href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Z-y9vaCrWfQ/TxBaySBxkuI/AAAAAAAABYI/K7hWTQxBeYI/s1600/2011+502.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">

I don't know what I was expecting when I took up the offer to do a review for the Rubbermaid Bento Boxes and Toppers, but when the UPS man showed up with a huge box I was so surprised and excited!

These boxes are just amazing! They are sturdy, and so neat looking!

Most of time I dread thinking about having storage containers/organizers around the house, but not with these! I would actually show them off! Lol!

The boxes and toppers came in a set of 4 and they all fit neatly into the biggest box (the X-Large box).

(Pictured above).

Mine are in the Paprika color.

Below is how the X-Large Bento box looks with the Flex dividers open.

The dividers pop out very easy, and make your containers easy to organize on the inside!

Also, may be great if you are trying to keep things stored and don't want things jostled around or broken.

I think these would make great storage boxes for Christmas and other holidays!

My house is small, so these have been a great find for me.

My husband has the smallest one on his desk. He uses the flex dividers in his and it holds his pens in one corner, business cards in another and other small items. Great for keeping the desk from so much clutter!

I use the Medium size box for my sewing supplies! It is great for holding my scissors, needles, thread spools, lace, etc.

I love how you can use the tops for lids or covers OR trays! So neat! I have most of the tops on mine flipped over so that they can hold stuff on top too.
The tops are just as sturdy as the boxes so are also great for carrying things on, using for a tv tray, etc!

As a homeschool mom, the Bento boxes have so many uses and are so handy! If I am doing things around the house, I can always carry one of the trays with me of things I am using or need, putting up items etc.
I use the Large Bento box, JUST for homeschool, right now. It is the perfect size to hold the notebooks, teacher books, student books, flashcards and books we are using at the moment. =) I love it! So handy and also can have it right where I need it. And as you can see, in the picture below, the top for it is being used for the youngest Princess's Kindergarten puppets. =)

I loved the bell peppers of course! We had stuffed peppers, and used peppers for a lot of meals over the summer. I also dehydrated a bunch of the bell peppers. They seem to be keeping well in the fridge, but I need to vacuum pack some.

I was very surprised and happy with the quality of the peppers. Wish they had all been open-pollinated seed, but the bells were hybrid. =( Oh well, I am really going to aim at being a Better gardener this year! =)

Last month was our oldest Princess birthday! yay!
I made her a Sand castle cake! She and all the children loved it!
Here is the LINK for the recipe I used. It was very easy to make.

My sister came and helped decorate for a Luau party. =) She found some of the cutest decorations and party supplies at Dollar tree.

I made a watermelon bowel and filled it with fruit for the kids.
She wanted pizza, so I made pizza for everyone.

I bought her a coconut! She had never had one before and thought it was so neat! She loved it, but not the milk in it! lol!

She also got the One thing she had been asking for, for I don't know how long! A train set! I found one on Amazon for a good deal, and Daddy liked it because it came with a bucket that it All fits into!

I can hardly wait for the youngest Princess to have her birthday! I have to decide on a cake and everything for it still. =)
I also want to start getting ready for the Holidays. =)
And therefore we may follow the Stoics, who diligently investigate the etymology of words; and we may accept their statement that "good faith" is so called because what is promised is "made good," although some may find this derivation/a rather farfetched. There are, on the other hand, two kinds of injustice — the one, on the part of those who inflict wrong, the other on the part of those who, when they can, do not shield from wrong those upon whom it is being inflicted. For he who, under the influence of anger or some other passion, wrongfully assaults another seems, as it were, to be laying violent hands upon a comrade; but he who does not prevent or oppose wrong, if he can, is just as guilty of wrong as if he deserted his parents or his friends or his country.

Then, too, those very wrongs which people try to inflict on purpose to injure are often the result of fear: that is, he who premeditates injuring another is afraid that, if he does not do so, he may himself be made to suffer some hurt. But, for the most part, people are led to wrong-doing in order to secure some personal end; in this vice, avarice is generally the controlling motive."
From
DE OFFICIIS
By
Marcus Tullius Cicero

Translated by Walter Miller.
Loeb edn.
Cambridge: Harvard University Press,
1913

Cicero on Morals and Moral Duties

"Although philosophy offers many problems, both important and useful, that have been fully and carefully discussed by philosophers, those teachings which have been handed down on the subject of moral duties seem to have the widest practical application. For no phase of life, whether public or private, whether in business or in the home, whether one is working on what concerns oneself alone or dealing with another, can be without its moral duty; on the discharge of such duties depends all that is morally right, and on their neglect all that is morally wrong in life.

Moreover, the subject of this inquiry is the common property of all philosophers; for who would presume to call himself a philosopher, if he did not inculcate any lessons of duty? But there are some schools that distort all notions of duty by the theories they propose touching the supreme good and the supreme evil. For he who posits the supreme good as having no connection with virtue and measures it not by a moral standard but by his own interests — if he should be consistent and not rather at times over-ruled by his better nature, he could value neither friendship nor justice nor generosity; and brave he surely cannot possibly be that counts pain the supreme evil, nor temperate he that holds pleasure to be the supreme good."
From
DE OFFICIIS
By Marcus Tullius Cicero

Translated by Walter Miller.
Loeb edn.
Cambridge: Harvard University Press,
1913

Benjamin Franklin Fridays~ On Liberty & Let me give you some fatherly advice. Kill no more pigeons than you can eat. Be a good girl and don't forget your catechism. Go constantly to meeting- or church- till you get a good husband, then stay at home and nurse the children, and live like a Christian. Spend your spare hours, in sober whisk, prayers, or learning to cypher. You must practice addition to your husband's estate, by industry and frugality; subtraction of all unnecessary expenses; multiplication (I would gladly have taught you that myself, but you thought it time enough, and wouldn't learn) he will soon make you a mistress of it. As to division, I say with brother Paul,
Let there be no division among ye. But as your good sister Hubbard (my love to her) is well acquainted with the Rule of Two, I hope you will become an expert at the Rule of Three; that when I have again the pleasure of seeing you, I may find you like my grape vine, surrounded with clusters, plump, juicy, blushing, pretty little rogues, like their Mama."
-Benjamin Franklin, 1755
From the book, "The Real Benjamin Franklin"

Ralph Waldo Emerson on "Self Reliance"

I just found the article on Self Reliance, by Ralph Waldo Emerson! Have you read it? I highly recommend that you do!
Here is just a small piece of it that I wanted to share!

From
"Self Reliance"
By Ralph Waldo Emerson
1841

"If our young men miscarry in their first enterprises, they lose all heart. If the young merchant fails, men say he is ruined. If the finest genius studies at one of our colleges, and is not installed in an office within one year afterwards in the cities or suburbs of Boston or New York, it seems to his friends and to himself that he is right in being disheartened, and in complaining the rest of his life. A sturdy lad from New Hampshire or Vermont, who in turn tries all the professions, who teams it, farms it, peddles, keeps a school, preaches, edits a newspaper, goes to Congress, buys a township, and so forth, in successive years, and always, like a cat, falls on his feet, is worth a hundred of these city dolls. He walks abreast with his days, and feels no shame in not 'studying a profession,' for he does not postpone his life, but lives already. He has not one chance, but a hundred chances. Let a Stoic open the resources of man, and tell men they are not leaning willows, but can and must detach themselves; that with the exercise of self-trust, new powers shall appear; that a man is the word made flesh, born to shed healing to the nations, that he should be ashamed of our compassion, and that the moment he acts from himself, tossing the laws, the books, idolatries, and customs out of the window, we pity him no more, but thank and revere him, — and that teacher shall restore the life of man to splendor, and make his name dear to all history." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Read the whole article From The Patriot Post ! I remember, as a teenager, I got one of the amaryllis growing sets for my birthday! And a couple of years ago, I was given another one!
You have to remember though, I do not have a green thumb! Most stuff dies on me, so this poor plant has seen some ruff days over the past few years!
Winter of 2010, I had to separate the bulbs, since they were getting to big in the pot! So I made two pots with two bulbs in each pot. So far they are doing good, but will need to separate them again this year, as they keep growing!

This year, both started to bloom in April! And they were just beautiful! I was so excited to have two blooming at the same time! I had one more bloom later, but it was smaller and only had two flowers on it.

I took some pictures of them as they bloomed and wanted them here on my blog! Hope you enjoy them too!

~Hannah

Our new van!

A couple of months ago (wow, time flies!), we got a "new" van!
I feel like a Real homeschool family now! lol!
It is a '98, but in pretty good shape and we have really been enjoying it!
Believe it or not, this is actually my first car! Have you visited Zoobies.com? They have the most adorable pets! I was blown away by the assortment and how they are made!

The Zoobie Pets are a plush toy, a pillow and a blanket, All in One fun pet that your child will love and carry with them and to bed every night!

Since they have such a great assortment of all different kinds and colors of pets, you can find the one that fits best into your family or for each child! When I showed the Zoobie Pets website to my daughters, they were so excited, to say the least! =)
We had great fun looking at each Zoobie Pet and it's blanket and the pictures of children snuggling their plush pets!
We finally decided that Patch the Pinto would fit best into our home, since my husband was a horse trainer, we had horses when I was growing up and my girls LOVE horses and want one (or two!) of their own someday!
My girls then talked about getting Patch the Pinto and when the delivery truck came they were just bouncing up and day, hoping it was Patch the Pinto! It made me so happy to see them so excited when we opened the box and there was Patch the Pinto!
He is soooo cute and so soft! I just love the cozy blanket! It is big enough for my girls to cover up with! Plus he makes the perfect size pillow for them and as a plush toy, he is just the right size for hugging!
I think it looks like a baby miniature horse! lol!

The blanket is pretty easy to take out and put back inside of the pet, and you can leave it zipped onto the pet if you want to!

There are two, velcro tabs on the bottom that gather the pillow up to make the pet into the animal shape. There are 4 different collections of Zoobies!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1 for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Spring is here and it is time to get outdoors and soak up some sun! Invite friends and family over for a cookout and relax in some amazing outdoor furniture from Pier 1!

Maybe you are new to Pier 1, like me, or maybe you have shopped there before, either way, you have got to check out their outdoor furniture! They have beautiful wicker chairs and tables, like the Coco Cove Outdoor Wicker Armchair , and the Coco Cove Outdoor Dining Table!

I would really love to furnish and decorate our patio and yard, this year, but when I see the prices at local stores on the cheap, plastic "outdoor" furniture, I can't look twice! But the more I look over the Pier 1 products, three words stand out to me, Quality, Comfort and Affordability.

You can find some great bargains to make your spring and summer entertaining and relaxation more fashionable, comfortable and enjoyable! I think you will be impressed by the quality, selection and options! I was amazed that so many of Pier 1's products are for indoor and outdoor use, since they are so beautiful. You can completely decorate or redecorate rooms and outdoors with everything from rugs, seating to wall decor! People will be in awe that you have doormats, clocks, and barstools, outdoors! I love that you can have the furniture outdoors to enjoy in the summer, and bring it in, to enjoy for the winter! Ahh! Makes me long for a big sun room!

The new Papasan collection at Pier 1 will be the perfect addition to any living space! They have a Papasan Chair, Double Papasan Chair and Rockasan, plus lots of different styles and colors of cushions to choose from. So if you are looking for something new, the Papasans are probably the Best bargain for the biggest improvement! I also recommend you check out the Outdoor Mocha Counterstools, the breath-taking Galiana Mosaic Outdoor Bistro Table, and the deal on the Estrella Doormat (for just $12.68)! And all three of those items are for indoor/outdoor use!

Some of the great things I would love for my patio and porch are the Coco Cove Outdoor Wicker Rocker (for husband to relax in!), the Adjustable Chaise Lounge (for me to lay out on!), the Coco Cove Outdoor Serving Cart and Blue Metal Beverage Tub with Stand, (for entertaining and everyday use!)! For the kids, the Outdoor Swingasan Chair (I remember my Aunt had one, and I loved it as a kid!), and the Scatter Daisy Reversible Outdoor Cushions!

Another must have for me would be the Hot Stripe Hammock! It was in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to a Committee of the Danbury Baptist Association, Connecticut!

And of course, Jefferson did not mean it to keep the Church out of the government, but to keep the government out of the Church!

Please, American people, do your research! Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties."

~Thomas Jefferson 1802 — letter to a Committee of the Danbury Baptist Association, Connecticut
