Overview
Printing Industries of America and IDEAlliance are pleased to offer Certification Training to become a G7 Expert or G7 Professional. This very special training program will be held at Printing Industries of America headquarters in Sewickley (Pittsburgh), PA on June 11-13, 2011.

A G7 Expert is an expert in the field of color management, process and quality control for proofing and printing equipment. A G7 Expert is able to analyze color and print related issues and take corrective action to bring systems and processes in control to a set method, standard or specification with repeatable predictable results. Certification is valid for 2 years. G7 Experts must remain employed with an IDEAlliance Corporate Member Company to maintain their G7 Expert status.

A G7 Professional is generally an in-house quality/technical professional. A G7 Professional must be employed by Network Member or with an IDEAlliance Corporate Member company to maintain their G7 Professional status.

You've attended the IDEAlliance G7^® Expert/Professional Training program and received the all-important G7 Certification. This additional training goes far beyond theory and is all about hands-on implementation of the G7 the G7 specification (TR015), and is specifically designed for equipment operators, managers, and consultants. This in-depth training program will explore all of the practical applications of executing and maintaining the conditions required for a successful G7 implementation within your printing plant facility—and more specifically—on particular pieces of equipment.

This two-day workshop takes place in the Printing Industries of America's state of the art prepress and pressroom laboratories with intensive, detailed hands-on instruction to get you completely knowledgeable on how to implement the techniques listed below. Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a G7® Offset Operator's Certificate of Completion by Printing Industries of America, endorsed by IDEAlliance.

The Teacher's Update provides attendees with an understanding of new technologies for education, training, and retraining needs of tomorrow's work force. This one-week program includes both laboratory and classroom sessions in Printing Industries of America's production facility, which showcases the latest equipment and cutting-edge technology. This yearly workshop is free to 20 educators and the grant covers hotel and some meals. The application deadline is April 23, 2012.

Only those teachers chosen to receive funding may attend. Registration is free. Funding includes double-occupancy accommodations (with assigned same-sex roommate); room and tax charges for five nights (Sunday through Thursday); lunches; and transportation to and from Printing Industries of America and the hotel. Airfare, parking, travel costs, and other meals are not included in funding. Partial funding (half of room and tax charges for each night) for single-occupancy hotel accommodations is available on a limited basis.

An unfortunate fact is that 90% of printers are under-prepared with compliance and receive multiple and costly citations for simple, basic compliance requirements. This conference is administered through Printing Industries of America through funding made possible by the Graphic Arts Show Company. This conference is free to all graphic arts educators from high school to college level. Travel grants are available to cover a portion of the cost of attendance. The 2012 GASC/Printing Industries of America Teacher's Conference will provide an opportunity for graphic arts teachers to learn about current industry trends and see the latest equipment and supplies.

Registration is free for all participants (funded or not funded). The application deadline is April 23, 2012. You may register at any time for non-funded attendance to the Teacher's Conference at GRAPH EXPO®.

Selected applicants will receive funding for double-occupancy accommodations (with assigned same-sex roommate); room and tax charges for the nights of October 5-7; a travel stipend, and free admittance to the GRAPH EXPO® 2012 tradeshow.
