We all know the importance of productivity, especially those of us working in freelance. Each of us is as eager as the next to find the key to improving our workflow – saving on wasted time and money. But how many of us would be willing to let go of our deeply ingrained models of working and change our habits, in order to embrace something unfamiliar but effective?

The Agile Manifesto

Agile philosophy is that something. You’ve probably heard of it – it’s been huge in web development for over a decade – but do you really understand what it’s all about? And what’s more, how it can apply to you, as a designer?

To start, the agile philosophy values these concepts:
• Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
• Working software over comprehensive documentation
• Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
• Responding to change over following a plan

All well and good for developers, but this reactive philosophy that strives to accommodate change instead of pre-empting it can be relevant for designers, too.

Working with an agile philosophy means starting with a client’s basic idea and foregoing a big upfront design in favor of consistently delivering smaller, valuable increments of a project. As each of these is completed, the client gives feedback which can be acted on immediately, before moving on to the next element. These small cycles, or ‘iterations’ last from one to two weeks, and after a series, each element can be put together to create one final, cohesive product.

In short, communicate well and communicate often in order to design well and deliver often.

If this still sounds far from anything you feel you can implement in order to improve your workflow, hang in there. With agile in mind, here are three useful, design tips that, if followed, should increase your efficiency significantly.

1. Forego Meticulous Research and Upfront Design

An agile design approach requires small iterations, and this means you won’t be delivering a large, upfront proposal to your clients. Instead of taking large amounts of time to produce static PSD mock-ups of the entire site, use the time before your first iteration (known as iteration zero) to do your groundwork.

Ask yourself:
• What does your client envision?
• What features are they aiming for?
• Why are they building the site?
• Who are their users?

Your research here will not be as painstaking as you’re used to, but answering these questions should give you enough of a design vision, enough of a sense of your client’s aesthetic style and brand, to get started and see real results – which is what agile is all about.

You can still design, but the point is that it’s not about perfectionism and ‘counting pixels’ in the early stages. Your aim is to create something workable – rapid prototyping in order to see your designs ‘in browser’ straightaway, so you can get the feedback you need to improve.

If you’re still uncomfortable with this approach, think how frustrating it can be to spend infinite amounts of time working on a carefully constructed design, only for your client to be unhappy with the final product.

By avoiding upfront activities, you will avoid this happening and develop a much deeper understanding of the whole project, and will become far more results driven.

2. Think Continuous Integration, (Scrum and Deliverables)

The success of agile lies truly in the concept of continuous integration. By testing a product continuously throughout its development, issues can be discovered and resolved throughout the process and changing requirements can be taken into account as and when they are realized.

The organization of design into specified time frames, or ‘sprints’, that work on specific user stories, allows you to work on what you know and only what you know about the site’s desired functionality. This means you’re able to create a working product (by prototyping in HTML) based on your client’s highest priority, get their feedback, adapt your work, and then move on to the next priority. This is repeated, and your work refined as you go along.

Scrumming (which are short, daily meetings) allows for scheduled brainstorming sessions that contribute to the development of the end product by encouraging critical reflection on iterations as they are completed and tested and thinking of new ideas to apply as the project progresses.

Although a slightly crude account of the scrum process, what is being highlighted here is the importance of adaptation throughout the entire process of creating a website.

3. Communicate Consistently and Clearly

• With Your Client
This means keeping your client involved throughout the design process, continuously explaining your ideas to ensure that you are both on (and that you both stay on) the same page. Once you’ve presented your ideas, listen to their concerns and always keep their needs at the forefront of your mind, then create solutions accordingly.

By remaining in constant communication, you are continuously being reminded of the overall goal and are able to make sure that you, as a designer, are not going off on an unnecessary tangent, spending hours on an element of a site that your client never wanted.

Using an agile framework means concepts you’ve worked hard on shouldn’t get thrown out, and if they do, you won’t have wasted a huge amount of time perfecting it.

The other benefit of communication is that you will be able to gain valuable insight into how your designs are being interpreted, and this will help keep you on the right track, as well as help you develop as a designer.

• With Your Team
Due to the fragmented nature of the agile philosophy, cohesive design can be difficult. Communicating with your team is just as important as communicating with your client, and taking advantage of daily brainstorming sessions can help you create a unified feel from something that may initially feel disjointed.

Finally…

Admittedly, designing in this way is not initially intuitive. You might feel that by producing a deliverable, you’re committing to something that you’re not completely enamored with. The whole point though, is that agile is a test-driven process, and feedback is imperative.

In order to avoid stagnation and keep our industry moving forward, we need to borrow from the agile philosophies of developers. Although we approach things from different a perspective, the agile philosophy is flexible enough to suit a design approach as well as a developer’s.

QUICK GUIDE

There are two ways of installing the Theme for your WordPress installation.

INSTALLATION VIA FTP

Extract the themeforest package you recieved to any folder on your harddrive. The archive contains several folders. You will need to copy the “Revenant” folder which contains the theme data to your wordpress installations theme folder on your server. Example of a destination folder: http://yourserver/wordpress/wp-content/themes/. The resulting file structure will look like this: http://yourserver/wordpress/wp-content/themes/Revenant/. Next go to your WordPress installation admin panel to appearence/themes. You will see theRevenant theme listed along with other themes. Press Activate and the theme will be active in a moment.

INSTALLATION DIRECTLY FROM YOUR WORDPRESS INSTALLATION

Go to Appearance/Themes and click on the tab Install Themes. Now click on the upload button and choose the zip called Revenant.zip. After the Theme uploads to the server simply click on Activate and your brand new theme will be ready to use.

To make the theme look like our live preview and for it to function properly it should be installed in the following order:

PROPER INSTALLATION PROCESS

1. Install the Revenant WordPress Theme

2. Import Demo WordPress demo content (can be found on http://themesupport.premiumcoding.com)

3. Import Demo Content for the Revolution Slideshow

INSTALLATION OF WPML PLUGIN (for extra languages)

In case you also need WPML plugin (for translations into extra languages). Please note that you need this only if you want more then 1 language at once.

If you just need translations into another language (like German) and you will only have this language you can translate it from Theme’s admin.

1. Install WPML (sitepress-multilingual-cms), which can be found here http://wpml.org/

3. Install String translation plugin (wpml-string-translation), which can be found on the site http://wpml.org/

Now you are ready to start translating into extra languages.

How installation of languages is done can be read and learned at

http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/

IMPORTING DEMO CONTENT

We have prepared a XML file with demo content to help you get started with the Theme. Pay a visit to our support forum and look for the topic called Revenant - Responsive Business WordPress Theme. Now download the appropriate zip file. Please note that we have put the demo content on our support forums with the sole purpose of preventing the pirates to get the demo content also.

SETTING UP THE HOME PAGE

First you will have to select which page is the front page. Go to Settings / Reading and check the Static Page Tab. Then select the home page you wish to have ( Home, Home nivo, etc.), this will be one of the Pages that you created with the Aqua Page Builder. So the procedure should be:

1. First add a page (Pages / Add New) and choose the appropriate Template

2. Go to Settings / Reading and add the Static Page Tab that you just created

Setting up the Navigation

When going to Appearance / Menus you will see the structure of the templates navigation. You can easily edit menu labels, and move them using drag and drop. On the left column you have the possibility to add menu items using “custom links”, “pages” or “categories”. The newly added item will appear at the bottom of the menu structure and can be moved to its desired location. Make sure to always save the menu after making changes.

There are 4 menus that you have to set. Main menu, Top Navigation Menu, Footer menu, Scroll Menu and Responsive menu. Responsive menu will only be visible on small resolutions (like on mobile devices).

SETTING UP POSTS (VIDEO, LINK, GALLERY)

Revenant supports the latest feature of WordPress that allows you to add specific posts that contain video, links or gallery. Videos and Gallery will appear on the front of the Blog page so visitors can run the video or look at the gallery without clicking on the post itself. Below are instructions of how to set it up:

SETTING UP PAGES

Pages are created with the Page Builder. Simply create the page you wish to have and then copy the page shortcode to the new Page you will create. Now simply add that Page to the menu and you are done. Follow the video tutorials above for more detailed instructions.

THEME OPTIONS

HOME SETTINGS

Here you can set which elements should be displayed. You can choose between quote text, featured items, recent products, featured products, recent portfolios, recent posts and your major brands / advertisers. Also select how many recent posts and portfolio items you wish to display on the front page. You will notice that you can set this for either just posts, just portfolio items or both at the same time. Settings will be valid automatically for each setting accordingly, based on which template for the front page you select.

HOME CONTENT SETTINGS

Here you can set the upper menu (mobile number, mail,…) . All other blocks are set in the Page Builder.

GENERAL SETTINGS

There are only two elements that can be set in main settings. Upload your Logo and favicon. You can use the upload form or simply enter the URL to the image. Here is also the place to enter the Google Analytics code to track your traffic. When you create a Google Analytics account you will get a code that you need to add to your website. Copy and paste it here under the Google Analytics text field.

STYLING OPTIONS

Styling options will allow you to add and edit your background and select the Theme’s leading color.

The most important setting in the styling area is the Theme’s leading color. This is the color that will consistently repeat throughout the whole Theme. Simply enter the color in hexadecimal format or select it with the color picker.

Shadow Color is the color of the shadow used on fonts. If you have dark font on a light background color then a white shadow will look good. If you have white font on darker background then a black shadow will look good.

Shadow opacity defines how transparent the shadow is.

BODY BACKGROUND

It can be a simple color (be sure to uncheck the Enable Background Image parameter if you wish to use only color).

Check Enable Background Image if you wish to use a custom background pattern instead of a plain color. After you have checked this settings simply click on the background pattern that you wish to use.

If none of the background patterns is suitable you can also upload your own. Simply upload your own pattern and the Theme will override the settings above and use your custom background pattern.

SLIDER OPTIONS

Slideshows are now set in the Page builder, but you can also create some here and then pull them There. Settings for IOS, Nivo and Full width Slideshows are described below. Settings for Revolution Slider which is the Premium Slider of the Theme are described in a section above.

Images for the main slideshow (ios slideshow, full width and nivo) are added and edited in this section. Recommended size of the images is 1650px width for Full width slideshow, height can be of any size since the slider is dynamic and will adjust the height accordingly (can be seen in live preview). Optimal images are those that are transparent which will also make the main color look great. Recommended size for Nivo Slideshow is 1180px x 400px and for IOS Slideshow it is 1180px X 420px.

Click on Add New Slide to start adding images to the Slideshow. Now set the title, content text and URL. Image can be uploaded via upload form or simply enter the URL to the image. After you have finished adding the images you can sort them with a convenient drag and drop feature. Simply click on the image tab and drag it to the desired position.

Images are now added and sorted and it is time to set the size and color of the fonts. Simply set the size and color with the color picker.

Background color defines the color of the text holder. Simply pick the desired color with the color picker.

Background transparency is a parameter that defines how transparent is the text holder (0 – invisible, 1 – fully visible).

Border color of text holder defines the color of the thin border around the text holder. If you wish the border to be invisible simply set it to the same color as the text holder.

Transition Time defines how long the animation between images takes on transition. Time is set in miliseconds (default is 1000ms).

Time of Appearance defines how long each image is shown. Time is set in miliseconds (normal value is something between 5000ms and 10000 ms).

As learning is best from examples, we prepared HTML code for all our three examples for full width Slideshow on our support portal. You will find examples for the 4 CD’s that animates down and the 3 computer devices. Check out:

http://themesupport.premiumcoding.com/

for all examples.

SETTING UP IOS SLIDESHOW

IOS Slideshow is a premium slideshow with drag and drop feature. Setting it up is simple. First go to theme’s options and choose Slider options. Add new slide and set up the title and upload the image to it. Recommended size of the images is 1180px X 420px. If you wish to add the description also (like in the first slide in our live preview) where it moves up on hover, you need to also add the Description. You can use HTML code so styling is up to you. Our example uses the following code:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consecte<br>
adipiscing elit. Fusce at justo eget lorem <br>
port titor tincidunt.<br>
<br>
<span style = “color:#98B827;font-weight:bold;”>Check the Product</span>

TYPOGRAPHY SETTINGS

You can set all main typography settings in this section. First define the font family, size, color and style of the body font. All body font (content text, links, paragraphs,…) will now use this settings unless specified otherwise in style.css file.

Now define the font family and color for the headings. Sizes are defined for each heading seperately (H1, H2, H3 and H4, H5, H6).

SOCIAL OPTIONS

Social options section allows you to add and edit your social icons. Currently there is support for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Dribble and email. First you need to check which ones you want on your Theme. After that simply enter the links to your social profiles.

404 ERROR PAGE

This is the page which will show everytime your visitor writes a wrong URL or if simply the page that should be on your website doesn’t exist. Enter the title and description text and you are ready to go.

FOOTER OPTIONS

Footer settings section allows you to enter a short sentence about copyright or some other notice.

TRANSLATION OPTIONS

Theme allows you to translate all the main aspects of the Theme (buttons, social icons,…). Simply enter your translation and save.

SHORTCODES

Revenant comes with over 70 premade shortcodes. To add them while writing a post or a page simply click on the yellow folder icon that says Theme Shortcodes.

The main driver which takes the business towards success is the advertisement. Without appropriate advertisement the customers will not be able to get familiar with the product and services of the business. Advertisements can be done by different mediums such as billboards, newspapers, radio, television and internet.

WHAT A CLASSIFIED AD IS

Classified ads have been very common these days. Classified is a heading under which different ads of different categories are available. Starting from the sale of a product to the recruitment of employees, from the sale of pets and plants to tuition providers and rental houses anything can be displayed. The classified ad providers target the customer for your ads as per the suitability criteria such as geographical location and the targeted society.

When you wish to have your classified ads being shown you need to provide your e-mail address so that your classified ads can be associated with it. Along with ads you need to provide images and descriptions related to your products in order to provide some information about your product to your prospective customers.

The classified ads on the internet work as a link that pops up when the user is busy working with some of his own work. That popping link of classified ads makes the user aware of the products or services a business is providing and in turn the business gets its customers.

If a classified ad is being printed in a newspaper the size of the ad is reduced because the more huge size of the ad is the more cost it incurs. Classified ads have been flourishing day by day as many customers are now more interested in having a look at these ads by sitting at home.

WHERE TO PLACE CLASSIFIED ADS

Classified ads being shown on the internet are not always the paid ones. Many websites provide an opportunity to the businesses to get their ads placed on websites free of cost. These websites provide a boost to the revenues of the new business by letting them reduce their expenditure on advertising.

For past few years the market for the classified ads have been increased tremendously. In the year 2003 there was a huge increase in the classified ad market with the figure being quoted for printing classified ads being $15.9 billion and the online classified ads being $14.1 billion. Although since the past 3 to 4 years there is a severe decline in the classified ads printing in the newspapers as there has been an excessive increase in the placement of online classified ads. The rise in the trend of the online classified ads is because of the increase in the number of internet users all over the world.

There are two different ways of getting your advertisement being placed on the internet. One is the paid placement and the second one is the free of cost placement of classified ads. The free classified ads placement gives an opportunity to many newly entered business to sell their products without incurring advertisement costs. Whereas the paid ads charge over the number of times an action is being clicked. These online classified ads give an opportunity to businesses to earn the best of their sales with incurring almost negligible cost of advertisement.

WordPress is powering over 15% of all the websites today and has lost the blogging etiquette long time ago. But still, some of you might prefer to hide the fact that your website is powered by WordPress. This is when Hide My WP Wordpress Plugin comes in handy. While hiding the fact your site is being powered by WordPress, is mostly cosmetic, the real usability of this plugin is, that it can protect your site from spammers, robots and unsafe plugins also.

Hide My WP is a WordPress Plugin which hides WordPress and controls access to PHP files. It protects your site from 95% of SQL-Injection and XSS attacks. This means you can install unsafe plugins without worry about security.

Some of the core functions of the plugin are:

Hide wp-login.php

Hide wp-admin and all of its files (for untrusted users)

Change WordPress theme directory, remove theme Info from stylesheet, replace default WP classes and finally minify it!

Change plugins directory and hash plugins name

Change upload URL, wp-includes folder, AJAX URL, etc.

Change WordPress queries URL

Change author permalink (or disable it!)

Change or disable feeds

Hide all other WordPress files!

Disable WordPress archives, categories, tags, pages, posts, etc

Some extra features:

Easily replace any words in your html output file!

Notify you when someone is mousing about your WordPress site (included with visitor details like IP, user agent, referrer and even username!)

Compress html output and remove comments in source code

Remove WordPress meta Info from header and feeds

Change default WordPress email sender

Custom 404 page!

Remove unnecessary menu classes

Clean up body classes

In reality this means that not only your visitors will be unaware that your website is based on WordPress CMS, but also the potential attackers. We all know that hackers, spammers and robots all love to attack WordPress Websites. Hide My WP simply prevents them to recognize your WordPress site and simply ignore you! It is a unique and brilliant solution and the plugin will be a bestseller with no doubts. You can read more about the plugin on Codecanyon, where it is for sale for $20. Not much for the best solution to hide WordPress.

QUICK GUIDE

There are two ways of installing the Theme for your WordPress installation.

INSTALLATION VIA FTP

Extract the themeforest package you recieved to any folder on your harddrive. The archive contains several folders. You will need to copy the “Camy” folder which contains the theme data to your wordpress installations theme folder on your server. Example of a destination folder: http://yourserver/wordpress/wp-content/themes/. The resulting file structure will look like this: http://yourserver/wordpress/wp-content/themes/Camy/. Next go to your WordPress installation admin panel to appearence/themes. You will see the Camytheme listed along with other themes. Press Activate and the theme will be active in a moment.

INSTALLATION DIRECTLY FROM YOUR WORDPRESS INSTALLATION

Go to Appearance/Themes and click on the tab Install Themes. Now click on the upload button and choose the zip called Camy.zip. After the Theme uploads to the server simply click on Activate and your brand new theme will be ready to use.

To make the theme look like our live preview and for it to function properly it should be installed in the following order:

PROPER INSTALLATION PROCESS

1. Install the Camy WordPress Theme

2. Install the Woocommerce plugin (with woocommerce pages)

3. Import Demo WordPress demo content (can be found on http://themesupport.premiumcoding.com)

2. Install woocommerce-multilingual.zip, which can be found in the zip of the theme called plugins

Pay a visit to our support forum and look for the topic called Camy - Responsive Ecommerce WordPress Theme.

Then select the home page you wish to have ( Home, Home nivo, etc.). So the procedure should be:

1. First add a page (Pages / Add New) and choose the appropriate Template
2. Go to Settings / Reading and add the Static Page Tab that you just created

SETTING UP PORTFOLIO ITEMS ON THE FRONT PAGE

Go to portfolio -> Portfolio categories

Add some Categories

Add portfolio items (it is the same as adding posts) and set the featured image

Add the page and set the portfolio as the template for the page (2 column portfolio, 3 column portfolio or 4 column portfolio)

Main menu, Top Navigation Menu, Footer menu and Responsive menu. Responsive menu will only be visible on small resolutions (like on mobile devices)

SETTING UP PRODUCTS

After you install WooCommerce plugin you will see a new tab called Products. Click Add New to start adding a new product. Adding content is similar to adding content to a normal post with a few exceptions which are a part of our Theme.

If you wish to have video presentation instead of an image on the shop and product page, simply check the option. Use video insted of image. After checking it a field for URL will appear. Add the ID of the video, for youtube it looks like: WhBoR_tgXCI and for vimeo it looks like 29017795.

On some products you can see a special text on hover (in shop page), like playlist or plain text. You can add that by adding content to the Custom Hover Text field. You can add the HTML text also, so you can style it in any way you want.

SETTING UP POSTS (VIDEO, LINK, GALLERY)

Camy supports the latest feature of WordPress that allows you to add specific posts that contain video, links or gallery. Videos and Gallery will appear on the front of the Blog page so visitors can run the video or look at the gallery without clicking on the post itself. Below are instructions of how to set it up:

Video Post - you have to add at the top of the post the following shortcode [video][/video]. The rest of the content is added in a standard way. Choose Video from the Format list on the right.

Link Post - you have to add at the top of the post the following shortcode [pmc_link]http://premiumcoding.com[/pmc_link]. The rest of the content is added in a standard way. Choose Link from the Format list on the right.

Audio Post - This post will enable you to have a small audio player in the blog and post. Simply select Audio post and input the link to the audio file and set the Title of the song.

Gallery Post - Gallery is added via WordPress native media upload form. Simply add the images and then insert the gallery into the post. Choose Gallery from the Format list on the right.

Standard Post - Choose Standard from the Format list on the right and add the content.

SETTING UP PAGES (SHOP PAGE PORTFOLIOS, FULL WIDTH PAGES, CONTACT PAGE,…)

We have prepared several premade settings for manipulation with pages.

Shop and Woocommerce Pages are added with shortcodes and can be found on their site and on our support portal so please do check it out first for more help on this.

Portfolio Pages enable you to add different portfolios with a breeze. Just Add new Page and select which portfolio page you wish to create (2,3 or 4 columns) and publish the Page. Items that have been added to the portfolio will be populated automaticlly.

Contact Page is a simple page that will display your contact form. Just set the title and text and choose the template Contact sidebar.

Full Width Pages are pages that have no sidebar. You have several possibilites:

Full width Page with Full Slider (page that looks like the front page with a Slideshow)

Full width Page with ios Slider and featured products

Full width Page with ios Slider and new products

Full width Page with Nivo Slider (page that looks like the front page with a Nivo Slideshow)

Full width Page (a normal full width page)

Simply add the content and choose the appropriate template from a dropdown list.

Page with Sidebar is a page that looks similar to the blog post as it has a sidebar on the right. Add the content and choose the Page with Sidebar template.

You have several other layouts (the same that the ones for front page).

SETTING UP PORTFOLIO

Go to Portfolio and add the items / images. Now go to Pages / Add New Page and choose one of the portfolio templates (2 column, 3 column or 4 column). Publish the page and your portfolio is up and ready.

At single portfolio page you have several options of how to display images. You can set separate images for first featured image (the one seen on the portfolio pages where all items are displayed) and second featured image (the image in the single portfolio page). If you wish to have a slideshow from images simply upload all the images that you want in the gallery with native wordpress uploader. Images that are then placed in the default WordPress Gallery will then be used in the slideshow on the single portfolio page. In this case it is better to upload the first featured image via Media / Add image so that this image doesn’t get placed in the WordPress default gallery in the portfolio post.

CUSTOM WIDGETS

After installing the theme and loading the demo data you will find that one thing is still missing in the sidebars: widgets! Just go to Appearance / Widgets to get an overview of the standard widgets and the Camy WordPress theme custom widgets. On the right you will see 5 sidebar tabs, “Sidebar widget” which is shown in the blog and all pages with sidebars. Other 4 widget sidebars are for footer that is split into 4 columns. These sidebars can be populated with widgets individually via dragging a widget to one of them.

The following widgets are available and specifically styled for the Camy Wordpress theme:

Camy Popular Posts - A popular post widget styled specificlly for both the sidebar and the footer. Just set the title and how many posts should be displayed.

Tag Cloud - a widget that will display your tags, it has been designed to fit within the overall look of the theme. Just set the title and whether to show tags or categories.

Camy Recent Posts - A popular post widget styled specificlly for both the sidebar and the footer. Just set the title and how many posts should be displayed.

Camy Archive, Links and Categories - widgets have been redesigned to fit with the overall design of the Theme.

Camy Recent Products with slider - special widget that presents your products in a nicely designed Slideshow.

WOOCOMMERCE WIDGETS

Woocomerce comes with a bunch of custom plugins connected with your shop. They have all been redesigned to fit perfectly with the overall Theme’s design so they will look great in sidebar and in footer.

THEME OPTIONS

HOME SETTINGS

Here you can set which elements should be displayed. You can choose between quote text, featured items, recent products, featured products, recent portfolios, recent posts and your major brands / advertisers. Also select how many recent products, posts and portfolio items you wish to display on the front page. You will notice that you can set this for either just posts, just portfolio items or both at the same time. Settings will be valid automatically for each setting accordingly, based on which template for the front page you select.

WOOCOMMERCE SETTINGS

Here you can set which category type to display for your shop. Default is the standard blog with sidebar on the right. A full width will implement a full width shop without a sidebar. Several other settings can be set here also. Especially important are the parts where you set how many products you wish to have displayed on the front page.

Translation part - takes care of all the text that is used in the store (buttons, cart, etc.)

HOME CONTENT SETTINGS

First tab in Theme settings enables/disables certain elements that are found on the front page of our Theme. Four main elements of the front page are featured boxes that contain your premium services or products.

Next tab is used to set the content of the four elements described above.

Quote text is the text that is displayed just below the slideshow of the website. Simply enter any text that you want (for instance your latest news). The text that you enter within the <span> tags will be colored in the theme’s main color.

Featured boxes are displayed just under the quote text and will allow you to post your discounts and actions. All aspects of the box can be set from administration. You can set the title, content text, URL link and an image that can be uploaded via upload form. Set all three elements for each of the featured boxes. To add text under the 3 featured items you have to edit the Home Page and add 3 columns with a shortcode (one_third tag is used for the first three circles and one_third_last is used for the last circle). This gives you the possibility to have any shape of text or even images beneath the four circles (it gives you the freedom to add anything).

Brands can be added in the last section of home content settings. You can add images with native wordpress media uploader. Then simply enter the link to which the image should point and you are all set. This way you can show which brands are for sale in your Shop.

Main slideshow is IOS Slider. Simply add images via upload and add title and description text. If you do not wish a description text to be opened on hover simply leave the description text empty and only enter the Title. You can add HTML text into the description which means you can style it up nicely.

Recommended size for Nivo Slideshow is 1140px x 400px and for IOS Slideshow it is 1180px X 420px.

<br>

TEAM PAGE SETTINGS

Adding team members is similar like adding images to Slideshow. Upload the image via tha native wordpress media uploader and then enter the member’s name and role. Icon that represents the profession of the member can also be uploaded for each member separately. Recommended size of the icons is 40px X 40px. Social networking is added by simply entering appropriate links to the fields. If you leave a certain field empty, the social link will not be added.

PORTFOLIO AND BLOG OPTIONS

Set the number of the portfolio items or post items displayed on one page (if you choose full width blog).

SOCIAL OPTIONS

Social options section allows you to add and edit your social icons. Currently there is support for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Dribble and email. First you need to check which ones you want on your Theme. After that simply enter the links to your social profiles.

CONTACT OPTIONS

This section contains the settings for your contact form. First set the short description that is found under the main title (parameter Contact description under title). Under email address simply enter your valid email address. Error and success messages are there to tell your visitors that email was succesfully sent or if there was an error.

To set the Google maps you have to install the free plugin called Comprehensive Google Map Plugin. You can download it here.

SHORTCODES

Camy comes with over 70 premade shortcodes. To add them while writing a post or a page simply click on the yellow folder icon that says Theme Shortcodes.

Studio 9 is a responsive WordPress Theme that implements bold fonts and clean design to create a versatile WordPress-powered site with unlimited color variations.

It’s purpose is for creative agency sites or blog in old typewriting style with big and bold fonts.

Studio 9 has a convenient Administration panel which provides tons of options to manage and modify any aspect of the theme – it is well suited for both beginners with no coding knowledge and developers.

The Theme comes with a plethora of options so you can modify layout, styling, colors and fonts directly from within the backend of your WordPress Theme. You can choose any color you want to be the Theme’s leading color (you can see 8 examples in our preview).

The theme allows you to change all the main colors of the Theme (background color for titles, color of title fonts, color of hover elements, color of shadow used on text) along with the background. This means that you can change all the colors and looks of the theme with just a few clicks.

QUICK GUIDE

There are two ways of installing the Theme for your WordPress installation.

INSTALLATION VIA FTP

Extract the themeforest package you recieved to any folder on your harddrive. The archive contains several folders. You will need to copy the “Agency” folder which contains the theme data to your wordpress installations theme folder on your server. Example of a destination folder: http://yourserver/wordpress/wp-content/themes/. The resulting file structure will look like this: http://yourserver/wordpress/wp-content/themes/Agency/. Next go to your WordPress installation admin panel to appearence/themes. You will see the Agency theme listed along with other themes. Press Activate and the theme will be active in a moment.

INSTALLATION DIRECTLY FROM YOUR WORDPRESS INSTALLATION

Go to Appearance/Themes and click on the tab Install Themes. Now click on the upload button and choose the zip called Agency.zip. After the Theme uploads to the server simply click on Activate and your brand new theme will be ready to use.

To make the theme look like our live preview and for it to function properly it should be installed in the following order:

PROPER INSTALLATION PROCESS

1. Install the Agency WordPress Theme

2. Import Demo WordPress demo content (can be found on http://themesupport.premiumcoding.com)

2. Install woocommerce-multilingual.zip, which can be found in the zip of the theme called plugins

Pay a visit to our support forum and look for the topic called Agency – Responsive Portfolio WordPress Theme.

Add the page and set the portfolio as the template for the page (2 column portfolio or 3 column portfolio)

SETTING UP POSTS (VIDEO, LINK, GALLERY)

Agency supports the latest feature of WordPress that allows you to add specific posts that contain audio, video, links or gallery.

Portfolio Pages enable you to add different portfolios with a breeze. Just Add new Page and select which portfolio page you wish to create (2 or 3 columns) and publish the Page. Items that have been added to the portfolio will be populated automaticlly.

Contact Page is a simple page that will display your contact form. Just set the title and text and choose the template Contact sidebar.

Simply add the content and choose the appropriate template from a dropdown list.

Page with Sidebar is a page that looks similar to the blog post. Add the content and choose the Page with Sidebar template.

SETTING UP PORTFOLIO

Go to Portfolio and add the items / images. Now go to Pages / Add New Page and choose one of the portfolio templates (2 column or 3 column).

Just go to Appearance / Widgets to get an overview of the standard widgets and the Agency WordPress theme custom widgets. On the right you will see 5 sidebar tabs, “Sidebar widget” which is shown in the blog and all pages with sidebars. Other 3 widget sidebars are for footer that is split into 3 columns. These sidebars can be populated with widgets individually via dragging a widget to one of them.

The following widgets are available and specifically styled for the Agency WordPress theme:

Agency Popular Posts - A popular post widget styled specificlly for both the sidebar and the footer. Just set the title and how many posts should be displayed.

Tag Cloud - a widget that will display your tags, it has been designed to fit within the overall look of the theme. Just set the title and whether to show tags or categories.

Agency Recent Posts - A popular post widget styled specificlly for both the sidebar and the footer. Just set the title and how many posts should be displayed.

Agency Archive, Links and Categories - widgets have been redesigned to fit with the overall design of the Theme.

Please note that this Theme has a specific global sidebar that is stickied to the side of the page. It will look best if it is not too high so the whole sidebar is displayed even on smaller resolutions. We recommend the height of it is under 700px.

THEME OPTIONS

HOME SETTINGS

Here you can set which elements should be displayed. You can choose between quote text, recent portfolios and info boxes. Also select how many recent portfolio items you wish to display on the front page. Settings will be valid automatically for each setting accordingly, based on which template for the front page you select.

HOME CONTENT SETTINGS

First tab in Theme settings enables/disables certain elements that are found on the front page of our Theme. Two main elements of the front page are info boxes that contain your premium services or products.

Next tab is used to set the content of the four elements described above.

Quote text is the text that is displayed just below the slideshow of the website. Simply enter any text that you want (for instance your latest news). The text that you enter within the <span> tags will be colored in the theme’s main color.

Info boxes are displayed just under the quote text and will allow you to post your discounts and actions. All aspects of the box can be set from administration. You can set the title, content text and URL link . Set all three elements for each of the featured boxes.

Footer background patterns can also be changed. It can be a color or a pattern. To add more patterns upload them to your Theme’s /images/bg-header folder and they will instantly appear in the admin.

PORTFOLIO AND BLOG OPTIONS

Parameter Number of items to be displayed will set how many portfolio items appear on the page at once.

SOCIAL OPTIONS

Social options section allows you to add and edit your social icons. Currently there is support for Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo and Dribble and email.

For inserting widgets into the theme, go to Appearance -> Widgets.

TRANSLATION OPTIONS

Theme allows you to translate all the main aspects of the Theme (buttons, social icons,…). Simply enter your translation and save.
