Cats Available for PreOrder!
Cheshire Cats Stitched and Argyle Smile are now available via preorder. To clarify, this means that once the cat is made and shipped to us, you will receive your order. If everything happens as it should, the Stitched cat plush sould be shipped to you by mid December 2010. The estimated time of release for the Argyle Smile plush is Summer 2011. (But could come out much sooner depending on how things go with the Stitched cat.)

>> ORDER YOURS TODAY!<<

Why Should I PreOrder?
1) Currently, it looks like there will only be 600 pieces of this cat plush made. If you don’t get one before the quantity runs out, you might not get one for a very long while.
2) Prices might rise depending on the factory cost. PreOrders will not reflect any increase.

PreOrders will stop once the cat plush is in.

Also, if you have already donated to the Alise and Goth Plush Doll Fund, please DO NOT buy a Stitched Cheshire Cat plush doll. You will receive one for free.

Possible Future of Cat Plush Dolls…
Currently we are working at pitching the Cheshire Cat plush to some companies. If the plush is picked up, then there will be more for everyone. And different styles might pop up quicker than we expect. So…

Want to Help Decide Which Cheshire Cat Plush Gets Made Next?
We have another poll for you all; you get to decide which cat will come out after Argyle Smile is made. The poll is below the cut because it’s obnoxiously long!
Summary: StiTcheS’ leads Ragdoll to an embarrassing scene; Gothica singing and dancing with her sister, Lolita. How will Gothica repay him?
—————————

It was day in the deep, dark woods, but not that you could tell. Birds were singing, squirrels were scurrying about, and a lone figure wandered. Ragdoll’s roaming had only recently been disturbed by finding a dead cat; however it was under the ownership of a pale, dark eyed, stranger with an evil smile. A brief run for it later and she was now here. However she still felt like she was being watched, timid as a mouse she looked over her shoulder keeping careful eye on her surroundings. And then a voice called out “Psst, over here!” This voice coupled with her weak heart resulted in her running and hiding behind the nearest tree. “Not there, here. Over here.” Ragdoll summoned a bit of courage to peek out of her hiding place. “You look scared, don’t be scared. I don’t bite…much.” And then the voice began to laugh. Ragdoll ducked back behind the tree a mulled about fleeing when the laughter stopped. “You know, I can go over there.” And then much closer. “In fact I am there now.” The poor girl’s heart skipped a beat, it was there on the other side…waiting. Accepting her fate she looked and found…nothing? She quickly looked around and found no one in sight; but as she thought she may have imagined the whole thing, she looked down and saw a doll. It was Gothica’s doll, to be precise, sitting there all alone.

Ragdoll was puzzled over this; Gothica was never seen without this doll, and yet here it was. She picked it up, wondering if it was safe to collect, when it yelled “BOO!” and she dropped it. StiTcheS hit the ground as Ragdoll backed away. “Ow.” He said. “What? You’ve never seen a talking doll before? Do mirrors exist in your little world?” He spoke as he got up with a smile. “Want to play a game?” Ragdoll felt more than a bit nervous. Firstly, this talking doll was Gothica’s talking doll, and secondly his smile gave an air of a mischievous nature, giving her more reason to back away. He noticed, “Hey, don’t be scared. I’m not gonna hurt ya.” Maybe it was his smile, but somehow she was not convinced.

“Where is Gothica, is she nearby?” Ragdoll asked.
“Of course.” He replied. “She’s just playing with her sister just down the way. Wanna see? I promise it will be fun.” He chuckled at the last statement.
Ragdoll felt a chill; the thought of Gothica and StiTcheS’ combined mischief was a scary thought indeed.

“Poke!” Ragdoll stumbled back nearly losing her balance as StiTcheS jabbed her knee. “Come on it’ll be fun…and cool, and even funny.” StiTcheS declared jumping up and down. Ragdoll could not help but sweat, the cold sort.
“How do I know this is not a trick?” She asked.
“Cause were alike, you and I.” StiTches said with a salute. “
How?”
“I got stitches in my head.” He said pointing at his stitching, he then jumped in to her arms and poked her head. “You got stitches in your head.” He got down. “See? We are very much alike.” The chill was now not as bad, as she breathed a slight sigh of relief. “So? Wanna see?”
“See what?”
“The show, it’s this way. Follow me.” With that he walked away beckoning her to follow. Still a bit nervous she did so, wondering what show there was to see.

The sight was a strange one, Lolita wearing purple beret, dress, and vest with a striped shirt beneath. Just as odd Gothica was wearing blue pants, a red and white striped dress, and a pink hat. This sight alone gave Ragdoll a reason giggle. And then there was the singing. “Like when two friends-Aren’t friends at first-They turn around and soon they’ve found the view’s reversed.” Lolita sang with a smile. “My friend!”
Gothica however looked grim. “Mon ami.” She sort of sang.
“Many thanks!”
“Merci”
The outfits and difference of opinion had Ragdoll giggling. “Thanks for taking time to let our friendship start!” Lolita continued with glee.
“My friend.” Gothica mumbled darkly.
“Mon ami!” Lolita continued.
“Thanks too, from me.”
“Merci aussi!”
“You opened my door and then my heart.” Gothica held her head at that lyric. Ragdoll found it hard not to laugh out loud. That Gothica had uttered those words, and in that order, while singing caused Ragdoll to fall on her back and go into a fit of laughter. And then she felt a chill, her laugh stopped. She looked up and saw Gothica’s cold eyes looking at her. She gulped. “How much of that did you see?”
“Er, well I…” Gothica grabbed Ragdoll by her vest. “How much did you see?!” She yelled. Ragdoll was not sure how to answer, she had seen much, and clearly Gothica was not happy about it.

She braced for the worst, when she heard laughter, and strangely Gothica heard it too. She put Ragdoll down and looked to where it was coming from. StiTcheS was holding his gut, laughing and rolling about.

“What’s so funny?” Gothica demanded.
“You should see the look you got! Hahaahahahah.” StiTcheS replied still laughing. Ragdoll was not sure what was going on, but Gothica seemed to figure it out.
“YOU LED HER HERE?!!!” Gothica yelled picking StiTcheS up. StiTcheS however did not seem concerned, laughing harder.

While glad she wasn’t being yelled at Ragdoll felt shaken from Gothica fury. Then she noticed Lolita was staring at her.
“Uh…hi?” Ragdoll muttered. Lolita appeared to muse on what to do and then did.
“Sally!” She yelled as she grabbed Ragdoll in a bear hug, lifting her off the ground. “Pretty, Pretty, Sally!” Ragdoll could not help but blush.
“I’m mortified.” She uttered, feeling Lolita’s warm embrace. “Lolita! Put her down, now!” Gothica yelled.
A bit shocked, Lolita did so. She looked somber. “What is wrong, my sister?” Oddly this had an effect on Gothica, she calmed down.
“It’s StiTcheS. He just pulled a prank on me.” She then turned her head to the side. “Who’s Sally?” She then asked.
“Well her hair isn’t red enough to be Raggedy Ann.” Lolita said with a smile. A pause. “Does little sister want a hug too?” Gothica’s eyes now had a look of terror. Just before she spoke Lolita glomped forth. Now she was in a bear hug, off the ground. “Does little sister feel better now?” Lolita said to Gothica, holding her tightly.
“Put me down, you little moron!” Was Gothica’s reply. Ragdoll watched this, wandering if it was ok to laugh, when she felt a tug. She turned a looked, and saw StiTcheS still smiling.
“W-what is it?”
“I probably shouldn’t tell you this…but do you know what she does at midnight?”
“What does she do at midnight?” At that StiTcheS smile grew wider. Gothica, still in Lolita’s arms, took notice.
“Oh no! What is he telling you now?”
Ragdoll said two words. “Tea parties?”
Gothica looked like she would faint, however Lolita looked interested. She let Gothica go and asked “Tea parties? I’d love to. When is it?”
“Midnight?” Ragdoll replied. StiTcheS began to laugh again. Gothica looked angry, and sad.

Despite what she heard, Ragdoll decided to forget about such tea parties. Gothica seemed angry enough about her knowing about it, as well as StiTcheS eagerness to tell her, were good reason to be asleep at midnight. However fate had other plans when she awoke to a knock at her door. Ragdoll covered her head with the covers; she would rather not have any more surprises.
“Come on, we’re going to be late.” Lolita spoke on the other side of the door. Ragdoll sighed, got up and opened the door, accepting her fate. As she opened the door a crack Lolita pulled it the rest of the way. “You ready for the Tea party?” She asked, wearing her PJs.
“Are you sure this is a good idea? You’re..um.. sister doesn’t seem too happy.”
“Oh don’t worry so much, she’ll be fine. Whah, we’re going to be late. Hop on!” Lolita yelled and quick succession as the picked up Ragdoll and effectively gave her a piggy back ride. Ragdoll wished she didn’t wear a skirt.

“Sorry we’re late. Has the party started?” Said Lolita to the shocked Alise, Lazuline, and a very depressed Gothica.
Alise spoke first. “Who, may I ask, invited you?”
“Um…” Was the most Lolita could think of.
“Can I get down now?” Asked an embarrassed Ragdoll.
“Oh, right, sure.” And then Ragdoll got down. Cheshire looked muddled, Angry panda just huffed, and StiTcheS began to chortle. Ragdoll watched as StiTcheS whispered to the other two. While panda still looked indifferent, Cheshire chuckled.
“Lazuline, did you tell them?” Lazuline sipped her tea and replied.
“No, I was thinking it was Gothica.”

At this Gothica put her head on the table with her arms over her head. StiTches responded by falling out of his chair laughing.
“Uh…can we have tea too?” Asked Lolita.
“We only have three cups.” Replied Lazuline.
“Is drinking from the kettle out?”
“Right out.” It was then that Alise noticed Cheshire waving to her. She walked over and it whispered something in her ear.
“Why is StiTcheS on the ground?” Asked Lolita.
“Gothica, won’t you pick him back up?”
“He can pick himself up.” Was Gothica’s cold reply.
“Ragdoll, can I speak with you a moment?” Asked Alise.
“Ok.” Ragdoll replied as she walked over.
“I believe StiTcheS is doing his best to embarrass Gothica.” Alise told her. “What do you think we should do? Gothica seems at wits end.”
“Do you think we could help her feel better?” Asked Ragdoll.
“I think the best way to help her would be to humble StiTches, I believe.” Alise replied. “How?” Asked Ragdoll. “If there was something to do to him Gothica would have thought of it.”
“You could ask.” Said Alise.

“No, I am not sharing my cup with you.” Gothica said to her sister. “Why did you come here?” “Well I heard about tea parties and wanted in. You could have told me about them.”
“Didn’t you think I would rather no one else know about them? Now you’re here you will probably embarrass me even more. Why can’t you act like a big sister for a change?” Gothica said with her head still down. Then she felt a hand on her head and another on her shoulder.
“I can be a big sister if you want.” At this Gothica looked and saw Lolita with a serious look for once.
“The heck?” Was Gothica only reply.
“Uh..,Gothica.” Gothica turned to see Ragdoll. “Have you thought of…getting back at StiTcheS?”
“Got any idea how?” Gothica replied. Ragdoll felt tense as Gothica and Lolita looked to her for a response. She knew little about how to torment someone, she wasn’t that type of person. Still she though, and oddly had an idea.
“Tickle torture?” Gothica slapped her head.
“I think it’s a great idea.” Said Lolita.
“How may I ask?” Replied Gothica. It was then that Lolita whispered something into Gothica’s ear. “That is a great idea!” Gothica said with a smile.

Ragdoll, Alise, Lazuline, Cheshire, and Angry panda watched as Lolita and Gothica walked up to StiTcheS.
“Oh Lolita!”
“Yes sister of mine.”
“Let’s play with StiTcheS.” StiTcheS, who had been watching other events came to a funny conclusion and now looked nervous seeing the bright, smiling pair of sisters. It looked at Ragdoll and said. “Ok, now were a little too much alike.”
“Duel tickle fest.” The pair yelled in unison as they tackled StiTcheS. While few would hear StiTcheS high pitched, painful laughter, even Angry panda found it hard to not laugh.
“Well she’s now in the best of spirits.” Alise told Ragdoll. “I found a few spare cups. Want to join us?”
“Sure!” Was Ragdoll’s reply.

Title: A Little Too Dark | Author: Dead | Rating: PG | Word Count: 882 | Features: Flower Girl and Honeybee
Summary: Flower Girl finds new warmth.
—————————

She could hear him coming, his heavy feet pounded in her ears. She felt no fear; the tingle in her nose did little to bother her. He would pay for that punch. She got in to position. He kicked the door in and entered the room. “Where are you? You freak, come on out!? His fist was still red. From above she watched as he looked quickly at each corner. He was scared; they all were when she came. “Leave me alone! Do you hear me?! Mess with me again and I’ll really let you have it.” His eyes darted about the room as he walked underneath her. It was the time to strike.

Incidentally a drop of her blood fell from her nose to the top of his head. He froze; slowly he put his hand on his head and looked at his palm. He looked up and saw her, his eyes widened as he backed away. She let go of the webbing she was hanging from and landed less than a foot from him. Despite his threats his fists were not balled as he tumbled back from her cold face. “Buy my flowers or suffer me.” He had no idea what was to come, just like the rest of them. His screams and pleas would keep you awake at night. It was like before, for her, what she did to her bullies. Now he was just like them, broken eyes staring at nothing, his mouth gibbering muttered nonsense, his mind mad with fear. That look reminded her of that day when her flowers burned, where she was he now sees.

Flower Girl returned home; at least home to her. She had food and a roof over her head, but to a degree she did not think of such things. She would get something to eat, and then go tend to her garden. Her flowers needed her. A hand touched her shoulder.

“Flower Girl, is that you?” Bees were buzzing, it was Honeybee.
“I’m busy.” She quickly said. And she continued on her way, leaving Honeybee behind. Such things did not concern Flower Girl; her flowers concerned her, and a bit of revenge. She sat down, ate dinner, got up, and left the manor. At least that was the plan.

“Please wait.” That voice called out. Flower Girl did not turn, she knew who it was. “Can’t I help, or maybe hang out?”
“I’m busy.” She again spoke.
“Working in your secret garden?” Honeybee responded. She turned at this, giving Honeybee a cold, cutting glare that would knock Glaive or Heartless for a loop. However, Honeybee was not affected. A short pause. “What’s wrong?” Honeybee asked, not aware of the look on Flower Girl’s face. Flower Girl might have been impressed by Honeybee’s bravery, if she cared. She turned to walk away.

“Can’t I be your friend?” Honeybee asked.
“I hurt people.” Flower Girl quickly said. “I inspire fear and pain into others.” She figured a bit of truth might help scare the small child off, but strangely it did not.
“And?” Honeybee asked leaning her head to the side; it wasn’t asked in sarcasm, it was an honest question.
“I’m dark, I’m cold, and I want to be left alone.”
“Don’t you feel lonely?”
“I have my flowers.”
“I like flowers.” Flower Girl turned to face her, Honeybee was still insistent. Why couldn’t she do what the others do and leave her be. Maybe she needed more fear? “How do you know I’m not evil?”
“Well, you never joined the Loveless; I know that for a fact. In fact, if what I heard is true you would be opposed to them.”

Flowers Girl’s eyes grew wide, that was a good point. With the terrified faces she remembered, and the odd history the Loveless, they would be glad to have her. Not that she would join them, and the idea of them crumbling before her gave her reason to smile. Still, this felt uncomfortable, with a small child telling her all this, and worse said child wanted to follow her. It really wasn’t a matter of being a little too dark. It was more of the fact she preferred to be alone. She vaguely remembered being happy with people before…before…

“You’re trembling.” Flower girl snapped out of thought, finding Honeybee’s hand on her shoulder and her other hand on her face. “And you are crying?” Honeybee said with concern. Flower Girl felt sick, the image she remembered made her lose her reason to live. Her broken, tearful eyes, and the burning inferno that was once her happy garden, and the numerous laughing faces that enjoyed every moment of it. They needed to pay, and they did, and yet…she felt pain inside. Flower Girl grabbed Honeybee’s arm, but she did not run, instead the girl surprised her. Honeybee wrapped her arms around and hugged her.

“It’s ok.” Honeybee said softly. “I’m here.” Flower Girl was not sure what to do about this. She felt warmer now then she has felt in years and found her arms wrapping around Honeybee. No one was there for her when her garden burned, or before when she was bullied. What friends she had were useless when it mattered most. And yet being in the arms of another felt much better than not.

Title: Workshop | Author:Sheena Bandy | Rating: G | Word Count: 568 | Features: Alise, Ragdoll, Lilith and Seven
Summary: The PM dolls on their usual kind of day.
—————————

Small black feathers littered the floor as suede mittens flapped delicately limp wings, making the bird seem almost alive. Alise watched quietly, flapping the arms of her Cheshire cat doll in a similar fashion, though her actions remained unnoticed to lil’ Ragdoll. The tree above them shook slightly, several of its leaves falling to join the feathers on the floor. Alise looked up to see the yellow yarn hair falling over the face of the confused Lilith, hanging by her strings from one of the lower branches. How she’d managed to get herself caught in such a manner is always a mystery to Ragdoll and Alise, but Lilith wouldn’t be able to explain it, so neither of her friends asked.

Ragdoll silently placed the fowl on her soft cloth head and shimmied herself up the waxy trunk of the houseplant. Surely Lilith would learn at some point in the future. They just had to patient and helpful in the meantime.

The puppetry fell with a wooden clank on the floor as Lilith climbed out of Alise’s gentle arms, surrendering her intrusion of Cheshire’s rightful place.
“Lil’ Lilith,” Seven sighed, appearing as if from thin air behind the smaller house plant, “Have you had another moment?”

Lilith reached for her chipped cross and raised it to Seven’s waiting fingers. She soon rose up into strong hands and carried toward the workshop. Ragdoll swung down from the branch, her bird falling to the floor with a thud, and quickly followed Seven’s intentionally slow footsteps.

Alise kicked bemusedly at the bird with her foot, careful not to contract the odors that would accompany lil’ Ragdoll for days to come.

Ragdoll caught up with Seven and lightly pulled at her long kimono. Seven’s large hands reached down and pulled the orphan doll from the cold floor and into warm, welcoming arms. Lilith seemed to still be pondering the cracking of her cross and the tearing of her dress as they were both placed down on the workshop table.

“How long had the bird been still?” Seven asked gently, reaching for the cleaning rag she’d used on lil Ragdoll so many times before.

Ragdoll shrugged, as always, as the damp cloth and soap began to wipe down her fabric hair and small paws. Lilith soon pulled the cross onto her shoulder and carried herself to the supply box. Seven continued her meticulous cleaning of her boarder as Lilith returned with a spool and needle, handing them pleadingly to her friend.

Seven reached for the sealant and began repairing the strings and wooded cross that had been damaged in Lilith’s tumble from the tree. Ragdoll took the needle and thread in her hands and began repairing the rips in Lilith’s dress. Lilith pushed her hair back into its perfect position and examined Ragdoll’s work on her skirt. She had a few creases in her skirt from the wear and tear she’d put the perfect little dress through.

Seven sanded down the wood finish and wiped the surface clean. She examined the masterwork of her lil Ragdoll and lifted the two orphaned toys into her arms. Soon the sound of ticking caught her attention and she released the girls to the floor before scooping up lil clockwork for her daily winding.

Lil Ragdoll took Lilith by the hand and led her from the workshop. Clockwork didn’t like the other toys to see her gears.

I got Alise’s Cheshire Cat doll samples in, and I have to say that I’m excited about them! (They are larger than I originally thought they’d be. Yay!) There is one matter on these samples that I’d like opinions on. Currently the cats’ limbs are not filled with anything. They are light and floppy. There has been some debate on whether or not the limbs should stay as they are or be filled with pellets. (I’d say, lightly filled at the tips of the limbs. Not the entire limb.) So, please give us your opinion on the matter!

Before you squee with uncontrollable excitment, no, Alise and Goth are not quite there yet. However, I’m looking into funding a very small run of 600 Cheshire Cat plush toys! These plush dolls will be around 8-12 inches; I’m not sure exactly what size they are because I haven’t received the factory sample yet. (Will post pictures once I get the sample in.)

If you’ve donated to the Alise and Goth doll fund, please DO NOT BUY a Cheshire Cat doll; you will get one for FREE. Let’s just say it’s a small ‘thank you’ for your contribution and faith in the series.

The turnaround is the image that was sent to the factory. From there they made a sample and sent me pics. I’m hoping to keep the retail price of the plush doll around $10, but I’ll know for sure once I see it in person. My desire is to have them for NYAF, but there is so little time to get a run made!

I know I’m getting WAY ahead of myself, but if this run is successful, there may be other crazy Cheshire designs for those who desire patterns and bright colors. You may even get to choose which Cat doll comes out next!

I’m trying to come up with ideas to make this design even more unique, and I was thinking about removable limbs, or interchangeable heads. If you have any ideas, feel free to throw them at me!

As usual, all profits will be going back into PM merchandise; like more dolls, shirts, etc.

It has been confirmed; Precious Miseries will be in the 2010 Artist Alley! Unfortunately since the alleys are split into 2D and 3D, I will not be allowed to sell StiTcheS ‘plush action figures’ at the convention. However I will try to restock my supply of t-shirts! I made a short run of Mu shirts for this past Ikkicon and they practically all went! (I do have some left from the con and the few that I had no room to pack. I will be selling them via direct email. Let me know if you are interested in a Mu shirt by emailing Precious Miseries. First come first serve and only a few designs and sizes are left.)

Ninja StiTcheS Shirts
I ended up selling the Mu shirts for less than what I had initially planned; one shirt for ten dollars and two for fifteen. I sold them so cheap because it cost me less to make them that I had originally thought. The next run of shirt will have to be a little more expensive though. The Mu shirt was a one color process with two runs per shirt (front and back), but the Ninja StiTcheS shirt will be two colors and three runs (front and back). I’m thinking thirteen to fourteen dollars per Ninja StiTcheS shirt might be reasonable. I’ll also see about baby tees; if they are too expensive I’ll have to pass it up for this round and hope for baby tees during the next t-shirt run.

Special Edition Robo StiTcheS shirts will be considered an exclusive and might be available soon via convention raffles!

Robo StiTcheS Shirts
If I can manage, I also plan to hold a raffle for three (one per day) exclusive Robo StiTcheS shirts! What makes it so special, you ask? Well, it will have multicolored foil and will glow in the dark. (Crosses fingers)

Convention Merchandise
All the normal convention sellers, aside from the StiTcheS plush, will be sold; prints, postcards, buttons, badges and now, hopefully t-shirts!! Since there is still some time before the convention; feel free to make some suggestions for new merchandise designs! If there is a button or badge you’d like to see, just post here or email me about it and I’ll see if I can make it for the con! (Something small like buttons or badges are more realistic than illustrations. Please keep that in mind!)

Also, I do have an ‘in progress’ list of conventions I’d like to attend and will confirm when/if I get an Artist Alley table space.

Starting next year I want to give back to my extraordinary fans who have taken PM fandom to a whole new level. I’d like to make it an annual tradition in which one fan is chosen near the end of the year to receive a special little something from me.

There is NO contest for who the first time ‘winner’ of the Precious Miseries Fan of the Year prize is. She’s been a huge fan since the beginning and has stuck with PM through thick and thin. She’s purchased almost all (if not all) available PM merchandise and has always sent me feedback and suggestions! (Which I love to read.) She also been a huge help in spreading the online word about Precious Miseries. In 2007 she founded the livejournal fan community, PM Revolution, and she has faithfully updated the community since.

The first Fan of the Year prize goes to Stargoth. Since she’s been doing all this on her own, since 2007, I’d like to really do something special for her. She’ll be receiving a one of kind, custom made t-shirt with any two Precious Miseries characters she chooses. She’ll also receive the original, signed, art the t-shirt was designed from. On the back of the t-shirt will be a custom note of appreciation written specifically for her. She will also be sent three free shirts of choice, from future store merchandise. (Shirts soon to be made)

Congratulations Stargoth and thank you for being an extraordinary fan!
