Dear Parents,

Welcome Back! This year we welcome new faculty members to our St. Edmund's family: Ms. Krystal Chin (Pre-K), Mr. Mattew Rosado (6th grade) and Ms. Jillian Cianflone (7th grade). This year promises to be a new and exciting school year here at St. Edmund's!

The Early Childhood Parent Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, September 5th at 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall followed by a class orientation with your child's teacher.

Our Home School Meeting for Grades 1-8 is scheduled for Wednesday, September 11th at 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall. There will be a special 8th Grade parent meeting on the same night at 6:30 PM. After my brief presentation, you will go upstairs to meet your child’s teacher! Parents who have children in Grades 6-8 will remain in the Parish Hall to meet with all departmental teachers.Teachers will explain their goals for the year, so please make your best effort to attend and meet your child's teacher.

Welcome back! I hope everyone had great and relaxing summer. The school year has gotten off to a good start. Everyone has come back eager to learn and grow.

New teachers at St. Edmund Elementary School are Mrs. Josephine Russo, 5^th grade; Ms. Janelle Gatto, 6^th grade; and Mr. Daniel Goncalves, Technology Coordinator. Along with the returning teachers and staff, they will do a great job providing an outstanding education for your children.

I would also like to welcome all of our new parents and guardians to St. Edmund! I think we have great students and a great staff and look forward to partnering with you to provide your child the best education possible.

Welcome and Congratulations to our Nursery, Pre-K and Kindergarten students and parents upon joining our St. Edmund Elementary School family for the 2011-2012 school year! It was a true pleasure meeting with you last Thursday and seeing the enthusiastic faces of the children on their first day of school.

Dear Parents,

Greetings, welcome back to school! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new principal at St. Edmund Elementary School. As the new principal here at St. Edmund's I will endeavor to work with you to continue our school's mission to provide your child with academic excellence and further the development of their faith and service to community leadership.

The 2011-2012 school year promises to be an exciting one. I am very excited to join the St. Edmund School and church family as your new principal. I am so impressed with the school and the outstanding staff that God has assembled together.

It is my goal to make our school a place where knowledge, faith and family meet to educate our children in mind, body and spirit. I look forward to being a member of the St. Edmund School family and sharing with you and your children a growing love of learning, leadership and faith. Together we can help each child realize their full potential.

The children at St. Edmund's are blessed to have loving, Spirit-filled teachers and parents through the critical preschool and elementary years of their lives. I look forward to meeting each of you and serving you as we head into a new school year.

Dear Parents,

I am happy to write to you as I have returned from my maternity leave. My family is blessed with the arrival of Bridget Catherine, and she is growing and blossoming more and more each day. I cannot thank all of you enough for your support, prayers and well wishes during the pregnancy and birth of our daughter. We are very lucky to have your support!

It is very hard for me to write this to you… I have made some tough decisions over the past few months, and after much reflection and prayer, I have decided that I will not be returning to St. Edmund in the fall. This decision was not an easy one by any means. I love being a part of St. Edmund, as I have been for 16 years. I have been blessed to work with such incredible people, and dually blessed to serve the children and families of this community.

Over the next months, Fr. Brophy will head a committee to find a replacement, and when a new principal has been selected, we will notify all of you.

Thank you for your attention and understanding. I hope to see all of you before the end of the school year.

Reminder that Virtus training is Thursday, November 4th at 7:30 PM in the Parish Hall. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP! If you are unable to attend, please go to virtus.org to register for a workshop in another location. Starting November 30th, if you are not trained in Virtus, you may not volunteer for the school! This includes going on class field trips.

Welcome to the new website, and special thanks to Ms. Christine Zaremba, Technology Coordinator, for her hard work! We are hoping this will be utilized more often, so please check back as much as you can for new updates!

Special congratulations to our NERD HERD! What a terrific job, and we are all keeping our fingers crossed for the competition at the Javits Center in March!

Don't forget, NIGHT AT THE RACES is at the end of the month, January 30th!
