HP Color LaserJet 2550 Printer is an example of another type of workgroup printers. This machine has a lot to offer and much more than just simple printing. As a workgroup printer, it is affordable, user-friendly and meets all the requirements of printing.

It is a four color printer that prints up to 20 pages per minute (ppm) in black and white color. It has an ability to print up to 19 A4 papers per minute and 4 A4 paper per minute in color. According to its specifications, it has a 6 PCL printer driver and a HP 3 level postscript emulation print driver. It comes with a RAM of 64MB which can be expanded up to 192MB with the help of its DIMM memory slot. It also allows the users to add more font support.

HP Color LaserJet 2550 Printer consists of a multipurpose tray for paper sheets. It can hold up to 3 trays with the condition that the second tray must be installed. Tray 1 can hold up to 150 paper sheets or 10 envelops, and allows the optional tray 2 to hold 250 standard size sheets and optional tray 3 to hold up to 500 letter sized or A4 paper sheets.

As a business letter covers 5% of the printed paper area, so HP Color LaserJet 2550 Printer has the cartridge that can print up to 2000 color prints and 5000 black and white standard business letter prints. It supports cyan, yellow and magenta for color prints. It also has a USBconnection port and also allows a network for printing due to its optional feature HP Jetdirect network print server.

Software is recommended as a tool for this HP Color LaserJet 2550 Printer which helps the user to interact with the machine through an application and customize the settings offered according to the user needs. As most printers with an LCD monitor are expensive, the software with LaserJet 2550 printer helps us in this regard when we do not have an LCD monitor.

HP has launched a series of printers under this category, LaserJet 2550L, 2550Ln, 2550n. The features of all of them are almost the same except a few optional features regarding ports, memory and font. HP Color LaserJet 2550 Printer is a smart machine at a low price. This device is available at very reasonable prices both from storefronts or online.

A printer like LaserJet 2550 is real deal. The positive aspects of this printer are that it allows the features of expandability, upgrading, affordability, good quality prints, great design, and it is user-friendly. While the negative aspects include low speed in printing, lack of an LCD and low capacity base paper tray, it is still an excellent printer that can meet all your needs for a reasonable price, especially when coupled with the HP products available.
If you're using iOS version 4.2 or later, you've got an AirPrint ready device.

When printing with AirPrint, your options are fairly limited. You can't select which pages you want to print or your preferred page layout. Even with these limitations, printing wirelessly to your printer can save time and eliminate the hassle of using a full fledged computer to do your printing. Printing on an iOS device can be useful to print maps, recipes, emails, and more. To help overcome the limitations that are inherit in iOS devices, apps can format and provide many different options for users so the print outs are useful and exactly what the end user needs.

With this new protocol comes questions as to what printers are supported now and in the future. As with any new technology, it may take printer manufactures some time to catch up to newly announced features. Here are a few common questions asked about AirPrint.

Does my printer support AirPrint?

In short, if it's not brand new, it probably does not. Since the AirPrint feature announcement, only a small handful a printers support the new protocol. So why are their only a few printers on the market that support AirPrint printers? Well, in short, it's because it's so new that manufacturers have not had the time to test and update existing printers to use the new AirPrint protocol. New models are being released all the time, so the next laser or inkjet printer may have this functionality.

Will my printer support AirPrint in the future?

It's hard to say which printers exactly will or will not support AirPrint. Epson has released a statement that no printers will be updated in 2011 that will support AirPrint. HP already has 25 printers that support the standard, but hasn't indicated which printers, if any, will be updated to support the new standard. Other manufacturers have not commented if they plan to support the new feature.

Why doesn't iOS have built-in drivers for all printers?

Although it would be nice to have support for all printers available today, doing so would require every iOS device to have drivers to support these printers. This would add about 4-6GB of driver data to each device. By creating the new AirPrint protocol, iOS only needs to support one driver and the manufacturer can then implement support for their printers.
Whether you are running your own business, working in office or working from home, at times you do require print outs. Hard copy documentation still is vital for the purpose of keeping a proof. For this very reason it is essential to maintain this gadget as if it breaks down then the work flow would come to an abrupt end. Even before facing any unwanted situation it is better to be equipped with ready solution to it. This is the very reason why printer repair services came into existence. Think about it you are working hard for preparing an agreement and when you proceed to take a print out your printer would not work. Sounds horrific.

The solution is simple, you can hire a printer repair service and get it resolved. But here you must remember if you are just going in for a cheap repair then it might only work for one time, instead it is better to find a reliable and good repair service. You must remember these few of the points while choosing the service:

* PAN India reach
* Renowned name in the IT/Telecom industry
* Qualified and skilled engineers at disposal
* Technical support help desk 24x7
* Minimum turn around time

All these advantages should be at your disposal while opting for printer repair but there is also another aspect to it. While you have opted for a one time service how would you like to have a long term maintenance of your equipment? I guess it sounds lucrative idea to you. I am here talking about opting for AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) for printer. Opting for this you would not only save time and resources but also be always in touch with technical support at any time of the day.

You would be able to maintain, service and even call for technical help for troubleshooting. Sounds good, I believe. Well whatever your choice just go for the best in industry, well known name that would be reliable.

The laser printer is one of the most common and useful tools in the modern office, but making sure your laser printer maintenance routine is adequate is often something that is overlooked. It doesn't necessarily need to be a massively taxing or time consuming process, just some easy tips that can avoid having to call out a repair guy.

It is best to make sure that you printer is cleaned around once a month. The first step will be to switch off the printer, and leave it for around an hour to become cool. Once this is done, take out the paper trays, and also the toner cartridge, and place it on a piece of newspaper or paper that has already been used.

When cleaning the inside of the printer, make sure you're using a cloth which is both dry and without lint, and use a brush to clean the harder to reach areas. If your printer is one that features corona wires, then these should be cleaned with a cotton bud with a little bit of isopropyl alcohol. Be careful on this step, as you do not want to break these wires. The last step in this part of the laser printer maintenance routine is to clean the rollers themselves, usually with a damp cloth as this is one of the most common areas for dirt build-up.

As well as cleaning the printer on a monthly basis, the next step in laser printer maintenance is to actually use the printer in line with the guidelines of the manufacturer. Avoid using cheap ink and cheap papers. Whilst these may be short-term savings, they are false economies, as they will only accelerate the degradation of the printer.

By following these simple tips, and making sure that your laser printer is always well maintained, then you will save on the costs of having to repair the printer further down the line.

If you only have a small fleet of laser printers used by your company, discuss with your local printer repair company as to how quickly they can normally respond to calls where problems occur, and whether they would consider a reduced callout fee if you agree that they will be the first port of call, without actually committing to a contract fee.
Is a printer has a fuser units these can become very hot and can cause burns if you touch them. I know this from experience so it's important if you are going to show people how to do this that you take your time to switch off the power first.

On many printers you will find that they also come with self test features. With this they can run a self diagnostics to let you know what is going on. Once you run this it will hopefully print out a diagnostics sheet to tell you if there are any technical problems.

Most printer manufacturers offer fantastic support you can find many support fourms on the Internet from users who can really help you resolve any problems that you may have.

Sometimes you will come across issues that are software related. Some of these can be very easy to resolve. Most operating systems will come with a generic software driver that will work with the printer. But, this will only give you basic printing if your printer has any extra features you will need to install the specified driver to ensure that you do not have any problems.

Sometimes printer manufacturers will update these drivers so it's important that you take your time to download the latest version in case they have come across some issues which are now fixed. Hopefully this has given you some idea of the kind of problems you can come across in the end didn't contact your IT support as they will be able to advise you on any printer issues you may have.
When you have an important reason to take printouts and if you find your printer not functioning properly, then of course, you will be facing a pathetic situation. Since printers have been made up of a wide range of components, it would be a difficult task to fix the problem. Hence, it definitely needs the concern of the professionals. In some cases, people would have witnessed the papers being jammed in the printer for no reason. It is difficult to picture the prices that have been applied for the printer services from different companies. In case if the printer is of cheap quality, it is better to purchase a brand new one rather than looking forward to get the old one repaired.

For those companies, which will often witness one or the other problems in their printers, there is nothing to be surprised when the bill of printer repair goes high, especially when it is given for some external printer repair experts to be fixed. On the other hand, those who do not want to pay the printer repair bill will purchase a brand new printer. In case if they purchase a cheap quality printer again, then they will again be put to face the same old problems with the printers. Hence, these companies will witness an annoying situation. First of all, they should realize the fact that managing the printers and its resources is not the company's work, as they have their own goal to achieve. There is a managed print service, which are exclusively located for this purpose.

When you are well equipped with managed print services, you will have nothing to worry, as this company will look after the printers that you are using in your company. They will not get your printer repair problem fixed, in addition, they will also manage the print resources like sheets and ink cartridges etc.
To improve the internal security of a business enterprise, many business owners switch to producing their own identification cards instead of outsourcing them. The need for a better ID card system continues to be a priority. The development in card technologies and printing system in the recent years made the idea of in-house ID production possible. Many badge printers out there can help companies in designing ID cards no matter how sophisticated they may be. A portable Fargo Printer is one great example of a machine that can design, encode, and laminate badges in just a few minutes.

High security badges like the HID Proximity Cards are no longer exclusive for those with an enormous budget for outsourcing. Anyone can easily print them out with any Fargo Printer that can support different card technologies. You will need easy-to-use card software to make it work proficiently. If you are new to this application, you need not worry, as there is a help guide or instruction manual for you to follow. You do not need a degree in computer programming to operate it. These portable printers have an easy interface that anyone can figure how to make it work.

If you are going to outsource card printing, it is still an option but the downside to this aside from the fact that it is expensive; you will be sharing personal information about your employees. To maintain confidentiality and to secure your company, you only need a multifunctional printer along with the right software to create sophisticated ID cards. Several brands are accessible in the market today. Most of them offers the same features but if you are interested in HID card technology, why not get it from Fargo Electronics. Back in 2006, they merged with HID Global Corporation, the leading manufacturer of access control encoding and printing components.

Fargo provides two different printing technologies. You can choose between the High Definition Printing and Direct-to-Card printing. The former is best for high level of security card applications while the latter is best for mid-level security card systems. High Definition Printing uses a thin film to print on to create a clear edge-to-edge printing. It does not matter if the plastic card has a microchip or uneven surface. The Direct-to-Card type on the other hand, may not offer the clearest graphics but it has the re-writable technology. Instead of throwing out used cards, you can just erase the data and use them again.
However, if your computer and printer are not properly functioning together you may need to bring out the big guns and install additional USB printer support. Typically, the printer comes with a support driver installation CD. This CD tells the computer exactly how to use the printer and adds additional support to the computer system.

Instructions

Check the cable connection between the computer and the USB printer. Ensure the USB cable connects securely into both the USB port on the computer and on the printer.

Insert the driver installation CD into the computer. Once the computer detects the CD a driver installation window appears in the middle of the computer screen.

Click "Next," then accept the license agreement (if one is provided). Refusing to accept the agreement results in your inability to install the printer support drivers.

Follow the prompts, leaving everything at the default settings. Changing the default settings (such as installation location) may result in the computer being unable to detect the support drivers.

Click "Install" and the USB printer support drivers install onto the computer

When a user instructs a document to print, the spooler buffers the document and places it in a printing queue. Usually, the print spooler is an automatic service that turns on when Windows starts up. However, if for any reason it is shut down, documents will fail to print. When this happens, the you can reactivate the print spooler service.

Instructions

Reboot your computer to refresh the print settings. Sometimes this will help reactivate automatic services that have shut down.

Click the start button to bring up the start menu.

Right-click on "My Computer" for Windows XP users, or "Computer" for Windows 7 and Vista users.

Choose "Manage" from the mouse menu. This will open up the "Computer Management" window.

Click the arrow icon next to "Services and Applications" in the left-hand menu to expand the category.
You look at the printer menu and see the pesky printer offline message and instant frustration. The task of the moment is going from offline to online. With creativity and patience, you'll have your printer back online in no time.

Instructions

Attempt to set the printer to online. This may not often work but it's the first action to take. Go to "Settings" and then "Printers". Right click on the "Printer" and select "Use Printer Online". Test the printer to see if it now prints.

Clear any print jobs. Double click on the "Printer" after performing the above step. Go to the "Printer Menu" and select "Cancel All Documents". There could have been a stuck print job that would cause the printer to go offline. Try once again to set the printer back online and try printing a test page.

Turn on the printer. Make sure the printer is turned on and turn it off, wait a minute and then turn it on again. Check to see if the is jammed. Check all the network connections to make sure none are loose. Repeat the above steps again if necessary.

Restart the computer. If this doesn't work, you will have to reinstall the drivers. Go to "Settings" then "Printers" and select the printer. Right click on the printer and choose "Properties". Under the "General" or "Details Tab" look for the driver button and select it and choose the driver again. You may also have to download the driver from the printer manufacturer website.

Reinstall the printer. Under "Printers" in the "Settings" menu, go back and select the printer, then delete the printer and reinstall the printer through the add printer wizard. Use the latest printer driver from the printer manufacturer's website.
The final step in any project, whether it is creative, academic or business related, is often printing. The importance we continually invest in printers is often in stark contrast to the amount of time we spend thinking about them. As you approach a deadline and start adjusting your workflow in accordance with the remaining amount of time you have left, printing is always a process you assume will work properly and so you allot it the least amount of time possible.

That is why when printing problems occur, and they usually choose the most inopportune times to show up, being able to quickly figure out what the problem is and resolve it can be priceless. Printer support is different from other kinds of tech support for many reasons. Unlike most other electronic devices the problems you experiences with a printer can derive from issues with software, drivers, hardware or since the printer has moving parts it could even be mechanical.

It should be clear that having printer tech support available for you 24/7 is so necessary. With so many different things that could all go possibly wrong and prevent you from printing what you need to when you need to. Printer support is usually covered by general tech support services giving you access to helpful specialists that can assist you in troubleshooting numerous printing related problems like:

* Hardware Issues
* Cartridge Alignment
* Driver Problems
* Printing Preferences
* Software Conflicts
* Adding Printers To Your Wireless Network

Online product manuals and user message boards can be helpful, but are usually hard to read, incomplete or full of people who don't know what they are doing randomly trying to fix their own problems. Even if you find posts relating to your specific problem, with your exact printer and the same operating system, the suggestions you find online can often cause you to go through a lot of unnecessary steps in the hopes that your issue was the same one.

With a support specialist on the line, however, you can find, troubleshoot and test resolutions and fixes to the problems you are having, as you experience them. And since the printer tech support is often part of a larger comprehensive tech support service, you can be certain that no matter if the problem is with your computer, the software or the printer itself you will be able to fix it and finish printing.
Printers are prone to a number of issues, and knowing how to determine where the problem lies is the best way to keep your printer in service. Learning how to fix your own printer can also save you money, since the cost of professional service on any printer can be surprisingly high.

Instructions

Send a print job to your printer. If the job does not print, walk over to the printer and press the "Power" button until a test page starts to print. This verifies that the printer itself is working, and that the problem lies in the communication between the printer and the PC.

Click on the "Start" button on your computer and choose "Control Panel." Double-click on "Administrative Tools" and then "Services." Scroll down to Print Services, right-click it and choose "Start." Try your print job again.

Remove and reseat the printer cable if the printer still does not respond. Make sure the cable is firmly connected on both ends. If the print job still fails to print, try replacing the cable.
While many of those issues have now been corrected, some Service Pack 3 problems can remain. There are several ways to try to correct or troubleshoot this problem, especially if you have only recently downloaded and installed Service Pack 3 or added a new printer.

Instructions

Uninstall your printer driver and software packages. Go to "Start," "Control Panel," and "Add /Remove Programs" and select your printer software package. Choose to "Remove" it from your system. If you want to be sure you've removed absolutely all of the program from your computer, download and use an advanced software removal tool, such as Revo Uninstaller. Revo Uninstaller will remove even the deepest registry entries for the software, completely erasing it from your machine. The Windows Add/Remove tool does not remove software to this degree.

Disconnect your printer. Reboot your computer. Check to be sure the printer driver is gone by going to "Start," "Printers and Faxes" and looking for your printer. If it is not listed here, it has been removed. If it is still listed, use the Revo Uninstaller tool to take out the rest of the printer registry entries, and reboot again.

Navigate to your printer manufacturer's website and download the latest version of the printer drivers and other software for your printer. In most cases these will be updated drivers that will work with Windows XP Service Pack 3 without problems.

Install the new printer drivers and software packages and reconnect your printer. Reboot. Test your printer to make sure the Service Pack 3 problem has been corrected. If not, continue to troubleshoot.

It was quite an important day for me as well as for my company. The clients whom I was going to give the presentation were going to give us a big contract. I was done with all my research and was all set to give the presentation. The only thing left was the print-out of my presentation papers. I was tensed as this was the time I need to show my expertise and most of all it would open several doors for my company.

I connected my laptop to an HP printer in order to take the print-out of my presentation. I inserted the paper into the printer and set all the instructions on it. I felt a bit relaxed and sat on my couch. In just about a minute, a pop-up appeared on my laptop screen. I had no idea as to what happened to it. I tried to switch-off the printer many times but nothing changed. I was getting frustrated by seeing that HP printer. Moreover, I was thinking about the time that was getting wasted due to this. Suddenly I remembered something and called my elder brother. Earlier, he told me about some technicians who can provide support for my HP printer in no time.

I took the number from him and called those professionals at that instant only. My call was received by a lady. I told her my problem that I was facing. She seemed to be confident enough with the resolution of that problem. She asked me for the remote access on my laptop so as to provide some troubleshooting instructions for my printer. Then she went on to explain the various shortcomings with this kind of machine and also the easy solutions for them. She resolved the issue and my laptop and printer were working like new in few minutes. There was a small amount that I had to pay for their services. I am thankful to those technicians who did troubleshooting on my printer. Then, I went back to my home with the print-out of my presentation.
Well, these can be HP printer error codes. You don't have to worry about them as there are solutions to such errors. Want to know more about what these error codes are and see how they can be solved?

HP printer error codes to watch out for

Some of the most common printer error codes that can pop out your computer screens (or your HP printer's display panel) are due to paper problems. There are those that result from use of wrong HP supplies.

1. Error 10. This denotes "Supplies Memory Error". This error actually comes out depending on your printer model. This is caused by the printer having problems with the memory chip. The simplest way to solve this problem is to reset the printer settings by turning the printer off and on.

2. Error 11. This printer error code means "Paper Out". The problem with this is it appears even if you have loaded the paper on the tray. To solve this, you have to check the problem and see to it that the paper is loaded correctly. Sometimes, this can also be a result of HP ink or toner build-up on the sides of the paper tray so better check on that too.

3. Error 12. This is a code for "Open or No EP Cartridge." If this printer error code shows up on the screen, it means that the top cover is open. This can be a result of defective toner cartridges, cooling fans or PS5 sensors. You should then check where the defect is coming from and replace the parts when necessary.

4. Error 13. This code means "Paper Jam". The first thing you can do to solve this problem is to check on your paper. See to it that it matches what is specified for your printer model. Some HP printers may have problems when you load thick paper inside them. In view of this, you should check HP's paper guide.

5. Error 14. This can be an indicator of "No EP or Toner Cartridge." This is one of the HP printer error codes that may confuse you especially if you have installed your HP printer cartridges. Well, how can you solve this then? Simply pull out the cartridge and reinstall them again.

6. Error 16. This HP printer error code is short for "Toner Low". This might mean that you already have an empty printer cartridge. But at times this can also mean that the printer toner is not distributed evenly. When this is the case, simply shake the printer cartridge from back to front and side to side.

7. Error 21. Also known as HP printer error code for "Print Overrun", this problem can be solved by seeing to it that your printing job is not too complex.

There are still other HP printer error codes that may come out depending on the printer model you own. You can check on the manual that comes with your HP printers when these codes appear on the printer's display.

(HP), the printer ink and technology manufacturer, has announced a range of solutions to help drive and grow small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

This includes the introduction of the HP ProLiant DL120 G7 server which it claims will alter the IT infrastructure within SMBs making it easier to access web, messaging and print operations.

The firm believes that this will help boost SMB productivity and efficiency in a number of different areas.

Furthermore, HP hopes that by strengthening online networks within companies it will give them greater control over their services.

Recently, printer ink firm HP announced that it had signed an agreement to acquire all the assets of Printelligent.

For working on a printer it should be installed on your computer system. But what do you mean by installing a printer? Installing a printer means making the printer work with the computer system. The basic thing that you must have to install a printer is its driver. The printer manufacturer provides the respective drivers in the form of discs. You can insert the disc in to your computer disc drive and follow the set up procedure to install the driver in the computer.

How to install a printer without a disc?

Don't worry if you do not have the printer disc. You can still install the printer without the printer drive disc. The printer manufacturer website provides the drivers for your model of printer. From where you can download the driver and install it.

Mentioned below is the sequence of steps that can be followed for installing the printer:

STEP 1: You first need to identify which model of printer you own, which you can even determine by seeing the information visible on it.

STEP 2: Secondly, you need to know about the operating system running on your computer. If you don't know which make and version of Windows operating system you are using then follow these steps: right-click on "My Computer"-> "Properties" ->"General".

STEP 3: Find out the printer manufacturer website on Internet and search for the name and its model, or simply search for the driver for your respective model on any of the search engine and find any authentic location to download the driver.

STEP 4: Download the driver from the authentic website.

STEP 5: Follow the steps of installation and then restart your computer for allowing the hanged to take place.

STEP 6: You can choose to take a test print to find whether it's installed correctly or not.

The importance we continually invest in printers is often in stark contrast to the amount of time we spend thinking about them. As you approach a deadline and start adjusting your work flow in accordance with the remaining amount of time you have left, printing is always a process you assume will work properly and so you allot it the least amount of time possible.

    * Hardware Issues
    * Cartridge Alignment
    * Driver Problems
    * Printing Preferences
    * Software Conflicts
