This weeks card is called Christmas Card and was made by Basteljeanny. This gorgeous card was made using sections from the Stitching Cards Christmas borders patterns.

Basteljeanny said “These are 4 little pictures from the Christmas borders from Stitching Cards. It is stitched with metallic embroidery threads on white paper, with little beads. In the centre is a thread with a star.”

This weeks card is called 70th Birthday card and was made by Jasu. This gorgeous card was made using Pinbroidery number patterns.

Jasu said “I stitched the pattern on pale yellow coloured card, with gold metallic and green/orange silk threads finished it with orange bead and bow. I then mounted it on to orange and pale yellow coloured cards.”

Mini Christmas stitching patterns released at Pinbroidery

Following customer feedback a set of six mini Christmas prick and stitch patterns have been released at the Pinbroidery web site. The size of these patterns is 88 mm x 114 mm (3.5 x 4.5 inches). These mini patterns use sections of the larger Value Pack 3 Christmas patterns also available at Pinbroidery. They feature bells, candles, Happy Christmas, a fur tree, a poinsettia and a sleigh. These patterns make beautiful cards for the Christmas season.

If you want to try this size of pattern before you buy there are two free mini stitching patterns in the free section of the Pinbroidery web site. These are a reworking of the free flower corners and star border patterns.

I chose the 88 mm x 114 mm size because blank double-fold cards of this size are readily available in the UK from suppliers such as Craft Creations.

As mentioned in my post about the release of the mini flower patterns, a lot of customers have asked me to design smaller versions of the square Pinbroidery patterns. When a customer asked for much smaller cards I realised that this could be achieved by taking elements of the larger design without reducing them. An experiment on the two free Pinbroidery patterns showed that this was possible so I moved on to the William Morris inspired flower designs followed by the mini Christmas designs.

Please let me know what you think about this smaller size of pattern.

Cat and Mouse – forum gallery stitching card of the week

This weeks card is called Cat and Mouse and was made by Pam Zimmerman. This lovely card was made using the Stitching Cards Christmas cat and mouse pattern.

Pam said “DMC Jewell Effect thread was used”.

The white oval overlaid on a pastel blue snowflake pattern compliments the stitched design beautifully.

Yorkshire terrier prick and stitch Christmas card suggestion

Stitching card enthusiast Ivy Crowhurst has sent me a picture of a cute card she made by combining the Stitching Cards Yorkshire terrier pattern with holly from the PinBroidery Happy Christmas pattern. To make it even more Christmassy she has added a Santa hat made from red and white felt. The words “Happy Christmas” are added with a gold peel-off sticker.

Birthday Medallion – forum gallery stitching card of the week

This weeks card is called Birthday Medallion 2 and was made by WestCoaster. This gorgeous card was made using the Stitching Cards Bead Medallion 3: Regal pattern.

The pattern uses blue, green and white beads on a yellow background. The bead colours are echoed in the blue and green borders.

Christmas cat and mouse stitching pattern added at Stitching Cards

A pattern featuring a sleeping cat with a mouse balanced on the branch of a fir tree above has been added to the Stitching Cards pattern collection. I created the pattern following a request from Stitching Cards customer Ivy Crowhurst who wanted a card with a cat, a mouse and a Christmas tree.

I decided that the branch from my recent Noel baubles design would work as a platform for the cheeky mouse. I added the star decoration to give a Christmas feel to it. In retrospect it looks to me as though the mouse is about to bounce on the branch to make the star wake the cat. What do you think is going to happen?

Rudolph – forum gallery stitching card of the week

This weeks card is called Rudolph and was made by Gill 4. This eye-catching card was made using the reindeer from the Form-A-Lines Christmas 18 patterns booklet.

Form-A-Lines are designed to look good in a single colour of thread. However, Gill said “I decided to use coloured threads to stitch him.”. The result is very attractive.
