Trying Sugarpill Shadows For The First Time...

I had a job coming up where the client needed a very intense purple... but not shimmer. Purple is one of my favorite shadow colors and famously one of the hardest colors for companies to get perfect and rich with pigment. Then I thought of Sugarpill. I've heard so many people swear by their purple.. oddly enough I've tried several times to order their palette with the purple shadow included but it is always sold out. Well I found out they now have individual pans you can buy and the purple was in stock!! So I ordered the the purple (Poison Plum) , yellow (Buttercupcake) & a pink (Dollipop)

The purple is indeed out of this world. It puts my Makeup Forever purple to shame which is saying a lot being that the Sugarpill pans are $10 and MUFE pans are $21. It has in an instant become my favorite purple shadow. It's a true to life grape purple that totally packs a punch. What a shame I'm just getting it!! Yellow is another favorite shadow of mine. I love yellow shadow on deeper skin tones. That yellow is crazy. I am completely in love. It blows any matte yellow I have out the water. My favorite yellow shimmer is by Inglot... but this matte yellow, just wow! And the pink. I don't have any stand out pink mattes in my collection. So I figured I would pick that one up. It is so intense it's overwhelming. It's amazing...it's a very blue based, high pigment pink that reminds me of MAC's candy yum yum lipstick. Not for the timid! Perfect for Me. Lol

These Sugarpill shadows are no joke. If you are on the market for shadows that have some serious pigment and last for hours (they lasted a full 7 hours, no creasing on me) these are the ones to try. I will DEFINITELY be getting more. Princess Brittany approved! 💃💋

Rimmel London's MAGNIFY'EYES SHADOW Palette: Review

I love that drugstore companies ie: Revlon, Maybelline,etc have started making full on palettes. But, in my opinion they are too expensive and of sub par quality. I've tried them and all and haven't really liked any of them. Wet n Wild remains a favorite with their smaller palettes that are excellent quality, amazing pigmentation... they actually rival their high end counter parts. And NYX is a long time favorite and has always been consistent with their eye shadows. But Revlon, Maybelline, L'Oreal. and Covergirl really shocked me. Covergirl just released something new that looks promising! I'll be checking it out 😜
But Rimmel... BAM! These new 12 pan highly pigmented, smooth, very good quality palettes blew me away! My only gripe is they need to come out with more palettes... more color! I've warn these shadows on four different occasions so I have a pretty good barometer of how they work. I've used the darker shadows as liner and the bluish grey in the middle as a light wash of color during the day and they lasted a full day. Got home and it looked just as it did when I applied it more than 7 hours prior. I've done full smoky eye looks in different variations out at night and it stood up all night with no fading. I did use an eye primer, I never wear eye shadow without a primer.

The shadows swatch well and apply to the eye with equal intensity. I can honestly say that each and every shadow is rich in pigment and performance. If I were to nit pick the 2 near the middle (to the right of the bluish one) look very similar on the eye. One is a dark grey and one is kind of khaki army green. They are a little indistinguishable when applied. But if that's the only real complaint from a 12 pan palette that you can get for $7.99 I think that's pretty awesome. I see me getting a lot of use out of this one. That's what you want when you spend your money on something. No matter the price. DEFINITELY Princess Brittany approved! 💋💃

Face Primers by RIMMEL

My all time favorite primer is the award winning Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. Until recently when it came to a drugstore alternative I would always suggest Revlon's. Recently I kept hearing so much about the RIMMEL primer from other youtubers and bloggers I had to give it a shot.
Much to my surprise once finding them in my local CVS I realized how inexpensive they are and there were 3 of them! Of course I got all three.
I will start with my least favorite. Ok... fine. I don't like it. The Fix & Perfect Primer #001
(far right above) It does nothing for me. It's a creamy peachy color and all it does on my brown skin is make me ashy and it does not prolong the wear of my foundation. It's as if I'm not even wearing a primer. Luckily it was only $6.49 so I don't feel so bad.
The next one I really like. The Fix & Perfect Pro Primer #002 (middle above)
It promises to smooth, resurface, brighten, mattify, and protect your foundation. And also prolong it's wear. I can agree with all these things. It goes on smoothly, it's a creamy white substance that blends into your skin doesn't leave a cast like the other one. I feel it's a great primer in moderate weather. It's downfall is if it's too warm/hot out it ceases to perform after a few hours and it's mattifying properties become nonexistent. Otherwise for the price $6.99, you're getting a pretty decent product. I would recommend it if you're going to work, school, etc but not for extended use outdoors.
The third one... the Stay Matte Primer is my favorite. (first on left above)
This primer gets right to the point. It says it will control shine for up to 8 hours and that its ultra light formula will minimize the appearance of your pores. And it does just that. It is indeed extremely light weight, you will feel as though you're not wearing a primer at all. And, it really does last a long time. It promises 8 hours and I actually got close to 10! If you can keep me matte that long you're a winner in my book! I use this one the most easily. At $7.99 it was the most of the bunch but still quite affordable. My Smashbox primer is over $30 so it's all a bargain to me.
The Stay Matte Primer is one I would definitely repurchase.
In comparison none of these offer as smooth a base as Smashbox or other high end primers I'm sure but the last two absolutely do their job and are well worth your money.

Antonio Lopez for MAC Cosmetics!

If you know me you I don't get excited about MAC and their countless collections. Well they finally have my attention and that hasn't happened since the Wonder Woman collection. MAC is releasing a limited edition collection inspired by the iconic puerto rican fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez! In his short life the legendary Lopez made an unforgettable mark in fashion. Three of his muses (pictured above) Marisa Berenson, Jerry Hall and Pat Cleveland have joined forces in the fabulous promotion. Just seeing these groundbreaking models who are legends in their own right come together to pay tribute to their friend is enticement enough for me!

Here's one of Lopez' illustrations and one of the palettes I can hardly wait to get my hands on. You know I loves me some purple! Looks like I'll be doing a little MAC shopping! The collection debuts in the fall on September 12th and runs till about October 12th. Mark your calenders!

Maybelline's Fit Me Concealer

I think I have found my favorite product by Maybelline. I love their mascara's but I absolutely love this concealer. The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is one of the best drug store concealers I have ever tried. I how ever am not a fan of the Fit Me Foundations primarily because I favor full coverage foundations. Fit Me foundations are one of the most sheer foundations I'm aware of, it's nearly a BB Cream in my opinion. The fact that my favorite concealer is by Makeup Forever and I find this drug store brand nearly comparable is a quite a statement. It's very creamy, easily lasts all day and is easy to work with. At $6.99 a pop and being nearly on par with it's high end counter parts I consider it a no brainer. A must have!

Coastal Scents 26 Shadow Blush Palette

This palette from Coastal Scents has quickly become one of my favorite I have ever gotten from them. When it comes to a palette of natural colors I think this is their best. Not only are you getting lovely colors for the eyes you're also getting a great mix of blushes. One of the blushes is a very light pink and works perfect as a highlight.. especially for darker skin tones. There is a good mix of shimmer and matte shadows, awesome choice of browns and a couple of beautiful oranges & purples. This is an excellent palette for everyday use, and it's wonderful for brides. You can create a multitude of looks from this one palette. There are two cons, but they are in my opinion very small. There is no actual white and no black. The palette it economical enough that buying those to accompany it isn't a problem... most people likely have a good black & white already.. For myself the two blushes on the far right more than pay for the whole palette. I love them! They are excellent! I tend to favor La Femme blushes and these are on par with them. Then you get all the lovely eye colors as well. This easily gets 5 stars from me. I got it on sale for about $15. There is always a sale going on their site. I recommend checking for a sale before buying, there is one every week.

IMAN Cote d' Azur Palette

I have long been a big fan of IMAN's foundations & powders but I had yet to delve much into her other products. I decided to give the eye shadows a shot and what way better than to start with a palette. The one that spoke to me right off the bat is the one called Cote d' Azur. That translates to The French Riviera for us Americans lol. Well just as with the other products I fell in love with these are of similar quality. The set comes with four eye shadows, two lipsticks, two lip glosses, a blush and a cream bronzer. It becomes quite apparent why IMAN's products are called luxury, they are infinitely luxurious.

The lipsticks are moisturizing and long lasting... the red is one of the most dynamic blue based reds I've ever had. And, the glosses are rich and very pigmented and not sticky. The blush while too light for me is good for someone lighter.. it has a nice delicate shimmer.
The cream bronzer is really nice. Once applied it dries to a nice smooth powdery consistency and doesn't even feel like it's there. The eye shadows, oh the eye shadows! They are fab! The black is very very black with little glitters reminiscent of MAC's Black Tied. The purple eye shadow (my favorite shadow color) has tiny shimmers of gold through out. The sliver is a high shine luster that packs even more of a punch when wet. And the final shadow is a champagne color which works great as a brow bone highlight for me. Everything really has excellent pigment and decent staying power. It's well worth the $20 that it costs. There's an accompanying palette to this called St. Tropez. Same layout but the colors are more neutral, like earth tones. Cote d' Azur gets a 10 from me!

Revlon Extra Curl Lash Curler

Revlon's lash curlers have long been a favorite of mine. My second favorite in fact, Shu Uemura being first and foremost. Well recently the tide has changed, I'm caught somewhere in the middle. Since having to replace a lash curler...once again! Why do people steal? Urg... I digress
Revlon has updated their lash curlers. The Revlon Extra Curl Lash Curler is really on par with Shu Uemura now... in my opinion. I am absolutely in love with this lash curler! It doesn't pinch your lid at all yet it gets a firm hold of your lashes and curls them seamlessly. The pinching is a problem I find with less expensive curlers ie: ELF or the like. I honestly don't find much of a difference between Revlon & Shu Uemura which is fantastic considering Revlon's is less than half the price.
Shu Uemura is $20 and Revlon is $7.99. I love when I can share a true bargain all the better when the quality exceeds expectations!

Quick Mention: L'OREAL Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner

I just got L'oreal's Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner. I love it. I have been on a search lately for a really good eyeliner. Other that my regular fav's MAC's Smolder & Feline and also Milani's Liquif'eye. Ok, back to L'oreal. They promise that this mechanical pencil will last 16 hours, that it is smudge proof and two times the intensity of your average eyeliner. Well, I wore it for 9 hours and it didn't budge.. I don't know if the occasion will come where I'll need it for 16 hours but it's nice to know that it may stand the test! As far as it being two times the intensity of you average liner... well I'll say this: it's exceptionally good for a drugstore brand. It's no Smolder.. but then, what is? I have it in Carbon Black and it's very black which I love, that is a must for me. And it features something I've never seen on one of these mechanical pencils.. it has a built in sharpener on the top paired with a smudger (you better use the smudger quick, remember it's smudge proof!) And! it's pretty cool to have the sharpener. So for the record.. I really like it, perhaps better than Maybelline's Master Drama pencil I reviewed a while back. It lines both the top & bottom lash perfectly. I got it from Ulta for $8.99
Boy do I love having an Ulta here in NYC now! ;)

L'OREAL Studio Secrets Anti-Dull Skin Primer

I Love this product! It's the Loreal Studio Secrets #2 Anti-Dull Skin Primer which also acts as a corrector. This particular number in the series (#2) is made to compliment deep skin tones. Orangy, peachy tones are always great on people of color. You get a lot of product considering that you only have to use an extremely small amout per application. The pump dispenses quite a bit of product, don't let it scare you.. a lot will come out. Just take it and blend it in very well until there's an even layer on your skin. It will be very ashy in appearance, but that is ok. On top of the (light) layer you've created then apply your concealer and/or foundation and you will see the benefits it's afforded you. It creates a nice canvas for your foundation and a lovely brigtening quality. Brightening not lightening. I really like this product, and the good thing is it will last forever, the .68 Fl. Oz. you get is ample. Now that I've tried this I want to also try the face primer in this series. I've seen lots of glowing reviews on it. That is next! I purchased it at Target for $13.99

NYX Nude on Nude Palette

It's surprising being the NYX fanatic that I am.. but I am just getting the Nude on Nude palette! NYX's palette of 20 eye shadows and 10 lip colors is their take on the very popular Naked palette by Urban Decay. The shadows for the most part are a mix of browns & beiges and a white with black and some deeper browns which is perfect for a smoky eye look. There are 8 matte shadows, the other 12 being a mix of shadows with glitter, shine and frost. They are all well pigmented. Having such a mix of textures in my opinion makes it somewhat superior to the UD version. UD is amazing but they're insistence in doing palettes with hardly and matte shades is a bit frustrating.
This palette also comes with 10 lip colors that are selected for the looks made with the shadows. That could be debated, but it's good to have extra lip colors. I myself am not a big fan of lip products with my eye shadow palettes... but that's just Me. NYX's Nude on Nude is $25 and UD's is $48. At a cost that's nearly half of UD's palette and considering the undeniable quality of NYX's I'd say it's a must have item. I Love It!

Small ELF Haul

I needed to replenish the things I love by ELF Cosmetics so I made an order because I cannot find the items I need at either of my local Target's. From the top row: Probably my most favorite thing ELF makes is their Cool Bronzer, it has no shimmer and it great for use as bronzer or contour. The High Definition Powder, I absolutely love it. In my opinion it's just as good as MUFE HD Powder yet it's only $6 ( warning: you don't a lot of product ). I know some people have issues with using the HD powders.. what you need to remember is it's all in the buffing. You MUST buff this product out very well or You will have disastrous results. Second row: The Creme Eyeliner in Black. I've recently discovered that I like this product from them. It lasts a long time (all day not 24hrs) and it doesn't fade. Next..the Liquid Eyeshadow in Sexy Silver. Well... I went to go use it after having it for 2 weeks and it was completely dried out. Need I say anymore? Then a Mineral Shadow in a purple shade called Flirty. I've yet to wear it, I watched it & it's beautiful. Bottom row: I got 2 Creme Shadows one in Black Licorice and the other in Butter Pecan. I primarily use these as a base for a powdered shadow that's similar in color.

Quick Mention: Maybelline Master Drama Eye Liner

Maybelline is a brand that I don't really use except for their Mascaras..love the Falsies! But I succumbed to the marketing and tried the Master Drama Eye Liner and Loved It! It's a creamy pencil, comes in 5 colors I believe and promises a 24hour wear. The color I have is Coal Commander and I can attest to the long wear.. I don't know about 24hour (who does that? lol) but it lasted all day and night ( I wore it about 15hours).
I have to say it stacks up to it's higher end counter parts. I got it for $7.99.
Remember when drugstore brands were really cheap? $7.99 is not exactly expensive.. but I'm just sayin' ;-)

NYX Lipsticks, Lipliners & Lip Gloss

I was in need of some new lipsticks so I went to one of my local beauty supply stores (best place near me) to get Me some NYX! First let me say that these lipsticks are so moisturizing! It's a lip balm and lip color all in one.
Starting from the right: The gorgeous Fuchsia Pink lip gloss called 'African Queen'.. I am in love with it. Highly recommended. The Lipsticks: (LtoR) 'Hades' Which is a good nudish color for me. I've since discovered another NYX Lipstick called 'Tea' (not pictured) even better as a nude!
An orange color with a little shimmer called 'NYX' it's Ok, not one of my favorites.
Next is 'Very Berry' a rich wine color. Followed by 'Electra' a blue based Red. It's absolutely gorgeous, reminds me of MACs Ruby Woo. Then lying in front: 'Medusa' the perfect Vamp lipstick. Somewhat similar to 'Very Berry' but richer & deeper, reminds me of MACs 'Under World'. Then I got two Lipliners (LtoR) 'Currant', which I got because I thought it would be the counterpart to MACs Currant...not so. It's not as pigmented and it has a slight shimmer to it. Me no likey. And, 'Plum' which is a classic Plum color.
The Lipticks were $5 each, the Lip gloss $6 and Lipliners $3 each.

In Love with INGLOT!

I have completely fallen in love with INGLOT. I got this 5 pan palette of their eyeshadows at IMATS NYC in April. They more than lived up to all the hype I had been reading and hearing about. The pigment is out of this world and the amount of product you get for the price is amazing. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love NYX products, well INGLOT has come along and evened out the playing field. I have heard so many people say INGLOT is the new MAC and I have to say I totally agree. MAC has decent products but this ideal of them being the standard is about time being challenged. The only thing I don't like about INGLOT is this number system instead of naming their colors. Names would be sooo much better.
The colors in the palette I have all have a shimmer to them, glitter in some cases. I made the mistake of throwing away the plastic casing they come in so I don't remember the numbers unfortunately. (left to right) The Orange is the boldest I have ever had. The next is a Purple.. it's photographing as really Red, it is not that red in person. There is a reddish undertone to this purple but not as pronounced as this picture implies. The Yellow is a perfect primary Yellow. The Blue is very interesting... it's a kind if sky blue yet somewhat deep... it's gorgeous. And the Black is crazy.. in a good way! It's like MAC's Black Tied times 20. It's a very deep dark pigmented black with gold and reddish shimmers throughout... Fabulous!!
It took me a while to really get into the shadows but once I did... Wow! I'm in Love. Since having this palette I've gotten to try their other products and the whole line is excellent. Everything I've tried is of top notch quality. Thankfully we have a store here in Times Square.. which I've stayed away from on purpose... I'm saving it for my birthday. Next month is my birthday and the INGLOT store will be my gift to myself.
Yes my name is Brittany and I am obsessed. If there's a cure for this I don't want it! LOL

I LOVE These Eyeliners!

I haven't posted in quite sometime, but I'm back! I didn't have a camera for a while and this season I have been very busy. Thank God! LOL Well, I'm choosing one of latest obsessions as the first thing to blog about since my hiatus... Milani's Liquif'eye Eyeliners... they are Amazing. This is one of those things I kept seeing people review and use in tutorials yet I had never tried them myself. Boy was I missing out.. once I tried them I don't know how I survived without them!
They go on so smooth & creamy, crazy amazing pigment and once they are on they are ON! As Milani promises they are truly smudge-proof. Once applied if you want to smudge them out move quickly because after 60 seconds or less they don't budge. They are similar to Urban Decay's 24/7 Pencil in this respect. Even if you like using MakeUp Forever's Aqua Liner this would be a good dupe.. they are not waterproof like the MUFE pencil but unless your swimming it would work fine.
I had an allergy attack one night wearing this liner, wiped my eyes several times... liner was intact!
At $7 a pop it's half the price or less than the other two. Big thumbs up, A must have!

The NYX 'All I've Ever Wanted Box'

Continuing my love affair with NYX Cosmetics I not too long ago got my first large palette from them. They have truly become my favorite as far as eye shadow goes, the pigment is out of this world. I am totally in love with this palette, I use it nearly every day! It blows the Coastal Scents palettes out of the water. NYX is high end quality at affordable prices!

It comes with 72 eye shadows.. a mix of shimmers and matte finishes. Then when you slide the top layer side ways it opens up to 6 lip colors, 4 blushes, a highlight, a contour, a bronzer and a face powder.

On the NYX website this palette is $28 however I paid about $17 for it on the bargain site HauteLook.com. Join HauteLook and you can save on everything from cosmetics, to shoes, clothing, things for the house and much more. The sales vary from 40% off and up! It's an excellent place to get designer things for much, much cheaper prices. Just FYI: it's takes about a month to receive your purchases, so keep that in mind. Xoxox Brittany

Starting from the left: I got 2 ELF Hypershine Liplosses in Fairy & Blossom $1. Back row: Lipstick by Covergirl in Enthrall Charme. I got four brushes: white brush Sonia Kashuk Shaped Blending Brush $4.99 middle blk brush ELF Studio Blush Brush $3 next Target Medium Shadow Brush $2.49 in front Target Kabuki Brush $5.99. Then I finally got the two Wet n Wild Trios I've been wanting since they came out! Left to right: I'm Feeling Retro & Spoiled Brat $3.99 each.

The Hypershine Lipglosses I feel in love with a few weeks ago, so I just got that they had there.
I lost my Kabuki so I wanted a new one... I haven't really used this one yet but I like the denseness of the bristles I expect it to be good. As you can see there's something against me getting these Wet n Wild trios. I finally got the 2 I've been dying for, then get it home and drops it on the floor and the white in the I'm Feeling Retro breaks :( Grrrr LOL But I have them! & I tried them the pigment is ridiculous! The Covergirl Lipstick is very creamy and moisturizing. I think they've changed their formula, this was not the case in the past. I recommend it!

ps: I went to this store while I was out ONLY to get a new Kabuki. So much for self control! :-D

Orange-U-Purple

I loved wearing this look. Very colorful eyes. Very orange. Very purple. The colors on the eyes are entirely NYX, I will be posting something about NYX very soon... I'm obsessed! NYX is now my favorite when it comes to eyeshadow. Sorry MAC, I Love NYX now ;) Not to say I don't love other products with good pigment ie: Makeup Forever, Inglot, NARS,etc. But when it comes to price & quality... it's NYX all the way baby!
