Remember young people...you may know a lot about a lot of things which the older generation knows nothing. However we have lived long, we have seen things and had experiences which you will never see or experience. Seeing through the trees to the forest becomes somewhat easier with age.Respectfully...Donna

<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/Primethoughts" />
<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="hub" href="http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/" />

losing my job

losing my job

Guest written by our friend Mason Abbott

Man, getting fired was the best thing that ever happened to me. There were massive layoffs at my company which was happening everywhere and I was one of the last to go – they said they loved me but just couldn’t afford to keep me on. I was really devastated at first because I had no idea where to go but once I got my head about me I started looking for another job. I knew it would probably be a long process so I hunkered down and came up with some ways to save money in the meantime so I wouldn’t go broke. I called my credit card company and renegotiated my interest rate and went to texaselectricityPROVIDERS.com and found out I was paying too much for energy. I had a big garage sale and got rid of a bunch of junk I didn’t need and made a few hundred dollars that way. I found a new job after about three months though it doesn’t pay as well as my old one, but it’s a job!

Now think about this...who will be able to afford to buy these bulbs, even if they do last a long time. Imagine moving into a new house, or apartment, and needing to purchase bulbs at this price for every socket in the house. You know the folks moving out will not be leaving their bulbs.

Where do I sign up for the revolution? Have you thought about all the freedoms this administration has or is in the process of eliminating. If this man were to be re-elected we would not recognize our country at the end of his second term. I am having a problem recognizing our country now and he still has months to go.

Perhaps everyone who cares should just move to Texas. They seem to be making good decisions while many other states are making decisions which in the end will be destructive to all of us.

Speaking of Texas. I just learned something I didn't know. In Texas, and perhaps in other states as well, as a consumer you have a choice as to who you purchase your electricity from.

This information is to be found on a website called http://www.texaselectricityproviders.com/. It appears that there are several choices available from which to choose and even though is seems that it is the same power flowing through your wires each offering company decides on it's own pricing.

Perhaps every state should offer what they are offering at http://www.texaselectricityproviders.com/.

The website is interesting. I'm not sure who provides it but you have the option of filling out a form and receiving competitive pricing from several different providers. Perhaps those of us in all the states where a monopoly exists, and we are stuck with whatever our power company cares to charge us, should start a movement to do away with monopolies. There are laws that keep most companies from forming a monopoly but the government is still protecting select types of companies ie electricity. I think the choices which are shown on http://www.texaselectricityproviders.com/ is a great way to do business and one we should all be able to take advantage of.

(note) the preceding is a paid promotion and not a representation of this blog.

I would like to say that a person's honesty and morals cannot be separated into a personal life and a political life. We all make our decisions based on our beliefs. It is silly to think that a person can do otherwise. If you are an honest person you will not make a dishonest decision. If you live your life in dishonesty, (ie) Weiner's dishonesty in sending suggestive emails to women, not his wife, is dishonest. Therefore all his decisions and acts can and should be called into question.

It is time we, as voters, stop making excuses for those people running for office. It is time we stop accepting what they say rather than doing our homework to find out what they have done. It is time we hold all elected officials accountable. Then and only then can we expect accountability in Washington, in our state capitals and in our local government.

If you think things are going along as usual perhaps you are not spending enough time paying attention.
Our country is being run by a bunch of idiots who don't have the collective sense to run a lemonade stand.
Out of all the members of the house and the senate (do you even know how many people this is) there is perhaps a dozen who realize just how serious it is for our country to be in debt 14 trillion dollars. We can't even wrap our minds around that kind of money so how do you think we will ever pay it back.
It is real folks.
Now lets consider what is going on in Wisconsin , in Ohio , in Indiana, in Florida and there is more to come. OOps forgot New Jersey.
For far too long the public workers unions here in America have been running the show. They determine how much they will be paid, how much we will pay for their pensions, how they will run our schools and what will be taught etc etc.
Let's face it, when the unions make demands on our elected official, decisions are being made about what we, the taxpayers, will pay and the decision is being made by the idiots we elect and who will only be in office for a short time. In order to get reelected they will gladly give the unions, the ones who are contributing large sums of money to their campaigns, whatever they want in the way of wages, and benefits. They are not business people, in fact most people in politics have never run a business or paid a payroll or had to worry about the bottom line.
They worry only about getting reelected not about the good of their commuity.
In Wisconsin the union thugs have destroyed the grounds around the capital and done great damage to the interior. They have blocked and threatened the elected officials from entering their offices and they are demanding their rights, which don't exist unless they are given to them by the elected officials. They are now sending DEATH THREATS.
Meanwhile the democrats who lost the majority in the last election, just said we don't like the way things are going so we will just leave the state and go to Illinois. They have been there for over three weeks, preventing the work of the state from going forward and telling the world that this is no way to run a democracy.
Well remember this...we are not a democracy. WE are a republic. That is where we are losing it. WE don't know what we are. The first was when I stumbled upon a youtube video entitled The Obama Deception. It turned out to be an almost two hour video, not particularly about Obama but rather about the CFR and a group called Bilderberg.

I watch the complete video because, quite frankly, I couldn't pull myself away from it. It's theme was very simple. A very large group of wealthy and influential individuals and corporations plan to take over the world and run it as they see fit.

I'm sure you have heard bits and pieces about One World Order maybe under that name, maybe under another but the same idea.

Since the election of Obama we have heard much about his moving us toward socialism but after watching the video and then connecting it to other information I feel his threat is as nothing compared to the bigger threat from much more dangerous groups.

The video also indicates that it matters not, in most cases which candidate wins, they almost all fall under the influence of this group and another.

My second exposure came just a day or so later when I picked up a little book entitled "The CFR" At the top of the cover it says "America's Unelected Rulers. The book was first published in 1968 and the author is Phoebe Courtney.

I googled Phoebe and found that she had been considered a right wing radical in the 60's. She wrote several books, many of which are available online some in PDF format and some available for purchase. I would strongly advise anyone interested in our country and it's welfare to begin your own research into what has been going on for many years. Secretly.

The book goes into great detail about people and events, publication, speeches etc regarding how the CFR members had become, since the early 50's totally immersed in our government, in our schools, in our media and how they had begun, even then to turn this country the way they wanted it turned. To dumb down our educational system and through the control of the new public television stations.

They made the decision to keep the American citizens in the dark as to what they were planning and to keep from us as much information as they could about the decision making in Washington.

In 1966, despite all that was going on with Russia and with Viet Nam the following publication was released. Publication 8117, August 1966 stated.

"At the direction of the President, secretary of Sate Dean Rusk on May 11,1966 sent to the Congress purposed legislation to provide the President with authority necessary to negotiate commercial agreements with the Soviet Union and other Communist nations of Eastern Europe, to widen United States trade in peaceful goods...."

The State Department publication goes on to state that "in no case does our policy permit trade with Communist countries in war material and other strategic items".

It was a lie.

The book "CFR" follows up with a list of materials, all of which are used in making war equipment.

The list of countries to which these goods were sold include U.S.S.R., Romania,Bulgaria etc. eight in total.

On January 26, 1967 Congressman Glenard P. Lipscomb (R-Calif)revealed how the Johnson Administration is actually granting export licenses for the shipment of strategic material to the Communist bloc.

On March 18, 1968 Senator Karl Mundt (R-S.Dak) declared that while some 400 items had been previously de-controlled for export "of far more significance to the Communist bloc countries has been the adoption of a more permissive review of some 1900 categories of items still under export control as strategic materials.

Senator Karl Mundt then revealed the following:

"included among the shipments of to the Communist countries which have been specifically approved for these 1900 permissive items, are items such as the Worden gravity meter, and diethylene glycol, an ingredient used in the manufacture of explosive and liquid rocket propellants.

According to an editorial in the Richmond News Leader of August 24, 1967. The Worden gravity meter "made of quartz fibers, Worden meters require such skill that fewer than a dozen experts - all Americans - can put one together. The primary purpose of a device of such accuracy is to provide date for guided missile trajectory determinations'.

This and many more decisions which literally sent to the Communist the equipment to kill our soldiers in Viet Nam and which forbade bombing in places which could have won the war for us, happened because the decision was being made, not by officials working for the good of America but made by the "Unelected officials" who have infiltrated our government.

This is just one example among many in the book, all referenced and substantiated which occurred in that period. I guarantee you will be amazed and shocked at the things which have been going on. I personally feel like a total fool for having been negligent in my duty as a citizen as to having been totally unaware of these things.

If it was bad in the 60's it has only become far worse in the year 2010.

The CFR and the Bilderberg group are closely related, very closely with members of one group being members of the other as well. The banking industry is the basic controllers and the Fed is theirs to do with as they like. And look who is in charge, big time, in this administration. It is not Wall Street...it is banking.

Check these out:

The video, The Obama Deception http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7886780711843120756#

At http://333crucible.wordpress.com/2010/02/23/bilderberg-group/

You will learn about the Bilderberg group, several short but informative videos.

These groups have been in place since the early years of the 20th century. More people are learning of this every day and perhaps this is the reason the Tea Party groups are growing by leaps and bounds. The time has come when we must "take back our country" or lose it forever.

I'll close this with a paragraph from the book CFR:

But the CFR's plans can be thwarted!

How ? In the American way - political action at the grass-roots level by independent thinking Americans.

Inasmuch as the Constitution provides that the American people shall elect the President of the United States, it then becomes incumbent upon every liberty loving American to vote in presidential elections only for a candidate who is truly independent. A man that the CFR cannot control. And, of course, this presidential candidate must be a man who recognizes the Communist menace at home and abroad.

I hope everyone who reads this will do the research, get the information and decide to stand up for the Freedoms which our Founders fought and died to leave us. We can do no less.

I don't want to give Obama and his minions any credit so the deed I am speaking of is the first lawsuit has been filed against a horrible take over of our rights. This takeover took place this AM as Obama put pen to paper to sign into law the biggest crime against the Constitution to take place since the days of FDR's New Deal. It should have been called Raw Deal.

As each new entitlement has been enacted more and more citizens have become weaker and weaker. Anyone who believes that people are made stronger by being cared for by government, by having less and less responsibility, has certainly been drinking the kool-aid.

Just look at children. The child who is brought up in a home where responsibility is expected from an early age and where discipline is brought to bear if that responsibility is not taken seriously grows into an adult who is capable of being a wife or husband, a mother or father, a good employer or employee and a good citizen.

The child brought up in a home where nothing is expected, no responsibility is handed out or required that child has a rough time accepting responsibility in all walks of life.

The results of the signing of the healthcare bill are beginning to show themselves. While Obama is running around the country, still trying to sell this to the citizens and extolling the virtues of his bill the real facts are beginning to be known.

He's telling everyone that as of the signing of the bill there would no longer be any restriction on existing conditions on children. They would be totally covered. Well someone forgot to put it in the bill. Pretty big mistake I would say. Of course most children were already covered under the SCHIP bill which was greatly expanded just last year.

Large businesses are coming out saying how much tis will cost them and how they will probably need to put their retirees on the government plan because of costs and it will preclude hiring because of the added costs.

We have angry people taking pot shots at politicians. The liberals have been blaming the Republicans because they haven't come out hard enough against the violence. Personally I believe some of it is being staged to use as a tool against the Tea Party groups. Today however, Eric Cantor, minority whip for the Republican party, announced his office was fired on. Cantor is now charging the liberals with using these events to flame the fire and saying, while it is too bad that this is happening, these things happen all the time to people involved in public life.

I believe this is just the beginning of the problems which we are going to see thanks to the Obama administration's targeted takeover of our country.

Tell me what you think...will things get better or worse.

I know there are people for the bill as well as people against the bill. Did you know that almost half of the 32 million people who will receive healthcare will receive it through Medicaid ? Medicaid is an expense to the states in which the people live and most of our states are almost bankrupt now.
Do you really believe that an additional 30 million people can be insured without costing the government money...do you believe it could save the government money?
Do you really believe that the government gives us rights? Our constitution says our rights come from God.
States cannot go into debt like the Federal Government and so if they are required to pay out millions or billions more for medical insurance they will have to cut services in other places.

I encourage everyone to look seriously at this bill and how it will affect you.
Did you know the IRS will be in charge of dertermining that everyone has purchased Insurance?

Did you know that there will be an additional 15,000 employees added to the IRS Ranks.

Did you know that your personal financial information will be shared with Health and Human services at the Federal level.

Did you know that within this bill there is the takeover of all student loans by the Federal government? That the government will determine who gets loans and who doesn't. It will then be in the position to determine what schools teach and to whom.

I know health care for everyone sounds like a good and a charitable thing but the government is not a charity and while the bible requires us to be charitable it is the individual not the government who is to fulfill charitable actions.

Just please look into this yourselves, don't believe me or anyone else but do your own research.

If you believe as I do that this is an unconstitutional bill

Then I want to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed:

"Repeal the Health Care Bill !!!"

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/repealhealthcarebill/

I really think this is an important cause, and I'd like to encourage you to add your signature, too. There is so much mis-information out there and much of it comes from the people who bring us the news. Sometimes it comes across as though they don't understand it and sometimes they intentionally misrepresent.

I would like to offer my simple explanation, not of the bill but of how the process works.

In order for a bill go to the President's desk to be signed into law, it first must be passed by both the House and the Senate. And it must be passed in exactly the same form. No differences. So now the current bill. It was passed in the Senate in December. The House must now pass it in the exact same form. They cannot change it at all. So when you hear people like Debbie Wasserman Schultz say (as she did yesterday on Fox News) that all the sweetheart deals have been taken out, it is a total untruth...a lie. Yet she stands there and says it.

What she didn't say was that if a second bill, which the House has written to make changes to the Senate bill, is passed by the Senate, without any changes, then and only then will that bill go to the President for his signature and it would then take effect and make the changes to the original bill.

This second bill is called a reconciliation bill. A bill making these kinds of changes to our law would usually have to pass the Senate with at least 60 yea votes. The sneaky thing here is that the reconciliation bill can be passed with a simple majority of 1 vote.

Only budgetary changes can be changed with a reconciliation bill so many of the changes the House wants to make can probably not be made and if the Senate makes even one change the bill will then have to go back to the House to be passed in it's changed form.

Remember the original Senate bill, if passed by the House and signed by the President will become law with or without the second bill which contains the changes. Remember also that all those sweetheart deals which everyone was upset about in December will be signed into law.

What about the CBO score? The score that everyone talks about and which the Democrats stake everything on is not correct because the CBO can only use information given to them. They cannot do any outside checking, they must base their numbers on what the bill says will happen and usually it doesn't happen. Medicare costs today are many times what congress said they would be.

The bill uses the same dollar figures which they say will be saved from medicare to both extend medicare and to help pay for the new healthcare benefits. Everyone knows it is double counting but the CBO must include it because they cannot change it.

Just a couple more thoughts...Do you really believe that the government can handle healthcare and handle it well? Think of your last trip to the DMV or the Post Office. Do you really believe 30 million more people can be added to the medical rolls and save money?

And this, those 30 million people who have no insurance how many of them do you think can afford insurance? If they can''t afford it now why does anyone think they will be able to afford it later. They will be funded by the government and where does that money come from?

A sort of "can't see the forest for the trees" situation.

America has lost most of the industry and manufacturing jobs which provided the jobs that gave us the highest standards of living anywhere. We had it all. We were the dreams that people from other countries were dreaming. They knew if only they could find a way to get to America they could make their dreams come true.

Many people are still enjoying a high standard of living but many are now feeling the results of many years of irresponsible governance by both Republicans and Democrats.

We can put the blame squarely on our own shoulders. WE have not been aware and vigilant.

We have allowed Washington to run all over the constitution and take power away from the states. We have allowed them to move us in the direction of big government which costs us more everyday and takes away more and more of our rights and freedoms.

We have allowed our schools to change the history that our children are taught. The changing of the teaching of values in our schools has produced generations of people who do not believe in American values because they have not been taught American values.

That lack of values has filtered down into the whole educational system until now many teachers have gone through their entire education without even hearing about the constitution and without hearing any conservative values.

The progressive movement is all about big government and the fact that government knows what is good for you better than you could possibly know yourself. It is about our rights coming from government rather than from God as our founders believed. Without ever taking into consideration how this can ever work out, economically, they go on and on creating more benefits for more people at the same time what has been created in the past is now in danger of default. Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are all on the brink of bankruptcy.

How can anyone believe that you can give healthcare to millions of people and have it cost the government less. Their arguments never make sense and yet those that promote them will almost yell their talking points into your face if you question them. But please...listen to what they say. Do they ever have actual facts. Can they ever show you how it will work. Two plus two will always equal four and no amount of talking points will change it. And you cannot use the same numbes for savings in two places. Yet they try to convince us of that day after day.

Facts are facts and our debt is unsustainable. It is costing us billions of dollars in interest alone and if those interest rates go up it will not belong before it will take every cent the government collects in taxes just to pay the interest. What happens then to the normal everyday cost of running government.

Since Obama has been elected Federal workers salaries have increases tremendously and the number of Federal employees has also seen a very large increase. Did you know that while the number of construction workers who are out of work is holding around 23% but the number of Federal employees who have lost their jobs is 3% ? Doesn't that make you wonder.

Are you aware that the average Federal salary (including benefits) is thousands of dollars higher than that in the private sector?

Have you stopped to think that every person who works in government takes money out of the economy because they do not produce, while employees in the private sector are putting money into the overall economy. And have you considered the only way we can have more money in this country is to manufacture and produce something that we can sell to other countries? Big government only means taking more and more money from the private sector to pay for government which does not product but which consumes?

WE will only once more be a strong country when we all get back to being responsible citizens. We must provide for ourselves and help others who cannot help themselves but we should not expect the government to provide for us. The Federal government has one job and that is to keep us safe. That is the one thing the founders knew the states could not provide for seperately.

If you only get your news from a few minutes of news a day or from the little that is correctly reported in the newspapers then you really probably need more facts. This is your country and your children and grandchildren will be the ones to suffer if we fail to take back our government from the big government that is eating us alive.

So here we go again.
Everyday I think I will wake up and find that the mess we call government is not real it is a nightmare and so will go away. But it doesn't.

Can someone, anyone tell me what is wrong with the people in Washington or in any of the 50 statehouses in the US or in any of the counties or cities of those states? What part of being out of money don't they understand? Did none of them study economics ? Have none of them ever managed a budget at home or run a business? What is it going to take to get these people to understand. We are out of money. Stop spending.

This morning in my local paper, Sunsentinal of Fort Lauderdale, there is a story about a decision which the commissioners had made regarding a group of homes which house poor people in the city. The homes were built in the 1940's and are well maintained and really Historic.

The powers that be have decided to tear them down. They will move the residents, most of whom are elderly and have lived there for years, into temporary housing and rebuild the complex.

At the last budget hearings for the city there were threats of having to lay off fireman and police. Close parks and cut many other services. Revenues were down and they were in trouble.

As far as I can see nothing has changed in the months since then. Our real estate market is still flat or perhaps even falling, the unemployment is still extremely high. So why now. Why would any person vote to create this spending of funds that they don't have. What is wrong with these people? Can someone tell me?

Let me hear your thoughts.

We have individuals losing their homes and their jobs, we have banks and businesses folding, we have cities that can't afford to pay for needed services for citizens but yet...
We have CEO's making not hundreds of thousands but many million dollars a year in salary and benefits, we have cities paying out hundreds of thousands per year to retired employees, far more than the tax payer, who is paying these bills, will ever make. We have public funds wasted again and again on studies which are never followed up on, on contracts to people who should never have received them and are not capable of providing the service they contract for, on art and beautification which, while nice, is totally uncalled for in times like these, on printing and mailing to people who most likely will never read them and who could access them online if they are interested. Here in Broward county and other places throughout the country thousands of dollars have been spent on electronic voting machines which was later decided wasn't fool proof and then other machines have been purchased to replace them and still everyone is not happy. As if any system is ever fool proof.
WE have people running for and elected to offices for which they have no qualifications and here they are making decisions on million and billion dollar budgets.
Isn't it time for someone to stand up and stop. That person has to be you and me and as many citizens as it might take to do the job.
What's your take on this???Donna

Here goes again. A Blog...seems to be something that part of the world has made part of daily life and then there is the rest who are still saying "what is a blog".
I like to think I am a party of the first part but if so I am just hanging on the tail end of it and flapping in the breeze.
I think I will dedicate next week to "learning the blog". Each time I think I'll just skim through a little research on a particular subject I get there and go "oh my gosh" too much, too much. I read the first few pages, usually without understanding a lot of it and then, just click, click, click. I tell myself I'll come back to this later but then, as so often happens on a computer I just wander off and get lost.
If you read this and have thoughts on the subject please take a few minutes and write it down. I look forward to hearing your thoughts...Donna
