I hope you all had a nice and warm Valentine's Day! Yesterday i made this  special cherry cheese cake with lot of love for my hubby and daughter.Both enjoyed the cake.Here am sharing the recipe for you guys.

Ingredients:

150g crushed marie biscuits
60g melted butter
20g gelatin
60ml warm water
3 egg yolks
150g sugar
150ml milk(fresh/UHT)
250g cream cheese
250g dairy whipping cream

Today I am featuring my Grand ma’s simple வெந்தய  குழம்பு  recipe.Most of the people have their own twist on traditional recipes,like my grand ma add shallots to Vendhaya kuzhambu which gives mild taste and nice flavour to the kuzhambu.Do try this delicious kuzhambu and enjoy.

2 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp mustard seeds

1/4 cup lemon juice
4 tbsp sugar(adjust according to your taste)

Thakkali Kuzhambu is very famous in my home town.I had Thakkali Kuzhambu recently in Saravana Bhavan they used Manatha thakkali vathal in it.The tastes was really good.So I wanted to make this kuzhambu at home.It came out so well and taste delicious.



For Thakali Kuzhambu,Choose ripe tomatoes for good taste.

This chutney tastes really good with idly and dosas.Here i used  split and skinned Urad dal which gives nice aroma for the chutney and healthy too.You can use skinless Urad dal also.

1/2 cup Urad dal 2 Dry red chilliA generous pinch,Hing2 tbsp Grated Coconut1 tsp Gingerly oilsalt as needed

The most simple of all flavoured rice is jeera rice.After Jeera rice this is my fav.It is very easy and quick Lunch box menu.kids who doen’t eat much spicy foods would also love this rice.


Ingredients:


1 and 1/2 tsp Pepper
2 tsp Jeera/Cumin
1 cup cooked Rice
Salt as needed


For Tempering:


2 tbsp Ghee
1 tsp Urad dal
1 tsp Bengal gram dal
10 Cashew nuts
3-4 Garlic Pods(optional)
