Paul Carney's art site provides a range of lesson ideas, project suggestions and free art resources for teaching at at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. The technique section is particularly interesting covering media such as batiq, ink and charcoal. There are sections looking at ICT in Art and plenty of material to help you assess the progress of your students.

This site, with resources and activities suitable for use with year 5 & 6 pupils, has been created by teacher Lara Jeffries. It explores the theme of “diaries” through engaging activities looking at several different texts. It features some good suggestions on how blogging can be used to enhance and demonstrate the understanding of texts and provides some useful links for those wanting to set up their own blogs.

Create-A-Space is a really interesting site from Futurelab that provides resources and practical help for teachers and students who are interesting in creating their own mediascapes. A mediascape is composed of sounds, images and video placed outside in your local area. To see the images and video, and hear the sounds you need a handheld computer (PDA) and a pair of headphones. The site provides step-by-step instructions and links to free software to enable students to make mediascapes of their own.

Young Science Investigators, from the BP Educational Service, helps pupils aged 7 – 11 learn about electricity, energy and life processes, protecting the environment, living things in their environment, micro-organisms, rocks, materials, forces and friction, and energy through ‘online experiments'. The resource includes audio hints and tips for differentiation, photos showing real-world usage of the science covered, and video clips to demonstrate principles. Free registration is required to use the material.

Your Justice Your World is an educational resource from The Ministry of Justice to help young people from 7 to 16 understand the justice system. It has been mapped very closely to the latest Citizenship and PSHE curricula. Each unit comprises approximately five Flash activities which can be completed with the whole class using an interactive whiteboard, individually online at a computer terminal, or printed to use offline. There are also two activity sheets per unit.

My Life, from The Children's Society, aims to help students aged 7 to 11 develop the skills they need for a healthy, happy childhood. The resource has been developed in consultation with primary school teachers and supports the National Curriculum in England for Citizenship and PSHE, Every Child Matters and Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL). Each of the six My Life units contains an animated case study, two online activities and downloadable activity sheets, a certificate of completion for pupils and teacher's notes. The site is free to use but requires registration.
