Here are some of them which will help you to maintain a flawless complexion.

Celery leaves - Clean, slice and boil a couple of handfuls of celery leaves in a small bucket of water. Remove from fire, cool and strain the water. Mix in a tablespoon of vinegar. Rinse your hair after shampooing with this water and see how your hair grows long and lustrous.

Leaves of ribbed gourd - Clean, slice and grind the leaves of this vegetable to a paste and apply over dark patches (on your body) left-over from some skin disease a few times daily. Within a week the patches will vanish, leaving no trace behind.

Bilva leaves -These are green leaves used in the worship of Lord Shiva. If you are suffering from offensive body odour, grind a handful of these leaves to a paste and apply this paste all over your body half an hour be. fore going in for your bath. Do this twice a week till you effect a cure.

Bay leaves - If you want to make your teeth sparkle, rub them twice a week with a dry bay leaf and see how women envy your bright smile.

Lettuce leaves - Grind a lettuce leaf with a small rose to a paste and mix in a few drops of lime juice. Apply this paste over your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Remove with water. This is excellent for counteracting a greasy skin.

Mint leaves - Wash and grind a few mint leaves to a smooth paste. Apply over your face every night before you go to sleep. This helps you to get rid of pimples and other embarrassing blemishes of the skin.

Mehandi or henna leaves - These leaves are being used for centuries in India by women to dye their hair and to decorate their palms and feet. You can have best results if you soak fresh leaves for a whole night in water. The following morning drain out the water and grind them to a paste with a little Indain kattha, some lime juice, sugar and turmeric powder. This way, the color of the henna will come out bright red. They are also used for darkening -the hair and encouraging their growth. Soak a few Indian gooseberry in a little milk for a couple of hours and then grind them to a smooth paste along with a handful of henna leaves. Mix well and rub into the roots of hair an hour before you go in for your head bath.

Neem leaves - These leaves are very useful for removing scars from the body caused by chickenpox and small pox. They also help in the case of small boils, itching and prickly heat. Boil a couple of handfuls of these leaves in a bucket of water till the water is reduced to three fourths its original quantity. Remove the water from fire, cool and strain and let the patient use it in his bath and within a week you will find a definite improvement in his condition.

Tea leaves - Left over tea leaves are very good for preventing the hair from falling and they also make the hair glossy and soft. Therefore, next time do not throwaway used tea leaves, use them for washing your hair. Put the leaves in a bucket of water and boil for 15 minutes. Remove from fire, cool and strain and use this for washing your hair instead of ordinary water. If lime juice is added to this water and it is used as a last rinse, it gives a lustrous sheen to the hair. These leaves are also excellent for reviving tired eyes. Mix some crushed ice in used tea leaves. Tie them up in two small pieces of cloth and put them on each eyelid for 10 minutes. They will not only remove tiredness from the eyes but will also make them brighter. They are also very good for treating sunburns. Dissolve four teaspoons tea leaves in boiling water. Strain and mix with clear, greasy surgical jelly and place in airtight jar.

Basil leaves - The leaves of Indian basil are very beneficial to the human body. Make a habit of taking a teaspoon of these leaves mixed with honey once a day to put a glow in your cheeks and to keep all the diseases away. This juice is also very effective for getting rid of lice. Apply it liberally to the head in the night and cover it with a towel. Next morning, wash your head in the usual way. Do this for a few weeks to effect a cure. If your baby has lice, scatter them on his pillow for a couple of days. These leaves also help in cases of almost all the skin diseases and removal of patches from the skin. Grind them to a paste and apply to the affected portions of the skin a few times daily for a few days and you will be completely relieved of your ailment. These leaves help even when all the other medicines have failed. It is rightly said-'A basil leaf a day keeps all diseases and skin ailments away'.

Try some of the suggestions given below to revive and to sustain the natural beauty of your complexion and to add that cool, clear appearance, which is the main asset of a summer complexion.

During the hot summer months your complexion needs extra care at night in order to counteract the drying effects of the sun and the wind during the day. Particularly, if you are above 25 you should regularly use a moisturizing cream at bedtime. Apply this cream daily in the night if you want to cherish the youthful loveliness of a flawless complexion.

To make your own moisturizing cream take four almonds and soak them in enough milk to cover them. Let them remain thus for a whole night, next morning peel and grind them to a smooth paste. Now mix in two tablespoons of milk cream and a few drops of essence of rose. Store in a bottle and keep it in the fridge.

As the temperature rises in the hot months, extra cleaning is necessary for those of you who have greasy complexion. Bathe your face four to five times daily with clear water and a good soap suited to your complexion. This will help cleanse the openings of grease glands and loosen excess secretion. Rinse off every trace of soap with plenty of hot, then cold water. Cold water constricts the pores and minimizes the entrance of dust and dirt into the oil glands. Now splash an astringent lotion on the face. In a bowl of chilled water squeeze in a juice of a sour lime. Pat dry. Remember to cleanse the skin thoroughly with milk cream blended into a thin paste with gram flour. Steam the face once every week in order to open clogged pores.
Another big problem of summer is excessive perspiration and body odour. Excessive perspiration usually occurs on the palms, soles, under the breast, forehead and scalp. It is often accompanied by offensive body odour which is largely due to the decomposition of sweat and contamination with micro-organisms. Under unclean circumstances, micro-organisms flourish giving rise to unsightly boils. Therefore, if you suffer from foulsmelling perspiration, you should pay special attention to your personal cleanliness. You should take bath twice daily with soap and plenty of water. Certain areas of the body (where perspiration is excessive) should be dusted liberally with boric powder mixed with an equal quantity of a good-scented talcum powder. If your feet perspire profusely then use salicylic powder on them or you can soak them for 15 minutes in a dilute solution of potassium permanganate in order to prevent infection and minimise 'body odour. Refrain from wearing nylon or woollen socks. Wear cotton socks and shoes which have no rubber soles on them. To check pespiration of the hands wash them well, dry them, then rub them with a few drops of witch-hazel.

Infants and toddlers should be bathed in the afternoon in water to which a few drops of Cologne have been added. Dust their bodies libearlly with equal quantity of scented powder and boric powder. For top-to-toe freshness pay proper attention to your hair. It is important that you should wash your hair at least twice a week. Freshen your hair in between by sprinkling some eau de Cologne before setti ng them. Revive tired eyes by wrapping crushed pieces of ice in a piece of cloth and applying it to closed eyelids. Then relax for 10 minutes in a dark room. You can use cucumber slices instead of ice cubes.
Ensure that feeling of freshness by keeping yourself and all your personal belongings, scrupulously clean. Your dresses and other clothes should be starched and well-pressed for a neat appearance. Keep pads soaked in cologne between your clothes and they will exude a lovely fragrance. When ironing your clothes, place a pad of cotton soaked- in either Cologne rose water or your favourite perfume by your side and run the pad on your clothes before ironing. Your pleasantly fragant clothes will make you feel cool and garden-fresh. Do away with all your nylons, georgettes and heavy silks and bring out the soft wispy chanderies, cool violes, crisp organdies and light cotton dresses in the softest of shades. Avoid wearing too many accessories.
During this season your makeup should be reduced to the minimum and the accent should be on naturalness. Avoid using foundation creams and lotions of any sort because heat may cause them 'running down' your face. Use a lipstick of pastel shade and use rouge sparingly. Finish your makeup with a light puff of powder.

If want to add glamour to your eye makeup, Mascara is a must makeup component. Your eye makeup is incomplete without applying mascara. Your eye makeup gets finishing touch with mascara. Mascara adds thickness to the eyelashes. Eyelashes look long and heavy. It gives the eyelashes clean look by separating them and curling them. Eyelashes get a well-defined look.

Besides being a makeup tool, mascara also nourishes the eyelashes. Now days, mascara is laced with proteins, waxes and oils which help to condition the eyelashes. They contain some problem-solving solution also. You can choose one, which suits your needs. If you have sparse-looking and thin lashes, you can make them look thick by adding volume. This can be easily achieved with the help of special ingredients in lash-building formulations in mascara. One should not use lash-building mascara, if she is wearing lenses as they can cause irritation, when fibers in it come in contact with lens.

How To Choose A Mascara

Mascara comes in various kinds. You can choose one according to your need.
- Water based mascara: This kind of mascara is water-soluble. You can apply it quickly and can be removed easily. They are soft to eyes and lashes. It runs with tears or in touch with water.
- Waterproof Mascara: It is a waterproof mascara and do not get smudged. They do not get infected or spoiled even if kept for long. It is best for the people who swim or cry a lot. It will last long and can be removed only with the help of eye makeup remover made for this type of mascara.

Presence of split ends can mar the appearance of otherwise great hairstyle. There is no cure for split ends, but you can prevent formation of split ends and get smooth hair, if you have information about how does split ends occur. Split ends are quite a common problem with women.

This is also called trichoptlosis. Hair is covered with protective cuticles. Split ends occur when this protective cuticle layer gets stripped off from the hair ends. Once the cuticle is roughed out, it cannot be replaced back. In this way inner cortex fibers come out. Once a hair strand get split end, it can unravel up to an inch up wards or even more. This leads to unmanageable and frizzy hairs. You can observe that one single hair can split into 2 or 3 strands. Hair gets rugged and uneven look as this split can happen at various location in the hair. You cannot do anything about split ends after getting them except just trimming them. Let us see into the causes of split ends.

Reasons for getting split ends: There are many factors, which lead to split ends in hair. If you avoid these causes, you can prevent formation of split ends and your hair will be healthier.

The one of the most important reason of getting split ends is the dry condition of hairs. Hair can be brittle and can be dry naturally. Other reasons for dryness in hair is the excessive use of heat treatments like use of straightening irons, curling irons, hair dryers and other heating tools. Fine and soft hair is more damaged by the heating treatments.

Excessive use of chemicals on hairs is also a cause of split ends. Especially, when protective measures are not taken care of with use of chemicals. Natural moisture and protective coating of hair is removed by use of chemicals like strengtheners, chemical relaxers, dyes and other products and this increase the chance of getting splits.

Other reasons are simple to avoid like vigorous brushing of hair, especially towards scalp and physical stress. Tying hair in tight braids or using metal and rubber accessories are also some causes for split ends.

How To Remove Split Ends: Once you get split ends, you can remove them only by regular hair trimming. There are some conditioning products, which claim to cure split ends, but what they actually do is temporarily bind the hair together. Trimming of hair is the last resort and after trimming hair grow naturally as before. When you are trimming, make sure to cut hair up to half an inch to avoid the upward splitting of hair. Trimming should be done regularly every 4 to 6 weeks.

For trimming the split ends, take a pair of scissors and take a small section of hairs. Now twist hair gently downwards. Split ends stick out of the twisted hair. Now cut these carefully. Repeat this procedure for all the hair.

Henna for Hair - Natural Hair Dye and Conditioner

Henna for Hair

Henna or mehendi is an herb. It is used for thousands of years for coloring purpose. It is used to decorate hands and legs by designing many patterns. Hair on head is another body part where henna is applied. Henna on hair makes them colorful, healthy and shiny.

Benefits of Henna for hair:

Henna has got tannin in it and molecules of tannin bind with keratin molecules of hair. This makes the hair strands strong. By the application of henna, hair become strong, healthy with beautiful tint. Hair becomes softer, tangle free and free from split ends. There is no harmful and artificial component in henna; it is just natural and safe. Hanna is a very good natural conditioner. So besides giving color to the hair, henna also conditions them. Henna gives beautiful natural red color to hair.

Due to its conditioner qualities, henna strengthen the hair. It has anti-Fungal properties and it is beneficial in reducing the occurrence of dandruff. Henna helps to loosen the curl pattern and detangle the hair. It makes hair manageable, shinier and gives natural healthy sheen. Henna is not like color dyes. It colors the hair shaft with red color. It cannot lighten the hair color. With repeated application of henna, its color on hair deepens. When henna is applied on black or dark brown hair, it becomes dark auburn to burgundy or black and when exposed to sunlight, it reflects red highlights. When applied on blonde hair, hair becomes natural red. White hair turns red or orange to deep red, by the application of henna.

What is henna?

It is the powder of dried leaves of henna bush. Pigment of henna becomes dye when mixed with water or acidic liquid. Henna is different from other natural dyes as it has capability to stain skin and hair.

To release its dye, henna needs warm, humid and acidic environment. It takes its own time to release its dye. Also it should be well rinsed to remove it from scalp and hair properly. You should protect your hands with gloves while applying henna on hair as it stains skin and clothing also.

Preparing hair for henna Application:

Though hair does need any prior preparation but still if you follow certain recommendation, it will be helpful while applying henna on hair. If you want to condition your hair with henna, then do not pre-wash your hair, especially people with very dry hair. Pre-washing means stripping hair of its natural oils. You will be benefited more if you do not pre-wash hair as henna seals natural oils present in hair. If conditioning is your priority rather than coloring, then you can apply oil for deep conditioning.

Otherwise if you want excellent coloring too, then do not apply oil before applying henna, as oil buildup in hair is a hindrance in having proper coloring of hair.

Another important thing to be remembered is to avoid scratching your scalp with fingers or comb prior to henna application as it can lead to broken skin of scalp. You should not apply henna before it gets healed.

Before applying henna, you should go for harvest test for the color of hair.
Apply henna paste to a layer of hair, separated with the help of comb. Leave it for three-four hours. You can see its color on harvested hair before applying it to whole head.

Preparing henna paste:

You should prepare henna paste with basic recipe, as there are many varied recipes. People add different other ingredients to basic henna according to what their hair needs. You should also prepare a mixture which suits your hair needs.

Take henna powder according to the length and volume of your hair. You can take 100 gm per foot of hair. Pour it in a bowl and mix it with lemon juice and water in equal quantities. Adding lemon juice to henna allows it to release its dye properly. Do not add hot water. Consistency of henna paste should be like pancake mix. Now cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and allow it to rest for 8 hours at place where temperature is between 75 to 85 degrees. This will allow optimum dye release of henna. You can keep this paste for up to 48 hours. You can add few drops of tea tree, lavender, and rosemary essential oils to henna.

There is wonderful recipe for curing falling hair and dandruff. Take one and half cup henna, 1 egg, 1 tsp amla powder, one and half tsp coffee powder and tea leaves, one lemon, ½ cup curd and 10 drops oil. Mix all the ingredients well except egg and keep it for 12 hours. After that add egg and apply it. After one hour, wash it with shampoo.

Types of Hair

Which Hair Type Are You?
There are different hair types, classified according to the level of moisturizer present in them. To find out what type of hair you have, follow the given instructions. After second day of wash, rub a tissue on your scalp, if it gets a oil blot then you have got normal hair. If there is nothing on the tissue, then it is dry hair and if hair strands stick each other due to grease then you have oily hair.

Hair type: Dry Hair

Hair is dry because oil glands in scalp are inactive and they lack moisture. This can be natural condition and may get aggravated by exposure to the sun, using harsh shampoos and any chemical treatment. Another reason for dry hair is blocking of pores by accumulation of oil on the scalp. They look dull and dry, split ends. Dry hair needs lot of care and nourishment. After shampooing, dry hair becomes frizzy. Before shampoo, ends look dry. This type of hair breaks off easily. Scalp feels itchy and dry. Sometimes, you can observe dry flakes of skin in the scalp.

Caring for dry hair should be part of daily regime. It should be massaged properly and gently with warm herbal oil at least thrice a week. To protect them from the action of chemicals and pollution, use mild shampoo. Avoid excess use of hair dryers and curlers on dry hair.

Hair type: Oily Hair

People with oily skin have oily hair generally. Hair becomes oily because of excessive secretion of oil from glands. Scalp also gets oily. Oily hair needs to be washed too often. You can wash them daily or every other day. For oily hair, oils and shampoos having henna and neem are very good. PH level of the scalp is maintained by applying herbal oils. To prevent excessive secretion of oil, one should avoid oily foods.

Hair Type: Balanced or normal hair

These are the ideal type of hair. These are shining, neither greasy nor dry. To maintain their health and shine, proper regular care and well balanced diet is a must.

Hair Type: Combination Hair

Combination hair has greasy scalp and hair with dry ends. Ends are split and lighter in color than the root hair.

Hair type according to the Hair texture: Hair texture can be curly or straight. Curly hair may be wavy or may have medium to tight coils. To maintain the health, shine and beauty of straight hair, proper care is must otherwise they look dull and damaged.

Do you want a think like this? I think – NO, that is why leading makeup artists are here to share their secrets with you. So you are welcome to discover top 3 mistakes that add you 10 years:

thick foundation

When you have too much foundation you actually look much older than you are. When you have applied your foundation use a napkin to take off the excess. The more skin people can see the better.

bright lipstick

Red, fuchsia and other bright lipsticks will look really poor on thinning and aging lips. You’d better choose a lipstick of a natural colour or a natural gloss.

eyeliner on the lower lashes

This trick will make your eyes look smaller.

Some Beauty Secrets for Teens

When you only start discovering the whole secrets of makeup you should be very attentive in order to know where reality is. Perhaps it becomes ultra-frizzy or your color seems to get brassy. You're suffering from the typical woes of summer. Fortunately, there are a ton of products on the market created to combat bad summer hair. Here are a few our favorite tips to fix flat and frizzy hair in summer:

Flat head Humidity can take a toll on fine hair in summer causing your hair to wilt. Instead of piling on the product, we suggest:
1. Pulling hair back in a loose bun on the nape of your neck or if your hair isn't long enough, pulling it into a cute little ponytail.
2. Get highlights. Keep in mind that coloring hair causes the strands to plump up. Lightening hair in summer actually adds body. We suggest a few highlights around the face.
3. Invest in the right products. For just-at-the-beach waves, spritz on a great salt spray then scrunch hair (or make your own with sea salts and water). For even more body, sprinkle a dry shampoo (or baby powder if you're blonde) at the crown and roots. It soaks up moisture.

The frizzies Dry hair sops up the moisture and can cause frizzies. Here are some tips to fix them:
1. Keep hair moisturized with a deep conditioning once a week.
2. Let washed hair air dry. Blowdrying only causes more frizz.
3. To tame frizzies, you'll need the right products. Invest in a straightening balm, shine serum and gel to keep hair moisturized.
4. Hide the frizz with a loose bun, gorgeous!

Sun or chlorine-damaged hair The sun, chlorine and salt water can wreck havoc on your hair color. Here's how to fix:
1. Wear a hat or bandana (ala Angelina Jolie) in the sun.
2. Invest in sunscreen shampoos and products. There are a ton of new ones on the market, at all prices.
3. Before swimming, rinse hair with tap water. This will cut down on salt and chlorine absorption, according to US Weekly magazine (July 24, 2006).

What Causes Split Ends?

Question: What Causes Split Ends?

Answer: Split ends are caused by damage done by:

blowdryers
curling irons
straightening irons
hair coloring products

You can keep split ends in check with proper hair maintenance: Trim, trim, trim. What you don't want to happen is have your hair split all the way up the shaft, rendering that hair ruined. To keep hair conditioned in the meantime, you'll need to deep condition once a week.

Tame split ends with a styling cream and if it's really time for a haircut, pulling hair back in a loose bun (my favorite trick) will hide all those nasty ends.

How to Be a Girly Girl

How to Be a Girly Girl
from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit

Become a girly girl or a trendy girl! Change pants into a skirt, Change a shirt into a cute shirt! Turn shoes into heels! Turn a ponytail into a Bun! Change anything you want by just following the steps!

Steps

Substitute clumsiness and jerky movements with graceful and fluid actions. You'll feel like a fake if you just clump along while walking. True "girly girls" sort of look like they're floating.

Buy clothing that always fits and gives you a waist.

Have a sense of style. Being in fashion is a must. Try to read more fashion magazines to learn what kinds of clothing go well together and how to put together a classy outfit. Be sure to create your own fashion and have your own style, because it's not right to wear something that just isn't you. It's often better to have a basic personal style than to always be chasing the latest "fad" look.

Take care of your skin. Skin should be well cared for and clear of imperfections. Wash your face everyday and remember to wear sunscreen or shade hats. Try to give yourself a mask facial once a week.

Remember: makeup usually makes you look polished. Lip gloss and mascara is perfect for everyday wear. You can also wear cheek tints and eye shadow, if you want. Foundation makes your skin look flawless, but too much can look fake. If you can't use makeup, don't worry, your face is already pretty. Use perfume like ones that smell like say tangerine, strawberry, coconut, etc. If you can't use perfume, at least use nice smelling deodorant.

Groom yourself every day. A good grooming routine everyday, is taking a shower, and shaving. Brush your teeth twice and floss at least once a day. Apply body lotion. The last step is perfume. Pick a custom scent for yourself to be your trademark.

Have good hygiene. Remember to always be clean: run a comb through your hair, keep your nails dirt-free and neat, brush your teeth and bathe/shower. When spraying perfume, be sure to use just enough, but not too much. Excessive use of perfume isn't attractive and does not improve your hygiene, despite popular belief. Being clean is important; being grubby isn't girly and isn't ladylike. Never have greasy hair. It is gross and very trashy.

Take care of your nails as well. Treat yourself to a pedicure/manicure, and make sure to keep from biting your nails, picking at them, etc. People notice your hands more than you think, and jagged nails don't look very nice. Try to go to a nail salon to get your nails done. If you can't, just do it by yourself or with a family member. If this is your first time being a girly-girl-in-training, try not to use dark colors like black. Use girly colors like pink, purple, etc.

Look after your hair. Make sure you comb it with a wide toothed comb or a brush, wash it every day or every other day, depending on your hair type, and don't use too many hair products. Straightening your hair every day could cause serious damage, so use a heat protection spray! You can also go for soft curls. Formal (regular) buns and messy buns are cute too.

Keep in tip-top shape. Don't eat too much dessert. It would be smart to eat low-fat (or fat-free) foods. Exercise daily. However, this doesn't mean starve yourself. You don't have to be stick thin. As long as you're healthy, you're fine!

Use mostly pastel colors such as pink and baby blue. Especially pink. Purple is a very pretty color as well. However, you can still wear, red, green, black, etc. Just because you're a girly girl doesn't mean you have to wear pink or purple all the time.

Have a bright personality, bubbly and happy. Don't giggle all the time, because people will find that really annoying. Instead, make other people laugh, and be really cute. Don't take yourself too seriously. Be sweet and friendly, do not yell too much.

Get girly clothes - skirts, cute shirts, accessories, jeans, cute shorts...anything bright is good. Make an effort to look around. When you first start coming out of your "comfort" zone you won't like anything and will keep saying "no" to everything you see. Go to every store you can. You might get tired of walking around, but just looking is a big step! Go with your friends who have style or with somebody who has any style different than yours! Let them help you, but develop your own style and don't just copy theirs.

Wear jeans that fit. Don't wear low cut jeans if you don't feel comfortable, but make sure your jeans fit you and are not tight or baggy. A belt is okay, but the fit says it all. Try on lots of brands, styles, cuts, and sizes. Not every size jean will fit the same depending on the brand. The same goes with shirts. Not tight, not baggy. If your shirt is so tight you can see your bra or you have trouble getting your shirt off of your back, then it's too tight. To see if the shirt is too small, raise your arms up. If your stomach shows when you do this, then the shirt may be too small. Things like camisoles are supposed to fit tight.

Stick to nice colors, nothing to violent or something that stands out too much. Nice colors would be anything light, clean and fresh looking. Nice outfits-jeans and shirts that suit you, skirts and tank tops, that kind of thing, leggings are nice too. Pair things up with a pair of shoes that fit and go with the outfit, and maybe a simple, plain chain and bracelet. Earrings can be a little long if you want-but nothing that is too violent.

Keep your teeth nice and white. There are several ways to get the perfect dazzling smile. If your teeth are crooked, don't shy away from braces. Just think of them as jewelry for your teeth! For whitening, you can either do it yourself at home with a store-bought product (such as crest white strips) or go to a dentist that also has expertise in the area of cosmetic dentistry to get them professionally whitened.

Be romantic. Girliness is also associated with romance sometimes. Be sure to read/write romance novels and develop a keen interest in poetry. You can also make this your music style by listening to love songs.

Learn to talk well. Swearing your head off or talking really loudly in an accent people can hardly make out is most definitely unattractive, and not lady like. Talking well is quite an art. Find a good tone so that people can hear you without straining their eardrums or covering their ears. A medium tone is best. Speak very clearly. If you're talking in a strong accent, not many will understand you.

Stop swearing. It may be hard to cut out, but swearing is one of the worst things you could do if you're trying to be ladylike. Try making a deal with your friends about not swearing for a day. Just think about proving to everyone you have the will power and self control to actually control and think about what comes out of your mouth. If you're a person who swears loads, this is not a ladylike thing. Definitely say things like "shoot" and "idiot". Try not to use bad words like "crap" or "moron". They're not okay. Try to make very calm and civil comebacks, not the regular old stuff. It'll take practice, but it's a huge step towards being ladylike and girly.

Be graceful. This is a difficult step, but also a crucial one. Being graceful doesn't mean you have to hate sports and walk on tip toe. Just make sure you walk with your head up, shoulders rolled back and your back straight. Don't swagger, or swing your hips. It looks exaggerated and weird. Don't swing your arms either - keep them by your side.

Have good taste in clothing: Be modest in clothing and avoid clothing of bad taste. Extremely low necklines, too short skirts, belly-bearing tops and revealing clothing can make a girl look like she does not respect her body and herself. Shirts with inappropriate sayings, logos can make a girl look like she's desperate for attention. The posh are not desperate for attention.

Don't stuff your face with food - chew your food and don't make any noises or gulp it down. Don't take huge bites either - just normal ones. Avoid eating anything that could get messy and sticky. Don't slouch when you're sitting in a chair-press your back against it and press your feet against the floor. Avoid folding your arms too-it gives off a "Get lost" vibe, and can make you look unsure about who you are and where you stand. Try not to put your hands in your pockets too much either. Just practice keeping them by your sides. It feels awkward, but actually looks completely normal.

Hang out with gal pals. Girls love the mall, shopping, and almost anything associated with beauty. Get a group of friends and have a shopping spree, makeovers, a sleepover, a bake sale or any girl-related activity.

Keep a diary. Draw girly stuff in it, like hearts, other cartoon characters, flowers and write poems and stories and so on.

Girly girls always want to be the center of attention. So try being out there, but don't get into too much drama.

Be organized. If you are organized, you'll always be able to find the things you're looking for.And being disorganized is unladylike.

Watch shows and channels on TV, like MTV and Teen Nick. Reality shows are in with girly girls.

Always have a cute purse on your arm.

If you curl your eyelashes you don't always have to wear mascara

Always be nice and generous. Having a selfish and nasty attitude towards others will drag you very far away from being ladylike. Always have a smile on your face, and be willing to let people borrow things from you. Be nice to everyone, even people who you think are losers, because nobody is a loser and everyone is a human being. Everyone deserves a chance, so make sure you give it to them. Don't exclude people from games, gifts, or secrets, keep your promises and don't gossip. Don't be mean or hot headed-always keep your cool.

NEVER, EVER let anyone mess with you. If someone is bullying you in any matter, you do NOT put up with it. It is disgusting behavior, and you don't let ANYONE walk all over you. This is the time to unleash the nasty.

Have a few possible comments to respond with if someone is insulting you. If you cannot think of anything, the insults will come depending on the person. Always be nice to other people, unless you have something against them.

Make sure your belongings are neat. Make sure you label and cover all of your school and text books. Try just covering them with clear contact paper-it looks a lot neater. If you really like patterned contact paper, try the metallic looking ones that come in red, silver, blue and gold. Label your things and look after them to make sure they don't get lost or damaged. Buy some nice pencils and pens-a nice, fancy pen or a cute colored pencil. Make sure you always have enough of everything-constantly asking to borrow things isn't very lady like. When buying a school bag, go for light and neutral colors and posh brands-stuff that's good quality. Don't buy anything in dark colors like navy blue or black.

Concentrate in School. It's important to be looked on as intelligent at school. Try hard in every single subject and class you take, and always hand in homework ON TIME. Don't talk during class-you have loads of time for that later. Don't pass notes either-it gets very embarrassing if you're caught. Ask questions and participate in class discussions. Try to get involved with the school and its' activities, too. Reading up on background information about a topic you're studying is good too, and can actually be interesting. Help others if they're struggling, and don't suck up to your teachers.

Tips

Try not to worry what others think!

Say more hi than hey. It's more girly.

Never contemplate releasing any form of gas from your body in front of anyone under any circumstances.

Remember, wear lots of pink! Combine it with other colors, for example white, or even black. These are the colors that work best with pastels.

Sparkles are great! But don't over-do it. Sparkly lip-gloss, or hair sparkles are fine.

Keep your grades as neat as your wardrobe.

Some pretty hairstyles are french braids, loose pigtails, messy buns, and The Fishtail Braid. If you're sick of your everyday hair, get it layered or go for a cute, girly cut. Ask your hair dresser what they think would suit you.

Make sure your teeth are in good shape, not stained, and breath smelling good.

A true girly girl knows that a purse is a must. Your purse should have the basics: lip gloss, mints/gum, perfume, a nail file, & whatever else you think you need!

A girly girl must not talk so loud and keep a pace of her speaking.

Have a good posture when sitting or standing.

Be polite to everyone you meet.

Don't wear too much makeup, just stick with your basics: lip gloss, mascara, and eye shadow (but not too much: it will make you look like a clown and you are trying too hard).

A girly girl should not have too much hair on her legs(a little is OK), but no hair on underarms.

Get some lip glosses and cute jewelry that suits you but don't go over the top.

Wear both lipstick and lip-gloss. First add a base coat of lipstick and then add some good smelling and sparkly lip-gloss to help it shine!

Make sure your hair is neat ALL the time! Set it in a different hairstyle everyday, to make everyone dazzled. Don't always leave your hair open. Braid it! Curl it! Straighten it! Tie it!

Smile! No girl will be completed without a smile!

Be nice to others even though sometime they won't be nice to you cause it feels good to know your a better person.

When at school, always have a organized locker or desk.

Wear little pink clips in your hair and wear dresses and mainly bright colored stuff.

At school , keep some lip-gloss with you at all times, and maybe a small tin of face moisturizer. You never know..you MIGHT just get a pimple or even worse, a spot during the day!

Don't become snobby or stuck-up, even if it seems like a good idea. It's not. Stick to your friends, be pleasant, and, as before mentioned, give everyone a chance.

Don't do anything to get you in trouble. Try not to break too many serious rules, and always think about the consequences of your actions before you actually carry them out. You never know-it might just save you an unlady like detention.

Alternately, you could skip gender roles and just be a person.

If your planing to be a girly girl dont start in the middle of the week!you dont wanna be goth one day then all cute the next day that will give you the wanna-be trait and that's absolutely horrible start your training Friday when you come home from school then you will start a fresh new girly week then people will think you changed. if people ask what happened to you just say a little white lie im being my self but dont lie at all to much or people will think your fake.

Warnings

If the old you is good, then there is no need to change.

Don't be masculine.

Protect your name.

Don't fall for the commercialism trap of 'needing' the latest fad.

Don't get dirty or muddy.

Try to be a good person cause you don't want to be disliked.

Try to keep your voice soft and light instead of screaming and yelling.

Any sport is good, but volleyball is the best for girls. Soccer is the next best sport. You can get muddy, but who cares? You take a nice shower afterward.

Never bite your nails!

Always stay calm around boys, and never be scared to talk.

Have great posture, or sorta lean on ur hip or against a wall (always looks cute)

Some people may dislike you or call you stuck-up or nerdy. If you know you've done nothing wrong or nasty, simply ignore them. They're trying to bring you down, so don't let them.

Be intelligent. A girly girl should have good topics to talk about . So study about things that you find interesting and important for life. Read books and improve your vocabulary, and don't use the word "like" all the time; it's a sign of poor education and nervousness. People will admire you because you're smart and have confidence that may be very convenient to you.

Tattoos and Body Piercings- Appearances convey a strong message to others; you can be judged by an individual or right before an event that will play a prominent role in your future (e.g. a prospective employer, acquiring a higher position in a reputable company, etc.). Therefore, take careful consideration when deciding if it is a good ideal for you to get visible tattoos or body piercings. Even though a person’s outward appearance does not automatically show his or her true inner qualities, appearances can reflect how a person is willing to be perceived by the world. Also keep in mind that although tattoos and piercings are individual expressions, they can be permanent or difficult (even costly) to remove if you change your mind in the future. If you are in doubt about how tattoos and piercings may impact you in the future, forget about getting them and find other ways to show self expression, such as creating works of art, poetry, hobbies, etc.

Value your virtues. If you have any good skill or kind of talent, such as drawing, or dancing, singing or playing any musical instrument, do not hide it, work it. Let people see how good you are by exposing your pictures, or maybe playing a musical instrument in front of someone. If you're good at acting, look for a part in any play at theater.

Things You'll Need

Shiny lip gloss,or makeup kit.

Nice brand of teen clothing (such as American eagle, Abercrombie,Aeropostale, Hollister).

Girly accessories (such as head bands, necklaces, earrings).

Make up (such as mascara, lip gloss, eye shadow)

Purses to match your outfit (preferably designer)

A cute pairs of shoes

The latest fashions

Dresses/Mini skirts (note: you don't always have to wear stuff like that since you can wear jeans to but not that much).

Nice girly smelling perfumes.

you will look ridelous around boy so it not the end of the world

Flat irons, hot rollers, Barrel curlers, ringlet curlers, and crimpers

A. Petroleum jelly
B. Flavored
C. Cocoa Butter
D. Tinted

CORRECT ANSWER: C, Cocoa butter. Some common ingredients in lip balm can actually have an adverse effect. Mineral oil (petroleum jelly) creates an artificial film on your lips, signaling your skin to stop producing lipids, while funky flavors, perfumes, and colors can also dry out skin. To prevent chapping, look for natural-oil-infused balms or those with shea and cocoa butter.

Beat the Heat Summer Deals from YesStyle #3

With Summer approaching close, we decided to give you some great deals for the summer from YesStyle.

1. Shop by yourself or bring along a totally trusted, stylish friend (or your oh-so fashionable mom, in my case!)
2. Use the three-way mirror. What may look fabulous from the front could look totally drab from the back.
3. Dress/beautify for shopping so you don't look like a troll in the mirrors. Stick with your everyday makeup and jewelry.
4. Set a budget and don't budge!
5. Yeah, you're a junior: so what? If you wear a size 4 or smaller, try shopping in Girls' departments. For all sizes, the Boys' dept. has fabulous basics: tees, buttondowns, sweaters, etc.
6. Try a new store each time at the mall and shop out of your price range (under or over ) to find new looks.
7. Touch, touch touch. Judge an item by it's "feel."
8. Always try on and make no exceptions.
9. Don't be in a hurry: allot enough time.
10. Make sure you have on the right undergarments, especially for formal dresses, camisoles, etc.
