Fun with Fashion: Playing Dress Up!

Ciao darlings,

I've had quite an interesting past week or so; I've been a little stressed (what else is new). School (Midterms!!) and other issues have been bothering me. I absolutely hate arguing with people. There are very few people in the world I argue with and not even very often, but I hate it. Feeling like you've hurt someone or that they've hurt you, especially when you love them, is an awful thing. Now that I think about it, I guess I really only ever argue with people I love; I don’t care enough about the opinions of those I don’t to argue with them. Everything's all right now, I’m pretty sure. I just need to keep myself focused and just try to deal with everything as best as I can. To cheer myself up, I saw "The Vow" with my mom last week. It is such a cute movie! It was so sweet how much the husband in the movie loved his wife, and Channing Tatum is absolutely adorable! See it, it's precious!

Anyway, on to the point of this post! I think I told you guys that one day during my winter break from school, in the beginning of January, I spent a day essentially playing dress up! Haha! Don't judge me! I have always loved pretty, girly, frilly, things, especially dresses/skirts, the poofier and more tutu-like the better! I bought a few of these fun petticoats and skirts a while ago, in the summer, I think, but I never wore them until then. I was bored and needed a fun day to myself before school started this semester, so I turned on some fun music and dressed up in all my frilly skirts and took pictures. Most fashion bloggers are pretty much playing dress-up, some not as much, some more-so, but it's all basically having fun with fashion. It does not make you immature. I have loved girly, frilly, dresses since I was a little girl, and I will love them until I'm an old woman; age doesn't change what you love. One thing it has done though is change how much I care about other's opinion of me or what I do. I will wear pink tutu skirts and take pictures when I feel like it and if you think I'm strange, that's awesome for you, but has no effect on me.

So, I finally finished looking though the pictures and editing them, so here they are! They're a little over a month old, so I figured I should hurry up and post them. It's interesting to look at pictures and see how you can change a little in a month or so. I've dyed my hair a little darker (was dark brown, now it's black) since then and have lost some more weight, but I still love the pictures. I look cute and I know it! Lol! 1.) Pastel Fairy

I adore this petticoat I bought from Domino Dollhouse's website. They have a lot of them in other colors right now too. So girly and fun! Very fun to twirl in! Ha! Yes, I do think I’m a fairy princess, deal with it.

2.) Bubblegum Tutu!

I absolutely adore this skirt! I took dance class when I was about 6 or 7 for about a year and my favorite part was definitely the outfits, particularly the tutu! I love the bubblegum pink color of this skirt,the poofyness, and the layers of frilly chiffon! It looks like such a delightful confection! Obviously, it makes me happy.

3.) Pink Circle Skirt

I couldn’t figure out how to wear this skirt. First of all, I bought it in the summer and now it’s way too big, so I had to try to clip it in the back, which didn’t work so well. Second, I couldn’t figure out what kind of top to wear with it. I tried a few different ones…which do you like? I love the skirt though and the petticoat I got to go with it, underneath.

4.) Mint Fairy?

So I got the same skirt as in the first outfit in this pretty mint color as well. I decided I’d wear something else I bought and never wore with it: my Lime Crime “Mint to Be” lipstick. Definitely my most subtle colored lipstick, no? While I love the color, no I wouldn’t wear it outside my house (ha!) and I don’t really like it on me too much…maybe on someone with lighter hair… I look like a crazy Tinkerbell, ha!

"Lola"

Short Story:

“Lola”

It was a bright and beautiful Saturday afternoon. It was winter; the sky was a lovely and enchanting bluish-gray, and there were tiny snowflakes falling slowly from the few clouds scattered across the sky. Lola had spent most of the day being excited about and getting ready to see Wally, her boyfriend of the past few months. She tried very hard not to seem so needy and desperate to see him, but she had been having trouble disguising her emotions lately, particularly around him. This was strange for her because she tended to be the kind of girl who was very good at concealing the fact that she liked a guy. She had grown quite tired of it over the years. Something was different with Wally; she did not want to hide her feelings from him, even though she had a terrifying fear of rejection based on years of liking boys who had never returned her affections, though most of them had no idea she liked them anyway. She was not usually one to go after a guy; she had usually waited around for them to pursue her. This was new and different though. She wanted to see Wally and talk to him all the time, even though she was a little shy. She had not seen him in about a week, which does not sound like a very long time, but to her it felt like months. Maybe she was being a little overdramatic but she did not care. Every time she would go a while without seeing him and start to miss him, it would remind her of the time not so long ago that she had missed him without knowing if she would ever see him again. She tried not to think about that time, for it made her sad, but once in a while, when she was missing him, those thoughts would sneak into her mind. She knew now that he did love her and would not be leaving, but she had always been a worrier.

She woke up that morning hours before she needed to, so she would have time to choose an outfit that would make her feel confident and hopefully one in which Wally would think she looked beautiful. She also needed time to fix her long thick hair and put on her makeup. As she put on her favorite pink lipstick, she could not help but imagine the last time she had kissed Wally. It was magical, even though he always made her a little nervous. It was not because he did anything or that he scared her or anything, in fact he made her feel so happy whenever he was near. She just loved him so much that she was somewhat paralyzed by it in a way. She would always tell herself before they would meet: “This time when I see him, I will grab him and kiss him, and then not be too shy to talk to him about absolutely everything!” Then, she would see him, all her plans would disappear, and her mind would go blank. Well, maybe blank is the wrong way to describe it because she was always thinking and over thinking about everything! Her mind would just get clouded by certain thoughts when she saw him, causing her to forget the list of things she wanted to talk to him about. She would stare into his eyes as he spoke, recording every word in her mind. As she did this her thoughts would wander and think things like: “God, I love him so much. I wonder if he thinks of me the way I think of him. What was it I wanted to say to him….I made a list somewhere…who knows? I just wish he’d grab me and hold me and kiss me right now. He’s so adorable…and I love the way he talks and says my name. Oh gosh, he’s asked me another question that’s difficult for me to answer aloud…if I do not respond he’s going to think I’m an idiot. Why can’t I answer this?…what has he asked me? Where do I want our relationship to go? Hmm…well I want to spend the rest of my life with him, I want to kiss him right now and always. I want his hands caressing my…everything…oh gosh, what am I thinking about, he’s waiting for me to answer…focus!” Then she would finally mutter something about how it’s a hard question to answer and that she didn’t know, feeling like she should have tried harder or that she had failed a test.

It was almost three o’clock, and she was planning to meet him at four at their local coffee shop and bookstore. She tried to think of what she could do to make herself act more comfortable and talk to him more. She had this terrifying fear that one day he would grow tired of her shyness that he had initially told her was cute and sweet, and would leave her. She could not bear the thought of letting her ridiculous lack of outgoing social skills ruin something so important to her. She did not want to let her shyness ruin what could be her fairy tale. Her prince had finally shown up, and she could not bear the thought of losing him. Lola arrived to meet him a half hour early and as she wandered around the bookshelves, her mind drifted off into a wishful daydream:

Wally arrived at Lola’s house to visit her on a lovely winter evening. Snow was softly falling behind his silhouette in her door. She opened the door, their eyes met, and he grabbed her, wrapping his arms around her, pulling her into a long, passionate kiss. He made her entirely forget that she was nervous and that she was rather inexperienced. He made her feel like she was the only girl in the world that mattered to him. They spent the rest of the evening cuddled in each other’s arms, whispering sweet words for no one else to hear in each other’s ears, and kissing like they’d been in love for years.

“Bzzzzzz!” Lola’s cell phone buzzed loudly in her purse, shocking her out of her daydream and back into reality. Slightly disappointed, she reached into her purse and checked her phone. It was a message from Wally. He would be there in five minutes, he said. She went and sat at a table, reading a book while she waited for him, trying not to lose her nerve. Shortly after, he arrived. She saw him walk towards her and as much as she swore to herself that she would not let it happen again, the sight of him made her forget and be completely unable to do and say everything she had planned. She said hello and they exchanged pleasantries. She had let it happen again…and it made her somewhat disappointed in herself. Why was it so hard for her to go after what she wanted? She had a nice time, as she always did when she spent time with him, but she still wished she had not lost her nerve and had been able to come up with more things to say to him. Although it may have been inappropriate in the middle of a public place, she wished for nothing else but for him to tell her how much he loved her, kiss her, and make her forget about what she had been so nervous. Soon, a few hours had gone by and it was time to go.

“Next time, it will happen like in my daydreams” she thought. Maybe she was being a bit too greedy. She should not have expected all her dreams to come true all at one time. At least she had found her prince; the rest would hopefully come later. She was very happy to be in love with him and though she still wanted more, she would have to wait. She had always been so patient throughout most of her life, why now was she being so impatient all of a sudden. It must be because she loves him and had never felt this way about anyone before. Hopefully, good things will come to those who wait. One day soon she would be able to talk to him without her mind being so clouded and one day the things in her daydreams would come true. She had to believe it, being such a dreamer hopefully would not fail her this time. Wally was everything she had ever wanted. As she watched him walk out the door, she smiled, and hoped they would be very happy together forever.

The Power of Words

Ciao everyone,

I wanted to write about something I have been thinking about lately and much of my life, the power of words (I'm an English Literature minor who loves to read...). Spoken or written, either way, I feel that sometimes some people do not entirely realize the power, influence, or effect that words can have. Words can build confidence, tear it down, express emotion, make one fall in love, cause various emotions, cause people to end their lives, or even convince them they have a reason to live, among many other things. I realize these do not always apply, depending on the person and situation, but they are just some general and some extreme examples. I know, I think about random and strange things, but I feel it's important. I just wanted to write my opinion on this subject that has been on my mind for a few reasons lately and has been affecting a few different parts of my life.

One example of this I have thought about lately is when you tell someone "I love you" or "I'm in love with you." This statement can be very powerful or even meaningless depending on the person saying it, their feelings, the context in which it is said, etc. Sometimes, some people carelessly throw those words around to get something they want or just to make the other person not feel bad. Other people take care to whom and when they use them because they view them as special and only reserved for those whom you truly love. Personally, I would never tell someone I loved them if I did not entirely and truly feel that I knew I did. If I say that phrase to someone, it means that I trust that person enough to share my feelings with and that I count them among the people whom I would never want to live my life without. I tend to be rather shy and usually (or used to) keep most of my emotions to myself, so if I manage to tell someone that I love them (other than family or something), it means I have put a lot of thought into it and really trust that the person to whom I was speaking would not take it lightly. Some people place less value on the words "I love you" and more on actions that show it, which is fine. Yes, actions are important as well. If you tell someone you love them and then go and want to be with or kiss someone else, obviously you did not mean it and place little value on the words. I do think it's important to try to show someone that you love them because actions do show how you feel as well. Personally, I prefer both. I think there is just something magical about seeing and hearing those words that should not be taken for granted. I don't know about you, but nothing would make me happier than when someone I love says those words to me. Even writing them is pretty amazing ♥ , but I still think it's nice to hear them.

Also, someone recently mentioned to me that saying "I love you" over and over again makes it lose its meaning. I do not think so at all, at least not for me. Sure, maybe if you do not mean it and if you said it like 50 times a day maybe it might, but if the person saying it still really means it and just wanted to express that, I think there is nothing wrong with it. I think it's sweet, in fact. Who would not want their girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife/ whatever to tell them they love them every day? I know that when I hopefully get married, I would love my husband to tell me that he loves me quite often and I'd do the same in return.

Something else that kind of relates to the previous topic that also shows the importance of words is when someone writes something for another person. As someone who also loves to write as well as read, I have written many different stories, research papers, even some poems, etc. over the years. Of all these writings, very few have I written specifically for and given to other people. In my opinion, when you write something like a poem or story or letter, especially something involving your emotions/feelings, it makes you somewhat vulnerable and only with few people would I trust or love enough to share things like that. I always dreamed that one day a boy whom I loved would write something for me that I inspired. I don't know if I ever really believed it might happen, since I tend to be such a hopeless dreamer, but it worked out for once. Yay! :) My boyfriend recently wrote me a poem and when I read it, I literally had to stop myself from squealing with joy! (Haha!) It was beautiful and I read it over and over again. I was so thrilled and loved that he would take the time to do that for me. ♥ It was a dream come true; he's so sweet.

Another topic that involves the effect words can have that I have thought about recently is bullying. If you do not know, I am currently studying to be an elementary school teacher, so bullying is a topic I have to think about because it affects many students in schools everywhere today. It has been brought up many times during my college education so far such as what to do about bullying in the classroom, classroom management ideas to help prevent it, and even social studies lessons to teach children why bullying is wrong and how it makes others feel. I recently attended an education club meeting at my university and the speaker gave a presentation on bullying. Most of what she said I had heard before but she did give us a few good examples of ways to incorporate prevention of bullying into the curriculum. She told us about a few books that could be incorporated into reading class on the topic and even gave us a few lesson plans we could use.

As a child, I did witness other children being bullied, not very seriously as I have seen since then or in the news, but there has always been bullying of some sort in schools. I never really experienced it much firsthand. Sure, I did a little bit, all people most likely do at some point in life. I was probably called "fat" or something like that a few times, but nothing that really affected me too much. I was fortunately always in a rather sheltered, strict school (private, Catholic) where much bullying was not really seen or tolerated. I do remember one boy used to tease me about my father being in the "mob" because he is a somewhat intimidating-looking Italian man (haha!) but that was not really a big deal either...I found it sort of comical! I am very aware though that many students do experience extreme amounts of bullying in school today. It's such a shame and I'll never entirely understand why or how some people and children can not realize what they're doing is wrong and how cruel bullying can be. I hate to see a story on the news about a child who could not take being bullied anymore and took their own life because of it. It's so sad. Much of this bullying involves words, cruel words, either said in person or more often today, on the internet. Anyway, hopefully as a future teacher, I hope I can help explain to my students the seriousness of this issue and incorporate bullying prevention into my lessons. That trite phrase they used to tell children: "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me" is rather untrue. Yes, they cannot physically hurt you, but emotional pain is also serious and can sometimes lead to worse things, depending on the person.

Okay, that little (or large...) rant went in such random directions...love, poems, and bullying in schools...totally normal! They are important/interesting things to think about though. "Hips Don't Lie"...Zumba & Velvet!

Ciao darlings,

I couldn't sleep, so I'm writing a quick blog post that doesn't require too much effort. My day was not that great...not awful, but boring mostly. I did homework most of the day...until I couldn't take it anymore. I cannot seem to concentrate much lately for reasons I don't feel like discussing right now, though I'm sure you can guess. ;) ♥ I can only think about one thing (or person) most of the time. Anyway, I also went to a zumba class tonight that I started taking a couple weeks ago. If you're not familiar with it, zumba is a Latin-dance inspired workout. It's fun, I suppose. I like the music and it's more entertaining than exercising by yourself all the time, I guess. It's very unlike me to do this though. I seem to be very unlike me a lot lately anyway, so whatever... I sort of hate dancing and exercising in front of people. I generally try to avoid this type of thing. My cousin, April, whom I love dearly, convinced me to go with her, along with my mom, aunt, sister, and her friend. It is fun to have some "girl time" every week though! I still feel really awkward doing it though. I was not meant to dance at all! Other than feeling super self-conscious trying to shake my hips like a belly dancer (lol!), I'm also not so good at following along when the dance moves get too complicated. I just laugh at myself and keep trying though. I totally recommend it though if you're looking for a fun way to exercise. Most normal people seem to enjoy it (maybe I like it a little too...lol). You can probably find a class near you or there are DVD's you can buy. I think there may also be a video game. Have any of you ever tried zumba? Thoughts?

Unfortunately, I cannot dance like Shakira, at all...haha! Fun song though! :)

Here's an outfit I wore recently too. I might as well include it so I don't have to post 15 at once like last time. I love velvet: the way it feels, the texture, and the look. Apparently I did not want to look at the camera that day, lol!

Wintertime Fashion: Lots of Outfits & Boyfriend Update!

I promised you I had a lot of outfits from the past month or so and here they are(a little late, but what else is new...this took a lot of time and I'm busy with school too)! This will be a very long, picture heavy post (balances the last one, I suppose) and I'm not going to apologize for it, just warn you...haha!

In regards to my last post...well, it's complicated. I am seeing Adi again. I know some of you, along with other people in my life, do not agree with that decision, but I had to do what I felt was right for me. I do appreciate you comments and advice and I did read everything you all said, but I made a decision based on what he told me when I talked to him and my own feelings. Apparently, he says he did not break up with me...okay then...among lots of other sweet things, all of which I don't need to share (my mother and some friends found and read this occasionally, lol!). He said a major reason he came back to the U.S. was for me and that I was everything that he has ever wanted. Aww! So, how can I be angry with him after that?! Some things he said to me (not sharing some things, sorry)...I can't even believe, I almost feel like it's a dream. I've re-read things he's texted me way too many times. He's all I can think about lately...and I don't really mind that much...other than when I'm in school...it's a problem. If I'm making a mistake, I guess I'll learn from it, but I hope and am pretty sure I'm not. I do ~~really like him~~(who am I kidding, you guys saw that poem, I love him) love him and he says he loves me (OMG, I almost cried the other day when he said that...awww!!) and has missed me too and definitely still wants to see me, so we'll see what happens. I haven't gotten to see him much since he's been back though, and it's driving me insane...I cannot concentrate!
Also, I find it absolutely ridiculous and a little funny that 2 months ago, I had never had a boyfriend and then this past week I had two guys who wanted to see me… What is going on with me lately, who the hell am I?! lol! Maybe I should be a little more careful what I wish for though because maybe I got it...or at least I should have included a time frame... Anyway, I shouldn't complain though, maybe I just didn't know what I wanted before.

So, I had to tell the other guy that I just wanted to be friends which was sort of awful, I felt so bad. I never want to have to do that again. I hate being mean to people or hurting their feelings. It had to be done though because I am definitely not the kind of girl who would see more than one guy and I'm really serious about Adi. Anyway, he is a really nice guy named Dominick, and I didn't think he’d still want to talk to me after I told him about Adi and that I just wanted to be friends with him. I thought he'd hate me. He was understandably upset…and I didn't think he’d ever talk to me again. I wouldn't have blamed him. After a few days though, he told me he does want to be friends, and was just upset before. I'm glad. He’s a good guy so I hope we stay friends. It's kind of nice to have a guy to talk to about things like my boyfriend and such, you know? :) (He's found/read my blog too, which was a little awkward considering what I've written, lol! but oh well. In case you read this, Hi Dominick! lol!) Okay, enough about that, on to the fashion! Enjoy! :)

1.) NYC Fabulous!

One of my favorite places to visit within a reasonable distance from me is New York City. I absolutely love it there. (I wrote a post last summer about a trip there too.) I love the museums, the lights, the stores, all the fun and interesting sights, the culture, the people, just everything about it! :) I especially love it in the winter because you can see the huge Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center and all the pretty Christmas decorations and lights everywhere. I love to take a little trip there whenever I can. I went there with my aunt one day this December. I won't post all the pictures (if you've read my blog, you know I love to take way too many!), because this was supposed to be a fashion post, but I'll share a few favorites. We went to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, among other places, so that's why I'm standing next to wax famous people..haha! I love the dress I wore too by the way, it's so pretty and feminine! :)

14.) Large is a wonderful word!
So I don't know if any of you can tell, but in the past few months, I've lost about 60 pounds. I haven;t really told many people the exact number, but some have noticed I've lost weight. So, I went to the mall recently and for the first time ever (or since I was like 10) I could fit in clothes in a "regular" store! I tried on this dress in a size large, not really thinking it'd fit...and was so thrilled when it did. To a lot of people a size Large may sound...well large, lol, but to me that is amazing! I went shopping in Charlotte Russe, NYC & Co., D.E.B., and H & M!! I was so excited, I almost cried! I realize I'm still technically plus size, I think, but to be able to fit in sizes XL & L (depends on store/clothes) in regular "straight" sizes was amazing (and so much cheaper too)!

Also, I wore this dress to see Beauty & the Beast (pink roses like the one with a spell on it in the movie...). I also wore yellow eye shadow (Belle's dress) and it's hard to tell but my necklace is a little teapot! Ya, I sometimes match my outfit to random things like movies I'm seeing...I'm odd like that! lol!

I started a new Practicum (like student teaching, but only once a week) class recently. It's a fourth grade class in a nice charter school. The students seem to be so well behaved and their teacher is very nice, so it should be fun! :)

"Heartbreak Warfare": Unfortunate Fairytale Endings

Ciao everyone,

Back again! Tired of me yet?, hehe! Hopefully not, if so, oh well, I love you anyway! ;) So, I decided I am going to tell you what happened with my ex-boyfriend (I'm not a fan of that word, it's sounds so depressing...uggh). It's possibly a little too much information, but not really...ha, whatever. If you've been following my blog, I told you all about him in an extremely elated post about a month ago (here if you're interested). I suppose it probably had something to do with the fact that he was my first boyfriend, so I was excited. I'm going to attempt to summarize what happened (somewhat...I tend to write a lot.) from my obnoxious amount of diary pages. Everyone I know in real life who has asked me did not get much of a response; I told them we broke up...and 1 or 2 tiny details. I didn't want to talk about it, still don't, but writing about it is helpful (makes sense...sure?). This will probably be a really long post...but then again when aren't my posts super long.

Have you ever read any of the real, unedited to have a happy Disney-esque ending, classic fairytales? Many of them are quite dark and have unhappy endings. (I have a fairy-tale obsession, lol) That is how my "fairytale" went unfortunately. No happy, Disney ending for me this time. :( So, as I said in my previous post, I was super happy dating this guy (Adi), running around giggling like a 13 year old girl. For about a month (we met in the beginning of December), we would see each other and he would be super sweet and tell me all kinds of adorable, sweet things. When I was not with him, we would talk on the phone and text each other cute things all the time. I wrote a lot of what he said to me down in my diary...so what, lol! Based on the way he would talk to me and be when I saw him, it was not just me, he definitely liked me a lot too. I'm not that delusional to have imagined it.

Around Christmastime, things went downhill. My life started to feel like a soap opera. I love drama on Tv or in movies...but in real life, no thank you! We had a little argument involving me asking him *jokingly* if he was ignoring me. He got a little angry about it for some reason or other...but it wasn't that big of a deal really, I suppose, in comparison to what would happen later. I was upset about it though, I had no idea why he was being so mean all of a sudden. I just wanted him to talk to me, is that so much to ask. On Christmas Eve, he told me that he had to go back to Albania (a country in Europe, where he's from) because his grandmother there was very sick. Of course I said I was sorry and that was a shame, but I was also sad he would be leaving. He would be coming back though. We had sort of made up from our little argument, but I still felt weird about it. I didn't get to see him on or near Christmas because he had to leave, which sucked. I made him cookies I wanted to give him; there were cute little heart shaped ones. :( He had to go though and it wasn't his fault; one of the things I love about him was that he loves and is close with his family.

So, I knew he was leaving and that he was having trouble finding tickets right away, but he never told me when exactly he was going when he found them. I texted him, etc and he did not answer me for about 3 or 4 days. Of course, being me, I panicked. I started to worry and wonder "What f he doesn't want to see me anymore?" or "What if he's never coming back?". I realized he was busy with family stuff but I thought he could have texted me or something. So, I went on my facebook to see if he had messaged me there and I saw that it said he wasn't my "friend" on there anymore and that his relationship status was single again. Like most people would have (right?), I assumed that he had decided he did not like me/want to see me anymore. I was devastated and really angry that he would just ignore me and have me find out that way. I may have cried my eyes out all day and moped around my house... I also sent him a text message that was not so nice...and that I would soon regret. This same day, I saw on my cell phone that I had a voicemail message from an unknown number. I listened to it and my mouth dropped! It was Adi. He told me that he was in Albania with his parents and grandmother. He also said that he could not use his cell phone there (explains why he ignored me) and that he had tried to message me from someone else's phone (I did not get those...damn foreign country communication!). Also, he was having a problem accessing his facebook there too, which explains that issue...uggh! His voice melted my heart, "I knew he couldn't have been that cruel", I thought. I could not call him back though because the number didn't show up on my phone...so I had to try to email him. It was so frustrating not being able to talk to him somehow. You would think it would be easier to talk to someone outside the country in 2011! My luck is so awesome... So I wrote him this huge thing about how I was confused and about what I thought had happened and asked him to please ignore what I said in the text I sent him when he had his phone working again, etc.

He called me again the next day, but my phone did not ring (I would have known, I did not leave it alone for a second hoping he would call again). He left another voice-mail and was probably starting to think I was ignoring him just like I thought about him. Fortunately, the next day after that (January 2), he called me and told me he was home. I was so excited to hear that he was back! He asked me to meet him at the coffee shop and of course I got dressed and ran there as fast as possible! lol! We discussed our ridiculous misunderstanding and he said that it was fine and that nothing had changed between us. Unfortunately that wasn't all he said. He then told me that he had to go back to Albania again. :( He explained that his grandmother was still sick but he had come home because of a problem with a form for work. Apparently, there are some forms or something that he fills out every year to be able to work at the UN. This year, however, he was busy with his grandmother when he would have usually submitted them at work and forgot about it. He had come back to the U.S. try to sort out the problem but then they told him he needed to go to some office in Albania to fix it because it was too late. Also, he wasn't sure how long it would take or if they would definitely let him work there still. It's complicated and I'm not sure I entirely understood it, but that's generally it. He said that he could stay in the country, but he would have to find another job...which would probably require the same form or whatever eventually too. He asked my opinion and wanted to know what I thought he should do or if there was anything I could think of to help him. I had not clue, I've never had this type of problem before and I did not feel like I had any right to tell him what to do with his life. As much as I really wanted him to stay, I couldn't tell him to stay for me and ruin his life. I told him something like that and that I can't tell him what to do, I don't want to ruin his life. I felt so bad for him though.

We sat there and talked for a while, he was obviously struggling to make a decision, but I knew he had to go back and try to sort out the issue with his job and hope for the best: that he would be able to come back, have his job here, and see me. It makes the most sense. He told me something that was so sweet though, I really didn't want to say goodbye. He said that he didn't want to leave because he can work anywhere but only here can he find me. He also said that I was a very special girl and that I shouldn't worry so much while he's gone. He said that hopefully, if it's meant to be, then everything will work out and that he still wanted to see me if I still wanted to see him. <3 Aww! We had to say goodbye and I was not the happiest girl that day, but at least I knew he still liked me and that he did not want to break up.

Then I did not hear from him again for about six days though! I know he told me not to worry but he did not text, or call, or email, or anything. If a guy was interested in you would he not try to contact you in some form after 6 days? Am I overly needy and insane for wanting my boyfriend to talk to me occasionally?? I couldn't wait any longer so I sent him this: “It would be nice if I knew if you left...and if you are ever coming back? If nothing had changed like you said when I saw you...you would have tried to talk to me somehow (call/text/email...) by now, wouldn't you have?? I'm trying really hard not to assume anything like I did last time because you said you'd tell me if you didn't want to see me, right? I miss you. It'd be nice if you told me anything. I hope everything's okay with you. ♥” Maybe I shouldn't have said anything, but I cannot stand waiting around and wondering what the hell is going on. He soon emailed me back the most awful thing I've ever read. I cried like a baby reading it over and over again and wanted to just hide in a hole and die. He didn't say anything that mean really, but he did call me immature (why? because I wanted my boyfriend to talk to me once in a while...really?) and he said that he thought he was clear and honest with me about his feelings for me (yes, but you can't blame me for worrying a little, can you? I had never had a boyfriend before and I just wanted a tiny bit of attention occasionally, was that too much to ask?). He said something about how he was going through a lot right now and would not deal with my "childish mannerism". I knew he was going through a lot, I told him how sorry I was and that I wished I could help but there was nothing I could do. I just wanted him to talk to me about his problems, or just say hi or whatever occasionally, apparently that's childish. Lastly, he said that he really thought it could work between us...and then that he wished me well. Obviously, I was not a happy girl after reading his message. I have never been so angry and sad at the same time in my life. He had never been so mean to me before, and I was absolutely devastated. This time he had definitely broken up with me. :( (I thought? Apparently not?!.)

I wrote him back this huge obnoxious letter (probably said way too much, what else is new) once I could compose myself enough. I had a lot of things to say to him. I didn't really say anything mean, just a lot about how he hurt me and how I did feel really bad about what was going on with him (grandmother and work issues), and that if he had really wanted it to work out it would have, etc. I may have stupidly sent him that poem too...why I have no idea (He had asked me the last time I saw him where I saw our relationship going and where I wanted it to go...of course I did not answer then). Guys make me insane I suppose. He never said anything back after that. I wished he would have...stupid dreamer, always wishing he'd apologize, say he was just upset because of his issues, and come back. :( After a few more days I tried to text him in case maybe he came back...and because I'm a lovesick nutcase. Whoever had his phone asked who I was and then told me that "Adi doesn't live in the states anymore, sorry". Apparently I guess since he didn't need to come back for me, he must have decided it's be easier to just move back there. I'll probably never see or speak to him again in my life. Who in the world does this kind of thing happen to? My first boyfriend leaves the country twice a month after we meet and then breaks up with me and never comes back. Totally normal, happens all the time...sure!

This song (Demi Lovato: "Remember December") sort of describes how I felt and the month makes sense too.

I love this song too.(Alexz Johnson: "Skipping Stone") I also related to this. (Have you noticed I love music?..I always think of songs to relate to everything...lol!)

Well, that's enough about that. I'll get over it I suppose, or I hope. Maybe I'll always feel a little sad about it. Are all girls that attached to their first boyfriend or am I just way too emotional and melodramatic? lol! Maybe I'm sort of seeing another guy now, but it's not as serious...is it too soon? Oh well, I don't care, I waited my whole life. I'm entirely over waiting around for guys to fall out of the sky...lol. But I think I still love Adi...uggh! Why is life never simple? Okay, I'm done rambling now. I doubt anyone reads this entire thing...I just needed to tell someone that I don't have to talk to in real life because that makes me uncomfortable and sad. P.S. As I was finishing writing this post, and just about to hit "publish", just when I was absolutely sure I would NEVER hear from Adi again, and that my fairytale was over, sad ending and all, guess who I get a message from?! Adi! He said: “Ciao Gabi, come stai? (how are you?) I’m back in the states.” Really, how am I supposed to respond to that...did he forget that he broke my heart a few weeks ago...and that's all he has to say after everything I said to him that he ignored?? I thought he was never coming back and did not want anything to do with me even if he did. Now what am I going to do...I guess I'll answer him, I'm too curious not to. We'll see what he wants. So, the drama apparently continues... Ridiculous...I wouldn't believe it if it weren't happening to me. I suppose I'll keep you updated, since I have told you all so much already.

A Melodramatic Poem & Winter Outfits!

Ciao darlings!

I'm back, blogging two days in a row, yay! I'm going to try to get to posting all the things I've been planning to post both lately and since I started this blog that I never got around to posting yet. Anyway, I wanted to share something I wrote a few weeks ago with you guys. I love to write, usually short stories (some of which are on the list of things I want to post), maybe someday a book, but I tried something different this time. I suppose this is a free verse poem (no rhyme, meter...or reason, haha!) that I wrote about someone (my sweet, adorable boyfriend!) recently. Maybe I'm way too melodramatic, but it's a poem, so whatever. I realize most of you follow for fashion related things, which is fine, so I'll also include a few outfits at the bottom of the post (more coming soon after these too).

“Love at First Sight: Daydreams of a Love Struck Girl”

She sat in the corner, hair curled, makeup done just so, wearing a short dress with tiny ruffles she hoped he would like,

Fiddling with her necklace which purposefully read “Love,”

Anxiously awaiting for him to arrive.

The one thing she had longed for,

For what had seemed to her to be a thousand years,

She had finally decided to take a risk and go after it.

Sipping her overly fancy, overpriced coffee drink,

She sat nervously twirling her hair around her finger.

Her mind began to race as it often did when she was nervous:

“Did he forget?” “Change his mind” “Did he see her, and decide it was a mistake?”

“Was this a mistake?” she wondered and hoped not.

She glanced up from her book she had brought so she wouldn’t look as if she were there waiting for someone in case he did not come,

And she saw him.

He was sitting at a table only a few feet away.

His eyes met hers and she smiled, waved, and then panicked and immediately looked down.

“Oh my goodness, he’s really here” she thought “What if he expected me to be more confident and talkative as I seem to appear in words & pictures online?” she wondered.

“What if I’m not what he expected?”

It was too late to do anything about it now.

He walked towards her and introduced himself.

She loved the way he said her name with an accent that made her smile whenever he
spoke.

In his eyes she saw kindness and his gaze made her feel that she could trust him with
things she hadn't told another soul...

She looked in his eyes and saw his smile and she was in awe.

She knew in that instant that she loved him, though it made her incredibly nervous and shy.

She needed no further convincing,

Though it may seem crazy to some.

She knew in her heart, this man had her heart and he didn’t even know it yet.

She knew right then that she wanted to know absolutely everything there was to know about this man.

Not because she needed a reason to fall in love with him, for she already had,

But because she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him and nothing in this world mattered more to her than learning all she could about this man she felt was her soul mate and nothing would stop her, not even her extreme tendency to not allow people in and to be so very shy.

She wanted to experience all that love has to offer with this man and prayed to God that eventually he would feel the same about her.

Maybe, just maybe, if she were very lucky, he would feel the same way about her someday…

As they chatted that day, and long after they had parted ways, and in the following weeks,

Her mind painted a glorious and magical collage of beautiful, romantic scenes:

Hand holding on long walks, Warm, intimate hugs,

Sweet and Passionate kisses, staring into each other’s eyes,

Romantic dinners, movies watched in dimly lit rooms whilst cuddled in each other’s arms,

Learning all of each other’s secrets, later, a white frilly princess gown, a long aisle in a beautiful church, friends and family gathered to share in the love that she had first felt on that very first day,

A cozy home with tiny feet running about, and giggling children gathered around their happy parents.

She saw a beautiful life flash before her…and hoped with all that she was and ever would be that her daydreams would come true.

Hopefully, someday, she would find the courage to share all of this with him.

But for now, it is only a silly, yet hopeful, daydream of a love struck girl,
Sitting alone in her room, waiting for him to call, and praying he feels the same.

For some reason, I love the picture on the left. When I took this about 5 weeks ago (ya, really behind on my outfit posts...lol, I think I look a little different in more recent pictures...), it was my new favorite picture of myself (totally not as conceited as that makes me sound, ha!).

Life Update...I've missed you!

I have not posted in a while, I know. I meant to during Christmas break from school, but I needed time to have a life for a little while! Haha! I've missed you all though. I haven't checked or commented much on other blogs in a while either, sorry, I'll get to it. I'm usually so busy with school and I needed a break from everything for a while. So, I might as well tell you what's been going on since I last blogged. A lot of things have happened since then: some good, fun, some heartbreaking and sad, some interesting. Lol!

Let's start with the good things. I hope you all had a lovely holiday season, it's a little late, I know, but whatever. I did, mostly (more on the depressing part in a bit...). I spent time with family and friends, relaxed, and did not think about school at all, which was nice. I spent 2 days around Christmas making a ridiculous amount of cookies (Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Italian Amaretti, Shortbread with various Jams, Gingerbread, and Sugar!), which I loved, but it's a lot of work! See, here's a few of the many, aren't they cute:

I gave away a bunch to family and friends. What's better than homemade cookies in cute tins tied with pretty ribbons!

Christmas Eve I had to work, but it wasn't that bad. At night, I had dinner with my parents and little brother, which was nice. We laughed and talked, and possibly drank too much wine...haha! I love spending time with family during the holidays. Christmas day, I spent with my parents, brother, sister, her boyfriend, my nieces and nephew at my house. We opened presents (really, shocking! lol!), had dinner together, etc. Later we went to my aunt's house to see some more family, which was also nice. :) In between Christmas and New Years, I read books, watched movies, wrote stories, baked and cooked fun things, played dress up (ya, so what! lol, I'll post pictures soon, there may have been frilly petticoats/tutus involved...) basically all the things I never find enough time to do during school. I also got to spend some fun girl time with three of my best friends (Kristen, Vicki, & April) whom I hadn't spent time with in a while. I absolutely love them and it was great to have some time to catch up and have fun! We watched movies, played pool (not so well...lol!, it was pretty hilarious, let's just say we're not joining a league any time soon...ha!),chatted, and had a ton of fun taking a bunch of pictures with my tripod! :) Hopefully, they won't mind me posting just a few of them on here:

On New Year's Eve I went to a party at my sister's house with a bunch of family and friends. Since I usually stay home on New Year's Eve, it was fun and different. There was a lot of food, interesting conversation, and fireworks. Of course we watched the New Year's Eve special on TV and watched the ball drop. I made friends with my niece's best friend's mother...lol, she was a really sweet lady (why do I always get along better with either younger or older people...?). I made one of the best cakes ever, not to be arrogant, but it was so delicious! (Strawberry Cake with Swiss Meringue Pink Champagne Buttercream!, recipe will be on here soon). I got to spend time with my lovely cousin/best friend, April. It was nice. A couple of us spent the night at my sister's house, so I was up late gossiping with my neices, friends, my mom and aunt...which was hilarious, ha! New Year's Day, I didn't do much. I just wore a sparkly skirt and had dinner with my brother and father at his restaurant.

Now, I mentioned earlier there were some not so happy things that happened since my last, overly excited, happy-girl blog post... My boyfriend...or um, ex-boyfriend, and I broke up. :( I'm debating whether I should tell you guys what happened. It's sort of entertaining, if it's not happening to you, I suppose...lol. I swear I walked into a romantic comedy/drama ,without the happy ending, for about a month. It was ridiculous. Of course, if you read how excited I was in my last post, you'd probably guess that I was sort of devastated about it. Maybe I'm a tad over-dramatic, but whatever, I was crushed. I'm trying to get over it/him (which I don't do so well...example: previous posts on my silly crush on a guy for way too long). What do you guys think, interested in hearing my ridiculous story? lol! Maybe I'll write about it later...

I also started a new semester of school last week. Of course, I went back earlier than everyone I know at other colleges, who are still on vacation (totally not bitter...ha!). It's okay though, I like school, even though it drives me crazy; things I love tend to do that. I'm taking some education courses (Teaching Language Arts & Technology and Teaching Science), Geography, World Religions, and an English class: The Romantic Period. I'm also starting Practicum (like student teaching but only once a week) at a new school this Tuesday, which I'm excited about. I'll be in a fourth grade classroom this time. Should be fun! :)

Although I didn't blog, I did take a bunch of pictures of a lot of my outfits the past month, so they'll be on here soon too. I have a lot more posts planned, I'm going to try not to disappear again! "Love Story" & Fashion!

Ciao Darlings!

How are you all on this wonderful day? I figured since I have complained/whined/ranted about my boy issues or lack of boy issues (lol!)on here a bunch of times, I should tell you guys some good news...finally! A couple weeks ago, I finally got over that silly boy from college I've told you guys about on here before. I finally figured it wasn't worth my time obsessing over him when he didn't like me and he probably wasn't as great as I had kind of built him up in my mind to be. I think I just needed someone to obsess over because I wanted a boyfriend/attention. So...guess what? I have a boyfriend now! Yay! :) I think God was waiting for me to get over that other boy before I could meet someone special (sorry to get all religious, lol). Please don't laugh at me but maybe, at 20 years old, he's my first boyfriend..okay, he totally is. Ha, whatever, I don't care, I'm not concerned with what other people think of me anymore. He was definitely worth waiting until now for though. :) I told him I have a blog, I didn't tell him what it was though, and I don't think he's found it or read it...as far as I know. He said he did not mind if I wrote about him on here though...so I will. :) (Maybe I'll tell him...)

His name is Adi (short for Ardit or Arditi), he's European (Albanian), and he is quite possibly the sweetest guy I've ever met. ♥ He's also really intelligent, rather cultured, and very kind/polite. Plus, I think he's adorable; I love his eyes and his smile! :) He's a little older than me, 25, but it's not that much, right? I don't think so. I met him online (shocker, right!) and we talked a little bit, but soon after I met him in real life. Look at that, a sweet, cute guy, who likes me and exists in real life within a reasonable distance from me! Too good to be true, haha! We first met at a nearby bookstore/Starbucks and talked for a few hours. Being me though, I was really really shy around him...and still kinda am. I don't know what it is, but being around a guy I like, him in particular, makes me ridiculously shy, twice as much as I usually am! I don't think he knew I liked him that much at first because I could barely speak, I just giggled and smiled a lot in between attempting to talk to him...Oh my! I'm trying to get over that and I've seen him a few times since then, but I still get nervous. Hopefully with time that will get better and go away? I swear he probably thought I was an idiot because I suddenly forget everything I ever knew when I see him, lol. Even if I manage to remember anything, I can't find the words to tell him because I panic! Lol! Why is it I'm so much better at expressing myself in written words...I'll always remember something I wanted to tell him later and text him...ha! He's really nice about it though, he's told me I don't have to be so nervous and asked what he can do to help...but I don't know. I really like him though...a lot, he's such a great guy. :) If you're a normal person (not me...lol), he's such an easygoing guy, very easy to get along with or talk to about anything.

Our second date was adorable. He came to my house and we cooked pasta together and then watched a movie about an artist he likes (Modigliani). So cute! He held my hand and put his arm around me...and I was freaking out inside. I loved it...how sweet! :) I probably sound like a 13 year old girl right now, but who cares...hehe! He also speaks Italian (and a couple other languages...so smart!), which I like because so do I. I need to practice/refresh my memory apparently though, especially since when he talks to me in Italian I start to question whether I'm sure if I know what he said...I can barely think of how to respond to him in English, so it's a little harder in another language. It's cute though (and sexy!). On our third date (yesterday!), we had a bit of a misunderstanding. I think my shyness made him feel like I wasn't that interested and I thought the same about him, but it was resolved when I texted him and then saw him again later that night. He was sweet enough to come over to my house when I asked him that night...which was not the easiest thing for me to do. It's okay though because it turned out to be one of the best days of my life, I'll never forget it. I keep replaying that night in my mind; it was enchanting. :) I'm a super happy girl right now! ♥ :) Every time he texts me or calls me I get all excited and smiley; my mom and brother laugh at me as I stare and smile at my phone all the time...lol! It's adorable, he texts me things like "Buon giorno Principessa" ♥(Good morning princess) and "Goodnight sweetheart" and I love it! Now, if I could only stop thinking about him long enough to finish my papers and study for school, everything would be great, lol! I keep getting that crazy butterflies in your stomach, omg I can't breathe, feeling whenever I think about him...lol! It's a good thing though. :)

Wow, I feel like I wrote a little too much about that...I'm just so happy and excited! Hehe! This is nothing compared to the pages and pages I've filled in my diary (too much detail for here...a girl needs to keep some things a secret ;) )...I'm such a nerd! ♥ I wish I had a picture of us to show you guys...but I feel weird randomly asking to take a picture with him....lol! Eventually. (Oh, and the title of this post is referring to that Taylor Swift song btw, I love all her songs! but maybe now I can stop obsessing over the ones where the guy doesn't like you back, lol!)

I took these pictures after running around all day at school and I spent a good amount of time searching for "play money" in 10 different stores! Ha!, I needed it for a project I did with the 2nd graders, so cute! So, my hair got a little poofy and the curls fell a little. I was in a good mood though because some random guy stopped me in Walmart to tell me I looked gorgeous! Lol! I didn't really know what to say but "Thank you," which I did while blushing and backing away...haha!

I wore this on my last day of Practicum, which is a fancy word for the college class for which I had to visit a second grade class every Tuesday this semester. I got to help the teacher and teach a few lessons to the class by myself, which was a little scary at first, but I loved it! The children were so sweet and I'm going to miss them. They had a cake for me and made me all these cards on my last day! How adorable are they!? I brought them a little treat too: little Christmas themed bags with candy, pencils, & erasers. I can't wait to be a teacher! :)

A thousand words right...but which ones???

I've been meaning to post on here for a while, I have so much to tell you and so many outfits I want to share. It'll take a few posts though. I have been so super busy with college I bearly have time to sleep, the end of the semester is insane! I'm not done with finals until the 21st, which sucks! Some rather interesting things have been going on in my life lately...good, bad, strange, lol!

So, I have a little story to tell you guys and then a question. I meant to post this a couple weeks ago, but here you go anyway. I was talking to this guy a few weeks ago whom I met online. We were texting and he was telling me all these sweet things. He was nice but at the time I was still obsessed with the boy from college (I'm not anymore, but I'll tell you about that in my next post!). I just didn't like him like that other guy so I had to tell him I could not talk to him anymore, which was not fun and I felt awful, but it would have been mean to keep kind of leading him on right? I had only ever texted him, it wasn't a big deal and only for a week, but still I felt bad he was sad. :( Whatever, had to be done, wasn't meant to be. Anyway, the point I wanted to make was that when I was talking to this guy, let's call him T. T asked me if I would consider sending him what I consider to be inappropriate pictures. Of course, I said ABSOLUTELY NOT, NEVER! I was quite offended that he'd ask...and that's when I knew I had to stop talking to him, even if he was nice.

He said something that made me think and wonder about something. He said something to the effect of: that he had assumed certain things about me based on the pictures I have posted on my blog. What the hell have I ever posted on here that would make someone assume I would do something like that. Not a slut, thanks! No offense if you happen to be someone who does do things like that, but it's not me. I am fully clothed in all my pictures. Non of them are anything more than PG 13, haha! I don't always dress like a nun, I know. Yes, I like to look sexy once in a while, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I never thought someone would think that based on the way I look/dress in pictures. He also said that I seemed less shy in photos, which I can understand, I do, but still, get lost!

Do you guys assume anything about me based on my pictures? How do I seem? I've never really thought about it until now. Has anyone ever assumed things about you based on a photo or your blog? Comment below I'd love to know what you think. I think (no, I know...) that guy was just a creeper and not worthy of my time.

I look a little angry in these pictures, haha! I was probably just tired after being at the elementary school and then having class after. I should really take pictures in the morning, but there's not always time. I love this dress with the pretty purple ruffles!

4.) Casual Leather
Some days, I do wear just jeans and a T shirt, not often, but sometimes. My car was broken the day I wore this, which meant I got to borrow my father's car. I was excited because he let me drive his BMW, and even though I'm not really too interested in cars, I still felt pretty bada** driving around in it for a few days...lol! So I wore the leather jacket to go along with that...and because I love it & have been wearing it often lately! :)

5.) Pretty Pink & Black Lace

This sweater is a pretty light pink color (my favorite!) but the flash on my camera makes it look a little too white. This is another example of why I should take outfit pictures in the morning, I look tired and my hair got a little messed up in the rain, oh well.
