Rubbermaid Bento Boxes & Toppers (Review & Giveaway)

I don't know what I was expecting when I took up the offer to do a review for the Rubbermaid Bento Boxes and Toppers, but when the UPS man showed up with a huge box I was so surprised and excited!

These boxes are just amazing! They are sturdy, and so neat looking!

Most of time I dread thinking about having storage containers/organizers around the house, but not with these! I would actually show them off! Lol!

The boxes and toppers came in a set of 4 and they all fit neatly into the biggest box (the X-Large box).

Mine are in the Paprika color.

Below is how the X-Large Bento box looks with the Flex dividers open.

The dividers pop out very easy, and make your containers easy to organize on the inside!

Also, may be great if you are trying to keep things stored and don't want things jostled around or broken.

I think these would make great storage boxes for Christmas and other holidays!

My house is small, so these have been a great find for me.

My husband has the smallest one on his desk. He uses the flex dividers in his and it holds his pens in one corner, business cards in another and other small items. Great for keeping the desk from so much clutter!

I use the Medium size box for my sewing supplies! It is great for holding my scissors, needles, thread spools, lace, etc.

I love how you can use the tops for lids or covers OR trays! So neat! I have most of the tops on mine flipped over so that they can hold stuff on top too.
The tops are just as sturdy as the boxes so are also great for carrying things on, using for a tv tray, etc!

As a homeschool mom, the Bento boxes have so many uses and are so handy! If I am doing things around the house, I can always carry one of the trays with me of things I am using or need, putting up items etc.
I use the Large Bento box, JUST for homeschool, right now. It is the perfect size to hold the notebooks, teacher books, student books, flashcards and books we are using at the moment. =) I love it! So handy and also can have it right where I need it. And as you can see, in the picture below, the top for it is being used for the youngest Princess's Kindergarten puppets. =)

Pappers Galore!

Wow, I am so behind on my blogging! REALLY starting to miss it! My computer is very messed up and locked up again on me for a while around the Holidays. That was a real bummer, but I did spend more time with my family! =)

Last summer, we bought some peppers plants to plant in our garden spot. They did sooo good this year! lol! We had peppers running out of our ears!

I had Never picked so many peppers at once! One day I picked a 5 gallon bucket of Just jalapeno peppers!

I pickled a lot of the jalapeno and some habanaro (sp?) peppers. Then I dried and dehydrated a ton of them. Ground some of the dehydrated ones up, put them in an seasoning shaker, and King Ed loves to put them on his soups, stew, chili, pizza etc. He loves hot peppers.

I loved the bell peppers of course! We had stuffed peppers, and used peppers for a lot of meals over the summer. I also dehydrated a bunch of the bell peppers. They seem to be keeping well in the fridge, but I need to vacuum pack some.

I was very surprised and happy with the quality of the peppers. Wish they had all been open-pollinated seed, but the bells were hybrid. =( Oh well, I am really going to aim at being a Better gardener this year! =)

Princess S.'s Birthday Party 2011!

Last month was our oldest Princess birthday! yay!
I made her a Sand castle cake! She and all the children loved it!
Here is the LINK for the recipe I used. It was very easy to make.

My sister came and helped decorate for a Luau party. =) She found some of the cutest decorations and party supplies at Dollar tree.

I made a watermelon bowel and filled it with fruit for the kids.
She wanted pizza, so I made pizza for everyone.

I bought her a coconut! She had never had one before and thought it was so neat! She loved it, but not the milk in it! lol!

She also got the One thing she had been asking for, for I don't know how long! A train set! I found one on Amazon for a good deal, and Daddy liked it because it came with a bucket that it All fits into!

I can hardly wait for the youngest Princess to have her birthday! I have to decide on a cake and everything for it still. =)
I also want to start getting ready for the Holidays. =)

Easter 2011

We celebrated Easter at home this year, with just our family! Usually we go to my sister's and have a big hunt and lunch, but this year they had other things going on, so we just stayed home. We had a really good time and got to lay around and watch movies all after noon! lol!

Easter morning, I made a cheese spread bunny (pictured above and below). It was very yummy!

And the girls got to hunt Easter eggs of course! I had some candy for the eggs, but had not gotten to a store to get some fun crackers to fill the eggs, so I made notes for them saying they could pick out some fun things at the store! =)
Thankfully they are very easy to please when it comes to gifts, and they loved it all!
I look forward to next Easter! I wonder if there will even be Easter stuff for sell next year? These are interesting and kind-of scary times we live in....

My Amaryllis- Times two!

I love amaryllis! I remember, as a teenager, I got one of the amaryllis growing sets for my birthday! And a couple of years ago, I was given another one!
You have to remember though, I do not have a green thumb! Most stuff dies on me, so this poor plant has seen some ruff days over the past few years!
Winter of 2010, I had to separate the bulbs, since they were getting to big in the pot! So I made two pots with two bulbs in each pot. So far they are doing good, but will need to separate them again this year, as they keep growing!

This year, both started to bloom in April! And they were just beautiful! I was so excited to have two blooming at the same time! I had one more bloom later, but it was smaller and only had two flowers on it.

I took some pictures of them as they bloomed and wanted them here on my blog! Hope you enjoy them too!

Our new van!

A couple of months ago (wow, time flies!), we got a "new" van!
I feel like a Real homeschool family now! lol!
It is a '98, but in pretty good shape and we have really been enjoying it!
Believe it or not, this is actually my first car! So I have been pretty excited about it! Plus it is much easier to drive then the big truck. =)

He is soooo cute and so soft! I just love the cozy blanket! It is big enough for my girls to cover up with! Plus he makes the perfect size pillow for them and as a plush toy, he is just the right size for hugging!
I think it looks like a baby miniature horse! lol!

The blanket is pretty easy to take out and put back inside of the pet, and you can leave it zipped onto the pet if you want to!

There are two, velcro tabs on the bottom that gather the pillow up to make the pet into the animal shape. There are 4 different collections of Zoobies! I like Curious George from the Storytime Pals, Slumber Furbie the Feline from the Slumber Pets, Baby Tama the Tortoise from the Blankie Babies, and (besides Patch the Pinto), I like Wyatt the Wolf, Cookie the Cow, and Jafaru the Giraffe in the Blanket Pets! =) They are All so cute though! Wonder where the whole "Separation between Church and State" thing came from? It was in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to a Committee of the Danbury Baptist Association, Connecticut!

And of course, Jefferson did not mean it to keep the Church out of the government, but to keep the government out of the Church!

Please, American people, do your research! Read the Founder's own words. Learn True History and teach it to your children.
