Give thanks for the blankets and mattress that were purchased as part of the 2008 Gifts of Hope campaign. In Mulfilira Zambia, these items were a great blessing to the elderly who received them.

For those who received mattresses, it came as a complete surprise - the CiCA representatives simply showed up one day to deliver a mattress! Having kept their eyes open in the community for those in great need.

This winter was one of the coldest Zambian winters for a long time - there was even frost/fog on many and morning - and so the 22 blankets arrived just in time. We targeted mainly elderly people and it was very humbling as they knelt and cried to give thanks, a little here really does go a long way and the blankets will keep them warm fro years to come.

Give thanks for the donors who made these gifts of hope avaiable to those in need.

Some facts and figures about the state of Uttar Pradesh, North India:

Population: 174 million (whole of UK is 61 million)

Area in sq km: 240,928 (UK is 244,820 – so approx the same)

Density of population: 689 per sq km (UK is 246 per sq km)

809 community development blocks

97,260 villages

72% of the people live in the villages

- The National and State leaders

- Justice and liberty for the poor

It is against this backdrop that the 2020 movement is gaining momentum. It is not so much an organisation as a vision. The desire is to see 20% of the population of Uttar Pradesh as followers of Christ by the year 2020. Growth since the early 90’s has gone from around 0.1% to around 1% today, so they are praying this growth will, in God’s grace, prove to be exponential.

The growth of the church in Uttar Pradesh (UP) India is staggering. To put it in perspective, there are 174 million people living in this one state (the UK is about 61 million). The area is 240,000 sq km (whole of UK is about the same at 244,000 sq km) and the population density is 689 per sq km (compare with the UK's 246 per sq km)

In the early 90's only approx 0.1% of the population were Christians. Now it is said to be 1% - quite some growth. Churches are starting all over the place, and especially in the villages, which is significant since that's where 72% of the population live.

Give thanks for this significant growth and for new brothers and sisters in India. Pray that their faith will deepen and their love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight.

Please pray for this urgent situation.

Tonight we got official letter from land organization. They told us to leave the land today!
We took lower. Land organization cannot do this without judgment decision and paying us all money that we used for building. But there is so big corruption and many people like to get our land. Few days ago one boss asked us to pay him personally 2 000 000 tugrik for one paper.
Everything is in God’s hand. Pray for His protection in this situation. Also we need money for lower.
Situation in the country is very difficult this summer. Government commission closed all churches in our city (except us and missionary school). Their registration papers were not in right condition.
They were checking us 3 weeks ago during 2 days but we had enough of all papers. Government of Mongolia thinks that there are too many churches and made commission to check all churches in the country.
God bless you

In the morning the team continued with the work they started on Monday and in the afternoon they started another work in a neighborhood Brad and Abi Byrd have been working in for 7 years now. In addition, two other team members, Matt and Greg were up the mountain pouring concrete in the rain. All good work, all needing to be done, all for the glory of Living God! Not only was the Word taught but it was also demonstrated by some of the team members who visited a family Abi has been working with for 4 years now. Their hearts were broken by the darkness they faced. One members said,"I didn't have a box for something like what I faced today before today." Pray for wisdom for us as we address the tragedy and despair that is present and unchanging in that family. Please keep praying for the team.

Give thanks for those churches in Ireland reaching beyond their borders with both the good news and mercy of Christ. Pray that more and more churches in Ireland would catch a vision for global mission and would take up that privilege and responsibility. The Irish have a rich heritage and history as missionaries swarmed out of Ireland a long time ago in the sixth, seventh and eighth centuries. Pray that as more and more present-day Irish churches seek opportunities and get involved in global mission, their humilty, zeal and obediance would result in fruit for the kingdom.

Audrey Jose is speaking to 100+ women this Saturday (20th June) at a women's day hosted by Stopsley Baptist Church in Luton, UK - pray for her preparation and the impact on the day.

Meanwhile, Brian is working hard on a business plan for the team going to Macedonia. This is largely dependent on the complex issue of getting visas for the two families (one from Albania and one from the UK) who are ready to go and live there long-term.

Today is the Annual Day of Prayer for Children at High Risk. Radstock invites you to join with thousands of God's people around the globe to pray today for children who have their childhood taken from them and for those who minister among these children. Below is the a guide, provided by Oakseed Ministries, of how to pray:

Pray for a new openness by churches to seek out those vulnerable children in their community who are forced at young age to become adults.

Pray for children who are forced to become adults because of alcoholism in their family.

Pray for society to see the priority of education for a child. Economic bondage forces a family to send their child to beg on the streets rather than go to school.

Pray for parents to have the wisdom to resist societal pressure in this competitive world. Pray that children would be allowed to be children.

Pray for those children who lose their childhood because they are forced to work long ten hour days, every day, beginning at age seven or younger.

Pray for children who are kidnapped and forced to become child soldiers.

Pray for those young girls who are forced to be child brides.

Pray for the church to minister and care for children who have had their childhood taken away and for those who minister among such children.

Peaceful elections in Mongolia

One week ago today T. Elbegdorj, won a decisive victory in Mongolia's presidential election and the ex-communists conceded defeat. Instead of the riots that followed parliamentary elections last year, celebrations took place in the streets of Ulaanbaatar.

The elections are over but the real work remains ahead, and it would have been so, whichever candidate had won. Mongolia is a country with enormous challenges, as well as great potential.

Pray that due honour would be given to those in authority (Romans 13), and intercession made for them (1 Timothy 2), for the benefit of all, and for the flourishing of the Gospel. Mongolia is a strategic nation now. It has a potential for influence far in excess of its tiny 2.7 million population. Pray that influence yields a great harvest within, and well beyond, her borders!
