Some of the tests that they perform at the doctors office can be harmful to a pregnant women, and they will skip these for you. Even if there is only a small chance you could be pregnant, you need to speak up.&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;  Sleep as much as you want while you are pregnant. Sleep is in short supply for the parents of newborns. Also, while pregnant, your baby is eating up much of your available energy. Don't be afraid to sleep in, go to bed early, or nap when you want to. You won't be able to later!&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;  For pregnant women in their third trimester, try to sleep on your left side. Sleeping this way gives your fetus the best blood supply and also allows blood to easily flow to your kidneys and uterus. Try to avoid sleeping on your back, it is the worst position for blood flow.&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;  Be sure to be checked for sexually transmitted diseases if you are pregnant. These diseases can cause you and your baby serious health problems if left untreated. Many tests for sexually transmitted diseases can be done through urine, blood or pap smear. If you have one, you may have to deliver via C-section.&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;  Just like everyone else does, pregnant women should make sure to protect their skin before spending an abundant amount of time in the sun. A woman's skin is more sensitive when they are pregnant and they can easily be sunburned, which in turn, could eventually cause more serious problems like skin cancer.&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;  Don't stop using a seat belt in your car while driving or riding as a passenger. The danger to your baby from the seat belt is much less than the danger from you being loose in the car in the event of a crash. Make sure the belt is as low on your hips as possible, preferably underneath your belly.&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;  You should change your eating habits to include healthy choices. If you change the way you eat now, when you become pregnant you will continue to eat healthy. You should eat a variety of foods but make sure they are healthy choices. Proper nutrition is important while trying to conceive.&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;  Add 300-500 calories a day to your diet while you are pregnant. Don't forget you are eating for two so you definitely need to increase your caloric intake. Make sure however that you are adding healthy calories into your diet. Adding 500 calories of junk food isn't going to do anything to help you and the baby.&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;  For pregnant women, make sure that you stretch your legs, before going to sleep every night. This is because many pregnant women get intense muscle cramps while they are sleeping, which could be easily prevented, if they stretch.
