ ૭ માં ધોરણ થી. ભાવનગર થીઓસોફીકલ લોજ, ગૂગલ બુક્સ અને ક્રોસ વર્ડ ની મદદ થી ઘણું વાંચવાનો લાભ પ્રાપ્ત થયો છે. મનોજ ખંડેરિયા થી લઇ ને જોન કીટ્સ કે હરકિસન મેહતા થી લઇ ને ગબ્રીઅલ ગાર્સિયા માર્કેઝ અને ધ્રુવ ભટ્ટ થી લઇ ને પાઉલો કોએલ્હો ને વાચ્યા ના દાવા છાતી ઠોકી ને કરી શકાય એવી હાલત નથી પણ હા.... એટલું જરૂર કહી શકું છું અને એ પણ છાતી ઠોકી ને કે આ બધા ની ઉંચાઈ થી હું વાકેફ છું અને જેવો અને જેટલો અનુભવ છે એ તો એટલું જ કહે છે કે કમ સે કમ જેટલા ગુજરાતી સાહિત્યકારો ને અહિયાં મુક્યા છે એ એમના પશ્ચિમી સાથીદારો થી જરાય ઉતરતી કક્ષા ના નથી..... પણ આંખે ઉડી ને અને રસ્તા માં હૃદય ને વાગી ને દેખાતો અને અનુભવતો ફરક છે આમને મળેલી ઓડીયન્સ નો.... અને એમાં આપણા સાહિત્યકારો દેશ ના બીજા રાજ્યો ની સ્પર્ધા માં ક્યાય નથી........

નજર ક્યાય આઘે કરવાની જરૂર નથી.... શરદ જોશી ને જ લઇ લો.... લાપતાગંજ કે અતિથી તુમ કબ જાઓગે જેવી રીશીકેશ મુખર્જી છાપ શુદ્ધ પારિવારિક કોમેડી ના સર્જક હોય કે મયખાના ના શરાબ કરતા ય વેધક અને જલદ એવી મધુશાલા ના કવિ હરિવંશરાય બચ્ચન કે પછી લીરીક્સ ના નામે કવિતા પીરસતા ગુલઝાર. બધા ને એમની પ્રજા એ યથા શક્તિ ઊંચક્યા છે... માથે બેસાડ્યા છે અને ક્યારેક ક્યારેક પૂજ્યા પણ છે......

અને આપણે લગભગ એક સૈકા પહેલા લખાયેલી પંક્તિ "શું શા પૈસા ચાર" ને હજી વળગી રહેવા માં માનતા હોઈએ એવું લાગે છે..... [મને આ આખી કવિતા યાદ નથી કદાચ કોઈ ને યાદ હોય તો કમેન્ટ તરીકે પોસ્ટ કરવા વિનંતી], અને જે રીતે સેલ્ફ હેલ્પ, કૂકરી, ધાર્મિક અને સ્વાસ્થ્ય સંબંધી પુસ્તકો ગુજરાત ના પુસ્તક મેળા ઓ માં ઠાલવતા રહેશે તો આ ચાર પૈસા પણ ગુજરાતી ભાષા અને સાહિત્ય માટે overprised ગણાશે.

પણ રાખે એવું માનતા કે હું અહિયાં ગુજરાતી ભાષા ના ભવિષ્ય વિષે કકળાટ કરવા બેઠો છું....... જેટલો કરવો હતો એટલો થઇ ગયો અને રાતે ચાર વાગે વધારે કકળાટ કરવાની તાકાત પણ નથી..... ઉલટા નો હું થોડો ઘણો આશાસ્પદ છું ગુજરાતી ભાષા ના ભવિષ્ય વિષે.... ખાસ કરી ને કેટલીક નવલકથા ઓ વાચી ને...... કેટલાક ગઝલ પ્રેમી મિત્રો પાસે થી ગઝલ ના ડોઝ તો નિયમિત લેતો રહું છું. અને ગઝલો અને કવિતા ઓ માં ભૂત અને વર્તમાન ભવિષ્ય ને ઘડવા માટે ઘણા સજ્જ દેખાઈ આવે છે..... અને અહિયાં હું તમારી સાથે મારા ગુજરાતી વાંચન ને શેર કરવા માગું છું....

કહે તે સ્વીકારું શરત માત્ર એકજ, મને મારી ક્ષણ દે પરત માત્ર એકજ...... સ્વ. મનોજ ખંડેરિયા ની આ ગઝલ પેહલી વાર વાચતા ની સાથેજ શરીર ની રોમે રોમ માં સમાઈ ગઈ હતી.... અને પછી, હાથ માં કારોબાર રાખ્યો તે, મને બારોબાર રાખ્યો તે..... તળેટી જતાં એવું લાગ્યા કરે છે, હજી ક્યાંક કરતાલ વાગ્યા કરે છે, [સાભાર: http://www.manojkhanderia.com/?p=264] .... કવિ હૃદય ના માણસ ને trans માં નાખી દેવા માટે આ છેલ્લી ગઝલ કાફી છે. ગઝલ ના અંતે શબ્દ અને "ક્યાય પણ ગયો નથી" માં મૃત્યુ ને લક્ષ માં રાખી ને ગઝલ [મારા કેસ માં કવિતા] પૂરી કરવાની એમની સ્ટાઈલ ખાનગી ખૂણે મેં બિન્દાસ કોપી કરી છે.... [જાહેરાત: ગઝલો અને કવિતા વાંચવાનું બહુ ઓછું રહ્યું છે... મરીઝ ને વાંચેલા છે પણ એની કોઈ ગઝલ યાદ નથી, અને અત્યારે વિપિન પરીખ, કે જેને વાચી ને મેં મારી કવિતા ઓ ને કાયમી અછાંદસ બનાવી છે એનું સર્જન પણ બહુ યાદ નથી.. :-( ]

કવિતા જેવા [વણખેડાયેલા] મહાસાગર વિષે મારી ચણીબોર જેવી કોમેન્ટ્રી અહિયાં પૂરી થાય છે અને હવે એક પ્રયાસ ગુજરાતી નવલકથા ઓ ની વિષે જ્ઞાન ઊલ્ટી કરવાનો.

૧૮૭૫ ના બળવા પછી ના ૩૦ વરસ ના સમયગાળા ને લક્ષ માં રાખી ને લખાયેલી બે નવલકથા ઓ, રમણલાલ દેસાઈ ની "ભરેલો અગ્નિ" અને પર્સનલ ફેવરીટ અશ્વિની ભટ્ટ ની "ઓથાર". [પુરા ભારત માં આ વિષય ને લક્ષ માં રાખી ને કોઈ ફિક્શન લખાણું હોવાનું ખ્યાલ માં નથી]. અશ્વિની ભટ્ટ ની જ "અંગાર" કે "કટિબંધ", હરકિસન મેહતા ની પેરાસાઈકોલોજીકલ થ્રીલર "જડ ચેતન" કે ભ્રષ્ટાચાર સામે લડતા સાધુ ની "અંત આરંભ". અને મારી વિશ લીસ્ટ માં સહુથી ઉપર "અમર અલી ઠગ ના પીળા રૂમાલ ની ગાંઠ". આમાંની કોઈ પણ એક નવલકથા નું ફિલ્મ રૂપાંતરણ ગોવિંદભાઈ પટેલ ને નેશનલ એવોર્ડ અપાવી શકે છે.....

ગુજરાત ની પ્રજા ની સાહસ ગાથા ને શબ્દ દેહ આપનારા બે સાહિત્યકારો, એક ઝવેરચંદ મેઘાણી અને બીજા ગુણવંતરાય આચાર્ય. એકે કસુંબો પીધો અને બીજા એ દરિયો ખુંદયો. ઝવેરચંદ મેઘાણી ને વાંચવાનું બહુ ઓછું બન્યું છે. પણ આચાર્ય સાહેબ ની નવલકથાઓ ખરેખર ગમી છે... titanic ને ભુલાવી દે એવી વીજળી ની દુર્ઘટના અને દરિયા ને જીતવાનું સપનું જોનારો હાજી, જંગબાર ની જેરામ શિવજી ની પેઢી, લાધાભા ઠાકોર, લાલિયો ઘંટ, મંગલ પારેખ [મંગો પાર્ક નામનો ગોરો પ્રવાસી], અનંત ચાવડો....... આ બધા પાત્રો અને એને સમાવતી નવલકથાઓ પાઈરેટ્સ ઓફ કેરેબિયન શ્રેણી ને ક્યાય ફેકી દે એવી છે......

અને અંત કરીશ ધ્રુવ ભટ્ટ થી...... ડીઝની વાળા એ જયારે ભારત માં પોતાની પ્રથમ ફિલ્મ તરીકે રોડ સાઈડ રોમિયો જેવો બકવાસ હથોડો પસંદ કર્યો ત્યારે એક અફસોસ રહી ગયો કે આના બદલે ધ્રુવ ભટ્ટ ની અતરાપી ને પસંદ કરી હોત તો આ નવલકથા ને ખરેખર ન્યાય મળ્યો કહેવાય. માત્ર અતરાપી જ નહિ. પાઉલો કોએલ્હો ની બેસ્ટ સેલર અલ્કેમિસ્ટ ને ય મોળી પડે એવી પર્સનલ ફેવરીટ સમુદ્રાન્તિકે... તત્વમસી... આ બધી નવલકથાઓ અઘરા માં અઘરું આધ્યાત્મ શીરા ની જેમ ગળે ઉતારે છે, અને એ પણ વાચવા અને વાગોળવા ગમે એવી વાર્તા ઓ રૂપે.......

બસ, હવે આંગળી ઓ ને આરામ આપું છું..... અહી સુધી વાચવા બદલ અને મારા વિચારો ને સહન કરવા બદલ hearty thanks.

અંત માં

આ ફક્ત એ કૃતિ ઓ છે જે મેં વાચી છે અને વાચી હોવાનું યાદ છે. તમારી પાસે પણ આવી કૃતિ ઓ ની માહિતી હશે જે ગુજરાતી ને સાહિત્ય ને ગૌરવ અપાવી શકે..... તો તમે આવી કૃતિ ઓ ને કમેન્ટ માં લખી શકો છો

ખાલીપો

એક ઘડી ભર નો ઉજાસ, અને ખાલીપો.
કલાકો નો અંધકાર, અને ખાલીપો.
થોડો સ્વાદ, થોડો આસ્વાદ, એક મીઠો સાદ ,
અને ખાલીપો.
બે ઘડી યારો નો સાથ, અને ખાલીપો.
ઘણું બધું ભેગું થાય, ઘૂંટાય, દબાય, ભીંસાય,
પછી જે મળે એ થોડો ધૂંધવાટ અને ખાલીપો.
થોડી સફળતા ની મજા અને ખાલીપો
થોડી નિષ્ફળતા ની સજા, અને ખાલીપો
હવે કોઈ પૂછશે આ કવિતા એટલે શું?

‘Inception’ and ‘Toy Story 3’ : Memories of the gone (સ્મ્રીતીશેષ )

Yes as the title suggests today’s post is about these two blockbuster movies of this year from wild wild west. One is psychological masterpiece about dreams and other is on screen magic of toys and their adventures. But do you know that they both have one thing in common?

Today there was a speech by Jay Vasavada in baroda at vanijya bhavan. Just 10 mins walking distance from my office. So when Jaybhai tweeted about the venue I made my mind to go for a lecture. And inspite of being there on Indian Standard Time (20 mins late). I missed nothing. Jaybhai’s speech was not started yet. In his speech there was a word that meant ‘memory of gone’ = સ્મ્રીતીશેષ . (Off the topic: મને મારી English માં blog લખવાની જીદ ક્યાંક ભારે નો પડે તો સારું.. હું ગુજરાતી ભૂલતો જાઉં છું @ 12 38 midnight.. અત્યારે Almost at 3 am જય વસાવડા એ મને આ શબ્દ યાદ અપાવ્યો, સ્મ્રીતીશેશ ). That inspired me to write an instance post dedicated to this word.

Once again let me ask you the question.
Do you know what does ‘toy story 3’ and ‘Inception’ have in common?
And the answer from my side is : Deep down in memory lane.

Let me make it bit simpler. Both the movies handle characters’ memory as the essential part of the story. One is going on a darker, maniac and hopeless route (The Inception), while other is dealing with some happy memory (Toy Story 3).

The ts 3 is the last part of the magical toy story franchise who dealt with lives of toys. In the first two parts the owner of the toys Andy is a child. And having some nice fantasies with them. Inspite of having a little screen space in both ts s he’s the one for whom a plastic space ranger toy and a -rare of its kind- cowboy sheriff toy go beyond their limit so they can be with Andy and be the part of that good time that Andy spent with them. Even we can see the glimpse of that good time in opening scenes of ts3. (Off the topic: All ts movies start with a imagination of Andy or toys playing with each other).

It is the present which is more miserable for the toys. We can see that they have not been put out from that box since years, and not been played with. And Andy is leaving for college. The time that ‘Prospector’ from ts 2 has predicted. Almost sounded like “Andy will dump you all when he’s grown up.”. And now prospector’s prediction is proving true. The toys which meant to go in atrium (ગુજરાતી માં અભરાઈ કે મેડા જેવું કૈક ) are going to day care center now.In previous ts we have seen sheriff woody having fear of being rejected but now having realizing this mistake earlier stands for Andy and urges all the toys to hope out of box.

After lot of torture and adventures the toys realize the truth and return to Andy. Meanwhile woody meets with a caring girl, Bonnie and ‘recommends’ Andy to hand over himself and other toys to her. The climax scene in which Andy explain role of each toys in his life (yes he’s also mentioning Rex and Potatohead pair too) is one of the most emotional climax I’ve seen in years too. Almost cried when movie is finished and still having same feelings in my heart while I remember the scene.

To cut the whole branch shorter TS3 is the story of those toys who fought with every type of hurdles just for the sake of good memories they had with Andy. And that I think makes the story much heartfelt with compared to other TS movies.

Now let’s talk about inception. Merely it’s a story about Cobb’s adventure to implant an idea to fisher junior’s mind to break up his father’s empire so his rival saito can have a monopoly. And in this adventure fisher junior is not the one who is the bad guy. It’s Cobb -or rather say -his own guilty memories of mal. His wife who killed herself proving Cobb’s experiment a failure.

The pair Mal and Cobb had their happy time together in 3^rd and 4^th level of dreams and spent almost 50 years there. (that’s hardly an hour’s sleep-according to the movie logic- if I’m not wrong). In the dream Cobb implants an idea on mal’s mind that everything she lives is a dream and killing herself will end the dream and lead to the real world. And in –what we see is-real life mal kills herself.

This guilt of inception or unable to save mal leads a great agony in Cobb’s mind and every time he sees mal in his dreams cannot handle her and every time his bad memories about mal tries to ruin whole plan. Even she tries to kill saito and fisher and drags Cobb to 4^th level of dream where they had a happy time together to keep him there forever.

And I think I don’t need to cut this branch short. Both these high grosser and Oscar contender movies are found doing great deal with the ‘memory of gone’. Whether it’s time or a person. But we would often like to swallow our memories. And it’s not only for old ones but for some youngsters including me are remembering their memory of that good or bad time too much. Either to tell others that this should have been done and that shouldn’t or just to remember how funny-foolish-sad-screwed days there were (mostly when we are with friends including the one beneath our skin) and copy those emotions for a while. And I don’t have any objections with it (mostly because I’m doing this).

Final word: We have too many valuables in our treasure. It’s upon us to use it or misuse it.

Old wine in new bottle part 2

So i'm back as i told you in my last post, with some new songs, and this time i have included two international numbers too.

So without any more talks let me start

1. O humdum suniyo re (Saathiya) : Saathiya was the first ever album which i have heard before the movie is released. And whenever i heard this song the only thought came in my mind that in early morning a band is performing this song on a terrace or with huge crowd on a road. And then i come to know about Beatles.. and that started a new story... "Good morning Disney", a story of band which is fully inspired by Beatles (A note: I had this idea in 2006,two years prior to rock on... however inspired from rock on, the current day of the story will be 10th anniversary of break up of "good morning Disney")

And here is my situation of the song, will lead the movie to flashback and this song will be played in radio (on 7 am show), crediting to "good morning Disney" and camera will go to each place where a radio can be played early morning........

now its upon you how you will imagine this song..........

2. O Saaya (Slumdog Millionaire) : I never understood why whole album with full of some world class instrumentals ignored and we the people only sing Jai Ho?? however this is not the point to be discussed here, so let's resume. I have imagined this song as how "Good morning Disney"-the band-forms. From a singer, than a guitarist to keybaord player and drummer and finally a lead female voice.... all in order as the song has and to justify drum beats i set their meeting place in a warehouse behind railway lines (Partially inspired from SRK suchitra krisnamurti starrer "Kabhi haa Kabhi naa"). This song will end when they sing it on their first live show

3. Why So Serious (Batman the dark knight, Music Hans Zimmer): The number is not played as a single piece in the movie. And most of its part is played in the opening scene where joker robs the bank.Here is my story.... Recently I read in Wikipedia about Akira Kurosawa's "Rashomon". In which one story is told from different and conflicting view points.

And i'm planning this story with a highway adventure. A truck is being looted.. driver is thrown out. Truck is than brought to a warehouse to plant a bomb in it and later handed over to other one. The truck follows a limousine with a celeb passing from this highway, a documentary filmmaker is shooting his story from a helicopter right above the truck and the celeb is attacked with bomb in truck and later with a gunshot. This will be a story will be told from different perspectives. And this number (being 11 minutes long) will be played as a background music here...

4. Eleanor Rigby (Beatles) : This Beatles song is one of my most favorite songs specially for its catch line; "Look at all the lonely people". Can you imagine as both positive and negative lines?

Recently seen George lukas' "The American Graffiti" a story about some young people leaving their city for college, involve in dance,romance and some car racing. In this movie a character sees a blonde on his way to dance club and her one minute glimpse makes him fall in love and searching her throughout the movie. This is a subplot of the movie, what if this one is stretched to a movie in which they both meet in climax? I have put "Elanor rigby" in opening and end credits as negative and positive themes respectively.

5. Lathika's theme Or Dreams on fire (Slumdog Millionaire) : Only difference in both songs is one is pure insturmental while other has words.

Remember my last post in which i have told you about a city in Aamir Climax theme song? This city is "Lovelace". And the story will have a love story as main theme. Here is a short synopsis of the story: The lead pair is a university students boy is assisting a scientist as a side job and girl is professional graffiti artist, in the middle of the story the boy comes to know that their beloved city will ruin shortly and nothing can be saved... This song will be played as a background when the boy conveys this sad and shocking news to his girlfriend.

This is it. My list of some songs that inspired me to make a full story (though in development phase with framework ready)... However i wished to include two more songs here but i could not build any kind of story around them. However let me tell something about it.

Kilimanjaro (Robot) : Heard about Don Quixote? I imagined young Indian Don Quixote proposing his gf but it didn't amused me much.......

Raat Ka nasha (Asoka) : Do one thing. Imagine Vidya Balan with her simple face instead of Kareena.Vidya looks more stunning here. But still not able to have a story around it.....

Q: What is the exact sign of a true music lover???

A: When he hears a beautiful female voice from bathroom he puts his ear on keyhole instead of his eyes....

In Jurassic era people used to tell this joke to me and i thrown this to you...
I'm a music lover but not a hard core one. But i have heard a vast range of music. From Manna dey to Javed Ali, from Arun Rajayguru to hans zimmer, from "Madhuban me radhika nache re" (soft classical) to "Why so serious" (Hard instrumental). And usually i enjoy them at night, with headphones or hands free... eyes close and immersing myself deep into that song. And that led me to some wild imaginations, kind of one song that turned into story.... Let me share some of them with you....

n.b. My imagination just starts after the name of song.

1. Jiya Jale (Dil Se....) : Shriraghavan, a 10th century tamil warrior leads his fleet to Singapore to atack them, and the story starts when he is on his way back to tamilnadu. He has a beauty with him whom he refereed as mala. And this song depicts how they are being attracted to each other.

I never understood why a girl from Singapore sings a Hindi song? And why most of the time mala is same preity zinta we saw in original song?.. Probably shriraghavan may cross Narmada to capture a north Indian state and brings back mala as a trophy to justify a Hindi song. That may be some logical.

2. Dekho na (Swades) : I never planned any story on that but when swades is released I was reading Ashwini Bhatt's "Othar". When I heard that song for the first time it was midnight on my terrace. When I read the pages in which Sejalsinh (Shahid Or Ranbir should play it) dating Sena Barnish (Amrita rao) in narmada's bhedaghat the only song came in my mind was this.

3. Bhala bura (Aks) : I heartily liked two PC games. GTA and NFS most wanted. And NFS MW is the easiest to convert into a movie. And here is the altered story. Shreyas Talpade is having split personality one is doing a job on day time and other is racing with illegal local bike racers for the sake of some revenge. This song i think will be useful to roll out the starting credits and also to introduce the black side of S.T.

4. Aamir Climax theme : Suppose it's mumbai's time to vanish from world map, the city had already suffered a massive earthquake and now it is a tsunami..... every thing will be finished and our beloved city will be no more.... OK? now replace mumbai with any imaginary city with all your good thoughts fulfilled in it (In short IMAGINE A RAMRAJYA) and let it destroy it with this number..... (I named this city LOVELACE more on lovelace will be there)

5. Warriors in piece : Hindi version (Warriors in piece : A Chinese movie in which Album composed by A,R Rahman) : A mystic beauty on the war field. Urging a warrior to drop his sword and follow her. She indicates a direction but warrior knows that there is a deep dessert there and there is no life in that wast area... what should he do? go behind a mystic and almost an imaginary girl? or just to continue the war that gave him nothing but bad memories?

So here is the part one from my fav song lists that cat be STRETCHED into movies. Part two later this weekend...

I have read only three to four verses of vipin parikh but every time i read him every word of him stores directly in my heart........

According to psychology a young boy is always attracted to mother and a girl is always attracted to father. And at the time of puberty father comes nearer to son and obviously mother comes nearer to daughter, and parents have new dimensions of these relation without affecting old love of child hood.......................

But when I was in puberty i didn't have my father around.... actually i lost him when i was only 5.............

And when suddenly I read this poem in todays gujarat samachar (In SHABDA SUR NE MELE by 'MISKIN' (Inspired from dostovyeski's prince myshkin who sounds similar to this?? Who knows....))I can't hold myselt and from then I was constantly thinking about each word of this poem

No my father was never a drunkard and a fiend (in fact he was an idol to me), and neither I have a wife, so no question of having B E A utiful wife. So don’t worry friends you’ll not have any repeated story of that Chris Nolan’s joker again.
But I still have scars and I have too many things to tell about this, I will try to make it easy and short for you. And for your sake here is the summary at the start of this post. The essence of my last 5 to 6 years

It’s too easy to be a critic, but it’s too hard to be an admirer. And one of the greatest difficulties we feel today is to admire someone when he is present there and can easily understand how you admired him.

From our birth we have a genuine gift called critics. May be in form of our parents or may be in form of society. They will never help you to achieve something; even many of them usually avoid being part of this achievement and enjoyment. And when you commit any mistake, they will be first and most hard critics you have ever seen. When you argue that I have done this much than they will have a readymade reply:”It’s your duty or it’s your task! Tell me when you will do anything extraordinary?”

This is not new for me, and I don’t feel that I’m alone. (Point me out if I am, I’ll be most happy) , coz we the people are neither achieved any gold medal, nor working for any mncs neither killed a terrorist out of computer and not a hard core social worker. We the people are having hard times to manage our incomes, settle ourselves down and make apni and apno ki life better. And in this hardship, I think a little bit of praise straight to a man can save at least a day or even a life.

And here is one question that you should answer honestly
Q: Do you feel that you are more and hardly criticized than been admired?
If you are not, consider yourself as BLESSED, I am half BLESSED.

And the people appointed to motivate normal people at high salaries hardly found motivating their juniors. At least in my personal experience they are either demoralizing you or just ignoring you. I feel better to be ignored than to be demoralized. And in competitive age (can I write edge here?) only lucky people gets ignorance, so in most of case, when you found doing the mistake they come to demoralize you. And in this situation our usual approach is to strike to them with more power than theirs. And that causes nothing but a constantly growing hatred. And in so-called management it’s called loss-loss situation.
Here is the second question

Q: Have you ever admired a small worker? Or even have you ever greeted a stranger with a smile?
For me, I did this once or twice in my life, but I am keeping one rule given by my grandpa:”Never dissatisfy your service provider” (Now being a service industry employee for 14 months I realized how he is true 10 years ago. )

Here I remember Gandhiji. Everybody is having clear idea of what Gandhi giri is. And here we lack this power of our beloved father of nation, to answer every criticism calmly and with purity of your heart. Another man I have seen doing this practically was our beloved ex president of India, kalaam sir. And even I’m also started to learn it. But I usually found this approach is considered as our weakness, as observed in this tweet by spmehta_it.

And here is the third question.

Q: Have you ever BY CHOICE answered your criticism calmly?
For me, I’m learning this art. At least I can able to differentiate criticism and suggestion. And learning process is still not finished.

Ok let me finish it. It’s already 4 30 AM in morning(Written on Sunday early morning after a good hold em session on fb). And that is the effect if this post becomes as freak as heath ledger’s joker who inspired title of the post.
Please keep in mind I have no intentions to give a lecture neither I’m negative, in fact I have been through a hard time recently which reminded me of all my mistakes and dis achievements, and this post is to share the thoughts of my hard times not to cry out loudly, and sorry if you found this post a shattered one, finishing with the quote from Atul Karwal who is a Guajarati ips officer who climbed the Everest and wrote the book “Think Everest”
Think Everest, do the Everest but do not talk Everest.
Which kind of quote it is?

Last but not the least: Playing a beautiful song from Kabhie Kabhie. Main pal do pal ka shayar hoon, written by Sahir Ludhiyanvi.

1 vs One, Comparision vs expression

There are two types of phenomena in this world. Number and word. In the other word 1 and one. For normal people there is no difference in this two, but I -the abnormal one- can see it easily, the former is the agent of comparison (Sounds like agent of chaos, isn't it?) and the later is form of expression. And I hate comparisons.

Comparisons kill the man, and expressions are keeping them alive. E.g. The marks you got, runs you made, money you earned, targets you achieved, followers you have (not only on internet but also in real world, specially in *Mera bharat mahan*), even the numbers of songs you can play on radio station..... accepted that it can be the ignition to man's success..... but more precisely I want to say it is like the cigarette, it gives joy in start but you can not hold it for infinite time. (Yes i know how to smoke but I am not a smoker). And eventually comparison kills what it called creativity that I still believe everybody has.

On other hand word give you full freedom. They are meant to be expressed. Meant to be sung, danced, written, said, acted, seen, painted, cooked...... each work with word drags you near perfection. However if you don't want them it atleast can give you a joy if not forced to perform. And word is like the sky that will never going to fade from our eyes......

Just let me give one example. What if my favorite composer is called 2171724626 instead of A.r.rahman?? What would you call my college 71713644633746402655343 in stead of S.S.Engineering college? Don't know about others but I will go mad by only remembering these two names.

Last note:
Interesting thought just come in my mind: 100000 and -100000 make a 0, but two songs on opposite side of thought process gives me double joy back to back(Tried with Gulzar saab's "Aanevala pal" (Golmaal) and "Ibn-e-batuta"(Ishqiya) and enjoy both with equal joy). Like 100 and -100 made 200 without subtraction.
