Sungai Lembing is a tin mining town 42 km northwest of Kuantan in Pahang, Malaysia. Lembing is Malay for spear, and "sungai" means river. Per local legend, the local ruler saw a vision of a spear in the nearby river and thus named his town after this vision.

Until the 1970s, Sungai Lembing was a major producer of underground tin. Sungai Lembing town developed in the 1880's when the British set up the tin mining industry, although the history of mining in this area extends much further back. From 1891, the Pahang Consolidated Company Limited, (PCCL), which was under British control, had a 77-year lease to mine the area. PCCL managed the mine from 1906 until its liquidation in 1986 when world tin prices collapsed.

The pit mines were closed in 1986 due to high operational costs and low yields, but during their heyday they were among the largest and deepest in the world. The total tunnel length is 322 km, with a depth of between 610 m and 700 m. A museum highlighting the tin mining industry was opened in 2003. The museum is housed in an old bungalow once used by the mine manager. The museum houses a collection of mining artifacts.

Today the town of Sg Lembing is in decline although it was once the richest town in Pahang, known as El Dorado of the East. In the 1940's about 1400 people worked in the mine. Today many of the wooden shoplots are closed and people are moving away. The town straddles the river, and the main street on the right bank is split by an avenue of majestic trees. At the end, an old wooden building overlooks the padang where games of cricket and other social activities were held.

(wikipedia.com)Nearby Sungai Lembing is Bukit Panorama, which is a popular place to watch the sunrise. 16 km from Sg. Lembing is Gunung Tapis Nature Park, where one can camp, fish, and shoot the rapids. Gunung Tapis itself is 1,512 m high. On the way to Sg. Lembing at the hamlet of Panching^[1] is Gua Charas, a temple cave that is a popular tourist destination, also Sungai Pandan Waterfall, which is 29 km from Kuantan.(wikipedia.com)

This morning I was clean my cute and small aquarium☺ , which made of glass jar from Prego pasta sauce which I already used the sauce to made my favorite dishes.
Just want to share because Iam decor lover so I decided to decor my aquarium to make my little guppies feel comfortable in their small home.

Here you can see my small aquarium. Yes the guppies are there! Haven't decided yet their name at the moment.

I decorate the jar with my handmade accessories, using faux blue pearl, glass beads and silver plated chain. Then there is a little bird clip. Imagen that little bird are stoping by to say Hi! to the guppies. Some simple plant to made some cozy and green felling.

Finally I put some mix of stone chips, maybe you wonder why the watter is blue. Well, I put some aquarium salt in it. The salt are in blue color, so it made blue water. Dont worry its safe for the guppies.

Now the aquarium are in my work desk, I just love to see it happily swimming in their small home.Bring so much inspiration to my day.

Wow ! Its feel so great, after have long....long...vacation. But now iam back with fresh mind and new begining. Recently I just open my Etsy shop. If you havent heard about Etsy then I will tell you about it. Etsy its a website to sell or buy handmade. Just like ebay but this site is "just" for hand made!

I already have wrote about items on Etsy, now its my turn. Well, my Etsy shop its sell fine handcrafted jewelry made by me. I call my shop Anita Crafts shop. I think it simple and I believe most people who already visit my shop, will remember about it. Ok, now..what kind of jewelry that I sell on Etsy. I already have two section in my shop. One is children jewelry which I made it with wooden beads in rainbow colors. Second section is fine earings, all the items that you see in my shop, is guaranty design and handmade by me. Well, I want to shared some of my working process with you.

As you can see in the picture, all material that I used is pearls, swarovski crystals, quartz, glass beads, wire, etc. All material need different treatment some hard, some soft, some shiny...but thats why I found made jewelry is something excited and once you in, you will find your own creative wonderland.

Well, picture above show you the process. now the finishing touch!

In these jewelry design, I used purple quartz, diferent size of faux pearls. I made it in set, with one rings design. I made it as hairband for bride to be. The ring is adjustable in any size of fingers. Lately Iam so inspired by romantic and elegant colors, I think it will great for wedding jewelry.

I always intrested in ceramic for home decor, some collection are unique and collectible. Iam so inspired by ceramic vintage collection from europe. But what exactly ceramic is?

Well, according Wikipedia, a ceramic is an inorganic, non-metallic solid prepared by the action of heat and subsequent cooling.^[1] Ceramic materials may have a crystalline or partly crystalline structure, or may be amorphous (e.g., a glass). Because most common ceramics are crystalline, the definition of ceramic is often restricted to inorganic crystalline materials, as opposed to the non-crystalline glasses.

The earliest ceramics were pottery objects made from clay, either by itself or mixed with other materials, hardened in fire. Later ceramics were glazed and fired to create a colored, smooth surface. Ceramics now include domestic, industrial and building products and art objects. In the 20th century, new ceramic materials were developed for use in advanced ceramic engineering; for example, in semiconductors.

The word ceramic comes from the Greek word "κεραμικός" (keramikos), "of pottery" or "for pottery",^[2] from "κέραμος" (keramos), "potter's clay, tile, pottery"^[3] which is said to derive from the Indo-European word *cheros (unattested), meaning heat.^[4]^[5] The earliest mention on the word "ceramic" is the Mycenaean Greek ke-ra-me-we, "workers of ceramics", written in Linear b syllabic script.^[6] Ceramic may be used as an adjective describing a material, product or process; or as a singular noun, or, more commonly, as a plural noun, ceramics.^[7]

Types of ceramic products

For convenience, ceramic products are usually divided into four sectors; these are shown below with some examples:

Structural, including bricks, pipes, floor and roof tiles
Refractories, such as kiln linings, gas fire radiants, steel and glass making crucibles
Whitewares, including tableware, wall tiles, pottery products, and sanitary ware
Technical, is also known as Engineering, Advanced, Special, and in Japan, Fine Ceramics. Such items include tiles used in the Space Shuttle program, gas burner nozzles, ballistic protection, nuclear fuel uranium oxide pellets, bio-medical implants, jet engine turbine blades, and missile nose cones. Frequently the raw materials do not include clays.^[8]

Classification of technical ceramics

Technical ceramics can also be classified into three distinct material categories:

Oxides: Alumina, zirconia
Non-oxides: Carbides, borides, nitrides, silicides
Composites: Particulate reinforced, combinations of oxides and non-oxides.

Each one of these classes can develop unique material properties because ceramics tend to be crystalline.

Hi! welcome to Pretty Inspired Living! This first day of July I want to start new section in my Blog. Its craft section! Today craft project is CREATIVE CRAFT FROM YOUR COMPUTER. I will focus to made some easy transfer paper project that you can easly apply for your home decor improvement.Its easy, save money and I believe you will get beautiful result.

First tools you will need are computer, transfer paper, scissors, iron and textile (For best result I recomend you to use cotton textile). Why computer? Why not? Here in Pretty Inspired Living, I will take my readers to think out of the box! You can use your computer to made some project where you can be the designer.

Still dont have any idea to start some new design? Dont worry, here are some tips for you to start.

For the first design tips is we can use words, phrase, your favorite quote, poem, or clip art, family picture etc.Depent on Where you want to put it? Is it in the cushion? curtain? or pillow case? tablecloth? where you want to put your creation later? Is it in your bedroom? kitchen? living room?

Example if you want to apply your easy iron project at your cushion for living room, you can add words like "HOME SWEET HOME" or "cozy". Or you can use your favorite clip art from your computer collection. For clip art becareful with copyrigt terms.Except you made your own clip art. Well, you can play with your imagination.

Basic Iron-on Instructions

Creating iron-on transfers is a simple project. Computer software is available to print onto transfer paper, or you can simply photocopy your design onto the paper. Keep in mind that letters and words need to be printed in reverse to transfer correctly.

What You'll Need:

-- Transfer images

-- Iron

-- Fabric to be embellished (cotton works best)

-- Bedsheet

-- Scissors

How to Make It:

1. Cut out the pictures, words, or phrases. Turn the iron onto its highest heat setting with the steam off.

2. Fold the bedsheet and lay it on the ironing board. Set the fabric on the sheet and position the transfer on the fabric.

3. Run the iron over the transfer for several seconds (follow the manufacturer's instructions).

4. Peel off the backing.

Customize a Canvas

Nothing adds personality to a room faster than displaying your favorite photos. Creating a display like this one is a surprisingly simple two-step process.

1. Print out scanned versions of your photos onto water-slide decal transfer paper.

2. Attach them to black stretched canvases, which can be purchased at art supply or craft stores. Many sizes are available and come already mounted on easy-to-hang wood frames.

Dish It Up

Give glasses and plates a sunny disposition with fresh blossoms.

How to Make It:
1. For each glass or plate, print small flower images onto water-slide decal transfer paper. Trim closely around each image with a crafts knife or scissors.
2. Soak the cutouts in a shallow pan according to the instructions provided with the transfer paper.
3. After a few minutes, the paper backing peels away from the image, leaving a gummy layer that will adhere to the glasses.
4. Press the decals into place.
5. Bake the plates for a glazed finish.
6. To protect the images, coat glasses and plates with water-based clear varnish. The items should be washed by hand.

Iam so inspired by Interior designer Trisha Brink. She turn boring wall into wall of art and sabby chic style. If you love handcrafted items its time to show it in your interior decoration. As example like Trisha did, I love her idea to put some embroiderry behind your television. Imagen some industrial item get homey touch by craft item. I think its great idea!

This is the latest invention from London student name Min-Kyu Choi. His get inspiration when he got to carry the worlds largest plug (the UK pin plug) with his world thinnest laptop (the macbook air). His decision to create a plug that could fold flat. Isnt it genious problem solving.

Min-Kyu Choi creation recently has been crown the Brit Insurance Design of The Year 2010 at this year's Design Museum Design Awards. His humble plug design also get nomination for Life-Enhancer of the year award by Wallpaper Magzine.

Iam so inspired by his creation because actually we can be genius inventor if we look closely for small problem that we have and do our best to solved it.
