Latest news on digital (vs. analog) phone lines?

Hello, After three years of excellent service, we will need to move my elderly parents' Presto printer to a new environment. The new place is in an apartment complex for senior citizens and seems to have a digital phone system. The only thing I know right now is that you have to dial 9 in order to reach an outside line. What is the latest on the digital vs. analog question, please? I'm hoping to make this change without too much frustration or stress. :-)

Lack of response from Customer Service

I'm disappointed that I had to post an additional item on the prestoplace forum; was hoping I could resolve with presto's customer service team. My parents machine died in late July, presto sent a new power cord (which I have told customer service did not fix the problem), and I have not received a reply to several emails asking for next steps to address the issue. In the meantime, I continue to pay for the service without the ability to use the machine. I attempted to use the CEO's direct email address that was listed in another forum to no avail. Disappointed is about all I can muster at this point - I get no response from customer service, and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next, short of shelling out another $120 for a new machine (which was, interestingly, the first suggestion Presto offered when I called the customer service department). Any suggested remedies from other forum members would be greatly appreciated.

Printer has died!

Started Presto service for my dad in the summer of '07; he loved it but about 6 months ago, the printer died. He lost phone service and called the local phone company for repair; a +$100 service call later, the service tech determined the printer was killing the phone line. I was not able to go see him until recently, and sure enough, as soon as I connect the printer to the phone line and plug in the AC adapter, the printer creates an "off the hook" condition on the phone line! Has anyone seen this before? On the back of the printer, I removed a small panel covering a USB jack; can the software be re-loded into the printer?

Have Ink and Paper Automatically Delivered to Your Presto Printing Mailbox

If you sign up for Presto's Supplies Subscription service, a genuine HP97 tri-color replacement ink cartridge will automatically be sent to your Presto user when the ink cartridge is running low. Optionally, you can also have a ream of either HP Bright White Inkjet Paper or "Presto Memories" Premium 3-Hole Punched Inkjet Paper sent along with every other ink cartridge. As long as you use genuine HP ink cartridges, the Printing Mailbox informs Presto how much ink is remaining when it retrieves the mail. This ensures the Supplies Subscription program sends a replacement cartridge only when it is needed. And, you can turn on or off the automatic Supplies Subscription (or just the paper replenishment) directly from your PrestoConnect homepage. Simply sign in to your account, click on the "Manage printer settings" link, and select "Automatic Supplies Subscription Service." You'll be able to sign up right there! There is no extra cost for the Supplies Subscription service beyond the cost of ink, paper and delivery. Pricing can be found on the "Supplies Subscription" page of the PrestoConnect homepage referenced above.

When reading the daily newspaper, most of the news is bad. Just as there is little impetus for a newspaper editor to write about things that are going well, there is little point in conversing in a forum like this if you're not looking for some kind of assistance. I've done my best to contact each and every PrestoPlace poster with a problem to get them back up and running (thanks to my expert customer service staff at the office). Unfortunately, people viewing PrestoPlace posts do not always see the resolution to the problem, just the frustration prior to the fix. So, I thought I would give instructions as to what to do if you have a problem with Presto. 1) Self-Help on Presto.com Start by visiting http://help.presto.com and seeing if there is an answer to your problem within Presto's online help system. 2) Contact Presto Customer Support They are open 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday and can be reached at 800-919-3199. They have online tools that can diagnose what is going on with your Printing...
